I made this perfect closed in circle on my potters wheel. After trimming it smooth, I cut out a section and put on feet. I then threw a spout on the wheel and rolled out a handle and made a lid with a round top in keeping with the circle theme.
Then all was assembled to let the donut do a little dance:<)

I thought it looked a little lonesome, so I glazed it in a little black dress to go out on the town.
I swear she is playing around in my studio when I am gone and then she looks so innocent when I return.

I will craft a mug in any of the glazes in my shop, and put the name or saying of your choice on it.

Each mug will be a little different, as they are made on the wheel, by hand and fired in the kiln, twice, at different times, so no two are alike.
That is the beauty of owning a handcrafted piece of pottery. It is yours alone and will never be duplicated!

Before glazing, the word is stamped into the clay and then filled with black underglase.
The word is then waxed to leave the texture of the stoneware pottery showing through.

Wheel thrown stoneware 10" plate and 7"x3 1/2" bowl.
Bright shiny glaze was trailed over a blue matte engobe to give the wonderful texture of shiny over matte. The inside of the bowl and outside of the plate is a shiny powder blue glaze that matches the matte glaze.

Because of the matte texture on the plate, it should be hand washed. May be hung or placed in display holder. Would make a wonderful gift as a set.

This beautiful and unusual bowl was thrown on the wheel. The bottom and sides of the bowl were then impressed with a handmade flower stamp.
Then the foot was trimmed before it's first firing. It was glazed in a rich textured mulberry glaze before firing to 2,000 degrees for an almost indestructible but lovely pot. The textured glaze lets the impressed flower stamp show the white stoneware clay below.

This beautiful 11" bowl was thrown on the wheel and then glazed in our luscious Waterfall Brown glaze that was made in our studio. The wonderful khaki cinnamon glaze shows the fingers of the potter in the bottom of the bowl.

Big enough to serve company, or use as a centerpiece. Will hold 10 cups when filled to the brim.
Perfect companion to the matching goblet.

Fired to a high cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit) in an electric kiln.

Lace Flower Tiles, Coasters / Handmade Stoneware Pottery

These handmade stoneware tiles are approximately 4"x4" and can be used as coasters, hung on a wall, or displayed in stands. Can be used as an addition to any tile wall and are safe in all conditions of water and weather.

To make these tiles, the clay is rolled out to 1/4 inch thickness and then vintage lace is pressed into the clay. Pink and green stain is then carefully brushed onto the flowers and leaves. After the first firing, a clear glaze is put over all to protect and seal the tiles.
They are then fired to a very high heat which makes them food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe up to 500 degrees. Will withstand all moisture and heat and cold, so can be used outdoors.

Please let me know in your customer comments, if you want your tiles plain, or with the little silicone feet.

This wheel thrown vase has been carved and textured to add visual interest to the classic form.

This extra large 20 oz mug was thrown on the wheel and then shaped into a square. It was thin stamped on all four sides. After it was leather dry, a foot was trimmed and a comfortable square handle with thumb-rest was applied.
It has been glazed in an earth tone combination of soft country meadow yellow and rich rust brown. The brown spills down the sides and into the stamps in a very appealing way.

Next it received the cone 5 firing in the kiln.

Fresh from the garden, this stoneware leaf platter was made using a REAL leaf.
The clay was rolled out, and the leaf impressed into the wet clay. The edges were propped up with newspaper to make the leaf look alive and so your food or whatevers, doesn't fall out. A hand pressed butterfly was attached to the wet clay before it's first firing. Then it was glazed in jade green and the butterfly in mulberry, using glazes that allow the veins and stems show to their best advantage.

Use for food, candy, nuts, candles, or just for a wonderful nature inspired decoration.

This lovely pale yellow basket was thrown on the wheel. After it was leather dry, a foot was trimmed and the handle was applied. The basket was then hung upside down until dry enough for the handle to remain upright.
A studio made glaze was applied to the basket and then it received the cone 6 firing (2232 degrees Fahrenheit) in the electric kiln.

Fill with candy or flowers or as a basket for a special collection of gifts, such as tea or a spa basket filled with handmade soaps and bubble bath. Can be used year round. Will become a heirloom for those special memories.
