Vintage diamante marquesite sparkly necklace like a tiara for your neck. This little number is truly stunning and surprisingly---there are no missing sockets, though on close inspection there are some colour irregularities which I think add interest (3 of the central pendant pieces are smoky rather than diamond-like)

Length is 15" (38 cm.)

My mum used to call these marquesites when she was making her own jewelry--so I hope that's the right term. I'm pretty sure they're not the real thing---otherwise I'd be trotting them off to the appraiser. But they were from my mother-in-law's estate, so who knows?? Whatever it is, it sure sparkles when reflecting electric light.

This hat perches prettily like a beret atop your head but the manipulated folds of velvet/velour give it a more formal, 'dressier' styling.

I always find black difficult to adequately photograph accurately, and have lightened the exposure here to reveal the lovely textured/crushed effect but please keep in mind that the fabric is indeed a rich deep black.

The hat is in good condition although there is no evidence of the original tag and it's likely that there used to be a lining to which the tag was attached whereas now the under-surface reveals the structured black mesh of the interfacing and the thread used to create the wrinkled texture on the hat surface.

The inner circumference of the rim is 22" (56 cm.). The inside rim has a stiffening wire to maintain its circular shape.

I presume this hat would require dry cleaning.

Crocheted using a relaxed Tunisian crochet stitch for snuggly warmth with soft drape, this tubular hood/scarf or cowl is worked in predominantly synthetic yarns on a large crochet hook. Strands of pink/white twist are worked alongside a thin strand of dusty pink wool, and then lilac/pink/maroon/grey novelty yarn is added for the accent stripe.

When laid flat, the tube forms a rectangle of 18 inches long and 15 inches wide, meaning the tube is 30 inches around and 18 inches long. The opening of the tube expands from 30 inches to 40 inches, so it could conceivably also be used as a tube top though with the peek-a-boo holes of the crochet stitch.

This design is reminiscent of a cross between a mid-eastern kilim and a southwestern USA/Navajo (Navaho?) rug. The pattern is striking in its bold geometric elements and it is in a pleasing palette of indigo, tan, buff, pale green and light maroon. The fibre has a bristley feel like course wool and it smells somewhat like natural jute fibre. The mat texture feels stiff and sturdy.

Dimensions are 16.5" (42 cm.)x 17" (43 cm.) plus a 1" (2.5 cm.) fringe at each end. The size suggests its intended use as a sitting rug, but it would make a lovely centrepiece for a table, an accent piece for a wall or a sturdy accent feature for a cushion. Or it would make a lovely sitting spot for daily meditation.

I would recommend dry cleaning only to protect the unknown fibres

Three strands are knit together for a lovely bobbly textured effect on the main body of the vest (Paton's novelty 'pooch' yarn is worked alongside two different synthetic strands). The waistband and crocheted edge around neck and armholes are also worked in 3 strands: one of the synthetic strands used in the main body alongside a fluffy synthetic boucle and a woollen looped yarn.

The stated size is 3 of Kettle Creeks 5 size unisex sizing. This makes it like a 14/16 Canadian fit. Specifically, the following measurements were taken on the exterior of the garment (please allow for fabric thickness and your preferred ease when determining fit):

Made in Canada pure 100 per cent virgin wool by "Highland Queen" manufacturer in their "Cerise" plaid. Dry clean only. Canadian size 14 has 30 inch waist, and 8 inches below the waist at the lower end of the stitched part of the pleat it measures 44 inches around. Length is 27 inches. Brick/cherry red with royal blue and cream stripes. This kilt is in very good condition, with only very slight minor imperfection evident at the former site of the kilt pin where there is a tiny pucker visible in our close up detail shot. Vintage Lord Elgin Hotel of Ottawa Canada woollen single size blanket

The Lord Elgin Hotel was opened in 1941 to compete with Ottawa's Chateau Laurier. It remains one of Ottawa's landmark hotels with it's dramatic stone walls and steep copper chateau-esque roof like that of Canada's parliament buildings.

