This distinctive African coffee is grown in the mountains in the Sidamo region of Ethiopia. Ethiopia is the birth place of coffee and produces some of the most complex coffees in the world.

This is a medium bodied coffee with a floral scent and a rich almost wine-like body. It has a distinctive flowery taste and aroma, with a slightly hint of lemon.

Shade grown coffee is grown under trees, helping preserving wildlife habitat and prevent soil erosion. It is organically grown with no chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Fair trade coffee is bought at a fair market price that ensures growers can make a living wage.

This sampler contains Ethiopian Longberry Harrar, Guatemalan Maya Ixil, Papau New Guinea, Kenyan AA, and Costa Rican Hard Bean. Several of these coffees are fair trade, shade grown coffees meaning they support indigenous peoples and help preserve the environment.

Ethiopian Longberry Harrar has a wild, fruity taste reminiscent of blueberries or blackberries. It is a sweet coffee with a fermented, winey aftertaste. It has a fruity aroma with a hint of apricot. It has a mild acidity that produces a gentle, round, delicately complex cup. Shade grown.

Guatemalan Maya Ixil is a mild coffee with a silky mouthfeel. It has a slightly acidic, fruity taste, reminiscent of summer tomatoes fresh from the garden. Great as an iced coffee! fair trade, shade grown.

Papau New Guinea is a coffee grown at high altitude, over 5,000 feet in most cases. This is a medium bodied coffee with a complex, spicy taste. Fair trade, shade grown.

Kenya AA is a medium to heavy bodied coffee. It's bright with wine and citrus fruit notes. It has a slight bite to it typical of African coffees. AA is the highest grade of Kenyan coffee and is grown at high altitude.

Costa Rican Hard Bean is a full bodied natural, sun-dried coffee from one of the highest altitude growing regions of Costa Rica. Much more syrupy and complex than most other Costa Rica coffees, this coffee was a hit in our shop as soon as it came out of the roaster!

Note: All coffee will be ground for an AutoDrip coffee maker with a paper filter unless you request differently!

Rich bold Ethiopian Harrar blended with spices to give it a peppery kick. This is a mildly hot blend that will give you a pleasant tingling burn. You know its spicey, but it doesn't blow your head off.

This is a shade grown coffee. This means its grown beneath a forest canopy of mature trees. These provide important habitat for many birds native to Ethiopia and are an important stop over point for song birds migrating across Africa and the Mediterranean.

This coffee is a medium bodied slightly complex and very smooth. It is a wonderful choice to your coffee collection. Moves very fast in our store and all who have tried it give it a thumbs up!
Coffee was introduced to Papua New Guinea by a Dutch sailor that brought plants all the way from Jamaica's Blue Mountain region. This is a coffee grown at high altitude, over 5,000 feet in most cases. This is a medium bodied coffee with a complex, spicy taste.

Fun fact: Papua New Guinea occupies half the island of New Guinea just north of Australia. There are more than 800 known languages on the island!

The bird show on the bag is a bird of paradise.
