Another painting in my cave painting series.

This painting is 17 1/2 inches x 17 1/2 inches [44 x 44 cm.] including the frame and is painted on a masonite board. It has a piece of netting glued over the silo so it is also considered a collage.

I was thinking about all the changes in our environment and all the layers of civilization that these changes affect. There are the fish in the sea, the patterened wall, the silo with the netting that looks like metal gridwork and the cave paintings on the cliffs in the background [the past] And the moon still comes up every night.

NOTE: Please convo me before purchasing this piece. It is now in a gallery show called "Objects of Desire" and I will have to retrieve it before making the sale.

The Pearl Diver is a mixed media collage and is 14 1/2 inches x 16 1/2 inches x 6 inches deep. [37 x 42 x 15 cm.]

She is made from the face of a mannequin and has hair made from natural sea sponges painted to look like seaweed. The pearl "drops" are from a Victorian window decoration: they have tassels made from tiny brass chain. There are shells, beads, a piece of Chinese play money, glitter, and frogs.

She is constructed on a piece of plywood that has been textured and the frame is painted a pearlized aqua color.

She will be carefully packed and shipped by priority mail.

This is a unique, one of a kind piece of art, please look at the detail photos too.

This sweet painting was actually inspired by the wonderful frame that I found at the thrift shop. It's a wide wood frame, antiqued with a black finish. Frame is 12 1/2 inches x 14 1/2 inches.

The painting is an autumn scene, from my imagination, I'm not sure just where it is, but it's definitely a place I'd like to be!

I would love to sell it before the year ends, so I have reduced the price from $450.00 to $300.00 .

The luna moth is one of the most exotic creatures on this planet. They sometimes stay for days in one place on a wall. This one is perched on a wall in Mexico, with a bull fight poster, the house number, and a nicho with a statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The wall is old, with peeling paint and plaster.

I have used acrylic paints and the images of the poster and the nicho are collaged into the work. The house numbers are stencilled on.

This is an original painting/collage on canvas and stretched on heavy-duty stretcher bars with the image painted around the sides. No frame is necessary. It is 16 x 16 inches square. [40.64 cm.]

Orange Tulip Original Painting

This bright tulip is my wish for spring on a cold February day. The bulbs are still sleeping in the ground but they're thinking of how they will look when their leaves and their flowers shoot up in another couple of months.

Painted on two 12 x 12 inch canvasses, gallery wrapped with the sides also painted in blues and greens. The canvas was first coated with tissue paper to create the textured background, then painted with acrylics and varnished.

They can be hung touching, as one piece of art, or with a small space between them. I have them hung with a 1 inch space between and they seem to float and yet connect.

The large lotus in this painting is enclosed in a circle of copper paint and is surrounded by the night sky with a copper moon.

At the bottom koi are swimming among the leaves and stems. The fish are behind a copper wash which has been combed through to give the illusion of water. Zoom on the detail photo to see this better.

I painted a similar lotus two years ago for a yoga studio in Connecticut.

Desert Wheels Steampunk

Desert Wheels is a large acrylic painting on canvas. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas so it is ready to hang - no frame needed.

I imagine this painting as an old abandoned factory out in the desert where a mad scientist [or maybe an artist] has invented a machine that makes big balls of turquoise; the machine has gone wild and the turquoise balls are spilling out into the foreground.

I have used texture paint and sanded through some of the areas to create the look of old rock formations. Also some copper paint to highlight the wheels. It has been varnished with a low sheen varnish for protection.

I will have it professionally packaged and shipped via UPS.As I have no idea what this will cost, the shipping is included to the United States. If you live near me and wish to pick it up, I will adjust the price by $50.00 less. I live in central North Carolina.

This is one of my favorite new paintings, there are cave drawings, stars in the sky, goldfish at the bottom, lots of magical stuff.

It is 12 x 12 inches [30x30 cm.] and painted on canvas stretched around the stretchers,
the sides are 1 1/2 inch deep and are painted as part of the painting.
It is wired on the back and ready to hang.

There's a lot of texture in this painting, you might be able to see it better if you click on one of the detail photos and then zoom in on that.

I painted this one Thanksgiving when we actually had snow here in NC. It is heavily textured with brightly colored teepees with flags waving. Details in copper paint.
