Batts - Labyrinth Series SARAH - Wool/Silk/Bamboo/Soysilk/Angelina - 4oz

$20.00
These delicate batts are inspired by Sarah's (Jennifer Connelly) gown at the masquerade ball in the movie "Labyrinth". I started with soft white wool and added in hand-dyed bamboo, silk and soy silk fibers dyed in many different pastels - blue, green, peach, pink, yellow and purple. Her dress shimmered and she was draped with gold and silver jewelry, so I also added five different colors of angelina. If you like sparkle, these batts are for you!

This listing is for four batts, each weighing one ounce. I have three sets available, plus another listing for 2 ounces if you'd like more. The photos are a representative set from this large batch and your batts will not exactly match the ones shown.

My yarn and fiber is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home. Yarn spun from this fiber must be hand-washed or else it will felt.

Batts - BLUE STAR FLAG - Wool/Corriedale/Angelina - 4oz

$20.00
These soft and sparkling batts were inspired by the November Phat Fiber theme, "Home for the Holidays".

The blue star (or service) flag is a white rectangle with a red border and a central blue star. The star symbolizes an immediate family member serving in the U.S. Armed Forces during a time of war. For the past six years, I’ve displayed this flag. My sister was often unable to be “home for the holidays” because she was in Iraq. These batts are dedicated to all of the soldiers who can’t come home to their families this year.

Batts are made from soft white wool, red Corriedale wool and three colors of angelina. They have a lot of glitz because my sister loves things that sparkle.

This listing is for four batts, each weighing one ounce.

My yarn and fiber is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home. Yarn spun from this fiber must be hand-washed or else it will felt.

Roving/Top - CORFU - Merino - 4 oz

$14.00
This lovely 64s/21.5 micron merino wool is incredibly soft and lofty. It was kettle dyed with Greener Shades dyes. It was inspired by my favorite book, "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell. The book was set on the island of Corfu and this yarn is how I imagine the colors of sea around the island. It's a pale but vibrant combination of blue, teal, pink and purple with a bit of white still showing through. It should spin into a cushy yarn for next-to-skin wear or it may be felted.

This listing is for a 4 ounce (113g) braid of fiber. There is one available.

My yarn and fiber is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home. Yarn spun from this fiber must be hand-washed or else it will felt. Fiber was well-rinsed after dyeing, but some residual dye may rinse out during the first few washes.
It was kettle dyed with Greener Shades dyes. It is primarily yellow with bold spots of red, orange, green and brown, plus striking streaks of black that remind me of tiger stripes. It should spin into a cushy yarn for next-to-skin wear or it may be felted.

This listing is for a 4 ounce (113g) braid of fiber. It was kettle dyed with Greener Shades dyes. The colors remind me of Jaco beach in Costa Rica, where the blue Pacific Ocean laps against black volcanic sand. It's a very vibrant teal with hints of blue and green, and random blotches of black. It should spin into a cushy yarn for next-to-skin wear or it may be felted.

This listing is for a 4 ounce (113g) braid of fiber.
Batts - Labyrinth Series HOGGLE - Alpaca/Corriedale/Silk/Firestar - 4oz

Hoggle has his cowardly moments when he faces Jareth, but in the end, he turns out to be a total softie and a true friend to Sarah. In honor of his soft heart, these batts are made with fawn and rose grey cria alpaca from local fleeces I processed myself. I blended in some hand-dyed corriedale and silk and two colors of firestar. Since he loves jewelry so much, I had to add some sparkle.

This listing is for four batts, each weighing one ounce. I have a total of 12 oz available.

My yarn and fiber is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home.
Yarn - KING - Wensleydale - Worsted, 220 yds

$48.00
This jumbo skein of two-ply yarn was spun on my wheel from custom-dyed roving from NaturalObsessions here on Etsy. I saw this colorway on another fiber and had to have it in Wensleydale. The blue and orange are very rich and saturated with hints of olive green.

Wensleydale is a long wool breed. Their wool forms loose curly ringlets up to 12 inches long. It has a natural sheen that almost looks like silk has been blended with the wool. It's not next-to-skin soft like merino, but this is a dense, drapey, lustrous yarn that would work well for a shawl, outwear or accessory knitting. It's more resistant to felting than many other wools.

Weight: 6.9 oz
Yardage: 220 yards
WPI: 10 (worsted)

Although this wool is less likely to felt, I recommend hand-washing for best results. This yarn has been washed, but the dye may bleed a little during the first wash.

Yarn is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home. All of my yarn can be wound into center pull balls at no additional charge. Simply leave a message to seller when you make your purchase.
Photos can't show just how much this yarn twinkles in the light. It's full of glittery pink angelina that makes it really fun and cheerful. This is one of three fibers dyed in this custom colorway for the May Phat Fiber Sampler Box. I asked for colors found in spring-blooming crabapple trees, so you'll find soft and medium pink for the blossoms, green for the leaves, and random streaks of brown for the branches. Compare the three yarns to see how the different fibers took the dye differently. These were fun to spin!

I have two skeins of this yarn available. Each one is:

Weight: 4oz
Yardage: 205 yards
WPI: 13 (DK)

Superwash wool is machine washable, however due to the bright dyes and angelina, I recommend washing separately on delicate or hand-washing for best results. This yarn has been washed, but the dye may bleed a little during the first wash.

Yarn is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home. All of my yarn can be wound into center pull balls at no additional charge. Simply leave a message to seller when you make your purchase.

There are two skeins of this yarn available. The photo of both skeins was taken outside in the sunlight and shows bamboo's beautiful sheen. This yarn is soft with a nice drape and and would be perfect for lace or another project that showcases that shimmering quality.

Weight: 4.15 oz
Yardage: 240 yards
WPI: 15-16 (Sport)

Merino/Bamboo is hand-wash only. The name came about because it reminds me of all the luminescent creatures twinkling in the blackest depths of the ocean.

Weight: 3.5 oz
Yardage: 175 yards
WPI: 16 (Sport)

Superwash wool is machine washable, but since this is a slightly thick and thin spun singles yarn, I recommend washing separately on delicate or hand-washing for best results. This yarn has been washed and reskeined after spinning.

Yarn is from a non-smoking, but cat friendly home. All of my yarn can be wound into center pull balls at no additional charge. Simply leave a message to seller when you make your purchase.
