This package of five cards features a reproduction of my rabbit painting "What's Up Doc?". My model is Snoopy, a white rex rabbit owned by an artist friend (www.confusionglass.com). The original painting is one of my "Paintings with Petzazz" - critter portraits created in watercolor on Yupo.

The image shows the proportions of the art on the card. The copyright watermark does not appear on the card. My logo and contact information are on the back of the card (see sample - 2nd image).

These note cards are great for all occasions.

I printed this archival quality reproduction of one of my original "Paintings with Petzazz" on Epson Velvet Fine Art paper with Epson UltraChrome inks.

The reference photo was provided by Jack's owner. Red Horse is not Jack's toy and he knows it, you can see it by the resigned look on his face. The original painting was in watercolor on Yupo with some color pencil.

Horse Face and Eye Equine Drawing - Signed Giclee Print - Matted to 8 x 10 - Ranlett A4C

This is a matted giclée reproduction print of a Belgian draft horse's eye and face.

This archival quality reproduction print of one of my original ink on scratchboard drawings is printed on Somerset Enhanced Velvet acid-free paper that is lightly textured. I used archival, carbon inks in shades black & grey.

I took the reference photo at the Draft Horse Classic (in Grass Valley, CA). The "Classic" horse show is all things draft horse and I always take my camera! I'm so impressed by the beauty and calm demeanor of these huge equines. One year, I took a number of photos of some resting Belgian draft horses. I focused on their faces and used one of the photos as a reference for this drawing.

At the Classic, there's also a terrific juried art show featuring equine art in a variety of mediums from artists around the country. The original "Belgian Gaze" drawing was accepted into the 2007 show.

Made by Polarity http://polarity.etsy.com, this adorable, industrial little locket is created from a recycled steel auto part. The eyehook is silver soldered to the recycled part.

The locket has 4 magnetic interchangeable lids: 3 featuring my art - a Jack Russell terrier, a boxer and a tuxedo cat and one with the definition of the word "pet"!

Your locket comes on an adjustable length 30" 2mm nickel plated brass ballchain. You can cut the chain with scissors to fit. The locket is 1 1/4" diameter.

Just add your favorite little picture inside. Your locket is packaged in a cute little tin, perfect for gift giving or storage.

This is a wonderful, fun creation and I'm happy to have teamed up with Polarity. I purchased two of these to sell at the annual Art Studios Tour and have one left. You can buy more directly through Polarity and she has lots and lots of other locket sets to choose from.

Who could resist this wrinkly-cute face in vibrant green? Ok, maybe some folks don't want a painting of a green pug, but I know there are plenty who do!

This painting is already framed.

This is a watercolor painting on Yupo, one of my "Paintings with Petzazz". When the painting was dry, I added just a bit of color pencil in a few places for enhancement.

Yupo is made of polypropylene, it's slick and bright white. The water/paint mixture isn't absorbed into the surface as with traditional watercolor paper - this results in vibrant colors and interesting swirls and watermarks that appear as the paint dries. Paint can also be lifted easily with a damp brush - wonderful for creating edges, the highlight in the eye, whiskers, etc.

My intent with these paintings is to interpret the subject, not to paint it exactly, although I do strive for accuracy of proportion. I choose a limited color palette and let the paint and paper do a lot of the work. After selecting the image, I'll often choose a title which is related to a color and then come up with the color scheme.

When I took photos of this cat at a shelter a few years ago, I knew she'd end up as the subject of a drawing some day - I just love her unique markings. I'd never seen a cat with a perfect line right down the middle of her nose! You can see from my reference photo (2nd image) that it's really like that. Her markings seemed very graphic to me, hence the title of this drawing.

A perky California Quail on a real ostrich egg - a unique work of art!

I've used pen & ink to draw a quail on this drained and cleaned ostrich egg. The black wooden stand is included. The egg is approximately 6" tall, with a hole in the bottom.

I've been drawing animals on ostrich eggs for 20 years.
I got my start when I worked at the Sacramento Zoo many, many years ago. Each year, the Zoo commissions my illustrated ostrich eggs to be used as prizes at events and gifts for donors. I estimate I've done well over 200 ostrich egg drawings!

I created the original ACEO in September '07 as part of a group auction project (on another site) to raise funds for a family of gorillas in the African Congo. I will print only 18 of this image at this size. I initial each print on the front and sign it on the back. The signature shown on the image above is part of the print, my initials will also be on the front of each print. The title "Gorilla Gaze #2" appears on the back as well as the print number and the copyright year. The print is enclosed in a clear plastic sleeve along with a Certificate of Authenticity (print number will also be included on the COA).

