Purple and green amethyst stones of various cuts are clustered together in this organic drop necklace. This is the perfect piece for those born in the month of February, which is right around the corner. The combination of these two shades of quartz assures something different for the amethyst lover. Like a bushel of grapes hanging from the vine, this natural drop of complimentary colors hangs from a strand of twisted liquid silver beads that was strung onto nylon, coated, stainless, steel wire for extra durability. The whole drop falls to a length of 35mm (just under 1 1/2") from a 16" chain adjustable to 18".

History and Metaphysical properties:

Amethyst: This form of quartz was named from the Greek word “amethystus,” meaning “not intoxicated.” According to ancient Romans, amethyst helps one to overcome addictions, particularly alcoholism by reducing withdrawal symptoms. It also enhances mental and emotional stability. Brings understanding to death and rebirth by healing one’s grief. And it’s been known to be beneficial when dealing with legal problems and money issues.

Prasiolite: Green amethyst is produced when heat is applied to a certain type of amethyst. Most amethyst turns yellow, orange or brown when heated, but amethyst containing iron compounds with specific properties will turn green instead. Most of the prasiolite on the market has been heat treated even though some natural sources of green quartz has been found. These occurrences are two of the same though, for its been speculated that heat produced naturally by geological events during formation of the mineral caused the production of the naturally green deposits. The type of amethyst from which green amethyst is made is found in only a few locations, the main source being Brazil. It is also found in Arizona, the California-Nevada border, and Zimbabwe. It's also been reported that deposits of naturally occurring prasiolite has been found in Southern Brazil, Canada, Poland, Tanzania, Namibia, Nevada and New Hampshire. It is often found side-by-side with purple amethyst crystals in igneous, metamorphic and volcanic rock. Metaphysically, Prasiolite helps to link the physical and spiritual aspects of life, activating the heart as one's center of conscious. It is said to strengthen one's mind, emotions & will, and to attract prosperity.

It's hard to capture all the sparkle and shine of this gorgeous glass teardrop in pictures, but I did my best. I'm very excited to finally offer a piece of jewelry made with genuine opals. These beautiful opals are known as Andamooka jelly crystal. Andamooka is a mining town in South Australia, that produces precious opal. Today, most of the world’s opal is mined here and other parts of Australia. Opal that has a jelly or crystal quality like these, is pure opal and is usually transparent or translucent with visible color from within and on the surface of the stone. The color in these opals remind me of the synthetic glass opalite, (but way better) for they seem to pick up other colors surrounding them. I had to combine them with tanzanite because they matched so well. There is a lot of purple and blue in these opals with flashes of green here and there.

The result is this unique teardrop of intertwining tanzanite, opal and sterling silver beads. This delicate teardrop measures 1" in width and hangs almost 2" in length from a sterling silver, oxidized chain.

Opal: "October Birthstone"
Opals were one of the most highly prized gemstones to the Greeks and Romans. The early Greeks believed Opals embodied the powers of foresight and prophecy. The Romans considered them to be a symbol of hope and purity. As the Roman Empire grew, so did the demand for opals. A Roman Senator, Nonius, chose to be exiled rather than give his valuable opal to Marc Antony who wanted to give it to his lover, Cleopatra. Legend states that one Roman Emperor offered to trade one-third of his vast kingdom for a single Opal. Arabs thought that Opals must have fallen from heaven in flashes of lightning giving them their unique fiery play of color or "Opalescence". A mineral of the chlorite group, seraphanite originates from the Lake Baykal region of Siberia. This rare gemstone which is primarily a deep green color, gets its name from "Seraphan" because of its feathery inclusions of silver-colored iridescent formations, that often resemble angel wings. No two of these stones are alike and this 23mm x 30mm flat oval stone featured in this choker style necklace is not shy of these unique, pearlescent characteristics. This exquisite butterfly filigree is adorned with flat back, Swarovski crystals of various colors. This filigree pendant is one of the finest quality antique, brass filigrees that I have come across. It has beautiful detail which you'll notice in the pictures with an oxidized silver plating that was done very well and will not loose its color. Shown in the pictures are 4 crystal color variations that I can do. I can do many others that aren't shown, so don't hesitate to ask. The butterfly filigree measures about 2" in width and falls to a length of 1 1/2" which hangs from a sterling silver, oxidized chain. I usually attach this piece to a 16" chain that is adjustable to 18", but I can do any length. The price will go up if its much longer than a starting length of 18".

