Flourish Vintage Button Brooch

$27.00
This lovely brown and brass brooch is made with two charming vintage buttons. The bottom one is taupe (or a grayish brown) celluloid button with faceted edges and a concave surface with a pointed oval in the middle. Centered on that is a remarkable brass button that has swirls, terraces, and hatch marks. This button has a nice patina but brighter gold highlights that reflect the light. The combination is stylish but with a definite vintage flair.

The pin is 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

Vintage Arthur Armour Aluminum Bowl, with Flying Geese

$24.00
This is such a lovely piece, and not too large--a perfect way to start an aluminumware collection, if you're not already hooked.

This hand-wrought aluminum bowl is in lovely condition (with a few spots that appear to be removable, but I've left that to the buyer). It features a flock of four geese on the inside (they seem a little worn, but still nice). The hammered edge is a wonderful touch.

On the back, it bears the stamp of Arthur Armour, with the A signature below it. Arthur Armour produced fine pieces in Grove City, Pennsylvania, from 1933 to 1976. Since his death, Armour's pieces have become even more collectible and rare.

Size: 7 5/8 inches across by about 2 inches tall (19.3 x 5 cm)

The corn is a handmade charm from Brazil--hollow with textured leaves. (In Brazil, ears of corn are a symbol of good luck.) The un centavo coin is worn and shining. It has a bald man on one side (Fr. Bartholome de Las Casas, the first priest ordained in the Americas) and on the reverse, a Quetzal bird with a long tail, guns, a document, and leaves. The coin, corn charm, and vintage key all hang from a rolo chain with an antiqued brass finish and a lobster claw clasp.

The chain is 24 inches (61 cm), but can be shortened on request. The key dangles an additional 1 3/4 inches (4.5 cm).

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

1927 Nautical Memorabilia from R.M.S. Majestic, Travel Desk plus Ephemera

$225.00
A rare collection of 1927 nautical memorabilia from the R.M.S. Majestic—one of the most popular ships in the White Star Line. Included are a leather travel desk, a White Star Line passenger list from tourist class, a souvenir program, and a luncheon menu.

All four items belonged to Miss Gertrude Rollins, a young Britsh woman who sailed to the United States on the R.M.S. Majestic in June 1927. Miss Rollins settled in North Carolina but kept these souvenirs of her trip for many years.

The R.M.S. Majestic was initially christened the Bismarck and slated for a German cruise line until World War II interrupted. She was rechristened and became the flagship for White Star Line, making her maiden voyage in 1922 (10 years after the Titanic sailed). She was the largest ship afloat at that time and extremely popular, known fondly as the “Magic Stick.”

This little set is filled with so much history. The travel desk is leather with silver metal fixtures; a green leather interior, including storage files on the inside lid; a removable blotter (also leather); and two writing instruments, which fit into slots in the lid. These both have bone handles (I believe, though it could be ivory) and steel fittings, one for an ink pen and the other a pencil. The case has a leather handle, which is included but has torn off and is separate. The only mark on the case is British Made on the lock (the key is missing). The case is in fair to good condition, with stains on the outside and some wear and damage to the seams; the inside leather is in better shape, and the little latch that secures the area for paper storage still works. The size is 12 by 8 by 3 inches (30.5 x 20.3 x 7.6 cm).

All three pieces of ephemera feature the White Star Line’s red flag with a white star. The White Star Line Passenger List, Tourist Third Cabin, is dated on the first page From Southampton to New York (Via Cherbourg), Wednesday, 15th June, 1927. The booklet has 16 pages with General Information for Passengers, telegram and postal information, the passenger list (Miss Rollins has check marks next to people she met and one name written in), a picture of the ship and times on board, distances, and other information about the White Star Line. The back cover includes a map and room to fill out a log of the trip (it’s blank). The brochure has yellowed and been folded and has a few marks but is in good condition.

Next there is a Souvenir Programme, a small eight-page booklet with a picture of the ship, a list of the various activity committees, a list of prize winners for games and races, and a concert program. The cover features a small illustration of dancers. The inside back cover has autographs. This program has a torn and loose cover.