This blanket has a slightly felted feel (for extra warmth) and is in good condition. There are no holes evident when held up to the light, but there are several tiny areas where the surface/felted wool is missing (especially along the fold) so you can see the weave of the woven fabric. There is also a small mended area of 1" by 1" (2.5cm. by 2.5 cm.) (see the last two photos), and one side of the tag is no longer attached to the blanket.

It measures 53" by 89" (134.5 cm. by 226 cm.). "Lord Elgin Hotel" is woven in purple and there are two golden yellow stripes at each end on the creamy off-white background.

Dry cleaning is recommended to protect the presumed wool content from shrinkage.

This pale sea green with white motif pullover polo necked sweater has raglan sleeves and would fit men's large or women's extra large plus. The motif looks like snowflakes to me but it could also be stylized florals I suppose.

Tan Jay label (Made in Hong Kong) 100% acrylic so it is machine wash & dryable at low temperature settings on a gentle cycle. Though the label specifies large, the measurements (see below) suggest this was intended as a man's large, though it's colour and styling would also suit an extra large/plus sized woman.

My mum would refer to this type of sleeve (see detail last photo) as "fully fashioned".

This is a near new condition item with no apparent imperfections. It stands well alone as a top, or wear under your favourite vest or cardigan.

This is a beautiful blanket--the gay stripes on beige background is a wonderful combination. Stripes are in chocolate, taupe, ochre, buttercup and lemon. This is not a tight weave---it almost looks handwoven rather than machine-made. The stripes are a different weave from the background for extra contrast, and the edges could be hand-finished by their appearance. I'm assuming wool content (by feel), but there is no label.

The wide central striped pattern with narrower stripes along both edges makes for a great impromptu wrap (see photo) or an attractive warm throw for your sofa naps.

The size suggests this was originally intended for a single bed: 50" (127 cm.) wide by 80" (203.5 cm.) long.

The condition of this blanket/throw/wrap is near perfect---no holes evident when held up to the light and only two small marks--as shown in the close-up: a darker, ink-like mark 3/16" (0.4 cm.) long in one corner, and a small smudge.

I'd suggest dry clean only to protect from shrinkage

This simple and charming wrap design with its simple collar in a mix of autumn tones is great as a casual topper over any outfit. It is in excellent condition with no evident imperfections.

I'm assuming mohair was woven alongside the (presumed) synthetic and wool blend yarns and then the surface was lightly brushed to give the resulting lovely soft mohair look and feel.

Our vintage mannequin is a medium size; it also looks good on me (Lynn--I'm large size), so the shape is very adaptable.

I'd recommend dry cleaning or hand washing in cool water and laying flat to dry.

Purple Haze hand knit openwork wrap cap sleeved, drop-shouldered sweater, womens one size. Those of you who remember Jimi Hendrix may also remember his "Purple Haze" song; somehow this was the first thing that came to mind when I finished this sweater.

It's a bold , bright mix of royal blue, purple and deep fuschias. The photos come close to capturing the colour, but for some reason the realm of purple doesn't translate exactly in my experience with digital photography.

Three synthetic yarns are worked together on jumbo knitting needles to produce a chunky stitch, and the collar, armhole edges and wrap ties are crocheted on a chunky hook. No button closures but collar could be secured with a brooch if desired. The openwork gives a lovely textured appeal. Please note that two of the three yarns were designed for strength not softness so the garment is not super soft and cuddly feeling---but the openwork requires it be worn over a top for modesty sake so the texture is likely irrelevant. This sweater could be machine washed on a low temp., gentle cycle (in a lingerie bag or a tied pillowcase to protect the chunky openwork stitches from snags); machine dried (in a protective bag) also at low temperature.

