A little trim was used over the yellow strip.

There are two pieces of cardstock covered with fabric that fused the front to the back for stability.

This is my design original and I retain the copyrights. Limited Edition prints will be made and sold at a lower cost. This will be the only original made exactly like this one.

The term ACEO stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals. When I see this piece on my wall, it looks like it was made with clay. I can see what appears to be finger trails and marks. This image is leading me to a different type of art. It looks like a sculpture. The colors that were chosen were ony 12. The last image is the original photo that I used as my model. This palette will be used again in another image, so check my page often.

No paint was used even though it looks just like a painting. To begin the process, a photo was scanned into the computer, a pattern was created, batik and hand dyed fabrics were selected and fused onto a lightweight tricot using a mini iron. Original photo is for comparison only.

The process takes 80-100 hours for a size 27"x31" and sometimes the pieces are so little (1/4") it can fit on you fingernail with plenty of room to see your nail! Stand away from computer to view for full effect.

The fabric selections seems to be the key in obtaining the painted look, even though I like to think that I have a little talent! Have a photo? Personal commissions welcomed.

The image is shipped rolled in a tube. When you open it, you can iron it flat by placing a piece of cotton fabric on your ironing board and also over the image and press (not iron) for a few seconds on cotton setting. It is now ready for framing. Select your choice of photo, priced separately and $7.00 shipping.

I have also taken closer views for you to see the fabric that I used. The bottom of the lemon is it's shadow, if you cannot tell.

The process took 10-12 hours to complete. It was an idea after I did a Mosaic of a lemon. I have taken photos of the original photo and close up of the finished piece for better views. You may have to stand away from your monitor to see it clearer. This was also a fun one to complete. The apple looks very nice in normal lighting, however when I dim the lights it really shines. I may decide to do one more of bananas to complete the trio.

I added strips of fabric using hand dyed and batik cotton fabrics to add color. This is the third of my collection. The first, my daughther Valencia claimed and the second was sold. Even though it was the same picture, they had totally different looks. This strip method of using fabrics are much easire and faster than my other Photo Art Quilts that takes more than 40 hours to complete. This can be done is less than half the time.

***TREASURY PICK ON MARCH 22 BY VICKIDIANEDESIGNS***

When I heard about the tragic news at Virginia Tech, I remembered that I had a photograph in black and white. I selected blues, greens, silver, white and black as the main colors to try to recreate it with fabric. I was unsure if I could capture a realistic water scene. The piece is made from small strips, rectangles and squares of fabric. It took about 400 hours to complete. Each hour that I worked on this wall art, I had a serene sense of calmness. While listening to the tragic news, I was making this beautiful work of art and feeling the senseless loss of our children gone forever. The water seemed to flow and I imagined listening to the sounds as it passed over the rocks. It was like free spirits making a way through the waters. When I stood away from the piece it really did capture the entire scene and made it come alive. It is breath taking. The palette was made using 9 batik and handdyed fabrics. It appears like many more colors were used because the selected fabrics have several colors within one piece. The focus was to make her lips red and the palette called for the same color red in nose, eyes and eyebrows. I was a little hesitant because this was a little out of my comfort zone. When it startind coming together, it was really extraordinary! I love it! I will definately try it again without worries.

It is beautiful in normal lighting, however when the lights are dim it takes on a different tone and comes alive! I do hope that my photography does it justice.

The two silhouettes where the faces come together is the shadow of "the kiss". One face is smaller (the female) than the other (male).

People have had different comments when they see this image. From mother and daughter, teen's first kisss, lovers kiss. You decide what you'd like the image to represent.

They are heads are both covered, scarf, wool cap, headress??
The female is wearing a large earring or it could be the wrapped knot of her scarf.

The piece could be African or Comptemporary. Some of the fabric used has a sheen or metallic feature.

Please dust with a duster and DO NOT WASH. The batik fabric has so many different colors in each piece, it looks more complex that it actually is.

This particular palette may be my new favorite. The colors were selected from light to dark hues and the content of the colors are similar in texture. This piece contains just the right mix to acheive an almost 3-D effect. You can really see the line spacing between his teeth. His moustache is lighter that his goatee, but you can see that too.

You may need to stand away from your computer for a better look. The image becomes clearer when you stand away from your monitor.

My medium is fabric and fusibles. The cotton pieces are fused to a lightweight backing. It is shipped rolled into a tube. When it arrives, simply lay it flat and cover the image with clean white paper and press (not iron) the shape flat. This will flatten out your image and protect your iron from the adhesives. It is ready to frame.

If you would prefer, I can apply a binding and a sleeve and you will be able to hang it on your own rod. For cleaning purposes, just dust with a furniture duster. DO NOT WASH IT. It is sprayed with acrylic and UV protectant spray.

What do you think they are discussing? This picture is so endearing. Again, I have used my usual batik, hand dyed and commercial cotton fabrics to complete this image. You can actually see their neck ties in the photo. You may need to sit back away from your computer to see it better. It reminds me a little of abstract art. I used twelve different fabrics for the palette. This one strikes a very tender cord in my heart. It has a sleeve on the back and is ready to hang.

THIS PIECE RECEIVED A FINE ARTS AWARD AT BOULER CITY'S 23RD ANNUAL FINE ARTS FESTIVAL ON APRIL 19 AND 20 IN BOULDER CITY, NEVADA!!!!!