Finally, a one page card has the Tourist Third Cabin Luncheon Menu for June 15, 1927 (baked haddock and madras curry). It’s been folded and is a little scuffed. The back has some writing and pencil marks on it.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to see more pictures. There’s lots of information on the R.M.S. Majestic available online. Here’s one fun site:

http://rmsmajestic.co.uk/
It's a celluloid wafer button with a molded design of diamonds and lines, plus a surface that's marbled and metallic and really catches the light. On top of that is a smaller black vintage button with petals like a flower, and finally a small mother of pearl button.

The pendant is 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), and the bail is silver plate. It hangs from a black leather cord with a silver plate lobster claw clasp. The cord is about 22 inches long (56 cm), but can be shortened or lengthened on request.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

1930s Pinocchio, Vintage Children's Book

$28.00
This richly illustrated vintage book from the 1930s is the classic by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio: The Adventures of a Puppet, published by A.L. Burt Co and translated by M.A. Murray. The book has no copyright date, but an inscription on the inside back cover indicates it was a Christmas gift in 1935.

The book has a green cloth cover with dark green embossed lettering. There's a four-color frontispiece signed by Charles Folkard, and black and white drawings on almost every spread, including many full-page illustrations, also by Folkard. The illustrations are charming, but in some cases slightly disturbing (there's a lot more thrilling adventures in the original story than in the Disneyfied version). The end papers are what looks like block prints of animals, printed in green.

The book is in good condition. The pages are yellowed; a few have darker stains. There is one small tear on the title page but none others that I could find. The cover is faded, especially on the spine, and has wear around the edges and the mark of a glass on the front. The binding is tight.

Size: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (21.5 x 14 cm), 258 pp.

The base is a large carved mother of pearl button. It's gray but with lively highlights of purple and red and with a swirling pattern of carved lines. On top of that is an art deco celluloid button, with an abstract black and white design, surrounded by a ring of silver and with black on the sides.

The pin is 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

The goblets are embossed with a pattern of grapes and leaves--a popular motif in milk glass of that era--and have a textured surface. Just lovely.

The set is in very good vintage condition. One goblet has a few tiny chips on the rim; three of them have small chips just below the band on the top of the outside. Otherwise, they're in great condition.

Size: 5 5/8 inches tall (14.2 cm)

Antique German Open Salt, Sterling Silver and Cut Crystal

$85.00
This beautiful vintage open salt cellar is German and made of cut crystal with a sterling rim with garlands. It's an unusual, highly collectible Victorian piece, dating from 1884 to the early 1900s. The silver bears the hallmarks of a crescent moon and crown, signifying it's from Germany, plus 800, which means the silver is 80% silver and 20% copper or other metal (one of the German silver standards used since 1884). It has two more marks as well that I'm not able to make out; one might be an eagle like that used by J.W. Paulmann & Sohn. The other looks like two profiles (perhaps).

The salt is in very good condition. The silver has some tarnish but appears to be fine otherwise. Two of the garlands are a little bent, but there are no breaks or missing pieces. The silver is a little loose on the glass but not removable. There is one tiny flea bite on the side of the glass, one air bubble, and one small dot on the inside that I can feel but not see easily (might be something during manufacturing).

Size: 2 1/4 by almost 1 1/2 inches (5.7 x 4.3 cm)

This brooch is made from three vintage buttons, two remarkable celluloids and a glass. The bottom button is gold (or mustard) with gold sparkles on it. On top of that is a marbled gold celluloid button with a crimped edge. It rises in a dome, in the center of which is a black faceted glass button or bead.

The brooch is almost 1 1/2 inches (3.7 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

The leaf is a vintage brass button, with a raised leaf and darker stippled texture on the surface. It's centered on a dark purple plastic button (which may look brown or black depending on the light). This button is circular but has an indented textured wide stripe across the surface that looks like a brush stroke. The plates are cream colored with a spring green line around the perimeter and a transfer design of green hydrangeas, purple violets, and a hint of orange in the background. The back of the plates is marked with the Harker logo of an arrow, the words Semi Porcelain, and the initials HP and Co. underneath.

These plates are in good condition for their age. There are no cracks, but a fine crackle overall. One plate has a small flea bite on the underside of the rim. One plate has a fading in the floral pattern and green line. All the plates have a light brown staining, though it is more noticeable on some plates than others.

