This wonderful ring will "elevate your attitude" whenever you need it! The ring is created totally by cold connection - and made in a workshop with Kim St. Jean. The two flat glass beads at the top were made by glass artist Julia Benson Slaughter. The wide ring shank is made of copper that I textured to look like raindrops and it's about a size 10. One of my customers bought a similar one with the remark, "I could walk through any parking lot at night and feel safe with that ring on - that could be a tool for protection!" I suggest that instead, you wear it for fun and as a conversation starter!

The genuine turquoise beads in this necklace have been impregnated with resin to make them harder and more resistant to chipping (which is often a bit of a problem with unprotected turquoise). They are beautifully faceted so they give off a bit of gleam as they move. I have hand wrapped and connected the beads with sterling silver wire to add to the look.

The necklace is approximately 17 inches long, however I can extend it with silver chain to 20 inches at an additional $5.00.

Moss Agate Circle Pendant

This beautiful, but delicate necklace is perfect to wear all year round. The one pictured sold immediately after listing, however I have materials to do a couple additional ones. I am now using a slightly larger sterling chain with only one strand - I like the look better. The makings on the moss agate will be slightly different and the large pearl will probably have slightly different makings.

The quarter sized circle of moss agate with "dangles" of a large creamy FW pearl, a small green FW pearl and a fine silver leaf is carried on the 16 sterling chain. You may request an 18" chain, if you prefer - at no extra cost, but you need to tell me after checkout.

The moss agate round is beautifully translucent with Moss like" inclusions that weave through the stone in cloud like shapes. I also have a rectangle (app 1" by 2") if you like that shape better.

My newest "Kentuckyism" - "Ain't Nothin' Easy" - a Kentucky reminder that life is difficult, but well worth the struggle - the photo is of another Kentuckyism, but similar to the look of the new one.

How y'all doin'? Yes, I'm from the south. Yes, I'm happy about it. And, in the south, we have all these happy phrases that mean so much to our southern heritage. We love to wear 'em and also share 'em with all y'all Yankees. :-)

I have created a collection called "Kentcky Speaks" that I sell here in my area, but they also work well to represent our wonderful speech in any part of the South - (I think the South deserves a capital letter :-)) These pieces consist of necklaces and bracelets with some of our favorites Southern sayings.

One of the most common is repeated when you want to say something negative about a person (which really isn't a good thing, anyway, is it?). You make the negative comment and then you follow it with this phrase and it makes everything fine.
Examples: "He's ugly as sin, "bless his heart" or
"She's gained a lot of weight, bless her heart." or
"Are you still dating him? - well, bless your heart".

After sawing this rectangle with the softened corners (because all us Southerners have soft shoulders, right?) I have stamped it with Southern sunshine and one of my favorite phrases.

This pendant will come to you on one of my many colors of Greek leather - black, pink, red, olive, moss gray, navy blue, tan, dk. brown, and a natural rustic leather. Quilt Piece Initial Necklace - for that Special Someone

The photos don't show the entire necklace, but this sale is comprised of the charm in the photos (stamped with the initial of your choice) carried on a sterling silver chain - in your choice of lengths up to 20 inches.

These charms are designed and fabricated to look like a quilt piece - the small square with the initial stamped on it has marks around it - to look like tiny quilt stitches. I make these with any initial you wish. - and being hand made, they are all slightly different. The charm is made entirely of sterling silver, sawed to shape and soldered with lead free silver solder. The charms are approximately 3/4 of an inch square in size. Since each charm is individually made the size can vary slightly. The charm in the photo is an example - you can see one with a "A" on it - and also one with a "B". I have one that is blank, so that I can stamp it with the letter you want.

Three Ring Silver and Leather Bracelet

Three dime sized hammered links are connected by sets of triple jump rings and secured to beautiful, supple Greek leather to form this unique bracelet.

This bracelet is also in my Quietly Christian collection - Known as the Trinity Bracelet.

I forge all the silver circles and jump rings myself from sterling silver wire. The easy to use, but secure clasp is also hand forged. This bracelet is custom made to fit when you order - other wise it will fit a 7 to 7.5 inch wrist. Since these are all totally forged from silver wire - there are slight differences in different bracelets, (for example, you can see that there are two different styles of movable sterling beads on the leather) but your bracelet will look like the one in the picture and I will be making it to your specific needs.

