Mexican Sunrise - Large Stained Glass Mandala with Macrame and Crystal Weaving

This piece is GLORIOUS! The photographs don't even begin to show it off. It's cut from fancy art glass - a one-of-a-kind design, of course - and features a huge, polished, PERFECT moss agate slab from Mexico in the center. The mandala is framed with lead to give it a strong edge and I've soldered beautiful handmade brass beads from Africa in a pattern around the outside.

The long macrame tail is one of my miniatures, and truly beautiful, using cotton embroidery thread. I laced it with ice-clear faceted crystal beads, many with A/B coating.

It has 2 strong lead loops for hanging, and I treated the entire stained glass section with a warm, copper patina.

The photos show off Mexican Sunrise in the sun, on a living room chair (trying to get that macrame in), the back, details of the macrame weaving, and most of the mandala with a US quarter on it. More photos and/or exact measurements are available - just convo me!

Lovely stained glass panel (medium size) with cut-out leaves in shades of blues and greens. Center shows off a fused tile with dichroic glass that I created here in my studio (properly kiln fused and annealed, of course.)

My panel design is reminiscent of the Art Nouveau style seen in William Morris’s wallpapers and tapestries (WM of Arts & Crafts Movement fame). Created with fusing and traditional stained glass techniques. One of a kind, signed by the artist (me :-) Equally beautiful from both sides.

This is a charming wall decoration constructed from mirrored art glass, cut-glass jewels and a gorgeous polished geode with an open crystalized "eye."

Cut from the beautiful hues of a tropical jungle, the petals surround a genuine Ammonite fossil. The hanging wire is adorned with glass beads in happy colors, interspaced with amber chips.

Ammonites were sea creatures that bobbed in the tropical oceans during the time of T-Rex, 100-140 million years ago. This ammonite fossil, from Madagascar, was legally harvested and purchased. It has been halved and polished to show off its chambers; the back is still raw rock.