Presumed one size fitting most body shapes/sizes, since the wrap design allows cinching in or letting out to suit most body shapes other than very small. Sleeves are capped and shoulders drop slightly; armholes are ample.
Measurements follow, on the exterior of the sweater laid flat with wrap cinched at it's minimum (remember, 24"/61 cm. ties on each side allow ample expansion):

This dazzling item with simple Coco Chanel type of styling and two pockets still has its shoulder pads but these are readily removable for a more contempory look. The side lacing of this tabard style vest adjusts to fit most body sizes, except perhaps extra small. The main panels are knit with intermittent openwork stitches and borders of tunisian crochet. All stitches are chunky sized and several strands of yarn are worked together throughout, yielding a beautifully textured surface. The sides are open but for lacing made from a crocheted chain of coordinating yarns. The lacing adjusts the garment from small/medium up to extra large/plus size for either a man or a woman (each side lace is 86" long so there is ample room for expansion). On an extra large man, the vest panels would be more like interesting breastplates centred on the torso:

This is a beautiful piece purchased for our own home about 20 years ago from a vendor in Welland, Ontario Canada (the only bilingual city in Southern Ontario). The weaver had created it on a 400 year old loom brought to Canada by her father from France.

We had it as a couch/sofa cover but had it covered with another throw for everyday use to protect it, and it was exposed only when we had company in the evenings(i.e. not very often, introverts as we are:=)). Hence it has not suffered sunlight bleaching and is in excellent condition, with little if any signs of wear, no visible imperfections, and still bright colours.

It measures 66" (168 cm.) by 74" (188 cm.) It is machine-washable and dryable on a gentle setting, though dry-cleaning would extend it's life longer if you want to treat it as an heirloom.

This one is one of my favourites from my own working days---it works with either a severe suit (to lighten it up)---or it's especially great for a plain dress or sweater/slacks. I'm a big-boned woman and this one has enough 'heft' and presence not to be overwhelmed by my large frame.

I particularly love the African styling with the faux bone long beads and the coppery goldy accent rims around the large half-circle beads. It's in very good condition--I only just noticed the minor imperfection (I wore it for years without noticing this. . .)----one of the metal accent rims is missing (see if you can spot it in the picture.

At 24" (61 cm.) long (including barrel screw-clasp), it has a lovely asymmetric stringing which adds further interest and delight. I'm assuming the small and larger semi-circle beads are synthetic, and yet the smaller beads have an irregular, uneven texture on close examination so it's possible they are wood.

This is a sleekly styled shirt with still intact original wooden buttons and many more remaining years of wear. It is in good used condition with worn areas at the 'vee' of the cuff flap on both sides and on the lower portion of the back seam (though the latter is barely perceptible). The last three photos show close-ups of the worn areas. None of the imperfections is readily apparent when the shirt is being worn, and the don't detract from the cachet of this classic vintage style. It looks black under artificial light (and in our photos), but in daylight it shows as a very dark navy with like lining. A beautiful lightweight pure wool fabric--perfect for any season. It is in very good condition with only minor imperfections: a tiny hole in the fabric at lower rear (see 3rd photo), and two tiny snags on the front--one near the buttonhole (4th photo), and a similar one on the collar.

It has a lovely tailored look--not readily apparent in the photo: there are three neat buttons on each sleeve and one closing button at waist; there are fake 'pockets' on each side and a fake upper one on the left side.

A tag specifies "dry clean only" and "8"--presumably size 8.

Casual, trendy wear --I shouldn't really call it a cover-up 'cos it doesn't cover much :=)). Wear it over a swimsuit when a breeze chills you, or over a T-shirt or tank anytime. Worked on a chunky tunisian crochet hook combining 2 strands: a chunky synthetic yarn paired with a wool-blend. In pale blue-greys+violet blue+ royal blue +variegated royal blue/pale blue/plummy maroon. This yarn & stitch combo has a soft, luxurious feel.

Unstretched, this topper measures 33" (83.5 cm.) from shoulder to bottom edge and 36" (91.5 cm.) at chest/bust with a 7" (17.5 cm.) slit at each side of lower edge.
The width at chest stretches to at least 44" (112 cm) with a corresponding reduction in length for a shorter, wider shape.

