Chainmaille Kit - Inversian Persian Sterling Silver Earring Kit

$20.00
As seen in Step by Step Wire Jewelry, Summer 2008, Vol. 4, No. 3, page 26.

This kit grew out of a request from a delightful customer, BCKPhotography. I, too, had admired these earrings in the magazine, but this chainmaille weave requires 4 different gauges and 8 different inner diameter jump rings, and I wasn't about to cut all those rings just for moi! So, a big thank you, BCK - if any project screams "kit me," it's this one!

I've added an additional size jump ring at the bottom to dangle the cutest little sterling silver donut bead. The earwires are 21g sterling silver wire with a 2mm ball. The length of the earrings is 5cm, or a tad under 2", though they appear shorter next to the ruler. Your kit will contain everything to duplicate the earrings in my photos: Sterling silver jump rings in 9 sizes, 2 ss earwires, 2 ss donut beads.

You'll love wearing these earrings or giving them as gifts, either woven by you or as a kit for your chainmaille friends. And, they're a joy to weave - I found this weave to be quite easy. In the magazine you'll see the option of adding larger beads, which is also very cool. Here's a link to the magazine, if you need the tutorial: http://tinyurl.com/4onaue

Happy mailling!

p.s.
Chainmaille Bracelet Kit - Unisex Full Persian in Jeweler's Brass

$17.00
Weave a beautiful Full Persian chainmaille bracelet that repeatedly will be mistaken for gold! These beautiful jump rings are precision coiled and sawcut from wire that is an alloy of copper and zinc (85% copper/15% zinc). There is no nickel in Jeweler's Brass, so those with nickel allergies are safe. With their true-gold color, these gorgeous jump rings are an affordable substitute for gold or gold-filled jump rings.

To my hand, and pliers, Jeweler's Brass jump rings feel similar to sterling silver, though a bit harder, and more resistant to marring - a bonus!

Jeweler's brass is also known as Merlin's gold, jeweler's bronze, red brass, nontarnish brass, and looks fabulous on its own or when combined with sterling and/or copper jump rings.

All of our jump rings are burr-free and tumble-polished to a high shine. You'll never need to file or smooth the edges of our jump rings.

This kit contains enough 18g jump rings and a well-matched TierraCast toggle to weave an 8.5" bracelet. You'll also receive the handy scoop in the thumbnail as a thank you! If you have questions, feel free to be in touch!

I have a set of these trusty tools at my bench and use them daily. I also own a set of *high-end* tools, though I'm selective when I use them as I don't want to stress them beyond their limits. I don't have that fear with these tools, seeing as they're well-made, sturdy, and reasonably priced. I've been using my original set for over 10 years!

These long-wearing pliers are constructed of STAINLESS STEEL with double-leaf springs, and the handles feature a non-slip ergonomic-style grip for excellent comfort and control. These tools have a brush finish, non-glare surface, and box joint for years of service. Perfect for the beginning to the advanced designer.

This listing is for 2 tools - choose 2 from the following:
-Flat nose pliers
-Chain nose pliers
-Bent chain nose pliers
-Round nose pliers
-Side cutters (Note: Avoid cutting beading wire with wire cutters - it dulls them)

For chainmaille, choose flat nose, chain nose, or bent chain nose - your preference.

All MailleEtc tools are brand new, unused.

If you're new to Etsy, here's a simple checkout guide:
http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

This listing is for 1 tool - choose 1 from the following:
-Flat nose pliers
-Chain nose pliers
-Bent chain nose pliers
-Round nose pliers
-Side cutters (Note: Avoid cutting beading wire with wire cutters - it dulls them. Cut memory wire with memory wire cutters)

If you're new to Etsy, here's a simple checkout guide:
http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

Afterwards, they'll tumble for hours, till they're clean, hardened, and blindingly shiny!

First, choose 14, 16, 18, 20, or 22 gauge wire.

Next, choose the inner diameter for your jump rings from the list below.
Wubbers Tools - Your Choice of 1 (Free Shipping to USA, Canada)

$28.00
I love these tools! I also own a lovely set of Lindstrom Rx, but those I save for finer-gauge wirework. Wubbers are my go-to tools when I need to use a little muscle.

For this listing, you'll choose one (1) Classic Wubbers tool. All MailleEtc tools are brand new and unused.

Choose any 1 from the following list:
-Round nose pliers
-Chain nose pliers
-Bent chain nose pliers
-Medium or small flat nose pliers (small shown in last thumbnail) Request med. or small in note to seller.

The Wubbers Story:

RUGGED:
Wubbers laugh in the face of 12-gauge wire. The jaws are strong without being cumbersome. The Wubbers handles are long and feel substantial in your hand, providing leverage without feeling bulky.

VERSATILE:
Move from heavy to fine wire with the same pair of Wubbers. You won't feel the need to switch pliers when you move from task to task.

PRECISION:
The unique Wubbers finish holds tight without marring your metal. There is a fine line between metal jaws with a finish that is matte enough to hold tight, but also smooth enough to help prevent marring. Wubbers are the best in successfully finding that balance.

PRACTICAL:
Wubbers consistently outperform pliers that cost twice as much.

GENTLE:
The amazing Wubbers handles won't leave your hands feeling 20 years older. The padded grips provide extra comfort and feel nice in your hands. The smooth-action springs help prevent fatigue while the sleek shape of the handles makes them easy to grip.

DETAILS:
They measure 6-1/2 inches long. The unique finish holds tight without marring. The long, padded handles add extra leverage and control.