Size: 6 1/4 inches (15.8 cm)

The bottom button is a round celluloid button with a carved oval section in the middle and concentric, circular carvings. In the middle of this I've placed a smaller ocher bakelite button--an octagon with a pressed ridged design--and finally a small bone button. The bone button has two large sewing holes that look like eyes, which are lined up with the bakelite buttons two holes so you can see through to the bottom layer. It's beautifully printed on a fairly thick matte paper; it has a slim border and is labeled below "Pase natural de Antonete; printed in Spain." Reus's signature is in the lower left.

Reus was born in 1912 in Valencia, where he became a well-known painter, draftsman, and graphic designer. In the forties, he was hired as a designer of bullfighting posters in the lithographic workshop Ortega, where he met Roberto Domingo (a major bullfighting artist of the 1920s), who became his teacher and model. Reus died in 2003.

The print is in very good condition, with a small amount of wear around the edges.

Size: 9 5/8 by 12 5/8 inches (24.4 x 32 cm); actual scene 9 x 12 inches (22.8 x 30.5 cm)

Note: I have three more posters of this series, which I will also be listing in my shop. It's red, white, and black, starting with a black button (celluloid perhaps) with a textured surface and five little notches around the edges that for some reason reminds me of gingko leaves. On top of that is a white mother of pearl button, and finally a shining red plastic cut-out button with a curling leaf.

The pendant is 1 3/8 inches (3.5 cm), and the bail is silver plate.
Antique Indian Idol Box, in Wood and Glass

$120.00
This beautiful and rustic wooden box is a 19th century idol box from India. It has a hinged front door with a carved circular opening and pane of glass, through which you can see the idol (in the pictures, my brass Ganesh). The box has curved edges around the top and a tiered adornment on the top of the lid. There are holes in the tops and sides; a metal hanger at the back for hanging on the wall; and on the left side a rusty screw, probably for hooking the door shut. The glass is held in the frame on the inside with a few nails; the glass appears to be original to the piece.

This is quite an old piece and has a few missing pieces of wood, primarily around the bottom. The surface is distressed, with vestiges of paint in a few places. The hinges are rusty but secure, and it opens and closes easily. I bought this from a dealer in Asian antiques, who told me he got it from a temple in India.

This would look fabulous with a small Indian idol or the ornament of your choice (perhaps a small bust or vase), but something shiny or light colored would be best.

Size: 7 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 4 inches deep (19 x 12.7 x 10 cm). The glass window is about 3 inches across (7.6 cm).

Note: Ganesh is not included.

This set of vintage tin litho noise makers can still shake it after all these years. Included are one Mexican troubador (the kind of noise maker that you spin) and two shakers with dancing couples. The handles are all wooden.

The senor and one of the shakers are made by US Metal Toy Mfg. Co. This shaker features swinging dancers--harlequins on one side, and New Year's festivities on the other. The third noise maker, which is unmarked but appears to be older, shows a clown and Spanish senorita on one side, with a group of stylish 20s looking revelers on the others.

So how cool are these? They've got some wear, yes, but are as loud as the day they were made. The newer shaker has a big dent on one side. All three have a small amount of rust and no small amount of dirt, but I'll leave that up to you.

Size: The largest of these is 5 1/4 inches long (13.8 cm)

Also see my second set of noise makers here:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11851895

The base is a celluloid (I believe) button with different shades of caramel and brown in a marbled design. On top of that is a square-ish mother of pearl button that is off-white with highlights of blue, green, and pink. Finally comes a small orange cut-out button. Its color ranges from bright orange to ocher, depending on how the light hits it, but its textured surface (combined with the mother of pearl underneath) often seems to glow.

The brooch is about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

The card was printed by S&L Company in Germany and is exquisite (my photos don't do it justice). The border, flowers, lines at the top, and a faint "Best Birthday Wishes" (lower right corner) are all metallic gold ink. The background is a brilliant blue.

The postcard is unused postally and is in excellent condition, with minor corner wear and some small stains and yellowing on the back.

The hat is covered with a meandering pattern of bugle beads. The design in front looks like a bird, head down (and minus head), or perhaps a flower with two leaves to the side. In addition to the bugle beads, it has some square black beads that are attached on loops, forming a small pile of beads in the center and on two sides.