The only people I ever met who like the stone peridot are those who do not have it as their own birthstone and are lovers of the color green. For those who are born in August, who think their birthstone is this ugly, lime green... I beg to differ. The cut and the style of jewelry created with this stone can be done in such a way that even appeals to the peridot haters. I've tried hard to do that with this necklace. This makes this necklace appropriate for everyday wear and tear. The beads are all strung onto nylon, coated, stainless steel wire for extra durability. Part of my vintage collection, this necklace was created with an amazing antique, Celtic style filigree. A chest filled with treasure is overflowing with jewels. It's enough to make any pirate or lover of gems drool. Mouth watering precious and semi precious stones are spilling out, revealing their rich and vibrant colors.

I wire wrapped this square frame by hand, coiling and twisting various gauges of sterling silver wire. The metal was then oxidized to bring out the detail in the wire work. Cascading from the top of the pendant are jewel tones of beer quartz, iolite, peridot, citrine and the very rare chrome diopside. They are all represented in various cuts. Every bit of them is high quality and perfectly faceted to let their clarity sparkle like no tomorrow.

The pendant has a diameter of 35mm (just under 1 1/2"). It's suspended by a double, oxidized sterling silver chain. The chain length is 16" adjustable up to 18 1/2". In this piece I combined two faceted solitaires and a teardrop cut of prasiolite with London blue topaz briolettes. All of these stones are AAA grade, gem quality that possess perfect facets and clarity. If you haven't noticed it yet, I really like green amethyst. Prasiolite can be found in a lot of my jewelry. I find it to be very complimentary to many other gems because its color is soft and subtle. This combination of sage green with the dark aqua blue of London topaz has been a big hit at my shows, so I was eager to list this piece onto my website. Prasiolite: Green amethyst is produced when heat is applied to a certain type of amethyst. Lodolite is a very interesting form of quartz. It has been called many things because of its inclusions that take on the appearance of a mini landscape within the crystal. The pattern and color of these inclusions are unique to each stone. Lodolite is becoming a very popular stone on the market. I've been searching for some high quality pieces that have a lot of clarity with a hint of the mossy green inclusions that it's known for. And now I have found it! Of course I'm immediately drawn to the emerald cut, so I picked up this 18x25mm size stone that I set with sterling silver wire work. This wire wrapped ring was created with two textures of sterling silver wire. No soldering was involved to create this stunning beauty. Trapped in twists of sterling silver is an amazing crystal of rough cut, pink touramline. I'm not a pink person, but this stone's rasberry color is so yummy. You can see through the pictures how much this stone shimmers with rich, saturated color. It was once believed that ancient Persians thought the Earth rested on a giant sapphire and its reflection was the reason for the sky’s blue tone. September's birthstone has been beloved for centuries and this piece is my tribute to its beauty. Faceted denim blue sapphires are intertwined with prehnite and Bali silver beads in this wire wrapped, coiled pendant. I finished the piece off with 2 teardrops of high quality sapphires that measure 4x5mm each. These stones are rich with color and have very nice clarity. The center drop has more sapphires clustered around a gorgeous, translucent prehnite stone of excellent quality. I then oxidized the silver the "Green Way," by using an egg. This process takes a little longer but at least it's "oh natural" just like the materials used to create it. Most people don't realize this, but citrine is actually amethyst that was heated to a certain temperature, which turns the stone yellow or golden brown. When the process is not completed you are left with a little bit of both, hence the stone, "Ametrine." I've been searching for some nice ametrine for years. Often you find a strand of beads where one is yellow and one is purple, but never one piece that shows both. I finally found them in this large, flat teardrop cut. There is true definition between the yellow and purple within the stone. I kept the design simple with other high quality citrine and amethyst stones in oval, solitaire cuts. These stones have pointed backs that create wonderful, sparkling facets. Balinese, sterling silver beads add a touch of detail between these delicious gems. The rest of the chain is made up of glittery gold, Czech glass beads. I never go all gold, so this piece does have a two toned look but its very subtle. Another drop of amethyst dangles from the end of the extension chain as well. The chain length is 15 1/2" adjustable to 17 1/2". This is an amazing antique filigree with wonderful detail and design reminiscent of midevil jewelry. I have to say it's one of my favorites. If you are into Renaissance or gothic jewelry, you will appreciate this necklace. The filigree is made out of brass that has been silver plated and oxidized with an antique silver finish of excellent quality that will keep its color. I accented this piece with Swarovski crystals to create a hint of sparkle, even though this piece needs no other adornments. I then attatched it to an oxidized sterling silver chain that measures 16" adjustable to 18 1/2". The pictures show two available colors, crystal or siam. However, I can make this piece in many other crystal colors.

