Use this convenient one compartment, over the shoulder pouch when you only want to carry a few basic items with you. Use the strap across the chest and this pouch works well for cane users. This pouch can be utilized to hold items in combination when you travel--perhaps just your checkbook, sunglasses, credit cards and cell phone.

Crafters can use the pouch to hold small scissors and other sewing aids. When taking a trip, the pouch can be worn close to your body under your jacket for extra security while traveling.

Cord measures approx. 40-44 inches around--to adjust length just knot the cord at the top. Pouch measures 6 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches long with 1/2 inch bottom miters.

The backside (interior) of the pre-quilted fabric, in most cases, is made of muslin which is off-white in color--but some of the quilted fabrics will come backed in a dark solid color or a subtle print. Pouch can be laundered (cold cycle/drip dry) but spot cleaning recommended to retain color.

You won’t find this prequilted fabric in Oriental designs anywhere at your local yardage stores and it is very rare to even find this already quilted Japanese design fabrics anywhere on the internet. I purchase mine direct from fabric stores in Japan and ship to the U.S. It is stored in smoke free environment.

This book cover fits the new hybrid sized book covers that have been introduced to the public in the last few years. These books are about an inch taller than the standard size and growing in popularity with the general public. If you are purchasing your first book cover—-the other size I carry, the standard size, is still the number one seller since it will fit about 80% of the paperback books that are in circulation. Most standard sized books will fit into the Premium size book covers but it won’t be the best fit—There will be extra fabric in the height of the cover.

This book cover is made of 100% cotton (80% of my fabrics are imported directly from Japan and stored in a smoke free environment), lightly interfaced and fully lined with a carefully chosen fabric that compliments the cover design and sized to fit all but the thickest paperback books. (Premium sized paperback’s covers measure 7 5/8 inches tall by 4 5/16 inches—this book cover’s front finish size is approx. 8 inches by 4 1/4 inches--fitting books with up to a 1 1/4 inch spine.)

This paperback book cover is a perfect way to keep what you are reading private. The unique design has handles that allow you to easily tote it around with you when you travel by slipping it over your forearm or grasping the handle like you would a purse--or even hang it on a set of handlebars at the gym. The Velcro tab fastener keeps the book from opening unexpectedly and not only losing your place, but having the book fall out of the cover. Decorative knife edge throw pillow sham-backed cover approx. 20 inches square made from 100% lightweight cotton handkerchief. The pillow front cover is composed of several layers (cotton underlining, firm batting, another layer of cotton underlining and the cover piece) to make a slightly padded and durable cover. The back is made of overlapping sections of corduroy fabric so that this can be taken off the pillow form to clean. Spot cleaning or dry cleaning recommended. Pillow core is not included unless a special order is requested and the costs adjusted.

Note: Use an existing old pillow you have at home as the pillow core to save money and slip cover this over the old one you wish to replace. If the pillow core you have is not quite large enough, you can add a few layers of quilt batting over it or sometimes even a towel will work. This takes a 20 inch pillow core if you are purchasing a new one at a craft store. If requested, I can adjust shipping costs to ship this cover with a pillow core included but it is expensive to ship pillows this way. It would be an additional $8.00 to include the pillow form plus an additional approx. $9.50 more to ship USPS priority mail within the U.S. from CA to an east coast address when the pillow core is included.

This item I have found to have so many uses --slip your BIBLE, PRAYER OR HARDBACK BOOK into the pouch to provide privacy and protection (the quilted fabric makes it well padded) a good alternative to using a hard to find custom self-fitting book cover for your large books. Holds books up to 9 1/2 inches high by 6 1/2 inches wide across cover with 1 1/2 inch binding. This unlined pre-quilted fabric pouch measures approx. 12 inches wide by 9 inches high with a 3 inch bottom miter.

Utilize this pouch as an evening clutch bag, for cosmetics, electronics or even for large amounts of medication when traveling. Dog lovers have used this pouch to hold travel items for their pets—like a collapsible dog bowl, water bottle, leash and potty bags—keep all in one place to grab when you go out on a walk.