The hat is in excellent condition. I could find no missing beads and no wear to the velvet. The interior is red, covered with a netting, and with a grosgrain ribbon. The shape is a little distorted, but shouldn't make a difference when it's being worn. It has no tags.

Size: 20 3/8 inches (51.7 cm)

The button features a flower in slight relief on a gently curved surface, and the blue is a bright cornflower color that really pops. It's centered on a shining black celluloid wafer button, a molded button with a design of radiating lines surrounding the blue button. The rosary consists of small (4 to 6 mm) faceted art glass beads in brown with a white stripe. The chain is brass with two bead caps on the larger beads. It has an unusual brass central medal of the sacred heart of Jesus. A vintage cabinet key dangles from a string of beads below the medal, and a wire-wrapped yellow bakelite button hangs next to it.

The necklace down to the bottom of the central medal is 24 1/2 inches long (62.2 cm). The key dangles about 5 inches below that (12.7 cm). The total length of the necklace from the back of your neck is about 17 1/2 inches (44.5 cm). The mother of pearl button has carvings forming a curved four-point star; the thickness of the button is an indication that it's quite old. The brass button is circular but with a raised square center; it's decorated all over with circles and other shapes.

The pin is is 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

The design has touches of gold with yellow, black, blue, and pink. The box is stamped with a K in a circle and Made in Japan on the bottom. I would guess it dates to the 1930s or 1940s.

This box is in only fair condition, with chipped paint, some surface grime, and one crack on the rim of the lid. The inside is still clean and would be great for storage, but to avoid further chipping I'd suggest not handling the box every day. It would be absolutely gorgeous as a display piece.

Size: 7 inches across and 2 inches tall (with a softly domed lid) (17.8 by 5 cm)

This Is Your Life Vintage Rosary Necklace

The locket is rectangular and made of silverish metal (it looks like it had a gold-tone plating at one time, but that has largely worn off). It comes with two pictures, but you can easily substitute your own. The rosary is made of metal chain (brass, I think) with 33 pearl beads. It has a central medal of silver-tone metal; the locket and skeleton key hang below this.

The necklace down to the bottom of the central medal is 26 inches long (66 cm). The key dangles about 6 inches below that (15.3 cm). The total length of the necklace from the back of your neck is about 18 3/4 inches (47.6 cm). Note that it does fit over my head, but if you like I can add a brass lobster claw clasp for convenience (just make a note in the Message to Seller when you check out).

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

1950s Straw Hat with Faux Pearl Bobbles

The hat is labeled Sterling Lindner Davis, Cleveland, which was the name of the landmark downtown department store (known for it enormous indoor Christmas tree) between 1950 and 1958.

This hat has a flat black crown and two stacked white "rings" of sorts underneath, with black velveteen ribbon between each layer and two bows in the back. A gold knot on the right side of the hat ends in the two pearl balls, which bob as you walk. A wide velvet ribbon goes around the inside of the hat, making it a comfortable fit.

The hat is in good to very good vintage condition. The straw is in great shape. The pearl balls are missing a few pearls and have some others that have lost their coating (though the overall effect is still there). The veil has about a half dozen small or very small tears.

The hat is labeled size 22; it measures 21 3/4 inches (55.2 cm), but sits nicely on top of the head so would fit larger sizes as well.

The cup is light pink on the outside, white on the inside, and has a small purple and green decoration inside, as well as gold trim on rim and handle. The saucer also has gold trim and is pink on top, white on the bottom. Both are marked bone china, Colclough, made in England.

Colclough was founded in 1897 and became part of Ridgway Potteries in 1955. They're well known for their beautiful porcelain and bone china tea sets.

This set is in very good condition, with slight wear to the gold trim and a small, almost undetectable fleabite on the underside of the saucer.

Size: The teacup is 3 inches tall (7.6 cm). It has long diamond designs in relief around the sides. The glaze is simply beautiful.

A number of companies working in Morton produced what is often collectively referred to as Morton pottery. The latest of these operated from 1922 until 1976. This piece, like much of Morton Pottery, is unsigned, but it has a small orange sticker identifying it as Morton. I haven't been able to verify it beyond this but will update this listing if I do.

