27 carats of natural Brazilian ametrine hang from wire which I have hand-coiled into a quirky shape I call "Fusilli," which is a macaroni I'm fond of. Means "corkscrew" in Italian. Note the small detail of the knotted headpins which the ametrines are threaded on. Another quirky touch. Simple, yet charming earrings, they hang approx. 1.5" from bottom of earwire.

I have captured a frosted, glowing, vintage pressed glass square in a netted bezel of fine silver and copper for the pendant in this necklace. The netted bezel has been slightly patinated for texture & contrast. The vintage glass is utterly captivating, appearing to subtly glow on its own. While the front of the glass features an abstract floral impression, the back is faceted. A crown of kyanite and tiny Songea sapphires dangles across the top.

The pendant is framed by simple London blue topaz coins which have been hand-wired together with 18k gold. Necklace closes with a simple hook and eye clasp. The "eye" has been overwound with fine silver and 18k gold. 17".

A labor of love, this one: each 6mm princess-cut peridot is hand-wired to a tiny, delicate 18k gold chain. When I say tiny, I mean tiny! Each loop in the chain measures 1.5mm. Yes, that's right -- millimeters. The overall effect, however, is a shimmery, organic chain of pale songea sapphires which offset the peridots beautifully. A 12 carat lemon quartz pendant hangs from an 18k hand-coiled flourish, and tiny sapphires drape across the top. Measuring 17", this necklace closes with an 18k hook and eye type clasp. All the wire used to weave the stones to the chain is 18k gold as well.

These warm mixed-metal earrings are based on a curlicued and tendrilled hammered copper armature, or frame, which has been overwound with fine silver. Chrysoberyl is a stunning gemstone, and I've loved it since I was a child. It is the fourth hardest stone after diamond, ruby, and emerald, and can be found generally in the yellow-green color you see in these earrings.

A heavy, nicely draping piece -- this necklace features roughly faceted aquamarine nuggets which have been hand-wired together with 18k gold. The focal point is a vintage glass button that looks almost like cut steel (which it perhaps was made to resemble) which has been captured in a crocheted net of fine silver wire. Tiny blue-grey songea sapphires dot the rim of the bezel.

New for Gemella Jewelry this season is a mix of metals incuding copper! I use pure copper in its rich rose-toned state, which has been lightly patinated for contrast and visual texture.

Entirely handcrafted from 18k gold wire and sapphires, this necklace features a unique center pendant of vintage Czechoslovakian impressed glass which has been captured in a gold crocheted weave. Dangling from the pendant is a simple 18k gold flourish.

To offset the pendant, I wired delicate pastel-flavored sapphire carved leaves, sprinkled with a few tanzanites, on either side.

Measuring a little over 16" in length, this heirloom-quality necklace closes with a solid 18k gold hook and eye clasp.

I have to say that this project was truly a labor of love for craft and material.

This is a new, flawless tabiz-cut blue topaz which has been set in an organic, hand-forged 18k bezel. Attached to the bezel is an intricate pendant bail with a finely crafted catch and safety. I purchased this pendant about a year ago from a fine gold and gem supplier in California, but need to destash it.

The topaz in the bezel and with the bail weighs 41.1 carats. The topaz itself measures 22mm at its widest by 22mm. Altogether, the entire assembly measures 1.5".

Retail price on this pendant was $1,026.27.

I went overboard at my last gem-buying expedition in New York City, so I'm destashing this irresistible strand of faceted, polished champagne/slate gray natural diamonds. (Kept the blue ones for myself, though!)

These are natural diamonds from Taj Company, a noted and reputable gem dealer in New York City. The entire strand weighs 18.10 carats; price per carat is $52, which is exactly what I paid at Taj. I am not marking this price up one bit, and what's more -- free shipping!

The largest diamonds in this strand measure just about 1mm; the smallest are approx. 1/2mm.

Please note: These diamonds require *30 gauge* wire to pass through the drilled holes. 28 gauge *might* work with some of the diamonds, but 30 gauge is a sure bet. And remember: you can't drill the holes any larger -- these are diamonds!