Tired of the few choices of gift items for SENIORS AND THE DISABLED? The few mass produced bag designs that are available from home health centers may be practical but they all look alike and are usually made out of boring, dark, solid colored nylon. I thought that seniors and those with special needs might just like to have other choices so took a survey to find out what types of bags would not only be useful but also give a disabled person back some sense of dignity and style and came up with this smaller zippered wrist strap pouch to hold and hide such essential yet unmentionable items such as adults’ Depends or other hygiene supplies. This pouch is just the right size to hold a few changes to discretely take in with you to the restroom.

The outer pocket spans the width of the pouch (hard to see in photo) with enough room to hold a small note pad, eyeglasses or keys. A small piece of Velcro helps to keep this outer pocket closed and there is a special slot at the edge of the long pocket to slip in a pen to keep within easy reach. The zipper has a split ring to act as a zipper pull for easy grasping and also provides a place for a tag, charm, keys or hook. The wrist strap loop makes the pouch easy to hang on to especially for arthritic hands.

The inside of the bag (back side of pre-quilted fabric) usually comes in a natural colored muslin but can be a solid dark blue, navy or red with the darker designs or occasionally a subtle print. The fabric is pre-quilted in squares measuring approx. 5/8”

This will not fit hardback books since the bindings aren’t flexible enough to bend to slip on the cover.

Note: I am now carrying 3 sizes of book covers. My customers will usually purchase the standard size first (since it fits most older books) then the more recent Premium size and for a third option this text/large size.

This paperback book cover is a perfect way to keep what you are reading private. The unique design has handles that allow you to easily tote it around with you when you travel by slipping it over your arm or grasping the handle like you would a purse—or even hang it on a set of handlebars at the gym. The Velcro tab fastener keeps the book from opening unexpectedly and not only losing your place, but having the book fall out of the cover. This larger sized book cover is made of 100% cotton (80% of my fabrics are imported directly from Japan and stored in a smoke free environment) lightly interfaced and fully lined with a carefully chosen fabric that compliments the cover design. This larger size fits paperback books measuring a maximum size of 8 1/4 inches tall by 5 3/8 inches wide with a spine up to 1 1/4 inches deep. This larger size is known as a trade or text size paperback and this size paperback book covers fits many but not all paperbacks in this size range since there is such a wide variation published. This will not fit hardback books since the bindings aren’t flexible enough to bend to slip on the cover.

Note: I am now carrying 3 sizes of book covers. My customers will usually purchase the standard size first (since it fits most older books) then the more recent Premium size and for a third option this text/large size.

Use this roomy sling-type purse as a market bag to hold your produce while shopping at open-air vegetable and fruit markets or to fill up with the day to day items we moms need to have on hand when we travel to take care of family needs—for family outings it can hold: a change of clothes/jackets for the kids, picnic lunches for the park, as a diaper bag for the baby--it has even been used as a dog carrier to hold a small dog! The bag can be conveniently rolled up to tuck away in the car glove compartment or inside another bag until needed.

Made of 100% cotton--80% of the fabrics I use are imported directly from Japan and stored in a smoke free environment. Bag is fully lined with a carefully chosen complimentary fabric (most are traditional Japanese designs) and has no raw exposed seams. If desired, clip off the fabric tags from the inside and the bag could be reversible.

The bag is open top style for easy access with a one button and loop closure--no additional pockets inside. If flattened out on a table, the front measures approx. 13 inches in length from front button to bottom seam, and 20 1/2 inches across (so girth of bag measures approximately 41 inches around). Total length with handle tied approximately 24 inches. The dimensions of the oval shaped bottom of bag approx. 8 inch by 16 inch--very roomy.
Length of strap can be adjusted in a bit (if necessary) by retying shoulder square knot in more from the end. For petite or small women, the strap will reach diagonally across your body—but will be too snug under your arm for plus sized women to wear this way. For the handicapped, the two sides of the straps can be tied separately onto strollers, walkers or wheelchairs. For a more secure/permanent application, add your own buttons and button holes (or Velcro) on each of the straps to attach to these to walking aids.

