As seen in Step by Step Wire Jewelry, Summer 2008, Vol. 4, No. 3, page 26.

This kit grew out of a request from a delightful customer, BCKPhotography. I, too, had admired these earrings in the magazine, but this chainmaille weave requires 4 different gauges and 8 different inner diameter jump rings, and I wasn't about to cut all those rings just for moi! So, a big thank you, BCK - if any project screams "kit me," it's this one!

I've added an additional size jump ring at the bottom to dangle the cutest little sterling silver donut bead. The earwires are 21g sterling silver wire with a 2mm ball. The length of the earrings is 5cm, or a tad under 2", though they appear shorter next to the ruler. Your kit will contain everything to duplicate the earrings in my photos: Sterling silver jump rings in 9 sizes, 2 ss earwires, 2 ss donut beads.

You'll love wearing these earrings or giving them as gifts, either woven by you or as a kit for your chainmaille friends. And, they're a joy to weave - I found this weave to be quite easy. A lovely lady named Anne, a skilled chainmailler, contacted me recently - she wanted to recreate the gorgeous Lace Mail Cocktail Collar in the book Chain Mail Jewelry (pg 83), but she wanted to weave it in sterling silver 18g wire. After a little chainmaille wizardry, as Anne calls it, I determined the 18g wire jump ring inner diameters and amounts.
