I had a lot of fun creating this quilt!

I made it from an assortment of earthy brown, green and cream colored quilt-quality cotton fabrics, no blocks, nor the frames around them are alike. Each one is machine appliqued using coordinating color thread using a zigzag stitch, on assorted tone-on-tone off-white (cream) 100% cotton fabric.

Two borders edge the quilt, one in a green pebble pattern, and the other using assorted brown fabrics that match the goddesses. I finished with a hand-stitched binding in assorted green fabrics, to coordinate with the goddess figures.

The backing is a 60/40 cotton poly fabric.

It is machine-quilted around each goddess, inside and outside of each "frame", and along the border.

I also washed and dried the quilt to test washability, and it's OK to machine wash, normal cycle, warm water, and then tumble dry on regular! OK to iron, if needed.

This truly one-of-a-kind quilt measures approx. 49" wide and 75" tall. It fits the top of a twin sized mattress (with no overhang). Also makes a gorgeous wall hanging, large sized throw for the end of your bed or back of your couch, or super duper large baby/toddler quilt.

My Perfect Wallet Bright Floral

I wanted a wallet just to hold my cards, driver's license and change/folded bills. I rarely carry the checkbook, and prefer a smaller purse, so I was looking for something just to carry the essentials.

Unable to find that perfect little wallet, I designed my own! After a few tries to get it "just right", this is what I came up with.

A zippered coin purse with a flap that snaps open to hold my cards. The wallet measures 4" x 3.75". It has a zippered section for your coins, folded bills, etc. and the snap flap secures the cards.

This one is a bright red/orange/pink floral on off-white, and the lining is an orange swirl. Closes with an orange zipper on top and a snap tab for the card section. Two pockets hold the cards securely.

All 100% cotton fabrics were used. Hand wash cold, air dry, OK to iron if needed.

Green Man Applique Throw Pillow Cover

The Green Man, here to celebrate the first days of summer with us!

His foliate face is an applique'd creation in green with olivey-brown and black leaf fabric. He is made of of 5 layered pieces, not counting his eyes. Then machine applique'd in a zigzag stitch with dark green thread around each piece on an off-white tone-on-tone cotton fabric.

A coordinating green leaf fabric border, which is the same fabric as the mouth. Hand-made edge piping matches the main applique fabric. Backing is another coordinating green on white fabric. Fully lined inside both front and back (front with interfacing, back with muslin).

All 100% cotton quilt-quality fabrics, and interior seams reinforced with zigsag edging to reduce fraying. This was a lot of work, but I am very pleased with the finished masterpiece!

14.5" square, with rounded corners.

Fits a 14" or 15" square pillow form, available at your local craft/sewing store or Target/WalMart type store. You can also use it to cover older throw pillows that need a facelift!

Envelope style back for ease in inserting or removing pillow for cleaning. Best to hand wash cool water, or spot clean (but it will probably hold up well in a short/gentle/cold cycle).

Machine-pieced in a "crazy quilt" style, featuring the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Gorgeous cotton and cotton fabrics were chosen based on their colors and patterns. "Harm None" is appliqued in a black pattern cotton fabric.

A purple fabric with gold stars borders the quilt, and then I hand-quilted and embellished it with glass seed beads and buttons in red, green, yellow, and blue to also represent the elements. Four loops have been added at the top of the quilt so you can hang it up. Loops can be folded under for use on a table or your altar.

I made this using pretty 100% cotton quilt-quality fabrics with cupcakes on a bubblegum pink background. The top section on both sides features applique'd cupcakes in coordinating pink and lavender fabrics.

I created this kitty from a tan plush fabric. The details are all hand-sewn on (pawprints, facial features, bib), using a cream colored plush fabric, and her nose is from soft pink fleece.

She is adorable and poseable. Paws and tail are weighted with rice so she will hold her position.

She comes with a wide, wire-edge cream color organza ribbon bow, and has green button eyes, slightly mismatched for character.

Seated, she is 11" tall.

My intention was to create a sock monkey with these adorable tan socks with pink daisies on them (I have a thing for daisies!).

The socks didn't want to be a monkey, and little by little this adorable doll revealed herself (with clothing of course). She is 16.5" tall from head to toe. She wears a white eyelet suntop and has a hot pink cotton skirt trimmed with pink piping. Her pink pigtails are tied and adorned with hot pink grosgrain bows to match her skirt and the daisies on her arms and legs. Her mouth is embroidered on, and her eyes are dainty black wooden beads.

The Eye in Hand is most often a symbol of protection. In some cultures it can represent luck, hope.

