The Shell series is my most personal series of work. Stemming from an assignment in college many years ago, the form of a seashell (an oyster) evolved into the design element you see above. The metal element represents the shell; it is hard and protective. An oyster shell can cut your foot and it is not very pretty on the outside. However, if you look inside the shell you will find a beautiful pearl. What is on the outside does not always reflect what is on the inside. Each piece was designed originally to have a pearl set on the inside, closest to the wearer. Here it has a pearl accent piece on the clasp, making t his piece more affordable.