Decorative knife edge throw pillow sham-backed COVERS set of 2 approx. 20 inches square made from lightweight 100% cotton fabric handkerchief. The pillow front cover is composed of several layers (cotton underlining, firm batting, another layer of cotton underlining and the cover piece) to make a slightly padded and durable cover. The sham back is made of overlapping sections of corduroy fabric so that this can be taken off the pillow form to clean. Spot cleaning or dry cleaning recommended. One of the most popular items I make is this versatile quilted Handy Tote. It is the perfect size for most everyone’s' needs from grandmothers to young children. Use this convenient one compartment, over the shoulder pouch when you only want to carry a few basic items with you. Use the strap across the chest and this pouch works well for cane users. This pouch can be utilized to hold items in combination when you travel--perhaps just your checkbook, sunglasses, credit cards and cell phone.

Crafters can use the pouch to hold small scissors and other sewing aids. When taking a trip, the pouch can be worn close to your body under your jacket for extra security while traveling.

Cord measures approx. 40-44 inches around--to adjust length just knot the cord at the top. Pouch measures 6 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches long with 1/2 inch bottom miters.

This magnifier is just what you need to read that tiny print on a pill bottle, map or on a menu. It comes in its own decorative quilted pouch. The quilted outer pouch measures 3 1/4" by 3" and has a Velcro flap closure.

The magnifier is made by Carson tm Optics--this type is called a MagniFliptm. It is a compact 3X power "flip-open" with a built in hard plastic cover. This crystal clear acrylic lens magnifier measures approx. 2 1/4" square by 1/2" deep.

The 100% pre-quilted cotton used for the pouch is imported directly from Japan and stored in a smoke free environment.

Use this roomy sling-type purse as a market bag to hold your produce while shopping at open-air vegetable and fruit markets or to fill up with the day to day items we moms need to have on hand when we travel to take care of family needs—for family outings it can hold: a change of clothes/jackets for the kids, picnic lunches for the park, as a diaper bag for the baby--it has even been used as a dog carrier to hold a small dog! The bag can be conveniently rolled up to tuck away in the car glove compartment or inside another bag until needed.

Bag is fully lined with a carefully chosen complimentary fabric (most are traditional Japanese designs) and has no raw exposed seams. If desired, clip off the fabric tags from the inside and the bag could be reversible.

The bag is open top style for easy access with a one button and loop closure--no additional pockets inside. If flattened out on a table, the front measures approx. 13 inches in length from front button to bottom seam, and 20 1/2 inches across (so girth of bag measures approximately 41 inches around). Total length with handle tied approximately 24 inches. The dimensions of the oval shaped bottom of bag approx. 8 inch by 16 inch--very roomy.
Length of strap can be adjusted in a bit (if necessary) by retying shoulder square knot in more from the end. For petite or small women, the strap will reach diagonally across your body—but will be too snug under your arm for plus sized women to wear this way. For the handicapped, the two sides of the straps can be tied separately onto strollers, walkers or wheelchairs. For a more secure/permanent application, add your own buttons and button holes (or Velcro) on each of the straps to attach to these to walking aids.

This open topped tote was designed with computer lap tops in mind. It is wider at the top and shallower in depth and is designed for easy accessibility. The longer handles allow for the option of over the shoulder carrying ease.
There is extra support built into the bottom of the bag by the addition of a self-fabric encased plastic stiffener.

This makes for a sturdy book bag / lap top bag. This tote is NOT recommended for stitchery projects since the Velcro closure strip (located along the center top of the bag) can catch on yarn or other needlepoint projects but if you wish to purchase the bag to carry yarn I can remove the Velcro strips on request before shipping.

A 9 inch deep pocket extends across the width of the front exterior of the bag and is divided into 3 pocket sections by the webbing strapping that becomes the handles. The pocket is hard to see in the photograph. These pockets are handy to hold your sunglasses, pens/pencils, cell phone, etc. Front measures approximately 17 inches wide by 14 inches deep. 3 inch width bottom miter. Handles (made out of either sturdy nylon, polyester or all cotton webbing) measure 24 inches around.

This larger size fits paperback books measuring a maximum size of 8 1/4 inches tall by 5 3/8 inches wide with a spine up to 1 1/4 inches deep.

This larger size is known as a trade or text size paperback and this size paperback book covers fits many but not all paperbacks in this size range since there is such a wide variation published. This will not fit hardback books since the bindings aren’t flexible enough to bend to slip on the cover.

Note: I am now carrying 3 sizes of book covers. My customers will usually purchase the standard size first (since it fits most older books) then the more recent Premium size and for a third option this text/large size.