Note: If you're new to Etsy, here's a quick checkout guide:
http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

$13.00
Oooohhh and aaaahhh... Pure Solid Shiny Copper... these jump rings are gorgeous and affordable. You'll love the look of a bit of copper with your sterling or gold or brass or crystals, gemstones, shell, Czech, or go with nothing but pure copper - I love it, as do my artsy jewelry customers!

Upon your order, I'll coil and precision sawcut your jump rings, using state-of-the art power. After thorough tumbling, your rings will be hardened/strengthened and polished to a blinding shine! You'll want to roll in them! Click to enlarge to see my superflush cuts.

My main photo depicts only a small amount of 16g 4.5mm ID jump rings. I used quite a few from this batch weaving the bracelets in the thumbnails... I was so anxious to do something with these rings, the photos had to wait!

What size jump ring would you like? If you have a weave in mind and you're not sure what you need, or you're a newbie (newbs are most welcome), convo me and I'll help you decide.

When you're ready to order, first choose a wire gauge (AWG):
14 gauge
16 gauge
18 gauge
20 gauge

Next, choose the inner diameter for your jump ring (ID):
-2.0
-2.5
-2.75
-3.0
-3.25
-3.5
-3.75
-4.0
-4.5
-5.0
-5.5
-6.0
-6.5
-7.0
-8.0
-9.0
-10.0
-11.0
-12.0

Note: If your chainmaille pattern or book calls for SWG wire rather than our AWG, please refer to the conversion chart below to determine your desired AWG:

SWG=AWG
16 = 14
18 = 16
19 = 18
21 = 20
All MailleEtc tools are brand new and unused.

Choose any 2 from the following list:
-Round nose pliers
-Chain nose pliers
-Bent chain nose pliers
-Medium or small flat nose pliers (small/3mm tip shown in thumbnail) Request med. or small in note to seller.

*See additional photos here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26802532

Please indicate your choice of 2 tools in the "Note to Seller" box. As a thank you, you'll receive free with this purchase the handy triangle scoop shown in the last thumbnail.

After a little chainmaille wizardry, as Anne calls it, I determined the 18g wire jump ring inner diameters and amounts. I shipped Anne her jump ring order and in quick time she has woven the stunning necklace that you see here in her photographs! I love her choice of beads! Visit Anne's Etsy shop, http://anneshirleycreates.etsy.com, to see her lovely creations. Thank you, Anne!!

This kit contains over 3ozs of jump rings (in 3 different inner diameters), all formed from 18g sterling silver wire. You'll be able to weave a necklace at least 17" long.

There is not a tutorial and there are no beads or clasp in this kit. By varying your choice of beads and oxidizing, or not, you'll be creating a variety of styles, from classic to boho to goth to biker to Victorian to... whatever you can imagine!

Happy mailling!
Bonnie :)

$98.00
Treat yourself to the following set of 4 Classic Wubbers tools (you know you deserve it!):

-Round nose pliers
-Chain nose pliers
-Bent chain nose pliers
-Med. or small flat nose pliers (small/3mm tip - shown in last thumbnail) Request medium or small in note to seller.

As a thank you, you'll receive free with this purchase the handy triangle scoop. All MailleEtc tools are brand new and unused.

Consider the Baby Wubbers tools for small hands and/or if you always work with 18g wire and finer. If you're interested in Baby Wubbers, convo for details.

Note: If you're new to Etsy, here's a quick checkout guide:
http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

Chainmaille Kit - Jens Pind Linkage Sterling Silver Earring Kit

$17.00
Go linear with these delicious chainmaille earrings! Your kit will contain enough 18g jump rings to weave earrings up to 3 inches long, including the earwire, or you could weave 2 pairs of shorter earrings. Maybe you have some great beads to add to your chainmaille? Now that I'm thinking of it, you'll have enough jump rings here for a 5" bracelet; longer once you add beads and a clasp!

JPL is one of those chainmaille weaves that is very particular when it comes to jump ring size, or aspect ratio (AR). The rings in your kit are guaranteed to be the perfect inner diameter for this classic weave. I do not include a tutorial with this kit, so if you need one, make a note to seller and I'll gladly send a link.

I've added the cutest little sterling silver donut bead to dangle from the bottom of your earrings. The earwires are 21g sterling silver wire with a 2mm ball. Your kit will contain everything to duplicate the earrings in my photos: Sterling silver jump rings, 2 ss earwires, 2 ss donut beads.

Happy weaving!

Note: If you're new to Etsy, here's a simple checkout guide: http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

$20.00
I seriously could not live without my digital calipers - I have 2 of them, because I need them wherever I happen to be. This caliper can take four kinds of readings: outside, inside, depth, and step.

With this indispensable tool, you'll instantly learn the inner and outer diameters of jump rings, diameters of wire, sizes of beads and findings, and any other items used in your art. This cool tool also has a depth-measuring blade, for those who utilize such a measurement, and also the ability to measure steps, using the upper jaws. Accurate to 0.001". Operating instructions are included.

There is an on/off switch, but, conveniently, the caliper turns on when you open the jaws, has automatic shut-off, and with a touch of a button switches from measuring in millimeters to inches. If you need an accurate measurement, you need digital calipers.

You'll receive a brand-new, unopened tool, two 1.5V button cell batteries, and a hard-cover, protective case, as depicted in the last 2 thumbnail photos. The first 3 photos are of my personal calipers.

***This item is part of the EtsyHolidaySale! Regularly priced at $29!***

Note: If you're new to Etsy, here's a simple checkout guide:
http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php
