How many pearls can you put on a necklace? An awful lot, I discovered. I put all kinds of glass and plastic pearls together for this necklace and earring set, and made dangle after dangle after dangle after.....well, you get the picture! It's a perfect holiday piece or gift.

The bright silvery necklace chain is 20 inches in length, and is adjustable with the lobster claw clasp to go several inches smaller for a smaller person or to wear closer to the neck. The pearls range in size from 3/8 inch to 3/4 inch in diameter, and most of them are on headpins with ruby red Swarovski crystals at the end. The matching earrings are measure about an inch in length.

This is one in my series of Warrior Hearts. They each are bound, girded and sometimes armed for battle against all of the scary and hurtful things that can damage our tender hearts. They are small and should fit in a 2 inch cube. This one is hand formed from polymer clay, baked, gilded, and then sealed with a glossy glaze.

This one has a coat of many colors as her armor. She seems to be growing a beautiful new skin marbled in pinks, reds and turquoises over her previous skin of sunset orange and purple. Is the new one better? Who's to say? But a girl's gotta change her outfit every so often, don't you think?

Yum! This two-sided pendant is hand-molded in white polymer clay from my unique molds made from vintage jewelry. One side is a lovely rose, and the other is a stylized flower. Then comes the good part. It is baked and then glazed with the most yummy shade of caramel...ummmm...clay - don't eat it! It only looks delicious!

It is buffed by hand to a delicate sheen, and has one of my signature wire wrapped bails. The pendant measures 1 inch wide by 1 1/4 inch high, and including the bail it is a total of 1 3/4 inches.

Carnelian Luxe

Copper, carnelian and pearls, oh my!

Continuing my adventures in resin, this set is pure luxe. And it's convertible! The pendant is hand colored resin, hand cast in a hand made mold of a chandelier crystal. Gotta hand it to me! The necklace and earrings are a symphony in carnelian rondelles, many different copper beads, and brilliant faux pearls, with a splash of bold copper rolo chain and hand made wire hook closure, which makes the length adjustable. The necklace can be worn with or without the pendant, since I made one of my signature wire wrapped bails for it, and it's just large enough to slip right on and off the necklace.

The necklace is 18 inches long, the pendant is 1 1/4 inch wide at the widest point, and included the bail is 2 3/4 inches long. The matching earrings are 1/4 inch wide by 1 1/2 inches long.

This set is truly one of a kind.

This is one of my Overgrown Heart series of pendants. They are flat, some would say boring hearts that are in the process of being overtaken by loveliness, and in this case, a tiny bit of bling!

Long Lavender Asian Pendant

This color is a departure for me - it's a shade of purple somewhere between pastel and royal purple, like a medium lavender. It has been molded from an Asian piece, with three images: a grasshopper, a bird, and a child, or perhaps a Buddha. Enchanting!

It has been antiqued in black, and has black wire attached for hanging. No sealers have been necessary for this piece - it was sanded and buffed to a shine.

The image is from "Lady with an Ermine", digitally collaged with a page from an old dictionary. The lady and her little buddy are transferred onto polymer clay and covered in glossy resin. I've made a fancy bail from polymer as well to add to the slightly medieval feeling of the piece.

Pale pink resin beads and antiqued brass chain, circles and drops and a just-so-slightly asymmetrical construction complete this special piece.

The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches wide by 2 inches tall, and the necklace is long at 24 inches.

I think her name must have been Erminia. She loves her little ermine buddy.

Isn't she the sweetest thing? Isn't she what we all wish we were when we were little? Well, at least for me!

The image is from a painting by William Bougereau entitled "La Reverence." I have transferred it to polymer clay and topped it with a deep well of resin. I've made a special fancy bail for it, and hung it on a sweet little antiqued brass chain.

The pendant measures 1 1/4 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches long, and the chain hangs at 18 inches.

Bats aren't just for Halloween anymore.

This adorable little everyday bat is done in one of my special techniques. He is molded in polymer clay, covered in real metallic powder, baked, and then sealed with liquid polymer clay, and rebaked. Then he is buffed to a shiny, shiny finish.

Little Batty's wingspan is 2 3/4 inches, and he is 1 1/2 inches tall. He is wired onto a fine gauge silver chain and closes with a lobster claw clasp.

He would love to be your own personal familiar, or if that is too much of a commitment, just your friend. Your choice.

Okay, a poet I'm not, but I do think this necklace is awfully romantic, don't you? A blend of ivory and black - there is a vintage black plastic rose and a faux ivory rose made by moi in polymer clay. Both of them are set in antiqued brass filigree and linked together in love.

There are sand opal Swarovski crystals, charcoal gray fire-polished glass beads, and the other beads look like marble to me, but since they were scavenged from an old necklace that I've had for many years, I can't be certain. And they are all linked together with wire and bits of antiqued brass chain, with a handmade (by moi) wire hook closure (not pictured,)

The length of the necklace is 22 inches, and the pendants add another 3 1/2 inches.

And it really will go with all her stuff!

White Florals

Molded from a vintage piece of ivory and a piece of jewelry in polymer clay, this pendant is 1 1/2 inches in diameter, 2 1/8 inch long including the bail and 3/8 inch in depth. It is hand buffed to a sheen; no sealers were used in this piece.

The first side is a rose, and the reverse is a jewelry floral. The edges are silver colored, and it has been antiqued with black, but the color of the rose is the color of the clay. The bail is wire wrapped by hand onto the piece in black steel wire.

This faceted floral component is the softest sagiest green, such a great color to combine with a mixture of green beads, or earthy tones - works well with black and brown, and can be used with silver, black or antiqued findings. It has been antiqued, sanded and buffed to a natural sheen.

It has steel wire eye rings for attachment, and if you would like to use your own findings, you can clip off the wire and use the holes in the piece itself.

It measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest points both vertically and horizontally. The back is also finished.

Lost at Sea

She waits at the window with her lovely head bowed, silent. Waiting. Waiting for the full moon when once again the Selkie will take the form of a human man and meet her on the sands. Nothing else matters until then.

This long necklace was a joy to make. I've transferred the image of one of my digital collages to polymer clay, coated with liquid clay, baked, buffed, and painted the frame with metallic paint, and then patina'ed it.

The fish was molded in polymer clay, covered in metallic powder, baked, and then patina'ed, and then covered in liquid clay, baked again, and finally buffed to a sheen.

There are three molded copper clay beads,some clear and green sparkly glass beads, some turquoise ceramic beads, and odds and ends of antiqued brass chain.

The necklace hangs at 30 inches, with the fish and the girl adding 4 inches. The fish is 2 inches wide by 1 1/8 inch long, and the pendant frame is 1 1/4 inches wide by 2 inches long.

Lovely Vintage Faux Pearls

Aren't these just the most lovely, delicate set of vintage faux pearls? Dainty and divine.

The pearls range in size from 3 mm to 7 mm. There are five strands, with the shortest one measuring 14 inches in length, and the longest at 18 inches.

They are held together with a beautiful sterling box clasp with floral details. The tag is still on the necklace, and it reads: "Victoria" on one side, and "Queen of Simulated Pearls" on the other.

The coloration is mostly golden, with a couple of the strands being on the whiter side. I have not attempted to clean them in any way - I'll leave that up to you!
