Complementing the stone is a 12 x 6mm Tibetan Mala Bead with beaded Copper inlay. The mala bead sits just below an etched bone round. The pendant is a total of 34mm in length from the bottom of the 18" sterling ball chain with traditional ball chain clasp.

These earrings feature the sparkling Sterling Silver Bali Bead that looks like home to dozens of little flowers in full bloom. Above the focal Bali Bead is a beautiful flat 18 x 12mm oval Kyanite stone topped by a simple, irregularly faceted Citrine rondelle. I love the natural Turquoise beads that are featured in this necklace. They range in size from 7 - 14mm in width and are stacked in threes with a larger stone place in the center with a variety of other elements and stones randomly but pleasingly placed around them. The center element is a grouping of 5 stones descending from the middle. The Turquoise is perfect in it's irregularity and asymmetry...exactly what I look for.

Other stones in this necklace include Carnelian, Citrine, Amethyst and Aventurine. Coral is a perfect complement to the Carnelian and the Turquoise with Sterling, Copper, Freshwater Pearl, Bone and a Tibetan Mala Bead to complete the piece. The toggle is Sterling Silver and the necklace is 19.5" in total length.

Large Prehnite Drop Earrings with Jet Pebbles

The Prehnite that is featured in these earrings is full of surprises. Beautiful shades of green with both black and mossy toned inclusions, smooth natural pits...whomever chose to transformed this rough, imperfect stone into the beads they are now was inspired...another lapidarian would tossed the stone...too pitted and imperfect at the start. One of the stones even has a very tiny, smooth, darker green stone forever traveling deep inside one of it's cracks and crannies. The stones are truly unique and transformative...

And...they are 38mm x 8mm and are complimented perfectly by the smooth, matte, irregularly tumbled Jet pebble that finishes the earrings at the top. These pebbles are wonderful...each unlike the next and so natural and weather-smoothed they look as though they could have been found gathered on the shores of some creek bed...The jet pebbles are around 9mm x 7mm each and the total length of the earrings is 55mm (2.125").

The earrings are wrapped in sterling sterling silver and they hang from sterling ear wires.

These earrings are an elegant and festive stack above a 6 x 5mm silver-white-rose toned Freshwater Pearl capped by a sterling spacer I've customized for this piece. Above the spacer is a stack of four simple freshwater pebbles in alternating tones of gently bronzed apricot and gold-kissed, softened green.

The earrings are just over 1" in length from the bottom of the sterling silver earring wire and they are wrapped in sterling as well.

Hand Faceted Labradorite and Citrine Nugget Earrings

Labradorite...here, irregularly faceted and unique...a bit square, a bit round, up to 12mm x 5mm with, of course, much variation amongst these two pairs. The flash in these beads is stunning in blues, greens and violet tones. Each short stack of two sits above the clear Citrine, hand faceted nugget-drop. Love the unpredictable angles of this faceting. Each Citrine bead is approximately 14mm x 10mm x 5mm.

The earrings hang form Sterling Silver earring wires and are 1.25'' in length. They are strung onto Sterling Silver.

These earrings are another in my Mala Bead series. The Mala bead is one of my favorite design elements. I use it, or variations of this type of bead in many designs. It just wants to be paired with other beads and appreciated. It is salvaged from the remains of an old Tibetan Prayer Mala. Prayer beads of this kind have a number of different types of inlay and these have a beaded band of Brass. This bead is 11mm x 4mm. You can see how the surface of the brass has been softened, worn smooth by the many hands that have held held and caressed it, keeping count of the mantras. For me, each bead carries with it the spirit of all of those prayers.

The Mala bead is stopped by this thick, smooth, lovely milky-cloud-filled-sky-blue 11 x 4mm Aquamarine Rondelle. An upright Freshwater Pearl tops the earrings.

The earrings are 17mm in total length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire. They are strung with Sterling Silver as well.

This necklace highlights thirteen gemstone pendants creating one colorful focal point. Each drop is about 1/2" in length and the flat Turquoise discs are 1/2" across. The pendants are made using striking combinations of Turquoise, Moonstone, Carnelian, Calcite, Apatite, Olive Jade, Aventurine and Freshwater Pearl. The drops are wrapped in Sterling Silver wire. They are surrounded and finished with unique black Vintage 5-sided irregular glass beads. The Vintage beads are accented by some of the beads in each of the pendants.

