The Perfect Wristlet

This little wristlet has it all--function, form, and (most importantly) fun! I designed this wristlet from the ground up per the needs of a fellow Etsyian (she received a similar wristlet in Amy Butler and Joel Dewberry fabrics), and you see the result on your computer.

It measures approximately 9" at its widest point and 7" wide at the top, while it stands approximately 6" tall. It has an inverted pleat in the center of both sides (inside and out) as well as darts in the corners to allow room to expand. It also has a wrist strap that will detach at one end so you can secure it to just about anything--a stroller handle, a larger tote or purse, your belt loops (though I wouldn't recommend the belt loops if you have a ton of stuff in the wristlet), and so much more! It also zips shut, so you don't have to worry about anything falling out like you do when you have a button or magnetic closure. The swivel clasp hooks onto a split ring (like what you put your car keys on), which is in turn on a loop made from the lining fabric.

It is large enough to carry all your essentials, but not so big that you feel like you're carrying around a suitcase. Look at the picture with my makeup, rewetting drops, wallet, and phone to see just how much stuff I could personally cram into it!

In the pictures you can see all the details. The picture that shows a closeup of the outside inverted pleat makes the fabric look charcoal gray, but that was just my camera. The outer fabric is a jet black denim/canvas, while the lining fabric (and the loop that the split ring is on) is a fun watermelon quilt-quality cotton print. All the seams were done in a pale pink thread, which I felt would be yet another fun detail.

Butterfly Dreams Purse

This elegant purse is made out of the remnants of a beautiful butterfly brocade fabric that I originally purchased over 2 years ago to make a diaper bag for my daughter. The interior of the purse is made out of the same material that I used for the lining for that diaper bag. I do not normally use the type of fabric that I used for the exterior of the purse, but thought that the fabric I chose would be perfect for this particular purse design.

The brocade has multicolored metallic butterflies on a satiny black background. The burgundy lining fabric reminds me of a velveteen with the texture.

The purse has been fully interlined with a heavyweight interfacing, so it will stand on its own. The zipper has a pull made from a piece of burgundy ribbon that has has the angled ends treated with Fray-Check to prevent unraveling. There are no interior or exterior pockets. The strap is attached to the bag through the use of two (2) thick 1" D-rings, which are in turn attached to the bag with loops made out of the exterior fabric.

The dimensions of the purse are as follows:

Depth at bottom: 2"
Depth at top: 1.5"
Drop (strap): 8.5"

This is a shepherd's hook bookmark, so named because of the shape of the metal bookmark (in this instance, silvertone) that marks your place. I added one pale pink coin- or lozenge-shaped foiled glass bead and six glass seed bead "dangles", with 25 silvery glass seed beads on each strand. The ends have been secured with very small silver plated crimp beads (a larger one was placed between the foiled glass bead and the strands, and each individual strand has a tiny crimp bead between seed beads #24 and #25). The cord used was a 0.5 mm-wide stretchy cord.

Sapphire and Amethyst Bookmark

This beautiful beaded bookmark has numerous differently shaped glass beads. The largest bead is teardrop-shaped (and 3D), and measures nearly 7/8" x 5/8" at its widest points. The other beads are much smaller, and vary widely in shape and size, though all the beads are either blue, purple, or silver in color. The overall length of this bookmark is approximately 16" including the dangles at either end, and the "open space" between the ends measures about 11.5" in length. The cord used was a 0.5 mm-wide stretchy cord, and the crimp beads are silverplated.

Spring Bunnies Burp Cloth, Part 2

This listing is for one shaped burp cloth. The dimensions are approximately 10" wide by 16.5" long at the widest points (not including the cutout sections).

This particular burp cloth is made of 3 layers of 100% cotton flannel, for exceptional absorbancy. The fabrics used are a "spring bunnies" print on a pale cream background, backed with a pink solid.

I hand-cut each layer of fabric used in these burp cloths (just as I do for all of my sewn items), so sizes are approximate). Each burp cloth is cut in such a manner that you will no longer have a burp cloth that bunches up against your neck when trying to burp a squirmy little one!

The third picture is of all the background fabrics I used in this set of burp cloths. From left to right, the colors are as follows:

yellow
lavender (purple)
white
apple (green)
periwinkle (blue)

I personally used this design with my son when he was smaller, and I never had spit-up or other spills soak completely through.

The Fresh Bag

This is the second installment in my new purses and accessories line (the first is my "Perfect Wristlet", also listed in my shop). I have designed each piece in this collection from the ground up, including sketching the individual pattern pieces, cutting out the fabric, and sewing the final product together.

The purse measures 10" wide at the top, 16" wide at the bottom, and 13" tall. The two shoulder straps each measure 23" end-to-end (approximately a 11.5" drop), and have three lines of stitching running the length of the straps. The purse also features 3 inverted pleats on each side, as well as a large flap with a magnetic closure (the flap dimensions are 4" wide by 7 7/8" at the longest point). There are six 4" tall pockets that span the width of the back interior: two central 1" wide pockets are flanked on either side by two 3.5"-wide pockets (four pockets total of that width). The top band on both the interior and exterior are slightly stiffened with heavyweight interfacing, and the entire purse has one layer of felt between the interior and exterior fabrics to provide extra body. One final detail is the hand beading of the flap with tiny glass seed beads in the center of each flower, which add not only beauty but stability as well (secures the front of the flap to the back, as the closure is a fairly heavy-duty magnetic snap).

I used a natural bull denim for the exterior of the bag, and a gorgeous pink-background Asian print for the interior and the flap. I obtained the Asian print fabric from fellow Etsyian sweetside.