Use this convenient one compartment, over the shoulder pouch when you only want to carry a few basic items with you. Use the strap across the chest and this pouch works well for cane users. I designed this travel/nap pillow so that it comes with its own built in handle so it can be easily carried even when your arms are full and you can hang it up to keep it off the floor when not in use.

Kids find keeping one in their cubby at school along with their favorite blankie from home--convenient for nap time. It is also nice to have along on long car and boat trips, for camping and at stadium games. Comes in handy at work to tuck behind your back for extra support in your chair at your work station.

Know a frequent traveler? Airlines pillows aren't all that sanitary if you can get one and, in the near future, domestic airlines will be phasing out their free pillows or charging for them to cut their costs.

The front of this pillow measures 15 inches wide by approximately 11 inches high. Made of 100% cotton (80% of our fabrics are imported directly from Japan) and stored in a smoke free environment, the overlapping sham back cover is easily removed for laundering. Inside seams are all finished with a professional serger machine. Because of the natural 100% cotton fabric, pressing is required after laundering. This is a Small Size Wall Hanging: 18 inches wide by 29 1/2 inches high including tabs. This measurement is the actual width of the wall hanging itself—does not include any rod measurement.

This is a hand-guided, machine-quilted, fabric-framed printed or silk screened solid panel(tenugui)— front panel is not individually pieced. The special way the individual layers of polyester/and or cotton batting are combined, brings out depth and dimension to these specially selected panels.

These Japanese inspired quilted wall hangings are individually hand crafted by myself--not mass produced. Each panel is unique with the choices of coordinating fabrics used to frame each piece. 80% of all my fabrics come from Japan. These wall hangings bring a unique and refreshing change from the usual Japanese scroll, poster or art work.

Description: Daruma in bright red, white, black and yellow gold on a yellow gold background. Black traditional kasuri woven-look patterned border.

Design Motif History: The Daruma, a round doll without arms or legs, is traditionally made out of papier-mache and painted red with the kanji for "luck" on its generous belly. It is a representation of Bodhidharma, an Indian sage and the founder of Zen Buddhism, who is said to have lost the use of his limbs after meditating in a cave for nine years. As the doll will right itself when knocked over it symbolizes overcoming misfortunes and demonstrates the saying "fall down seven times, get up eight."

The doll also represents the single-mindedness of its namesake to achieve a goal. The Daruma comes in many sizes and is sold with blank eyes, one eye to be painted in when a person makes a wish or resolution, and the other when their goal is attained. Even today it is common to see politicians paint in the second eye of a Daruma when they've won their elections.

This panel was designed by Keiji Kawakami, the owner of Fujiya in Asakusa, Japan. Kawakami, now in his 80's, has been designing decorative tenugui (kazari) since 1955. Not only is he famous for his own original dyed designs, but also for reviving classic motifs dating back to the 18th century. He only adds about a dozen new designs a year to his collection and tenugui-lovers flock to his shop to purchase them seasonally.

This is a Scroll Size Wall Hanging: 16 1/2 inches wide by 48 1/2 inches high including tabs. This measurement is the actual width of the wall hanging itself—does not include any rod measurement.

This is a hand-guided, machine-quilted, fabric-framed printed or silk screened solid panel (tenugui)— front panel is not individually pieced. The special way the individual layers of polyester/and or cotton batting are combined, brings out depth and dimension to these specially selected panels.

These Japanese inspired quilted wall hangings are individually hand crafted by myself--not mass produced. Each panel is unique with the choices of coordinating fabrics used to frame each piece. 90% of all my fabrics come from Japan. These wall hangings bring a unique and refreshing change from the usual Japanese scroll, poster or art work.

For followers of feng shui, serene scenes bring good chi to one’s home.

Description: Bamboo in jade green on a light charcoal gray background with subtle crosshatch jade fabric border. The photo doesn't do this design justice--the gray is less yellow than pictured and the jade green much richer).

Design Motif History: Bamboo (take) grows straight and resilient and is hollow inside so that nothing is hidden. It is a symbol of all the things a Japanese child should learn in order to become of noble character. Poets write about the sound of the wind rustling through its leaves, a famous story tells of a princess being born from bamboo, and it has been used as a motif in Japanese art from early times because of its grace and beauty.