It is currently being made with black leather as shown in the first picture. The look against the silver is stunning, but the natural finish leather is also available - as well as some additional leather colors (grassy green, olive green, purple, sage, red, dk.brown and caramel. DULCIMER NECKLACE

This listing is for the pendant on a hand sawed piece of sheet silver (22 gauge thickness) that is about 3/4 inch wide and app. 1.5 inches long. Since these are all created by hand and individually, they vary slightly.

This small cloisonne style dulcimer has been attached to a hand forged sterling silver backing. The edges of the silver have been beveled with my planishing hammer.

I make several versions of the dulcimer necklace - either with a plain leather necklace as shown - or a more decorative version with beads and silver tubing. Some versions are made with a repurposed sterling silver spoon (and some are with a silver plated spoon) instead of the sawed silver. Some are stamped with the dulcimers favorite two words - "dum diddy" and some are stamped with the name of a favorite dulcimer group. All these shown are approximately the size of a teaspoon. The price varies with the type silver used and the amount of labor involved. Contact me if you are interested in any of the other styles in the pictures and I will quote prices for you.

These are also available for purchase with the dulcimer pendant only and you can supply the necklace. The last picture shows some different instruments that can go on a silver necklace. Other musical instruments are available, so let me know if you need something special.

MICHELLE, A Simple Classic Necklace

This necklace is probably the most popular of all the pieces I make. The name was chosen because the first two people who bought it were named Michelle. I thought that was special, so that became the name of the necklace and since then, it has been purchased by other Michelles.

The forged circle is larger than a nickel, but usually a bit smaller than a quarter. It can be hammered flat or with the hammer dents showing - I like the hammered facets, so unless you CONTACT ME with your choice, that's what I'll create for you. The coin pearl ranges from a 10mm to 11mm and the pendant is carried on a soft and supple Greek leather necklace - which has a 3 inch extender weighted with a Bali sterling silver bead. (The bead at the end of the extender chain is an example of various Bali beads that may be used - others will be similar) The necklace is 16 inches but with the extender, it becomes an 19 inch necklace.

My jewelry is all hand made or forged by me and consequently, there are very slight variations in some pieces. That is the nature (and the charm) of hand forged jewelry.

This necklace is so much fun to wear! And, the ring pendant hangs down quite far so it looks great on a fall sweater, or with a low necked dress. I've hand forged three rings - size is usually slightly smaller than a nickel (since this is hand forged and hand hammered, the size will vary slightly with each one - but that is the charm of hand forged metal as opposed to a machine made piece.) The heavy (made from heavy 12 gauge sterling silver wire) hammered rings are linked together with jump rings that I also make in my studio. The string of hammered rings hangs about 3 to 3.5 inches below the buttery soft Greek leather.

I have several colors of leather available (convo me to indicate you choice) and it's also available on a 30 inch length of tan or black microsuede so you can tie it in a bow and wear it in various lengths.

WhoSoEver Charm Necklace

This sterling silver and brass necklace serves as a reminder of one of the favorite scriptures of Christians. The entire charm for the necklace is made by me - beginning with cutting/sawing the sheet silver into a "dog-tag" shape and making the brass piece just wide enough to cover the scripture. The silver tag is approximately 1.25" wide by .75" wide - so, this is a fairly large piece.

Both pieces are carefully filed to make them safe to the touch, then the letters are individually stamped and the entire pieces are oxidized to black in liver of sulpher (phew!!!). They are then polished to a high shine - leaving the dark recesses of the letters and both pieces are tumbled over night to harden them.

The piece is carried on a beautiful sterling silver link chain (the picture shows them on a wire). I wear mine as a way to witness my Christian faith. This one displays the favorite scripture of many Christians, but I do several combinations - i.e.

I absolutely love these earrings! They are very light weight and they have a bit of wiggle or movement to them, but the very best part is that I don't need to wear the little rubber backs to keep them from falling off. With these, I just line up the end of the earwire with the hole in the earlobe, gently push it through and keep twisting. Viola! Earring inserted - and it won't come off until I take it off by reversing the process. I use ONLY sterling silver wire and the completed earring will spend 12 to 24 hours in a tumbler to harden the earring and keep the coil stable.

I have changed the closure in some of the bracelets - the picture shows a pewter heart, but I have noticed that my sterling silver gravity hook works better and lasts longer- so I have gone to that type closure. The last picture shows that clasp.

Bali Centerpiece with Onyx Necklace

This is a very unusual necklace - somewhat victorian in appearance. It is rather delicate looking - yet very substantial. The large bead was hand forged in Bali, Indonesia and is made of a sterling silver bead, thin sterling silver wire and sterling granules - all carefully soldered onto the silver bead. A grouping of beautifully faceted black onyx rondells were strung on sterling siler wire and attached to the bead. The chain is 16 inches and the centerpiece has about a two inch drop.