First up, I have to tell you this is one of those necklaces where the 'beads' are fused to the 'string'. Yup, it's synthetic, and almost didn't get listed because of its construction.

But I'm enchanted by the pale yellow-green clear oval 'beads' which look like beach glass --except I've never seen beach glass this colour. It's actually one of the more interesting necklaces I've ever seen, and so here it is, for someone else who finds it intriguingly attractive.

I picture it on tanned or dark skin, enhancing a sundress.

Maybe I'm imagining it worn this way because I'm typing with blocks of ice for feet as the winter storm rages like a train outside the window. Yup, here in winter wonderland Canada, brown skin, a sundress, and this lovely chartreusey piece all sound really appealing together!

But I digress---back to specifics: it has a clasp but easily slips over your head--in fact at 30" (76 cm.) long some slender-necked young thing could probably wrap it twice and wear as a double choker. And think of this: this one will never break its string and spill beads all over the floor!!

On sale because although this kilt is in very good condition, with no evident holes or imperfections in the fabric, on close inspection the surface has numerous tiny "pills". They may have been part of the original texture intended on the fabric, because they are evenly distributed across the surface and indeed the tags look in like new condition--but they are mentioned here in case it matters (even though they are not readily perceptible when worn).

This kilt is 24 1/2" long (62.5 cm.). Waist is 28" (71 cm.) at the tightest cinching of the waist buckle, with a possible additional 2 to 3 inches by extending the holes in the strap & moving the inner waist button. Pleats are sewn down 7 1/2" from top of waist and hip measures 39" (99 cm.) at this level.

The 70% polyester 30% rayon mix is dry clean only, as specified on the tag. Colours are: royal blue, maroon, dark grey, black and white---a winning combination!

None of these imperfections are readily apparent when the shirt is being worn.

The fabric is beautifully soft from its washings, and has the characteristic patina of age---that lovely crinkly dye colour variation along all seam edges.

I always use a good quality paper for my acrylics. I prefer a smoother finish (i.e. hot-press), because I usually work in skyscapes and need the washes to flow on smoothly for water and sky.

I prefer painting in my studio using my own or John's photos for inspiration--rather than braving the outdoors--especially since many of our most spectacular skies are at dawn or sunset in mid-winter!

A classic herringbone tweed and a classic style with a Sears tag but no cloth content tag. I'm betting real wool or a high wool- content blend (my practiced fibre-worker fingers), and hence it would be definitely "dry clean only". No size tag is evident either, but it is apparently a small to medium size (please consider measurements below to be sure it would fit you).

The lining is double for our Canadian winters: the visible lining is shiny & satiny black but there is a second fluffy/fleecy insulating lining between the visible black lining and the exterior fabric of the coat.

This coat is in immaculate condition with no visible imperfections or marks or signs of wear---even the usual wear spots of neck and wrist look in as new condition.

It has two front pockets and one faux breast pocket. There are two black buttons on the bottom of each sleeve and four larger black buttons at the front. The wrap over of the double breasted style gives extra protection from the cold. There are two spare buttons: one smaller for a sleeve and one larger for the front. While all buttons seem secure and attached, I would recommend reinforcing them since of the four available holes, some are only sewn through two holes.

Measurements follow on the garment laid flat, taken on the exterior so please allow for fabric and lining thickness and your preferred ease.

Our windy island has many of these little vignettes in early winter--of bare trees with their exposed skeletons exposed by the wind. I found this grouping particularly appealing--huddled together near a fence in the middle of the vast open area of fields used for our community pasture. The open areas feel particularly bleak in winter because the unfettered wind shows no mercy.

I always use a good quality, acid-free watercolour paper such as Arches or Saunders for my watercolours and acrylics. I prefer a smoother finish (i.e. hot-press), because I usually work in sky scapes and need the washes to flow on smoothly for water and sky.