The last photo to the right is a shot of 5 pairs of earrings that are for sale separately in my shop and match the pendants in the necklace.

This pendant highlights this organic, natural Chinese Turquoise wheel that is wrapped with Sterling Silver. I've dimpled the sterling loop at the top for a beaded effect. The Turquoise is 20mm x 5mm and is rich in complex tones...brown, black, amber, green, blue. I love this type of Turquoise. It is not dyed and it is not stabilized so don't be too rough with it!

Carnelian, Calcite and Citrine... This strand is created using elements combining these three stones, highlighted by the lighter, soft orangy/creamsicly toned 12mm Calcite round surrounded by faceted 10mm Carnelian, smooth Carnelian rounds in varied shades of orange and amber with accents of flat and faceted Citrine rondelles. The tones in this piece are rich and complex and the stones really catch and seem to absorb the light.

These earrings are a stack of the most beautiful Citrine Rondelles I've found. They Citrine is rough-faceted and cut for inclusions rather than clarity which is why they have such an earty, organic feel to them. The bronze tone of the Freshwater Pearl brings out some of those organic tones in the Citrine.

The Citrine is 8mm x 5mm and the earrings are 1 1/8" in length measuring from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire. The stones are stacked and wrapped on a Sterling Silver pin.

These cairns are stacked with some of the most wonderful, rustic, unrefined, dull-finished Chinese Turquoise. The bottom element is a stack of five stones. The bottom stone in the stack is 27mm x 13mm and the entire stack is 42mm tall and is stopped by a copper beaded 12mm x 4mm Tibetan Mala bead. The element above it is a single 15mm x 7mm Turquoise bead between two copper beaded Mala beads. The lariat is attached between and moves easily through the two elements and the loop created using two mala beads with one serving as a wheel-pulley.

The length is 24" total for the top element and the bottom is 5" additional inches from the single element to the bottom of the cairn. It is strung onto 2mm, animal friendly waxed cotton.

This necklace is the ninth in my Cairn series and is inspired by some of my favorite Cairn stackers. You can read more about them here if you'd like:

These cairns are strung on thick waxed cotton cord and stacked with some of the most wonderful, rustic, unrefined, dull-finished Chinese Turquoise. The bottom element is a stack of five stones. The bottom stone in the stack is a lovely, carved irregular stone and is 21mm x 12mm and the entire stack is 43mm tall. The element above the cairn is a single 19mm x 6mm Turquoise bead between three textured brass heishi beads on either side. The lariat is attached between and moves easily through the two elements and the loop is adorned with the brass heishi I've customized for the piece.

The length is 26" total for the top element and the bottom is 5" additional inches from the single element to the bottom of the cairn.

I love the look and feel of this Turquoise. The stones are irregular, a bit unrefined, organic and natural in feel. They are a layering of three descending Turquoise round heishi and range in size from approximately 9mm x 3mm for the largest stone at the top to 7mm x 2mm at the bottom. They are a total of 1" in length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire. They are wrapped with a single strand of 24 gauge half-hard sterling silver wire and are secure and solidly wrapped. I've shaped a slight arc inward at the bottom so there appears to be a Left and a Right earring. Unless of course you prefer a sweep outward...the my Left becomes your Right!

Here, the 18 x 8mm Turquoise Wheel is paired with salvaged beaded brass that was inlaid onto a large Tibetan Mala bead. I've shaped it to serve as a bail for the stone and love the combination of the two. The total length of the pendant is 28mm. African Turquoise Pebble with Jet

These earrings have an organic, fluid, earthy feel to them. The African Turquoise is a beautiful, green stone with caramel rich inclusions. The stones are pebble like: rough-tumbled and each unique. They are accented with a similarly irregular Jet pebble, a bit rectangular in shape. Both stones are simply tumbled with no polish. The jet appears matte. FYI, Jet is a form of fossilized wood from the conifer tree and in both it's soft and hard form has been used in jewelry for thousands of years.

The earrings are 2.25" in length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver ear wire. The stones are wrapped in Sterling Silver as well.

Multi-Pendant Gemstone Necklace

This necklace is a combination of four individual pendants hung from a hammered Sterling Silver ring. One is a simple lavender toned Calcite rondell, one highlights a Vintage German melon shaped glass bead in tones of olive and brown with Apatite and Citrine, another is a lovely rough-faceted Carnelian nuggest with the Apatite rondell atop it and lastly the Citrine teardrop atop Apatite and Peridot.

