This double sided glass locket features a swiveling bail so you can see the contents from either side! (The opening inside is big enough to only hold items of that approx. thickness.) Antiqued glass has a greenish tint giving the piece such charm. Trapezoid shape measures: 24 x 22mm. The exterior depth measurement is about 13mm (including the glass which is bowed to give it a lot of depth). Stamped .925 sterling silver.

Blue/grey lavender - Lavandula Angustifolia - imported from Provence, France.

Two pounds (32 oz) of the highest quality french lavender. Lavender is perfect for making sachets, potpourri, sleep/eye pillows, bath herbs, weddings (for tossing at bride and groom), bath and body, aromatherapy, dryer sachets, a natural replacement for moth balls, etc. Bluish/grey green in color and a very strong lavender scent. The buds are about size of rice and is very clean with practically no stems. A 1 lb bag will fill about 40-50 3"-4" organza bags & approx 20 - 4" x 6" bags.

The buds are extremely fragrant and have approximately a 2 year shelf life when kept in a cool, dry, dark place in a sealed container or bag. If the fragrance fades give the buds a squeeze to release the oil inside... it will give them a renewed scent.

Larger quantities are available.

Fill a jar about one-quarter full of blue/grey lavender buds and then fill the rest of the jar with white vinegar. Place the lid on the jar and leave in a warm spot (a windowsill is a good place) for about two weeks. Shake daily. Strain out the lavender buds (you can put these in the compost pile). Use your new cleaner to clean kitchen counters (repels and also kills ants), windows, etc. It is also a good spray into the air around the grill to repel flies, but be careful not to get downwind of it because the vinegar may sting your eyes.

In addition, it is helpful for relieving insomnia, headaches, and stress. Lavender has been used for centuries, all over the world, for everything from soothing burns and insect bites to healing acne and athlete's foot.

Culinary use: for tea blending and herbs de Provence.

One half pound (8 oz) of French lavender. Lavender is perfect for making sachets, potpourri, sleep/eye pillows, bath herbs, weddings (for tossing at bride and groom), bath and body, aromatherapy, dryer sachets, a natural replacement for moth balls, etc. Bluish/grey green in color and a very strong lavender scent. 1/2 lb quality dried German Chamomile imported from Egypt -
Botanical Name: Matricaria Chamomilla (Annual). German Chamomile is somewhat sweeter and less medicinal than other varieties of chamomile.

This is a very large sealed bag (because of how light weight the petals are). One dry 1/2 pound bag (8 oz.). Perfect for herb tea, hair rinse, making potpourri, sachets and dream pillows, bath herbs and other bath products, and in numerous craft projects.

Chamomile Recipes

Tea of Cheer and Joy

Ingredients:
1/2 cup dried chamomile flowers
1/2 cup dried calendula petals
2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
1/4 cup dried peppermint
1 tablespoon whole cloves
honey to taste

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. To brew use 1 1/2 tsp. of tea with 1 cup (8 ounces) boiling water. Steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain and sweeten with honey to taste.

Winter Afternoon Tea
Makes 4 cups

Ingredients:
1 tsp. dried chamomile
1 tsp. dried mint
1 tsp. dried lavender
honey

Combine the herbs in your warmed tea pot and add 2 cups boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes and strain. Add 1 tsp. of honey to each cup of tea. Notes: I put together this simple mellow tea one winter afternoon. I like it with the honey, but lemon would be fine too. This makes 2 cups of tea, but it can easily be doubled and tripled.

Chamomile Shampoo

You will need:
2 tsp.. dried chamomile
1/4 cup boiling water
1/4 cup baby shampoo (or another mild variety)

Pour the boiling water over the chamomile and steep for 30 minutes, strain, then mix into the shampoo and use as usual.

Chamomile Hair Conditioner

You will need:
1/3 cup chamomile flowers
1/3 cup olive, safflower or sunflower oil
Clean jar with lid

Combine the chamomile and oil in a jar with a lid. Place on a sunny windowsill and shake the jar at once a day. After two weeks, strain out the herbs. To apply, use about 2-4 teaspoons, depending on the length of your hair. Brush out your hair and apply to the hair ends, avoiding the scalp. Leave on about ten minutes, then shampoo out.

Chamomile Hair Rinse

You will need:
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp. chamomile flowers

Pour the water over the chamomile; steep until it cools to lukewarm. Strain out the flowers. This will soothe your scalp. To use pour over your hair as a rinse after shampooing.

Herbal Foot Soak

You will need:
2 ounces mixed fresh herbs-peppermint, rosemary, chamomile
4 cups boiling water
1 tablespoon borax
1 tablespoon Epsom salts

Roughly chop the herbs. Put in a bowl, pour in boiling water. Let stand 1 hour; strain. Place the "tea" water into a tub or bowl large enough to hold both feet and another 6-7 cups of warm water. Stir in borax and Epsom salts. Soak feet 15 to 20 minutes. Add hot water if needed to keep the temperature as warm as desired. Afterwards use a good lotion and place cotton socks on your feet for the evening!

*Great recipe for Natural "Green" Lavender Household Cleaner

Fill a jar about one-quarter full of blue/grey lavender buds and then fill the rest of the jar with white vinegar. Place the lid on the jar and leave in a warm spot (a windowsill is a good place) for about two weeks. Shake daily. Strain out the lavender buds (you can put these in the compost pile). Use your new cleaner to clean kitchen counters (repels and also kills ants), windows, etc. It is also a good spray into the air around the grill to repel flies, but be careful not to get downwind of it because the vinegar may sting your eyes.

This double sided glass locket features a swiveling bail so you can see the contents from either side! Wonderfully fragrant lavender is an incredibly useful and versatile plant. It is believed to be a natural anti-depressant and relaxant. In addition, it is helpful for relieving insomnia, headaches, and stress. Culinary use: for tea blending and herbs de Provence.

One quarter pound (4 oz) of French lavender.
