The Shanty Truck-8x10 Fine Art Print

Well folks, what we have here is a country fried rockabilly image with a little mystery to it. Maybe even a little David Lynch-ish/Twin Peaks feeling to it under the foggy glow of the moonlit night. Or maybe it's something else altogether. I'll let you decide.

What I can tell you is that I created the image using basically three photographed elements: my buddy's cool '53 Chevy truck, a nifty sign and a well dressed rooster.

Only the truck was digitally colored. The sign and rooster are their true as photographed selves. The rooster was one of several in a rooster gang that hangs out at a nearby park and was all too willing to show off for the camera. And of course no harm was done to said rooster (or me).

'Ever wonder when you see a flock of crows together that they might be discussing something important, like oh I don't know...maybe world domination or something?

They do have the moniker of "wise old crow"...hmm...

Well our feathered friends in this created photographic image are probably not as concerned with such lofty goals as they are about leaving behind what is fast approaching on the stormy horizon. They are dark red with a sense of urgency and warning.

The dramatic angle of the architecture was photographed "as found" on what had been a perfectly cloudless and crow-less day.

Where in the world is this you ask? Why it's the Painted Hills in Central Oregon which is part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.

I colored the sky and the blue ice but the hills actually are layers of red, yellow and gray. Just beautiful.