The combined pendant measures 33mm from the top of the Sterling ring to the bottom of the Carnelian drop and is approximately 30mm in width when hanging loosely. The pendant hangs from an 18 Sterling Silver chain. The chains is also available in 16 or 20 inches if you prefer. Only Sterling is used for all wrapping, clasps and findings.

This necklace is a great mix of summer color combining showy shades of Coral, Carnelian, Moonstone, Aventurine, Citrine, Olive Jade and Amethyst. The colors are grounded by this smooth and chunky Coral bead, full of rich red color and beautiful pit markings. The Coral bead is 18mm across.

Turquoise Necklace, Cascade of Six

These Turquoise beads are a new favorite of mine and are the basis for my "Cascade" jewelry line. I love these stones ~ they are irregular, a bit unrefined, organic and natural in feel. They are a layering of six descending Turquoise round heishi and range in size from approximately 10mm x 3mm for the largest stone at the top to 8mm x 2mm at the bottom. The pendant is just over 2" in length from the bottom of the double-cotton cord. They are wrapped with a double strand of 24 gauge sterling silver wire and are secure and solidly wrapped. The loop at the top is slightly textured to create a beaded, or dimpled effect. I've shaped then pendant to have a slight right-arc.

The pendant is strung on a double-strand of lightly waxed 1.5mm cotton cord and the closure is a thick Turquoise heishi bead. The cord length is a total of 18".

This necklace incorporates Kyanite, Rutilated Quartz, Aquamarine, Carnelian and Calcite. It's a bit of a homage to Summer and the way it blends Water, Sun and Sky in a way that no other Season seems able to (or perhaps I'm just a Vermonter dreading the coming Winter...). The Pendant is a large Kyanite stone rich in deeply layered blue, silver and grey tones. The stone measures 30mm in length, 16mm in width and 5mm thick. It is surrounded by thick, flat Rutilated Quartz ovals (20mm x 15mm), 7mm Aquamarine rounds that have a clear, crisp tone, rich Carnelian rounds, Calcite flat ovals and 2 Kyanite coins that balance the piece.

This particular pendant is a paring of two elements. The 15 x 6mm stone at the bottom is a remarkable and unique. It has a strong swatch of stone grays and blacks thru the middle that looks a bit like wood grain. On the sides are bright blue Turquoise with touches of burnt ochre. The stone seems to have the effect of moving water...Above it is a thick, chunky hand faceted and irregular Labradorite rondell that so beautifully complements the complex gray of the stone beneath it. The pendant is a total 35mm in length. It hangs from a thick waxed cotton cord that is a total of 29" in length when fully extended and is adjustable.

Calcite Sun-Ball Necklace with Peridot and Carnelian Rondelles

This necklace was inspired by the Calcite Sun-Ball earrings in my shop and pictured last here. I love this round, unpolished Calcite ball and how the Carnelian draws out the rich, waxy, creamy yellow of the calcite. I woke up one morning picturing the grass green Peridot joining the Calcite and Carnelian to create this necklace.

The Calcite balls are 12mm round and the smooth Peridot rondelles are 5mm x 3mm. The Carnelian rondelles are irregular and more randomly tumbled and range from 5 - 3mm across and 3mm thick.

The necklace is 16.5" in total length and the clasp is Hill Tribe Sterling Silver

This pendant is a beautiful and natural blending of these three elements. The Turquoise is a thick, chunky, rough-hewn wheel - 21mm wide and 10mm thick. The Citrine is a faceted irregular rondelle and measures 8mm x 3mm.

The Mala bead that rests between the two Citrine is salvaged from the remains of an old Tibetan Prayer Mala. Prayer beads of this kind have a number of different types of inlay and this one has an alternating inlay of Turquoise and Coral. The Mala bead is about 11mm across and 7mm across. The core of the bead is Yak bone.

The pendant is 1.75" in total length and is wrapped with Sterling Silver and I've textured the top loop creating a signature dimpled, or beaded effect. It hangs from a 18" sterling silver ball chain with a traditional ball chain clasp. If you would prefer a different length chain, please contact me.

This necklace highlights my new favorite stone Calcite. You'll notice it in some of my more recent items and I just love working with it. The focal piece in this pendant is a large 46mm long, rough-cut, irregularly faceted Calcite stone. It is 23mm across and 10mm thick with a waxy, smooth, buttery texure. It's color tone is yellow/amber/butter/honey all in one. I use Calcite again in this piece at the top and this stone is a clear lemon-yellow tone and is a rough-cut nugget. Also surrounding the pendant is a unique orange/yellow cloudy-toned Citrine round and below it is Chinese Turquoise.

