Reproduction of a Traditional Early American bowl design decotated with cobalt using a sea sponge as they did in the 17th century.

Not my usual work, this is a piece from a line of pottery I make under the name of Northwood Stoneware Pottery, a company start in the 70's here along Auntique Alley in Northwood, NH.

I moved into the the orginal Northwood Pottery studio in 1998, and continued the tradition while starting my own tradition of contemporary wood fired, and Raku pottery designs.

Copper Red/Puple Candle Holders
5"tall and 4.5"tall
Stoneware high fired, glazed with Shino and copper Red.

Copper reds and purples are the hardest colors to control in
a high temperature glaze firings. I am very happy with how
this glaze has been coming out of the kiln.
