Sometimes It Takes A Fairy Print

$8.00
This is a print of an original drawing done on an old book page. I love the idea of an ordinary looking person being a fairy, it has a whimsical feel. The print is done on high quality cardstock and is approximately 5 x 7 inches, perfect for a small ornate frame.

I have kept a theme, of color and style. There are words: The Search, The Early Days, The First Departure. There are also two journaling stickers that say: 1.Explore:to investigate and eamine something carefully. to travel. to search and seek out. 2. grow: to come into being or be produced naturally. t develop to thrive, as a living being, to increase in size, quantity.
I thought these would be good for a college students progress, an educational trip, etc. All in mocha, deep mauve, off white. Copper staples, and eyelets for decoration. The written pieces are from a vintage book, and I have aged them with cocoa colored pigment ink. Thirty pieces in all.

I use a hand carved rubber stamp that I made to look like an old wood block print and stamp it on book pages that I remove from old books to create my altered books. Then I glue the pages onto magazine covers, inserts, or fliers that are heavy weight paper or light weight cardstock quality. Then I hand cut these with a pair of scissors and punch holes in them. You can use these as hang tags, or scrapbooking embellishments. You will get an assortment of backing colors because of the recycling element. There are eight in each package, approximately 2 1/2 x 1 inch.

The first step is to blow the egg. These come from free range Arucana hens that my friend raises, and she blows the eggs for me. The shells are very strong.
Then I cover them with my hand marbled tissue paper, then rubnbuff and a varnish. The arms and legs and heads are made from sculpey or papier mache, that I hand form or mold in my own molds. I then add little treasures that I have saved just for these. I like the bright colors and magickal feel that this technique creates. Perfect for scrapbooking, journaling, altered books and collage. These are four to a sheet which makes them fine for book entries, but if you want them smaller for scrapbooking, when printing with the Windows Print Wizard just enter 2 in the per sheet box and they will be half size and you will have twice as many! Or cut and paste them from Windows Paint and resize them as you wish. Or if you are really uncomfortable with this, just leave the words "double sheet" on the message to seller and I will send you the double sheet version. Just email me after purchase on paypal and I will send these in 300 dpi PDF format. Then you can print as many as you like, on any kind of paper. Without the watermarks, of course.

These are made by cutting up store purchased boxes (such as:kitty litter, oatmeal, ice cream, car parts, etc.)then adding drawers, secret compartments, and the distinctive curved and ribbed lid. Then they are covered with papier mache, sanded and painted. Then they are covered with decorative papers, or hand marbled tissue, and finally paint, rub ons and varnish. Then the fun begins. Sculpey knobs, hand made hinges and clasps and collage. Finally special feet are added. This process usually takes about a month to complete. Each one is distinctively different. I have made them in the past with different themes for special customers, so custom orders are no problem. Each trunk measures approximately 18" high by 12" wide by 5" deep.

I print them on quality cardstock. All you have to do is cut them out. (I hate those little *chads* that you get from punch outs) The eyelets are scaled to fit the standard holes in a rotary punch. You can even add eyelets of your own. There are two sheets (8 1/2 x 11)so you get 24 tags. Save postage and download them. Just send me an email after purchase, and I will send you a PDF file so you can print as many as you like.

Spring Flowers Stab Bound Journal

$20.00
This is a little journal I decided to make after looking at this watercolor and deciding it wasn't to be framed. But it was painted on 300 lb. watercolor paper, which is extremely sturdy, so I made it into a book cover. Since the painting was of daffodils in pots I chose to use a spring green 22 lb. bond weight paper for the inside, and the outer hinges. Journal contains 80 pages (160 sides) and measures 4 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches.

After downloading these, you can resize them, and use them as journal spots, backgrounds for ACEO's, or collages, graphics (business cards, banners, newsletters). That's why I haven't put any lines in them, to make them more versatile. After purchase, you will be sent these as a PDF file at 300-600 dpi, so include your email information.

These are paste-papers (the actual paper, not a copy), hand marbled papers, and painted papers. The mulberry paper or banana paper that I use for the lining is like fabric, very soft, so it won't scratch your valuables. I also cut it a little large so there are folds to further protect things.
For the actual process, I first cover the box or rebuild it a little with papier mache. Then I cover it with the special papers. This involves careful trimming and gluing for neatness. For the decorations, I use embossed stamped images, and polymer clay pieces that I have made molds for. I then paint them and varnish them. I use dot velcro for the closures because these clutches are light and I think hardware would take away from that.
Size is 8 inches wide, 5 1/2 inches high, and 1 3/4 inch deep.

As a final step I age them with Cocoa pigment ink. You can use these as hang tags, or scrapbooking embellishments. You will get an assortment of backing colors because of the recycling element. There are eight in each package, approximately 2 1/2 x 1 inch.

Enough to make two collaged cards (and probably other stuff too.) I can't throw anything away, and have found that this is a great way to share my hand decorated papers, and digital images that I create for my artwork. It makes a great gift for children, and crafters. I have used them as a workshop for many years.

Shown are two examples of cards made with the kit.

They were originally made from palm leaves. I make the covers using several steps to create the rich patina. The front has a faux wax seal and an embossed moon stamp that I hand carved.
It measures 3 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches and has 6 pages.
The quotes inside are:
By Imagination we live
Still, what I want in my life is to be willing to be dazzled. To cast aside the weight of facts and maybe even to float above this difficult world. Mary Oliver-The Pond
One never notices what has been done. One can only see what remains to be done. Marie Curie
Don't ever give up your dreams and never leave them behind. Find them, make them yours, and all through your life never let them go.
Creation-an affinity with the unknown is what first attracts us. We are inspired within to create something-representing our self, or someone like us. Lily Shoen
He who obtains has little....He who scatters has much.

I used three basic designs and altered them a little, so if you have a theme you can repeat them without being boring. I had so much fun making these and using them myself I thought I would share them. After purchase just email me at Donnalda@msn.com and I will send them to you as a 300 dpi PDF file. You can print these on any paper that will go into your printer. I think it is fun to print them on cardstock also and cut around them with decorative scissors.

There is also a mini file folder that you can use for holding photos, notes, or clip art on your altered book or scrapbook pages. I have also included a pattern for a card to fit the library pocket, in case you want to print something on them you can just open a text box in any of the patterns (to get rid of my writing, just put white in the background of your text box).
These could be printed on cardstock and you can cut out the patterns and trace around them, or copy the patterns in your own software editing program and add pictures or text.

This is for the large notes and measures 3 1/2 inches square.