This symbol is in a cotton print that is tan with teeny tiny red and green florals it is appliqued with the smallest of zigzag stitches onto crazy quilt technique background in deep red tones.

I then hand-quilted and embellished the ACEO quilt with a glass seed beads for the pupil of the eye. The backing is natural cotton muslin and there is a thin layer of batting to add dimension. The edge is zigzag stitched around the quilt in tan to coordinate with the hand and eye.

I applique'd a cheerleader silhouette in orange star fabric (100% cotton) and the word "Cheer" onto a handmade black cotton canvas tote. The outside of the bag is reinforced with heavy interfacing, and the bag is lined with black cotton/poly broadcloth. A strong metal zipper on the inside opens to reveal a super-large inside pocket, the entire width of the bag!

The handles of the bag are the same black canvas and are quadruple sewn for strength. Bag closes with a magnetic snap, and the bottom sides are accented with fabric covered buttons that match the cheerleader fabric.

It is big enough and strong enough to carry a bunch of cheer gear, books, groceries, craft or art projects, and still have enough room for your wallet, keys and other purse essentials! It can even be used as a diaper bag.

Kokopelli Mini Quilt - ACEO

This is for the Kokopelli ACEO Bounty Challenge. It is for sale, or you can WIN it, along with all the other entries!

ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) - approx. 2.5" x 3.5".

This miniature quilt was crafted with assorted bright print cotton fabrics, using a "crazy quilt" patchwork technique. It was then appliqued a brown textured fabric using burgundy thread. His hair is ebroidered with orange floss. I then hand-quilted and embellished the ACEO with tiny glass seed beads in orange, yellow, and red.

I actually drew Kokopelli freehand on the back of the fabric. No stencil or tracing this time!

The backing is muslin and there is a thin layer of batting to add dimension. I then finished the mini quilt with a matching burgundy zigzag edging for contrast.

Dancing Gypsy Pillow Cover - EAST Team Gypsy Challenge

15-inch Dancing Gypsy Pillow (cover) - created in response to Etsy's EAST Team Gypsy Challenge!

Gypsy twirls in her dance.

The gypsy's skirt is three separate layers. The top layer is a red floral pattern cotton fabric, the middle layer is orange satin, and the bottom layer is a colorful patchwork print cotton fabric. The second skirt is decorated with mini steel jingle bells. Each layer is hemmed with a rolled hem and gathered piece by piece. Edges are tacked down to pillow in various locations (so her undies don't show!)

She wears a yellow tie-dye type print blouse with puffy sleeves. Gypsy has three bangles on each wrist, one on each wrist being hand-beaded bracelets.

Her hand-made black bouncy-curly hair is made from cotton/blend yarn and is tied back with a salmon irridescent sheer scarf, accented with colorful sparkly rhinestones. Giant golden hoops adorn her ears.

Pillow base is a purple damask fabric, with a subtle leafy floral pattern. Hand-made piping is an orange pattern cotton fabric with a touch of yellow. Golden glass seed beads were stiched on one by one to the piping. The corners of the pillow cover each have a golden button that resembles a golden gypsy coin.

Back of pillow cover is an envelope-type closure that secures with velcro. Fits a 15 inch pillow form.

The quilt shown is one I made for my daughter. Her team was then the Sturgis Trojans and their colors are orange and black.

This actual quilt was entered in our county fair and took a first place blue ribbon!

Almost all 100% cotton fabrics, in orange and black prints (very few solids-I don't like using solids in a quilt), each block is applique'd with cheerleader themed and school spirit theme items. Hand-finished, hand cut binding, and it's all hand quilted around each image, block and border.

This one measures 44" wide by 59" tall, and has 12 squares.

I would like to create a quilt like this one, but in your school colors, team colors, or favorite theme! I can make one for your favorite gymnast, dancer, princess, firefighter... you name it!

How does it work? I will work with you on colors, designs, etc. You can send me color samples, photos, or refer me to your school or team website for color reference. I will design the quilt for you, and send you a sketch and scan or mail fabric samples for approval. A $100 deposit is required before any work is done. Upon approval of design and fabrics, I will get started. The balance is due before the quilt will be shipped (insured via priority mail)

This price is for a 12-block quilt with borders and sashing like the one shown in the photos, with a solid color or simple print backing. I can make a smaller one or a larger one if you would like (price will vary according to size).

Turn-around time varies between 2-4 weeks, depending on communication time, time to find fabrics and create your special quilt.

Oh, yeah - one more thing. ALL fabrics will be pre-washed prior to assembly, to reduce bleeding of colors, and shrinkage. Your quilt will be machine washable (I suggest cool water, gentle, air dry or tumble on low), and ironable!