I prefer painting in my studio using my own or John's photos for inspiration--rather than braving the outdoors--especially since many of our most spectacular skies are at dawn or sunset in mid-winter!

A rich mix of taupe, dark brown, russet, maroon, charcoal thick cord and (thick) vintage ribbon yarn with silky ribbon yarn in corresponding colours running alongside throughout and fuzzy warm brown novelty yarn around the rim.
Measurements: 9 1/2" (24 cm.) diameter at base, 6" (15 cm. ) high (when rim isn't turned down), and 14" (35.5 cm.) across at upper opening.

This basket is self-supporting as a sculptural piece--you can shape it with your hands and turn over the rim partly or all the way.

It could be washed by hand in cool/lukewarm water and left to sit on a towel to dry--so would be usable to hold fruit, bread, crackers or other 'clean' food. Or just stuff it with your favourite stash of yarns that you're saving for a special project

Casual, trendy wear --I shouldn't really call it a cover-up 'cos it doesn't cover :=)). Wear it over swimsuit when a breeze chills you, or over a T-shirt or tank anytime. Knit on chunky needles combining 3 synthetic and wool-blend strands: one in pale blue, one in indigo blue, and third in a navy blue/mid-blue twist. The overall effect is PIZZAZ for the person who likes to explore unusual fashion looks.

Unstretched, this topper measures 32" (81 cm.) from shoulder to bottom edge and 38" (96.5 cm.) at chest/bust with a 7" (17.5 cm.) opening at each side of lower edge.

I'm a size 14/16 and this fits me fine, so I'm guessing the size 7/8 mentioned on the tag is some special European sizing (coat was made in Romania).
This is a striking black and white pattern: distinctive and likely not for the shrinking violet type of personality--unless you decide to make a bold statement. It has 2 slash pockets and three front buttons (only lower two buttons were done up for the pictures--the upper one closes neck more snugly for inclement weather.

This coat is fully lined and in very good condition with no apparent imperfections other than light 'pilling' of the woolly surface (pilling is what we in Canada call those little fluff bobbles that occur on the surface of a woolly garment. As you'll likely know, if you don't like the textured effect of the 'pilling' you can 'shave' the surface with a readily available and inexpensive battery-operated gadget.

The tag says "Made in Romania"; size 7/8 (remember though I'd guess it's N. American 14/16-ish); exterior/shell 35% acrylic 35% polyester 30% wool; double lining 100% viscose; Dry Clean Only.

I love creating with no bounds, limits or pattern. This is one of those pieces that is more art than hat. I picture it topping a fancy flowing vintage dress at a spring or summer garden party.
Alternatively, its unusual styling would be a great counterpoint to some in-your-face punk outfit.

The coin is surrounded by a lovely wire filigree. Coin itself is 1" in diameter (2.5 cm.) and the total diameter of the pendant including the wire surround is 1 3/4" (4.5 cm.)

Not sure of country of origin, though we're betting Hungarian because of the source (my Hungarian-born mother-in-law), plus the apparent reference to Franz Joseph.

This was crocheted from 1/8" diameter jute on a thick crochet hook. It is slightly asymmetric and sculptural. You can actually mold it with your hands within limits.

It is 9" high (23 cm.) with a 4" (10 cm.) opening at the top and an 8" (20.5 cm.) diameter base. It is approximately 10" wide (25.5 cm.) at its widest diameter.

It sits pretty by itself as a sculptural piece, or you could use for cut flowers if you put a glass or jar inside. Fine for dried floral arrangements as is.

This item will ship almost flat and will need reshaping when unpacked (easy to do with your hands).

It could be washed gently by hand in mild soap, and warm water. Squeeze gently between two hands then rinse and squeeze gently again. Dry away from heat on a towel to absorb moisture.