The pot is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks but a crackle on the glaze in spots.

Size: About 4 inches tall (10 cm)

Since his death, Armour's pieces have become even more collectible and rare.

This round tray is a heavy piece (more than 1/8 inch thick), decorated with a half dozen large flowers and leaves. The perimeter of the tray is upturned and wavy, and the edges are hammered in a pleasing pattern. The tray is in good vintage condition, with some scratches and stains but mostly on the back.
Vintage Japanese Yellow Majolica Pitcher or Creamer

The pitcher is Japanese majolica, hand painted in a deep rust brown, pink, and green, with a black line around the rim and in the middle of the handle.

The pitcher is probably from the 1920s to 1930s. The bottom has a mark of a cherry blossom with an H in the center and says Hand Painted Japan. It was made by Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. (Shoten means it's by a company that sold items from its own kiln). The company closed in 1947.

The pitcher is in good vintage shape for its age, with the fine overall crazing typical of this type of pottery. The yellow background has discolored somewhat, especially on the bottom fourth of the pitcher, but is still a pleasing color. There is one small fleabite on the spout that is undetectable except on close study. I couldn't find any other cracks or chips.

Size: 4 1/2 inches across the top (11.5 cm) (excluding spout and handle), and 3 1/2 inches high (8.8 cm)

$30.00
This necklace is practically hypnotic. It combines two vintage buttons--one a slightly yellowish silver celluloid button, with a raised art deco design; and the second, a round metallic button with an op art starburst effect that really reflects the light. The combination is both elegant and fun.

The pendant is 1 3/8 inches (3.5 cm), and the bail is silver plate. It hangs from a velvet cord that is about 1/4 inch wide and 20 inches long (50.8 cm) and closes with a silver plate lobster claw clasp. The cord can be lengthened or shortened on request, or I can substitute a leather cord.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

Vintage Original Prints, Costumed French Provincial Couple (set B)

$80.00
A charming pair of original prints that appear to be hand silkscreened. They are marked French Provincial on the back (though the costumes appear German). The pair are framed. The woman appears to be wearing everyday clothes (a scarf and apron) but the man is a little dressier, with a feather on his hat and meerschaum pipe. The prints bear crests--a lion on one, an eagle on the other. They have lovely details on the costumes and simple faces.

I bought this (and a matching set of prints also listed in my shop) from a woman in her seventies who said she remembered them as a girl. I believe these might be from about the 1930s or earlier. The printing is very nicely done in eight or more colors, including a metallic ink. The prints are unsigned but the man has light penciled numbers (erased and hidden by the frame) that seems to be an an item number (from the dealer who framed these, obviously sometime after they printed).

The frames are lovely 1 inch wide, 1 1/4 inch deep wooden frames with black outside and gilt inside. They are fitted with hardware and ready to hang. A tag on the back gives a line number, frame number, order number, and Subject: French Provincial. Note that I did take the man out of his frame to see if there were any clues to the prints origins (it confirmed these were hand done), but all has been replaced as it was.

The prints are in good to very good condition; though the paper has yellowed, the colors are still bright. The man shows a little water damage to the right (next to the frame). The woman has a little dirt trapped beneath the glass. The frames are in very good condition but could use some touch up on the black rims.

Size: 7 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches (18.3 x 24 inches)

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to see more views. Also check out the matching set of prints here:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_2&listing_id=33118261

I'll give 10% off and combined shipping if you buy both sets, but please contact me first so I can adjust the listings.

The bakelite button is olive to kelly green, depending on the light. It's octagonal and has a curving surface that gives the pendant some subtle angular lines. The silver button depicts a stylized deer (or mountain goat perhaps?) on a stippled background.

The pendant is 1 1/2 inches (3.7 cm), and the bail is silver plate. It hangs from a black leather cord with a silver plate lobster claw clasp.
Quadruple Plate Vintage Teapot by Richfield

It has heavy embossing on the spout and handle, with flowers and ridges. The sides are engraved with more flowers and leaves. The lid is hinged and has a little circular finial on top. I believe this dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. It holds about 4 1/2 cups.