This necklace is strung on waxed cotton with knotting at the bottom of each bead. It is 21 inches in total length including the entire length of the pendant. The toggle is Hill Tribe Sterling Silver.

Cairn III

These cairns are stacked with some of the most wonderful, rustic, unrefined, dull-finished Chinese Turquoise. The bottom element is a stack of five stones. The bottom stone in the stack is 25mm x 12mm and the entire stack is 42mm tall and is stopped by a Sterling Silver ring I've hammered and textured. The element above the cairn is a single 18mm x 10mm Turquoise bead between two of the Sterling rings I've flattened and textured. The lariat is attached between and moves easily through the two elements and the loop is wrapped in Sterling wire.

The length is 25" total for the top element and the bottom is 4" additional inches from the single element to the bottom of the cairn.

Carved Turquoise Pendant with Copper and Citrine

This pendant is a blend of some favorite elements that just seemed to catch my eye at the same time. Carved natural Turquoise half melon, flattened Copper accordian round, natural Turquoise wheel and hand-faceted Citrine rondelle.

This stack of treasures creates a perfect whole and complete pendant that's been waiting to for me to figure out all of the elements. It is a perfect, pleasing weight and is 19mm in total length and 26mm wide. It hangs on an 18" sterling silver ball chain.

Vintage Botswana Agate Pendant with Faceted Pearl

This Agate bead is very old as evidenced by some of the lovely wear and staining along the edges. The stone is translucent and the color is hard to describe...Peach, honey, amber, gold - if all of these colors had a place in the naming of the color of this stone it might be approaching an accurate description!

The bead is 8-sided and tapered at both ends. The stone is 27.5mm in length and the middle width is 10mm, 7mm width at the ends. At each end of the stone is a lovely faceted burgundy pearl approximately 5mm x 3mm. The color of the pearls is the perfect complement...the deep burgundy draws out the rich pink and peach tones of the stone.

The total length of the pendant including the sterling silver bail I've created specifically for this piece is 42mm. The bail loops are dimpled to create a unique beaded effect I'm partial to. The pendant is hanging form a 18" sterling silver ball chain with a traditional ball chain clasp.

Multi-Pendant and Ringing Bell Necklace

This necklace is a combination of four individual pendants hung from a hammered Sterling Silver ring. One is a green 10mm Kyanite coin, one highlights a Vintage Brass bell bead with a lovely metallic finish, another is a lovely rough-slab Calcite nuggest that measures 20x10mm and last is the 10mm Aquamarine round stopped with the Carnelian round. The Vintage bell actually rings!

The combined pendant measures 38mm from the top of the Sterling ring to the bottom of the Calcite drop and is approximately 20mm in width when hanging loosely. The pendant hangs from an 18 Sterling Silver chain. The chains is also available in 16 or 20 inches if you prefer. Only Sterling is used for all wrapping, clasps and findings.

These Aquamarine briolet are perfect examples of this stone. They are rich in summer-sky blue tones and full of whispy whites. The bead is pillowed and nicely faceted on both sides. The stones are 11mm in length, 10mm in width and 6mm in thickness. They hang at just about 18mm from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire. Wire used for wrapping is Sterling Silver as well.

Color Burst Necklace

The focal point of this necklace is the pendant that is created by combining 5 smaller gemstone drops. The pendant floats easily over the black Onyx strand of tiny beads and is surrounding by stones matching and complementing the elements in each of the drops in the pendant. The stones in the drop are playful and colorful pairings of Carnelian, Aventurine, Freshwater Pearl, Aquamarine, Blue Jade, Olive Jade Turquoise and Apatite. The simple 2mm Onyx rounds surrounding the stones really accentuate the striking tones of each gem.

Turquoise Eye Bead and Calcite

These earrings are a blend of this perfect buttery, waxy Calcite faceted rondelle with the Turquoise eye-cut bead. The Turquoise is 20mm in length, beautifully tapered and slighlty raised in the middle on each side. The Calcite bead is 6x11mm and dangles loosely from the bottom with a tiny Turquoise bead to stop it and a Carnelian at it's top.

The earrings are 1.5" in length from the bottom of the earring wire. The wire used for wrapping is Sterling Sterling as are the earring wires.