This panel was designed by Keiji Kawakami, the owner of Fujiya in Asakusa, Japan. Kawakami, now in his 80's, has been designing decorative tenugui (kazari) since 1955. Not only is he famous for his own original dyed designs, but also for reviving classic motifs dating back to the 18th century. He only adds about a dozen new designs a year to his collection and tenugui-lovers flock to his shop to purchase them seasonally.

Made from a Japanese furoshiki (wrapping cloth) this heavy weight fabric panel of a (synthetic/cotton blend) is ready to hang. Requires a 3/4 inch diameter top decorative curtain rod and a 1/2 inch wooden dowel for bottom casing (for proper hanging weight and to keep the wall hanging straight). Rod and dowel not included. Unlike most of my wall hangings, this one is unquilted.

Size: 44 inches wide by 42 inches high.

These wall hangings bring a unique and refreshing change from the usual Japanese scroll, poster or art work.

Design Motif History: Sakura, or cherry blossoms, which bloom for only a week each spring, are synonymous in Japan with the brief duration of youthful beauty and the transitory nature of life itself. When the cherry trees blossom it is cause for celebration in the form of "hanami" or blossom viewing parties. The clouds of delicate pink tinted blossoms that cover the trees are truly short lived miracles worth a poem and a cup of sake in praise.In this design, sakura are combined with chrysanthemums, a symbol of autumn and longevity, as well as "kiri" or paulownia. According to Chinese legend, kiri is a tree favored by the phoenix. Considered to be a noble design, it has become, along with the chrysanthemum, a symbol of the emperor.

Use this convenient one compartment, over the shoulder pouch when you only want to carry a few basic items with you.

This pouch can be utilized to hold items in combination when you travel --perhaps just your checkbook, sunglasses, credit cards and cell phone.

Crafters can use the pouch to hold small scissors and other sewing aids.

When taking a trip, the pouch can be worn close to your body under your jacket for extra security while traveling.

Cord measures approx. 38-40 inches around--to adjust length just knot the cord at the top. Pouch measures 6 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches long with 1/2 inch bottom miters.

The backside (interior) of the pre-quilted fabric, in most cases, is made of muslin which is off-white in color--but some of the quilted fabrics will come backed in a dark solid color or a subtle print. Pouch can be laundered (cold cycle/drip dry) but spot cleaning recommended to retain color.

One of the most popular items I make is this versatile quilted Handy Tote. It is the perfect size for most everyone’s' needs from grandmothers to young children. It’s a great size for carrying a small needlework project, sheet music or wide enough to hold a 1-1/2 inch spine 10 by 11-1/2 inch notebook.

The handles on this tote are long enough to hang over your shoulder--tucking the tote up under your arm but not too long to carry comfortably down by your side if you prefer.
A divided exterior front pocket extends across the width on one side of the tote to hold your cell phone or glasses (hard to see the front pocket in the photos).

This simple tote is unlined, has open top without fastener--no additional pockets inside. Inside seams are all finished with a professional serger machine. Know a frequent traveler? Airlines pillows aren't all that sanitary if you can get one and, in the near future, domestic airlines will be phasing out their free pillows or charging for them to cut their costs.

The front of this pillow measures 15 inches wide by approximately 11 inches high. Made of 100% cotton (80% of our fabrics are imported directly from Japan) and stored in a smoke free environment, the overlapping sham back cover is easily removed for laundering. Inside seams are all finished with a professional serger machine. Because of the natural 100% cotton fabric, pressing is required after laundering. Pillow core is 100% polyester fill with its own plain cotton cover.

Description: Lady's kimono in periwinkle, soft green, pink, and peach with metallic gold outlining. Off white background. Border in rich shades of light to dark cream.

Design Motif History: The "jyunihitoe" or "twelve-layered garment" was worn by court ladies in the Heian Era (794-1192). this elaborate style of dress was characterized by the use of 12 layers of different colors of outer and inner garments (called kasane no shokumoku) arranged to show at the neckline, sleeve openings and hem. Elegant colors (it is said that nearly 200 in all were available) that mimicked the rich array of flowers, grasses and other plant life that bloom during the year in Japan, were chosen and coordinated with the utmost care to match the subtleties of the changing seasons. A figure thus dressed, viewed from behind, was considered to be the height of beauty.