The teapot is in excellent condition. It has a fair amount of tarnish (though some has been cleaned up) but little wear to the finish (I found one small spot on the lid). There are a few scratches. This teapot is still quite useful but would also be wonderful for display on a shelf or for use as a vase.

Size: About 9 inches from spout to end of handle, and 6 inches tall (22.8 x 15.2 cm)
Mad Hatter Mr. John Mod Tall Straw Hat, circa 1960s

$72.00
From the era of tall hats, this mod straw topper by Mr. John is an impeccable artifact from the swinging sixties--still perfect with the right mini-skirt and go-go boots. It's made from a light, tightly woven straw, and has a very small brim in the front, disappearing to nothing in the back, and an embellishment of fabric leaves and folded, striped grosgrain ribbon that look like something off a military uniform. The hat goes straight up 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) and has a flat crown and is made to sit on top of the head. Inside there's a grosgrain ribbon, lace trim, and a lining of netting, plus the Mr. John label adorned by red ribbon and rhinestones.

The hat is in excellent condition. It does have some light staining on the grosgrain ribbon, but no flaws in the straw itself.

Size: The hat measures 20 1/2 inches (52 cm) around the inside circumference, but could easily fit a larger head.

One of the glitterati among mid-century U.S. milliners, Mr. John--John Piocelle, or John P. John as he dubbed himself--led a sophisticated, glamorous life in Hollywood and produced some of today's most sought after vintage hats. He was also noted for work, before their split in 1948, as half of the John-Frederics duo, whose most famous hat was the straw and green velvet bonnet worn by Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind.

I'm not sure the purpose of the hanger, but it has cross bars that could perhaps be used for hanging plants or the like--be creative! The piece can be hung vertically or horizontally.

This wrought iron treasure is hand made and very rough. The woman I bought it from had it outside for years. This ornate button perches in the center of a black celluloid button with an unusual curved, ridged pattern.

The pendant hangs on a silver plate bail from a black leather cord with a silver plate lobster claw clasp.
Brownie Vintage Button Pin

Or maybe you always wished you could have been a Brownie (a junior Girl Scout). Either way, this pin's for you.

A brown tight-top celluloid brown button forms the base. On top of that is a creamy yellow bakelite button with a textured surface on one half. And finally comes a small brown button from an old Brownie uniform from the 1960s. It's a little crackled but you can still see the Girl Scout insignia and, if you look closely, a dancing Brownie.

The pin is 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

This vintage red glass powder jar or dresser jar is a perfect combination of practical and pretty. It was made by Avon for Persian Wood Beauty Dust, circa 1950s. It still has the powder puff and a whiff of its original contents, but would also be great for jewelry, coins, flower petals, paper clips, or just on its own.

The jar is heavy glass, painted red, with swirl marks on the sides in two places. The lid is red metal with what appears to be a printed and embossed cardboard insert and a silver tone metal flower for a handle. The top of the lid has a band of gold with embossed flowers and an interior ring of red with winding gold vines.

This jar is in good vintage condition. It has no chips but does have a few places where the paint has scratched off, particularly on the bottom. The lid has a small amount of wear to the red metal and some damage to the surface on the gold area of the lid. The Avon label is gone.

Size: 6 inches across by 2 inches tall (15.2 x 5 cm)

It's labeled Winner Original, and also has a label from Vonnie's, Little Rock. The hat has a wide brim and tall crown. It's made of beautiful, tight-woven straw with a design on top, and it fairly shines in the light. A wide green and pink grosgrain ribbon with a floppy bow accents the hat, and also includes two short vintage hatpins with faux pearls and green plastic "gems."

This hat is in very good vintage condition. It has three small spots of discoloration on the crown and a few small spots on the brim where the straw has pulled up (see photos). Still quite a lovely hat.

The hat size is 22 inches (56 cm). The brim is 12 1/4 inches (31 cm) across (front to back), and the hat is about 5 1/2 inches tall (14 cm).

It has gold trim and is stamped on the bottom, Made in Japan. This type of redware pottery was popular in the 1940s and 1950s. The teapot holds about 6 cups.

The teapot is in excellent condition, with no cracks or crazing. There is one small chip on the unglazed portion of the lid and a few spots of wear on the gold paint, but no other issues that I could find. Note that it's a little lighter than it appears in the pictures.