A triangle cut of hematite frames a crystal cal, Vintage Swarovski crystal in this contemporary style necklace. Balinese silver beads add that extra touch of detail. This geometric pendant which hangs from a silver bail, slides over two strands of Czech glass beads in contrasting shades of grey. The pendant hangs about 1 1/2" long with a width of 1".

This fun bracelet was created with goldstone round beads in sizes 6mm and 12mm. Balinese silver frame these sparkling beauties for added texture and design. This memory wire style bracelet is finished off with sterling, liquid, silver. This neutral and glittery stone will go with just about anything. This bracelet stretches to fit many wrist sizes. I do make these in two sizes however. The one modeled in this listing is on the smaller wire which fits tightly around a 7"-7 1/2" wrist. This is another piece from my vintage collection. It's made with an antique filigree that dates back to the 1920's. This is a very nice quality filigree with sharp detail. One of my new favorite stones is featured in this casual, choker style necklace. Neutral browns and soft yellow colors radiate from this gorgeous bi colored, lemon quartz stone. This stone is of excellent quality and has wonderful swirls of smokey brown within its color. With its perfect clarity and precision cut facets, it demands your attention. This alluring piece was created with two different textures of sterling silver wire that I shaped, hammered and then oxidized to bring out their dramatic detail. The frame consists of 6 pieces that were wire wrapped together creating this unique shape. Behold the eye of sapphire stones and a sparkling solitaire of citrine, at its focal point. A 12mm x 17mm faceted, flat pear of chocolate brown smokey quartz, swings in its silver frame. Above the eye sits A trillion cut of smokey quartz and briolettes of dark blue kyanite and golden, yellow citrine. Towards the top of this exquisite center piece, on both sides are clusters of more citrine, blue sapphires and oval solitaires of smokey quartz with dangles of kyanite, rich with vibrant color. All of these gems are of excellent quality that carry precise facets and brilliant sparkle. This piece falls to a length of 3" with a width of 3" at its widest point. It's attached to a sterling silver, oxidized chain that measures 16" adjustable to 18 1/2". It's finally spring in New York even though we jumped ahead from winter straight to summer. And it will probably snow tomorrow. That's New York for you. Yet, this necklace is the perfect accessory to your spring time wardrobe. Romantic and delicate sparkle to wear with that summer dress. This necklace features warm, 5x7mm lemon quartz, oval solitaires that have pointed backs to create amazing facets that radiate in the sunshine. They are complimented by lime, green, peridot, oval solitaires that are vibrant and clean of any inclusions. Lastly, briolettes of aqua, blue apatite bring their own play of brilliant color. Balinese silver beads add a touch of detail and contrast between these delicious gems.