Jacket and skirt appear to be the identical rich dark purple suede/pigskin though they are from different Canadian manufacturers.
Skirt is by Yves Venet size 36 (skirt measures 34 inches at the waist and 46 inches at the hips on the outside of the garment, so please allow for thickness of suede + lining plus your preferred ease when considering fit). Skirt has snap/press stud opening down front with 2 side pockets and it is fully lined in black. It is 33 inches long with a sexy 12 inch unbuttoned area at lower mid-front

The jacket is by "Cachet" and has ribbed jersey collar, cuffs, and waistband with zippered front and purple lining. It fits a large framed woman with up to a 40" bust/chest.

These two items make a beautiful suit and are in excellent condition. The only apparent imperfections are tiny "pills" on the inner side of the jacket's jersey ribbed waistband, and tucks at each side of the skirt's waistband (apparently the waist used to be 36 inches, and could be re-sized bigger easily by removing the tucks).

My Dorset aunt sent one of these to my mother and to me within the first 5 years of our emigration to Canada in 1957, and they have been stored ever since. They were brand new at the time of giving, and the cotton is still crisp and unwashed though this one has a small dark stain about 1/4" by 1/4" of indeterminate origin--otherwise it's clean/crisp like new. The last photo shows the tiny stain.

In soft blues, pink, & mint green on white background. You'll note in the second-to-last photo it starts out as an almost flat oblong shape. Gathering at the inner pull strings creates the bonnet which adjusts to any head size. This is a well-made item. There's a frill on the band surrounding the face & a bow at the back, though both of these have become somewhat flattened in the almost 50 years of storage.

The front band is 25" (63.5 cm.) long and the chin straps are each 14" (35.5 cm.)

This is an exquisitely beautiful style, apparently custom-made and is in excellent condition but needs to be professionally dry cleaned, hence the attractive price. The stains on the inside of the neck(? make-up?)and at the hem(?coffee?) are the most obvious, though on close inspection the lower lacey hem edge is lightly soiled all round from trailing on the ground, and there is a perspiration stain under the arms which is mostly hidden by the bodice decoration. The lower edge of the inner opaque skirt is also lightly soiled, with a 1 1/4" tear at the hem.

Otherwise, the dress is immaculate, with no other apparent imperfections. There is an exterior sheer layer with its bounteous lace and pearly detailing; there's also an inner sheer layer on the skirt and the arms. The innermost layer is the opaque creamy white ?taffeta? which underlies everything but the arms and upper bodice. 19 little cloth-covered loop-closing buttons provide an exquisite accent at upper back, above a 16 inch zipper.

Measurements follow. Please note that our measurements are made on the exterior of the garment, so you need to allow for the thickness of the fabric and lining, plus your preferred looseness/ease.

The upper sleeve has two layers: the outer layer is slightly pouffed and measures 14" (35.5 cm.) around at upper arm. The inner layer measures 12" (30.5 cm.) around at the same place at the upper arm.
The extended wrist cuff is 6.5" at its longest (16.5 cm.) and measures 7" (18 cm.) around at it's lowest edge and 8" (20.5 cm.) around at the end where it joins the pouffier part of the sleeve (the wrist is also double thickness of fabric).
Shoulder seam to waistline is 14.5" (37 cm.). All measurements made on exterior of garment.

The lovely coral-coloured, wire-threaded tiny, slightly irregularly shaped beads may be the real thing. The purse bag/compartment attaches via the edge filigree. This is a very dainty piece of antiquity. I'm estimating the age conservatively from other items we purchased in the same lot from an affluent elderly lady's estate. The frame is gold-coloured, possibly either brass or gold (the metal of the frame is not attracted to a magnet). The clasp is still working well.

Item is priced for it's exquisite old-world delicacy and intricate work, not for it's possibly valuable components. If they really are coral beads, and it really is gold, you'd have a great bonus in value.

Two for the price of one! Identical but for their different colours, each measures 8 3/4 inches (22.3 cm.) across the top and they are each 5 inches deep (12.7 cm.).

In very good condition, with no obvious imperfections and barely perceptible signs of rubbing/wear to the suede at lower edges. They are unlined but have immaculate interiors.