Size: About 8 inches from spout to end of handle, and 6 1/2 inches tall (21 x 16.5 cm)
Wedgwood Jasperware Vase, Sage Green with Cupid and Psyche

This is a 5 1/2 inch footed vase that flares outward. The top is decorated with oak leaves and acorns. Psyche is tied to a tree and looking fearfully up at a butterfly on the branch. Cupid stalks her with arrow drawn. The vase includes three other figures: a small child, a woman with a peacock and a staff, and a woman with a cornucopia of flowers.

This vase is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. It's marked Wedgwood, Made in England, with the marks separated, indicating it was made sometime between 1908 and 1970.

Size: 5 1/2 inches tall and about 4 inches across the top (14 and 10 cm)

I'll be listing a number of other Wedgwood pieces, so check back often!

It's made from two vintage buttons, a chunky black celluloid and Victorian black glass with gold luster. The Victorian button is large and textured with a jumble of circles like a pile of pebbles. It's an elegant combination.

The pin is 1 1/2 inches (3.7 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

It's a bandeau type hat that expands to fits most size heads (even mine!). There's an opening in the top and a little mound of sequins right in back, where the light pink veil is attached. In with the little circular rosettes of sequins are three pinkish green silk leaves with faux pearls on the ends. The structure of the hat is well made with pink felt and covered wire. It's got a union label, but no other labels.

The hat is in excellent condition. It may be missing a sequin or two--I couldn't find any signs of that--but the veil is without holes or snags.

It is oval with a lovely ribbed design around the outside. The glaze is off white and shiny. This would be a wonderful planter but also could serve as a centerpiece vase or would look great on a mantle or shelf.

The pot is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. The inside is clean, so it doesn't look like it was ever used as a planter. The bottom is marked Haeger 40200 U.S.A. I believe they made this design in a number of sizes, but this is the largest I've seen.

Size: About 12 inches long, 6 1/2 inches deep, 4 inches tall (30.5 x 16.5 x 10 cm)

The silver button has lost some of its finish so has the look of old silver. It is dome shaped with 12 triangles radiating from the middle, like fan blades--reminiscent of a Native American design. The black button has four indented sections that reflect the light.

The pendant is about 1 1/2 inches (3.7 cm) and is attached to a silver plate bail. It hangs from a black leather cord with a silver plate lobster claw clasp. It would make a great trinket or jewelry box, or could be used for holding letters, supplies, or other goodies. The wood is a little darker on top and slightly honey colored on the front. The stringing has a diamond and bar pattern with light and dark wood. The box has a knob on the front and hinges that are "stapled" into the wood (little bent points inserted), rather than nailed. This is the original finish, I believe.

This box is in very good vintage condition, with some wear to the finish but few scratches and no damage. The lid is slightly askew but the hinges are secure. Someone wrote on the bottom.

Size: about 11 1/2 wide inches (at the bottom), 6 inches deep, and 3 inches tall (29.2 x 15.2 x 7.6 cm)

Porcelier is an Ohio company that made china and porcelain products, primarily teapots and light fixtures, between 1927 and 1954. This looks like one of their earlier works (1930s or 1940s). It's vitreous china, which is made by applying a vitreous solution to the china, giving it a glossy surface and strength. This teapot is cream or pale yellow with brown stripes and green, orange, and brown cattails on six of the eight faceted sides.

The teapot is in excellent condition. It has one small chip on the inside of the lid (not visible with the lid on) and one area on the inside bottom with some dark lines and a small circle where the glaze has come off. The bottom of the pot is blackened, probably from sitting on a wood-burning stove.

Size: 6 1/2 inches tall x 9 1/2 inches wide (spout to handle) (16.5 x 24 cm)

The right-facing woman is not finely carved but has some nice details and is quite attractive. The setting has the traditional C clasp. It dates to the 19th century.

The brooch is in good condition. The cameo has a small chip in the lower right corner (see photos). The setting shows some signs of repair on the pin side of the clasp, and the gold is a little bent in a few places. The cameo does shift in the setting; though it does not seem in danger of coming out, a trip to a jeweler might be in order.

Size: 1 3/8 inches long (3.4 cm)

All three hang from an antiqued brass chain with a lobster claw clasp.