Birthday Mala Bead Earrings

Every year on my Birthday I create a new design using Tibetan Mala beads. So here they are! These Birthday-inspired earrings are another in my Mala Bead series. The Mala bead is one of my favorite design elements. I use it, or variations of this type of bead in many designs. It just wants to be paired with other beads and appreciated. It is salvaged from the remains of an old Tibetan Prayer Mala. Prayer beads of this kind have a number of different types of inlay and these have a beaded band of Brass. This bead is 11mm x 4mm. You can see how the surface of the brass has been softened, worn smooth by the many hands that may have held it, offering up prayers and blessings. For me, each bead carries with it the spirit of all of those prayers.

In this piece the Mala bead is followed by a rough, natural Turquoise Heishi and below it are two Pearls: a faceted ruby-toned round and a small brass-toned Freshwater. The same brass-toned Pearl sits at the top of the Mala Bead.

The earrings are .75" in total length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire and are strung with Sterling Silver as well.

Pagoda II

These Pagoda pendants just seemed to come about one morning...Pagoda structures are know to Eastern culture and landscape and the first record of the pagoda is in the 3rd century, Nepal. They were used to both house and make available sacred Buddhist relics and writings. So for me, I like to think that this bone and stone Pagoda might serve to hold for you a symbolic reminder of that which is sacred...words, ideas, believes, gratitude, lessons.

This unisex Pagoda is a simple pairing of etched bone above and natural turquoise below. It is strung on 1/2" waxed cotton cord that is a total length of 26" and the pendant adds 1.75", not including the cord ends below the bottom stone. The natural turquoise stone that anchors the Pagoda at the bottom is 24mm x 7mm.

Monhegan Series, Necklace I

This piece features this washed up Sea and Sun weathered treasure discovered on Monhegan Island...a place where all manner sea glass, porcelain shards and rusty miracles wash up waiting for patient eyes to find them. It is remarkable with it's circle cut-out, perfectly weathered rusty attire, arrow pointing down, corners reaching up. I've been hesitant to place it...to commit it to a piece but this just seemed to be the time. It is 3.25" across and 2" tall. And the necklace that supports it is a spontaneous and perfect blend of jet, turquoise, flourite, bone, labradorite, carnelian and black vintage cut glass here and there with a wee bit of onyx. The necklace is a total length of 20: not including the pendant. The clasp is unique and one of a kind just like the necklace.

Natural Turquoise Simple Stack Earrings

These simple natural Turquoise earrings feature a favorite find of mine...these Turquoise heishi shaped stone beads are perfect. They're irregular, unrefined, natural, and each is completely unique. Exactly what I look for when searching for beads.

They are a simple stack of three with two smaller stones above and below the larger disc. Because the stones are so unique, each is unlike the other so expect some wonderful variation between the two earrings.

The earrings are 13mm in length from the bottom of the sterling silver earring wire and each of the center stones is 10mm - 12mm in width. They are, of course, strung on sterling silver.

Tibetan Mala Bead Earrings with Smoky Quartz and Amazonite

These earrings are yet another variation on a design series that features Vintage Tibetan Prayer Mala Beads. In this series each earring set is unique but shares a certain type of Mala bead that has one of three stunning types of inlay: A beaded Brass band, beaded Copper band or lastly a Turquoise and Coral chip inlay.

I love so much about these earrings...For starters this thick, chunky, rough-cut Smoky Quartz rondelle that stops the piece is just striking to me. 11mm across and 7mm thick, it's handcut, uneven facets add such beautiful complexity to this light-filled stone. The Mala bead above it is salvaged from the remains of an old Tibetan Prayer Mala. As mentioned above, Prayer beads of this kind have a number of different types of inlay and these have a beaded band of Brass. The Mala bead is about 10mm across and 6mm across. The core of the bead is Yak bone. The piece is finished at the top with a rough-faceted Amazonite 6mm x 4mm rondelle.