The strap in the pictures has been doubled to show how it would work as a wrist clutch system, but it readily unclips and attaches to the ring at the other side for a perfect two-layered shoulder purse.

This is such a lovely versatile design: you can easily remove/unclip one of the purses if you prefer a more minimalist look, and then easily clip it back on when you want both of them again.

This is an exquisitely beautiful piece---classically ornate awaiting a fittingly classy purse body pouch compartment to be attached via its tiny edge-holes. The attached chain is 16" (47 cm.) long. The frame itself is 6" wide (15.5 cm.) and 3 1/8" (8.3 cm.) high from the top of the clasp to an imaginary line drawn between the base of the hinges.
It is probably silver, though I cannot say for sure. Item is priced for it's exquisite old-world delicacy and intricate work, not for it's possibly valuable components. If it really is silver, you'd have a great bonus in value. None of the metal components (frame, clasp or chain) are attracted to a magnet.
Age is a conservative estimate based on other items purchased in a lot from an affluent elderly lady's estate. It could well be much older--it has an art nouveau (or is it deco?) look about the carved/engraved design.

Wandering around Savannah, Georgia 16 years ago in a store fittingly called "Chutzpah and Panache," I saw necklaces that have stayed in my minds eye ever since. Bold, beautiful necklaces best worn by tall women with large boned-frame to carry off the heft of the components. Alas, they were priced way outside of our budget. This necklace is my tribute to that store and those necklaces. Though it's more accessible price-wise.

28 1/2" long (72.5 cm.), it readily slips over your head, though it has a barrel screw clasp. Lacey coppery metal beads are offset by black & tan wooden and topaz & black glass beads for a burnished autumn leaves effect. The pendant is carved wood or bone (I can't tell)--found in New York on the way back from that Savannah stop all those years ago.

You might admire John's sculptures which serve as useful mannequins for jewelry--but they are not included in the purchase price :-)

This pair were made for a Teen Vogue fashion shoot last summer, so they were constructed for long thin legs. They have amazing stretch capacity but the limiting factor is the band at the top which has to pull over the thighs. This band limits the size to 16" (40.5 cm.) around at the thighs.
Before pulling on, they are 45" (114.5 cm.), but they shorten rapidly as they expand around your legs. They have ties at the top but would be more reliably held up with a garter belt.

Loosely knotted or twisted together, they would also make a funky scarf or neck wrap. A versatile addition to your accessories.

To protect the mesh weave, they should be handwashed in lukewarm water,rinsed, and gently squeezed to remove excess moisture before hanging to dry.

In very good condition--no perceptible faults except for the wrinkles and the tarnish to the lower edge grommets.

10 pockets, 4 grommets at top and 4 more at bottom for securing on a vertical surface. Great for stashing and organizing with ready access.

Vintage hand woven women's medium large men's small medium size burnoose floor length robe with hood neutral colors. This robe pulls over your head--there are no buttons and no zipper.

This was a gift for Lynn over 30 years ago and it hasn't fit for the past 20 years but was kept for sentimental reasons until reason recently prevailed (we have reached the age of whittling down; this closet downsizing has been the source of a lot of our vintage inventory:=)).

It feels and looks like raw wool---it has a raw, almost coarse, earthy feel that suits this spare monkish style and the subdued earthen colours of deep charcoal, grey and off-white. I'd recommend dry cleaning only.

The tie belt, in off-white cotton and the ample hood adds to the Franciscan/Benedictine look of the simple design (though the hood's tassle lends a jaunty, somewhat less sombre air).

This burnoose/robe is in very good condition, with only minimal signs of wear e.g. minimal 'pilling' and an almost invisible, not readily apparent 3/4" mend at front just below waist.

Measurements follow, taken on garment exterior, so please allow for fabric thickness and your preferred ease:

Bust/Chest at underarms: 44" (111.5 cm.)
Hips: 48" (122 cm.)