The chain is 24 inches (61 cm), but can be lengthened or shortened on request. These reindeer are from the same mold, and both have little loops for hanging on the tree. They also stand on their own and are in very good vintage condition aside from the issues noted.

Each reindeer has lost one horn--on opposite sides, so when they face each other it's hard to see. One has red eyes, and the other does not. Neither has any breaks or tears aside from the horn.

These deer are approximately 3 x 3 inches (7.6 x 7.6 cm). I'll take care with them, but obviously they're being sold as is.

To see my other celluloid and plastic animals, look in the Toys section here:

http://www.etsy.com/shop/calloohcallay?section_id=5304267

Note that these are collectibles, and not meant to be played with by children under 12.
From the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the piece is 8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm).
Antique Eyelet and Lace Toddler Dress and Photo, Circa 1910

$85.00
This precious little dress from the early 1900s is made of sheer white cotton eyelet material with a window pane pattern. It has lace and ruffles around the yoke, lace around the sleeves, and an extra layer of lace under the ornate embroidered hem. It's just adorable, and best of all comes with a photo of its original owner--a sweet blonde toddler from about 100 years ago. You can see in the photo that she's also wearing a gold bangle, a locket, and black patent leather shoes; this was a well-off little toddler, and the dress was one of her best.

The dress is in excellent vintage condition. You can see it does have a few small brown spots here and there, a little yellowing to the fabric, one smudge on the back hem, one small repair to the fabric that looks to be original, and one small tear to the lace near the left shoulder. Of the three vintage mother of pearl buttons, one doesn't match and was probably a later replacement. Still quite wonderful for a century old dress.

There is no label. It looks to be hand sewn, mostly by machine, and is beautifully made with flat felled seams. Please zoom in for details. Unfortunately, the number of photos here is limited, but please convo me if you'd like to see more views or have any questions.

Size: Length from shoulder to hem: 20 1/2 inches (52 cm)
Length from shoulder to shoulder: 9 1/2 inches (24 cm)

Vintage Black Beaded Evening Bag or Purse, by La Regale

$50.00
This beautiful vintage black evening bag or purse is perfect for a night on the town. It was made in Macau by La Regale. The design, which is the same on both sides, features a triangle at the top and then a series of swirls in round, cylindrical, and square beads. The die cast metal frame is gold colored with a twist knob catch. It has a long metal chain (which could be shortened), attached by an S hook. The interior is black satin material and has a small pocket.

This bag is in very good condition. I believe there might be five missing beads--not noticeable at all given the pattern and color. The inside and chain are in excellent condition; the frame is sturdy but has lost a little of its color.

Size: 7 1/4 inches (17.8 cm) at the widest point; 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm) long. The chain is 42 1/2 inches (108 cm) long.

It features a vintage celluloid button shaped like a hexagon with a stamped design of lines of and texture. The colors are dark forest green and a lighter greenish tan in a camouflage pattern. A few parts from a vintage clock or watch adorn the center of the button, and three larger brass gears are attached to the back. The pendant hangs from an antiqued brass chain, attached with a lobster claw clasp.

The pendant is about 2 1/2 inches wide by 2 inches deep (6.5 x 5 cm), and the chain is about 19 inches long (48.2 cm) but can be lengthened or shortened on request.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.

Mismatched Japanese Shakers or Hatpin Holders, Flow Blue and Hand Painted

One is flow blue transferware, with a lotus flower and scrollwork. The other is white porcelain with a hand painted flower and blue stripes. Neither is marked, though I believe they are Japanese and quite old.

The holders are in good vintage condition. The flow blue one has a hairline crack along one side of the base but is structurally sound. No chips on either. One cork between them.

Size: Around 3 inches tall (7.6 cm)

Lucite Swirl Vintage Button Brooch

The button is large and thick, with a clear border and a silver middle accented by eight gold dots and a swirly central design. Because of the way the Lucite is cut in the central section, the dots appear to be pyramids, and the colors and shapes change depending on the angle you view the brooch from.

The pin is 1 7/8 inches (4.2 cm), and the pinback is silver plate.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in colorful hand-made pouches--ready for gift-giving, but easy to open if you want to peek first.