Here, the 22 x 6mm Turquoise Wheel is paired with salvaged beaded brass that was inlaid onto a large Tibetan Mala bead. The turquoise is hard to describe...veins brown, rust, gold, green, blue...and perfectly rough-hewn and irregular. I've shaped the beaded brass to serve as a bail for the stone and love the combination of the two. The total length of the pendant is 32mm. I use Mala beads often in my work and was delighted to salvage this brass that was no longer securely attached to it's round base bead. You can read more about my work with Mala beads here:

Turquoise Coral and Carnelian Necklace

This necklace incorporates a design element I've used in other pieces before. I'm so drawn to this blending of Turquoise, Carnelian and Coral that I keep re-inventing it. In this piece the strand is the repeating element of Turquoise Heishi beads ranging is size from 8mm-10mm, smooth irregular Carnelian rondelles and small Coral rounds. The Chinese Turquoise has an organic look and feel to it, each bead unique and unlike the other. I'm always drawn to beads that are irregular and rough. They seem to me to be more closely connected to the earth they originated in than beads that are more uniform and polished.

The Turquoise pendant is a plump faceted briollet, 19mm in length and 7mm at it's thickest point.

The necklace is a total of 22" in length including the length of the Turquoise pendant.

Citrine and Labradorite Color Burst Necklace

This necklace just kind of happened. I was admiring these amazing, irregular Citrine drops and began making pendants out of them by adding colorful stones, then doing the same with the Labradorite beads and voila! All 12 drops just begged to be combined into a single pendant. Each unique drop combines the base bead of either Citrine or Labradorite with splashes of color from Coral, Peridot, Apatite, Carnelian and Amethyst.

The strand is a unique design of 4 different cuts of Labradorite alternating with the colorful stone rounds found in the pendant: Coral, Peridot, Carnelian and Apatite.

The necklace is a total of 23" in length, including the length of the pendant. The pendant is 25mm. The toggle is Hill Tribe Sterling Silver. Only Sterling Silver is used in wrapping and combining.

Amethyst Nugget and Faceted Chalcedony Earrings

This is a unique and lovely combination. I've had this 8mm round faceted Chalcedony for some time and hadn't quite paired them up yet. Then I found these great, rich, complex Amethyst nuggets and these two remarkable gems wound up together!

The nugget is irregularly cut and polished and is about 16 x 9mm. The earrings hang at about 1.25" from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire. They are wrapped with Sterling Silver.

Appatite Chips and Peridot Earrings

The combination of Peridot and Apatite in these earrings seems to convey a strong sense of Water and Movement to me. Maybe more specifically movement on water. The Apatite in these stones is a lovely deep-sea blue...very dark with tiny silver inclusions here and there and the stones range in size form 10 - 4mm across and 4 - 1mm in width. The Peridot drop is created with two different cuts. The larger rondelle is a bit uneven and rough and is hand-faceted. It measures approximately 8mm x 3mm. The smaller Peridot is a 5mm x 2mm coin bead.

The earrings are 1.75" in length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earwire and they are wrapped in Sterling Silver.

Turquoise and Purple Moonstone Drop Earrings

These simple earrings highlight a flat Turquoise disc paired with a purple Moonstone heishi bead. The tiny bead at the bottom of the drop is Carnelian. Rose Quartz Nugget and Amethyst Earrings

These earrings are a nice combination of lovely pink and purple stones. Can you believe they were mined from the Earth? Amazing. Anyway, the Rose Quartz nuggets are rough-cut, organic and irregular. They are approximately 9mm x 9mm. The Amethyst are 5mm rounds and have a deep purple color tone.

The earring are strung onto 18 gauge Sterling Silver. I have lightly hammered the Sterling for strength and textured the earrings with a cross-hatch design just above the Quartz. The earrings are just over 1.5" from the point at which they insert to the bottom of the earring.

Sky Drops

This time of year in cold, snowy Vermont these earrings seem to hold the promise of a Summer Sky! The earrings really show-up the unique color of the sky-blue Peruvian Opal. The beads are hand-faceted and irregular rounds with such clear blue beauty...The Brass spacer between them seems to brighten them even further. The stones are approximately 4mm rounds. The Quartz drop below the Opals is flat faceted and 13mm in length, 9mm in width and 5mm thick.

Chunky Labradorite Stack Earrings

These earrings are made using some exquisite Labradorite. The "flash" and complexity of the stone is just lovely. When it hits the light you'll see color flashes of blue, purple, silver, green. It's just lovely.

If you're familiar with my work you know I'm drawn to stones that are rough-cut, irregular and barely refined and these beads are a perfect example of that style. The stones are unique and hand-cut so each earring is a bit different than the other. They are stacked with the flat irregular rectangle on the bottom, smaller stone on the top. The bottom bead is approximately 12mm x 9mm x 7mm and the top is 10mm x 9mm x 7mm. The are separated by a sterling Hill Tribe Spacer I've hammered to my liking and they are stopped by the 2mm Labradorite round.