The matching wristlet shown in the fourth picture is NOT available for sale, as it has already been sent to its owner.

Crochet Catch-All

This listing is for one crochet roll. It holds 10 crochet hooks, up to a size N. It also holds a small pair of scissors and 4 needles. It has a flap that folds over the hooks, keeping them in place, and rolls up for easy transport; it stays closed with the use of a white grosgrain ribbon that ties in a bow.

For this particular roll, I used an animal print, Valentine-themed quilting cotton for the exterior and the main pocket, and a striped cotton shirting for the interior fabric and needle pocket; the interior of the main pocket is a plain black Kona cotton. I used a cheerful red thread to sew everything together, and (as I mentioned previously) a 3/8"-wide white grosgrain ribbon for the tie.

I can make this roll in any number of fabrics for that custom look that you want. Just convo me and we can work out the details!

OOAK Baby Boy Quilt

This is a quilt that I made a few months ago. It has alternating Bob the Builder and white flannel fabrics in a checkerboard pattern. The Bob the Builder square were cut from scraps I bought from someone on eBay a couple years ago, so this is a one-of-a-kind item (I do not have any more of this particular fabric). There is a polyester batting sandwiched between the quilt top and the backing, which is bleached muslin. The quilt top, backing, and the red yarn that was used to tie all the layers together are all 100% cotton. I sewed the layers "pillowcase style", which means that I sewed the batting, backing, and top together with the backing and top right sides together, leaving an opening on one side to turn everything right-side out. I then handstitched the opening closed and topstitched all around the outside of the quilt to ensure the layers wouldn't shift. The final touch was the red yarn I used to tie the layers together for looks and security. The quilt measures approximately 31.5" square.

Wintry Delight Stocking

This is a listing for one gorgeous Christmas stocking, made with blue velvet for the stocking body, a white faux fur cuff, and a black cotton lining. I embroidered a toile snowflake in rayon embroidery thread on the front of the stocking, and the results are simply stunning...pictures simply cannot do the stocking justice!

I can ship this via Priority Mail by December 20, 2008 (Saturday), and it should make it to a US destination by Christmas (the postal clerk I spoke with about sending out another package said that sending something Priority should take about the same amount of time as usual at this point). Once it leaves my hands, however, I cannot vouch for how quickly the post office will get it to you. I also would be willing to ship this stocking worldwide--but it will take too long to get through the various postal services to arrive by this Christmas.

FabFashion Boutique Custom Halloween Skirt Set

This listing is for a handcrafted 5-piece custom Halloween skirt set.

Included in this gorgeous set is:

patchwork two-tiered, ruffled skirt
bloomers
peasant top
2 fabric/tulle bows (one with a pin back and one with a double-prong alligator clip)

The patchwork skirt and the bows were made from a large assortment of Halloween-themed fabrics. The patchwork skirt also features a solid black fabric for the waistband, ruffle, and one patch--and the biggest ric rac trim I've ever seen (also black)! The skirt's ric rac trim and the ruffle also have glow-in-the-dark highlights.

The peasant top features a very large spider web that was hand-sketched on the front and sleeves before being stitched with glow-in-the-dark thread, and the spider (with glow-in-the-dark eyes and fangs) adds a little touch of whimsy.

Both bows are made from assorted Halloween fabrics and tulle. The hair bow has a double-prong alligator clip to attach to the hair (I like a simple ponytail with the bow placed just above it). The pin-back bow can be removed from the skirt and worn with whatever outfit you want!

The outfit shown fits a size 4T (the waistbands are approximately 20" in circumference, unstretched), but I can custom-make the entire outfit in any size you want up to a size 6. Please convo me prior to purchase if you need a size other than the outfit modeled, and allow 4 weeks for customization.

The outfit shown in this listing is available for immediate shipment worldwide. This listing is for one child's long-sleeved T-shirt, in any size up to 5T (certain sizes may be available as a onesie/creeper); the T-shirts shown are Garanimals brand and are incredibly soft and smooth to the touch. I machine embroidered a cute turkey on the front of the shirt in bold, bright colors. My children have laid claim to the shirts in the pictures you see, and so I will be making more shirts as they are ordered. The black shirt shown is size 3T, and the white shirt shown is size 4T.

This particular design looks like the hand-shaped turkeys I used to make as a young child, and when I watched my own daughter make a hand-shaped turkey with some markers recently, it dawned on me that this would be the perfect design to use on a child's shirt!

I will use the exact colors shown on the shirts in the images for your shirt, unless you specify otherwise. Dark-colored shirts will have the turkey outlined in white, while light-colored shirts will have the turkey outlined in dark brown. You may choose the color of the shirt. Availability may vary according to what the local stores have when I purchase the shirt; however, I do have access to an online store with a wide selection of colors and brands of T-shirts if the color you want is not available locally. If I do have to order your shirt, please bear in mind that there will be a slight delay before you receive the finished product.

The reverse of each design is covered with a layer of iron-on interfacing, in order to protect delicate skin from any scratchy threads. I use an invisible thread on the reverser of the designs, and the very short ends of the thread (from after I finish trimming the excess threads after the embroidery is completed) can scratch the skin slightly unless covered.

Short-sleeved T-shirts, turtleneck T-shirts, and even older child and adult sizes are available as well...please convo me for accurate pricing.

All my creations come from a smoke- and pet-free (but not toddler-free) home. In the case of my sewing creations, there are no raw edges exposed unless otherwise described in the individual listings; I strive for a professional-looking finish to everything I make.