Design Motif History: Fuji, the sacred mountain of Japan frames the peonies braving the cold in the foreground. The peony plant (botan) originally entered Japan during the Nara era from china where it was called kao, or king of flowers, and because it is such a gorgeous flower, it was a symbol of good fortune, nobility of spirit and wealth and fame. Peonies gained popularity around the Heian era among the warrior class and remained so through the Kamakura and Muromachi eras. They were at their popular best during the opulence of the Momoyama era, when then were not only used as motifs on clothing and personal belongings, but carved in building edifices.

This panel was designed by Keiji Kawakami, the owner of Fujiya in Asakusa, Japan. Kawakami, now in his 80's, has been designing decorative tenugui (kazari) since 1955. Not only is he famous for his own original dyed designs, but also for reviving classic motifs dating back to the 18th century. He only adds about a dozen new designs a year to his collection and tenugui-lovers flock to his shop to purchase them seasonally.

Design Motif History: Long ago in China, goldfish (kingyo) were considered lucky symbols as the word for "fish" and "plenty" were pronounced the same in Chinese. Fish often appeared on wedding goods as a symbol that means "lots of time" for the newly weds. In Japan, with some exceptions, this custom is no longer practiced. Instead, goldfish seem to have become a symbol of summer. Each panel is unique with the choices of coordinating fabrics used to frame each piece. 90% of all my fabrics come from Japan. These wall hangings bring a unique and refreshing change from the usual Japanese scroll, poster or art work.

This is a Scroll Size Wall Hanging: 18 inches wide by 49 inches high including tabs. This measurement is the actual width of the wall hanging itself—does not include any rod measurement.

This is a hand-guided, machine-quilted, fabric-framed printed or silk screened solid panel (tenugui)— front panel is not individually pieced. The special way the individual layers of polyester/and or cotton batting are combined, brings out depth and dimension to these specially selected panels.

Description: Design in shades of blues, lavender, royal purple and soft blue green with medium blue mottled border.

Motif Design History: Although the type of iris usually seen in Japan today is of the hana shobu variety (with larger lower petals and shorter upper standards than the ones pictured here) these ayame iris were probably the type that were common in ancient Japan. It was once believed that iris gave protection from the evil spirits that were abroad on the fifth day of the fifth month, and traditionally boys would bathe with the sword-like leaves on this day as the iris also symbolizes the warrior spirit. The iris is still displayed on May 5th as part of what was once Tango no Sekku but has now become known as Children's Day.

Description: Famous waterfall located in Nikko Japan delicately depicted in pale 'brush strokes' of clear blue. Light sage green foliage and gray rocks with black outlining. Border in subtle stripe of darker green on light green.

Design Motif History: It is said that if you haven't seen Nikko then you don't know the meaning of "magnificent." Nikko, about two hours by car or train north of Tokyo, is renowned not only for its shrines and temples (which were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999) but for its natural beauty as well. The Kegon Falls, one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan, is a major attraction for tourists who visit Nikko. The Oshiri River, originating from Lake Chuzenji, makes a sheer drop 10 meters wide and 97 meters down as it cascades over a huge horseshoe chasm creating a mist that produces an almost constant rainbow effect. Whether viewed from above, or below, it is truly a magnificent sight.

This panel was designed by Keiji Kawakami, the owner of Fujiya in Asakusa, Japan. Kawakami, now in his 80's, has been designing decorative tenugui (kazari) since 1955. Not only is he famous for his own original dyed designs, but also for reviving classic motifs dating back to the 18th century. He only adds about a dozen new designs a year to his collection and tenugui-lovers flock to his shop to purchase them seasonally.

It is said to have been laid out during the Muromachi Era by Soami, a famous painter and gardener who died in 1525. Design Motif History: There is an old Chinese tale of a hare that resides in the moon who pounds the magic herbs to make the elixir of eternal life. This belief was assimilated by the Japanese who instead see the hare in the moon pounding mochi or rice cakes so you'll find hares associated with the full moon and the fall season in Japanese motifs. Here, two hares play in the light of a full autumn moon among fall flowers (Mochizuki).