The earrings are a total length of .75" from the bottom of the sterling silver earring wire.

Turquoise Ascending, Descending...

This necklace reminds of old Chinese paper beads I remember playing with as a child. The Turquoise heishi beads are stacked descending from the center and spaced with 2mm Coral rounds. The strand is about 4" in length and the middle Turquoise bead is 9mm in width. This is Chinese Turquoise, thickly veined, irregular and has a very organic feel to it.

The strand is attached to a Hill Tribe Sterling Silver chain with links that are about 5mm long and 2.5mm wide. I love this chain - it's a standout on it's own and the links are just the right size to complement the Turquoise.

Resin and Sparkling Colors

This necklace is another of my slightly asymmetrically designed many-gemmed pieces. There are two Resin highlights in this pieces: The thin Resin drop pendant and the element of resin discs alternating with Citrine that is highlighted in the 3rd shot to the right. Some of the many gems that complete this pieces are Peridot, Citrine, Labradorite, Carnelian, Garnet, Moonstone, Freshwater Pearl, Hessonite and touches of faceted Czech Glass. Vintage Glitter with Mala Bead

These Vintage buttons are so unique. I found a variety of them in a sweet little shop in New Hampshire many years ago and have been hard-pressed to commit them to a piece! But I finally decided they should be appreciated by an audience larger than one...So here are two of them. They are hard plastic that feels almost like stone and you'll notice this with older plastic. The glitter inclusions are so unique and are a perfect pairing with the Brass band in the Tibetan Mala bead. The Mala bead is complemented by two small Coral rounds that call out the red in the button.

The Buttons are 17mm rounds and 4mm in thickness. The Mala bead is 12mm across and 4mm high. The earrings are 1.375" in length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wires and are wrapped with Sterling Silver.

African Brass Globe, Turquoise, Coral and Calcite

This is a substantial necklace. It is a weighty blend of some of my favorite combinations: Turquoise, Coral, Calcite and a touch of Ethnic Trade. The focal piece is a very large Brass Ghanaian Trade bead. It is 30mm in diameter, or 1.25", and is strung thru with Turquoise chips and Coral rounds and moves over them freely. I've surrounded it with red Coral in various shapes and sizes, the many yellow shades of Calcite and the blue greens of Turquoise. Stones leading up to the toggle are Turquoise heishi beads with touches of Coral.

Spinning Sterling Top Double Strand Necklace

This is a double strand, golden-yellow Czech Glass Bugle Bead necklace. The top-shaped pendant is Hill Tribe Sterling Silver and it is where the two strands meet and separate. The Glass Czech beads are perfectly irregular and the beads that are placed along the strands are eye-catching, most accented by one or two rough Citrine discs placed around it. Notice the Labradorite with Citrine surrounding it, faceted Turquoise, the Vintage German Olive-Green Melon bead, rough cut Peridot, Hessonite and Amethyst.

Tibetan Mala Bead Earrings with Sky Blue Peruvian Opal and Citrine Nugget Earrings

I love the pure, sky blue of these Peruvian Opals. The beads are hand faceted and irregular 5mm rounds. A Tibetan Mala bead with beaded brass inlay balances between the two in the top element of these earrings. The bottom, loose hanging irregularly smooth faceted Citrine nugget is unique, complex and just a perfect drop for this piece. The Citrine bead in each earring is unlike the other.

These Pagoda pendants just seemed to come about one morning...Pagoda structures are know to Eastern culture and landscape and the first record of the pagoda is in the 3rd century, Nepal. They were used to both house and make available sacred Buddhist relics and writings. So for me, I like to think that this bone and stone Pagoda might serve to hold for you a symbolic reminder of that which is sacred...words, ideas, believes, gratitude, lessons.

This unisex Pagoda is a simple pairing of etched bone above and natural turquoise below. It is strung on 1/2" waxed cotton cord that is adjustable to a maximum length of 24" and the pendant adds 1.75", not including the cord ends below the bottom stone. The natural turquoise stone that anchors the Pagoda at the bottom is 20mm x 7.

The Turquoise in these earrings is my new favorite in cut and style. The Turquoise "wheels" are a substantial 20 x 6 mm in size. They are unrefined and organic-feeling...as thought you can count the steps on one hand that it took to go from earth to bead. The are wrapped in sterling silver and hang from sterling silver ear wires. They are just over an inch measuring from the bottom of the earring wire.

