Gaffers Chalcedony (G-109) and Blue Chalcedony (G-1095) Frit Sampler - Size 2 - 55gm (2oz)

$5.70
Gaffer Glass Chalcedony & Blue Chalcedony 96coe frit for use in lampworking. A sampler set offering 1oz of each.

These are both explosions of colour cunningly disguised as very ordinary looking brownish/grey blue glass chips in a plastic bag. I kid you not!

G-109: offers the most stunningly vibrant shades of fuchsia pink, purple, dark through to denim blues, teals & greens can emerge.

G-1095: offers the most gorgeous blues, turquoise, teals, greens & purples can emerge. Subtly different to the G-109 in the palette it offers.

Work both of these hot, let the bead cool - then pop it back into the flame again & watch it work it's magic

The bead in image 3 shows Blue Chalcedony frit over a Chalcedony base, they offer a great palette individually & a fantastic palette when used together.

A little goes a long way!

When using a base other than 96coe, simply use 5% frit to the total weight of the bead.

I have successfully used this on 104coe bases for well over three months now, with no compatibility issues at all.

This pattern is also sometimes referred to as "Queen's Braid" and in the delicate version pictured here is made from 20 gauge (0.8mm) sterling silver jump rings - especially suitable for a lady.
To give an idea of scale this bracelet is 5mm across.

This bracelet comes with your choice of a strong sterling silver lobster clasp or toggle clasp and will be sized to fit your wrist perfectly.

Please measure and include your wrist circumference and clasp preference when ordering. All of the bracelets with lobster clasps include 1" of adjustment chain, so it is best to measure the tightest that you would possibly like your bracelet to be (maximum length 9").

If required, bracelets can be gift wrapped.

This is my solution.

Each 3"+ headpin is made of a solid 19 guage Sterling Silver wire with the chalcedony worked directly onto the end resulting in a ball of glass approximately 6mm in diameter.

Please Note: This listing is for one headpin only.

I've also cut them a bit longer as I find they have a nicer balance, especially for those of you who enjoy making longer beads.

10 x 3/32" (2.4mm) Diameter 11" long mandrels

Please check out my listings for all of your other mandrel requirements;

1/16” (1.6mm)
5/64” (2mm)
5/32” (4mm)
3/16” (4.8mm)
1/4" (6.4mm) Hollow

If any of the sizes you require have sold out, or you require a custom length – just convo me.

A note on 316L stainless steel: it has a low carbon content, which essentially means that it is more stable at higher temperatures than other types & has the best corrosion resistance. Something to consider when it is constantly being exposed to both flame & water. The melt point on 316L is 2500 degrees Fahrenheit, glass is considerably lower than this.