If I have a philosophy of life, I think this is it. If I live every day to its fullest, if I laugh often and love much - I think everything will be at its best.

This is one of the necklaces from my Quietly Christian collection - and one of my favorites.

The chain is made of sections of sterling silver chain, with the connections made of faceted aventurine rondells.

The centerpiece of the necklace is a sterling silver rectangle with a fold formed section of copper (which gives the hills the cracks and crevices to look realistic) that I have carefully sawed from 22 gauge copper sheet. After forming the "hills", they were soldered to the silver piece and all was dipped into liver of sulfer solution to oxidize them to blackness and then the entire piece was carefully polished with 0000 steel wool and then tumbled overnight.

This one is sold, but I can form another one for you. Let me know of your specific wishes in terms of the length of the chain. I can make it as long as 20 inches at no extra cost.

Copper is Cool - Earrings

These copper hoops are the ultimate in swingy earrings. The copper hoops have been flattened in my rolling mill to make them large but lightweight - and the faceted quartz rondells add the swing and bling. After the rolling mill, the hoops have been textured with my "raindrop" hammer, oxidized in liver of sulpher and hit with a tiny bit of heat to bring up some little splotches of red in the copper.

These earrings are over 2 inches from the top of the earwire, so they are "major earrings".

Sterling Silver - Hand Forged Teardrops

These teardrop shaped earwires are soldered and will be attached to ear wires rather than studs. The studs proved to be unreliable and until I locate more sturdy ones, I will be attaching the teardrops to hand forged earwires. The teardrops are forged from 18 gauge sterling silver wire and then hammered to give them a rustic look with lots of divets for catching the light when you move. The earrings are then tumbled overnight to harden the silver. This pair is sold, but I make these often - they are very popular at shows when people see them in person. Since they are made by hand, another pair may vary slightly, but the difference would probably not be noticeable.

Much of my jewelry is produced after your purchase to allow me to make the special changes that discriminating customers sometimes desire. Please allow a week or two for completion - it has seldom ever taken that long, but I'd prefer you be pleased with quick shipment than to be disappointed that it takes a while. This is a hand stamped heavy piece of sterling silver (20 gauge) which has been hand stamped with the words "I'M BLESSED". Accenting the stamped tag is a pearl and an amazonite bead with Bali accents. That can be changed if you prefer. The pendant size is app. 1/2 inch X 1 inch. Since each piece is sawed from a piece of silver sheet and hand stamped, these will vary slightly in both size and appearance.

The photos show the pendant on a 16 inch fine cable necklace, but I am now using a larger (2mm) filed curb chain with my hand forged clasp. It's easy to use and very protective and the chain doesn't kink like a cable chain will.

This necklace is probably the most popular of all the pieces I make. The name was chosen because the first two people who bought it were named Michelle. I thought that was special, so that became the name of the necklace and since then, it has been purchased by other Michelles.

The forged circle is larger than a nickel, but usually a bit smaller than a quarter. It can be hammered flat or with the hammer dents showing - I like the hammered facets, so unless you CONTACT ME with your choice, that's what I'll create for you. The coin pearl ranges from a 10mm to 11mm and the pendant is carried on a soft and supple Greek leather necklace - which has a 3 inch extender weighted with a Bali sterling silver bead. (The bead at the end of the extender chain is an example of various Bali beads that may be used - others will be similar) The necklace is 16 inches but with the extender, it becomes an 19 inch necklace.

This bracelet is ENTIRELY made by hand in my Bowling Green, Ky studio. I shape the 16 gauge sterling silver wire into beautiful swirls and then hammer them slightly to harden them. I make my own jump rings to link all the swirls together. Even the clasp is my own fabrication and the individual "swirls" have been slightly curved to lay gently on the wrist.

When the bracelet is completed, I tumble it for hours or overnight for shine and further hardening.

This is one example of a hand stamped Mother's necklace that I enjoy making. I cut the 7/8 inch disks myself of 24 gauge sterling silver - and after stamping the names in them, I dap them into a dome shape and oxidize them with liver of sulpher. This necklace (or my three ring one) is a staple in the jewelry box of many of my customers. I've hand forged these rings - they are about the size of a nickel - and linked each with three of my hand forged jump rings. The rings hang approximately 2 inches below the leather.