One might ask, "Manny, will you ever tire of Orange and Blue?". Certainly not. Especially when it arrives in Carnelian and Turquoise! I do love this combination...Each of the stones calls out more depth of color and complexity in the other. The Carnelian here is tumbled stone pebbles, irregular but smooth, one unlike the other and ranging in size from 5mm - 6mm. The Chinese Turquoise is also smooth-tumbled and irregular...a large, lovely pebble in beautiful Turquoise-blue and perfectly accented with it's dark inclusions. The Turquoise is approximately 16mm x 12mm x 10mm. It is stopped at the bottom by a simple textured Hill Tribe Sterling spacer.

The earrings are 1.75" in length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire and are wrapped in Sterling.

This necklace is made with these wonderful Red Cross Buri Nut Beads I purchased from a shop here at Etsy, Terrestrial. I've surrounded them with classic Vintage black glass beads and added some favorites in the surrounding elements where Carnelian discs and rounds are paired with Labradorite. Also featured here are two Mother of Pearl Carved Birds. This necklace feels like it's a perfect combination of elements.

The necklace is 17" in length and the toggle is Sterling Silver.

These earrings highlight these amazing 12mm Vintage Brass Trouser buttons. I love these antique buttons...so artistically designed, decoratively enhanced and beautifully stamped. The buttons are strung and wrapped with sterling silver and attached to the 10mm Kyanite coin. The bottom element dangles easily and is a faceted 10mm Carnelian round stopped by a smooth Carnelian round.

Carnelian and Sparkling Citrine Drop

The combination of sparkling Citrine and honey, caramel-toned Carnelian gives these earrings both a warm and elegant feel to them. The Carnelian round at the top measures 8mm and is followed by an irregularly faceted and chunky Citrine rondele. It is about 5mm x 3mm. At the very bottom is a tiny Carnelian round to finish the piece.

The earrings hang from Sterling Silver wires and are strung on a Sterling pin. They hang at just over 5/8" from the bottom of the earring wire.

This is a unique combination of rough, hand-faceted and irregular Moonstone rondelles that each range in size from 4mm - 2mm thick and are approximately 6mm across. The stack has flashes of blue and purple when catching the light in the irregular, organic facets. Loosely dangling from the stack is a Sterling Silver wrapped Cobalt Blue African Trade Glass bead. The beads used here are antique, dating back to the 1800's and are known as "dutch donuts". They are smooth edged and irregular, approximately 12mm across and range from 2mm - 4mm in thickness. These beads are classic trade beads introduced into the African trade market by Germany and represent status, position and currency.

The earrings are wrapped with Sterling Silver wire and are just under 2" in length from the bottom of the Sterling ear wire.

Turquoise, Carnelian and Coral

Was there ever a better combination than these three? You'll find this combination scattered about my shop past, present and future.

These earrings are anchored by this lovely tumbled Chinese Turquoise stone. This is, by far, my favorite type of turquoise. It is beautifully veined and irregular so that each stone is unlike the next. Here the stones are about 16mm in length, 13mm across and about 7mm in thickness. They are topped by a smooth Carnelian rondele and a 2mm Coral round finishes them. The earrings are a total length of 25mm measured from the bottom of the earring wire.

As always, only Sterling Silver is used for wires and wrapping.

Peridot Greens, Labradorite, Amethyst...

This necklace works with simple colors - big strokes of green Peridot, splashes of purple Amethyst, irregular Agate chunks, drops of Carnelian silvery Labradorite. The Peridot chips are mingled with 2 and 4mm rounds. Two rectangular cuts of Citrine accent the clasp. The colors are so bright and festive, yet simple. The design is irregular, yet balanced.

The necklace is 17.5" in length and the clasp and crimps are sterling silver.

This piece has a centerbead of lovely honey and butterscoth colored Quartz with a big splash of colorful beads to support it. Some of my favorites amongst them are the Vintage Crackle Glass on either side and the sterling Bali spacer on the left. Other gems include Citrine, Peridot, Garnet, Coral, Labrodite, Carnelian and golden glass beads to finish the piece. The Toggle is Hill Tribe Sterling Silver and the Necklace is 16" in length.

Orange and blue...Carnelian, Kyanite. Love the complexity, light, color, shine in kyanite and the difference in each bead. Here Carnelian tops the larger and darker night-blue Kyanite with the lighter Kyanite disk at the bottom, stopped by the Carnelian round.