This is a wonderfully stylish and attractive piece of comfort clothing---good for any season (provided you have central heating in a northern winter climate :=)). It is in excellent, near new condition with no imperfections and no signs of wear. It has a 13" (33 cm.) slit at the lower right side, two front patch pockets, faux cuffs (contrasting stripe direction) and an attractive front placket/neckline also with stripes running perpendicular to the main body for contrast/accent.

Neck tag says "The General Store on Mount Pleasant Ltd., Toronto" There is no care tag, but I'd presume cool water machine wash and low temperature machine drying would suit this woven cotton fabric (though if it's a snug fit you might be safer washing by hand and hanging to dry).

This fine piece of work was meticulously crafted and is still in good condition. There are 2 tiny dark rust spots (shown in last 2 photos),and only one small break which could readily be invisibly repaired (I would have done this but wanted to show how minimal the imperfections). In addition to the two tiny rust spots, there are intermittent small slightly darker areas along the upper edge, which are not readily apparent except at close inspection. The third photo shows a close-up of the break, with an adjacent darkened area.

It measures approximately 82" by 14" (208.5 cm. by 35.5 cm.), not including the enchanting, meticulously crafted dangle details.

What country woman hasn't used their apron (or even their dirndl skirt) to pile treasures in for carrying home from a walk to the fields or orchard? This one works inside the house too :=))!!

Next time, why not take this lovely, ready-to-go carrier with you tied around your waist and don't worry about getting it dirty--it loves to be machine washed/dried. It is a very sturdily made apron in almost-new condition with no readily discernible imperfections.

The photos show how the lovely rounded oval shape of the apron pulls into a carrying basket via drawstring when then loops onto the clip for arm-free transport. There's also an inner flap of paired pockets for you to reach under the apron while wearing, to easily retrieve your wallet/keys/coins/kleenex etc. The pair of pockets are each 5 1/2" (14 cm.) wide by 5 1/4" (13.5 cm.) deep. In the picture you just see the rear of this pocket flap which is 11 1/2" (29.5 cm.) wide by 9 1/2" (24.5 cm.) high.

This apron carrier is one-size-fits all. The 18 1/2" ( 47 cm.) front waistband is extended by 35.5" (96 cm.) ties on either side. The apron is 30" (76.5 cm.) deep from the top of the waistband, and 34" (86.5 cm.) wide at the widest point along the lower edge

White 'Buffalo' wool (a vintage brand) is combined with soft pink novelty yarn,dusty pink woollen doubleknit yarn and skinny white boucle to create three yummy layers or stripes of pink tones worked in chunky crochet.

Tam measures 13 inches across when lying flat, the inner opening stretches from 19 inches to 23 inches.

CARE: All our hand knit/crochet items contain at least some woollen or other natural fiber, and as such, should be hand washed in lukewarm water, rinsed well, gently squeezed to remove excess water then laid flat on a towel to dry away from direct heat.

Allergies? Our smoke-free home is shared with two cats and a dog but yarn works in process are kept in a container so yarn doesn't meander where those with four feet have trod.

As you see, this item almost glows from the richly coloured component yarns. I do love working with multiple yarn strands to get such rich colour gradients.

The pictures might not help you understand its shape. Its an organic stretchy shape that can wrap around you in numerous ways (three options are pictured). This is one of my (i.e. Lynn's) more radical designs, but totally in keeping with the latest designs on the runway.

It's basically a large rectangular shape with one large hole for either your head or your arm. There are braided tassles located strategically along the edges and these become ties for completing the look you desire.

I am the model in the pictures and I am a tall, large boned woman with 38" chest, so a petite person might get swallowed up by this dramatic number---or they might just have to tie up more ends or wrap it twice!!.

Knit in a lacy stitch on extra large needles, working six or seven strands of synthetic and wool blend yarn together--it has a crocheted border for a finished, neat edge (which also helps contain the stretchiness of the chunky lace knit stitch).

Please note: this item will need to be hand-washed (cool water) and laid flat to dry to protect the integrity of the large stitches and to prevent shrinkage of the wool blend components