I print these on Somerset Photo Enhanced Velvet archival paper (similar in texture to cold-pressed watercolor paper) with archival, pigment inks in shades of black & grey.

NOTE: I may have some prints that have not been trimmed yet. If you'd prefer one that has approx. 1/4" of white paper left outside the image, let me know when you pay for your print and I'll provide it if possible.

This is a signed, matted, reproduction print of my greyhound painting, "Blue Boy". I used a reference photo of a friend's greyhound who was rescued from the racing system. The original painting is one of my "Paintings with Petzazz" - critter portraits created in watercolor on Yupo.

It's a small print, but it's bright and fun! Just the right size to perk up any space. And, this print is already matted to fit an 8x10 frame. The mat is white, so it'll match any frame you choose. See the second image for mat proportions.

Calico Tabby Cat Original Watercolor Painting, Framed - Ranlett A4C

"Violet" is my skewed palette take on a calico tabby cat. She had an interesting coat pattern, mostly calico, but with some tabby areas - you can see the tabby stripes on her head. I think you can figure how I came up with the name for this painting :)

This is a watercolor painting on Yupo, one of my "Paintings with Petzazz". When the painting was dry, I added just a bit of color pencil in a few places for enhancement.

Yupo is made of polypropylene, it's slick and bright white. The water/paint mixture isn't absorbed into the surface as with traditional watercolor paper - this results in vibrant colors and interesting swirls and watermarks that appear as the paint dries. Paint can also be lifted easily with a damp brush - wonderful for creating edges, the highlight in the eye, whiskers, etc.

My intent with these paintings is to interpret the subject, not to paint it exactly, although I do strive for accuracy of proportion. I choose a limited color palette and let the paint and paper do a lot of the work. After selecting the image, I'll often choose a title which is related to a color and then come up with the color scheme.

"Spring Chicken" is an original painting of a friend's hen. As I like to do with these watercolor paintings, I chose a vibrant color palette. For this one, I selected the colors of spring - green grass and freshly bloomed flowers.

This fun mini painting would make a great gift for a special friend or relative who loves dogs!

I used watercolor & color pencil to create "Puppy Love #4". It's painted on 300 lb hot press watercolor paper which is thick and smooth.

There's quite a bit of interference (irridescent) red & silver paint on this LOVE-ly mini painting, but it's hard to capture that with a scan. The lighter areas of the large heart and the left edges of the paw print are the interference paint. There's also interference paint throughout the background.

I have signed the painting on the front and on the back. I've also included the title "Puppy Love #4" on the back as well as the copyright year. The drawing is enclosed in a clear plastic sleeve along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

I've been creating pet portraits in a variety of media and a range of small format sizes for many years now. I started creating ACEOs in late 2006 and quickly realized that they would be a great way to offer a custom portrait at an affordable price.

Now's your chance to have a custom mini portrait of your favorite animal friend, be it a dog, cat, horse, reptile, bird or bunny.

ACEOs are a standard size: 2.5" x 3.5" - the size of a baseball trading card. ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Originals and Editions".

Giraffe - Original Ink Marker Drawing in 11x14 Mat - Ranlett A4C

I'd read about a technique of using ink markers and water to create quick study sketches. This is the result of that method. While not as detailed as some of my work, it's still a nice drawing of a graceful giraffe. For this study sketch, I used black and grey acid-free markers and water (to soften and blend some areas) on watercolor paper. I also added just a bit of white color pencil for highlights. For reference I used a photo that I took at the Sacramento Zoo.

This drawing is already matted to fit a standard 11x14 frame - frame not included.

Canada Goose - Original Ink Marker Drawing in 11x14 Mat - Ranlett A4C

I'd read about a technique of using ink markers and water to create quick study sketches. This is the result of that method. Mule, Equine - Original Watercolor Painting, Framed - Ranlett A4C

I titled this painting "Rusty" because I wanted to use various shades of orange for the mule. I used really thick "juicy" watercolor paint, so there are lots of swirls and watermarks on this piece.

This is a watercolor painting on Yupo, one of my "Paintings with Petzazz". When the painting was dry, I added just a bit of color pencil in a few places for enhancement.

Yupo is made of polypropylene, it's slick and bright white. The water/paint mixture isn't absorbed into the surface as with traditional watercolor paper - this results in vibrant colors and interesting swirls and watermarks that appear as the paint dries. Paint can also be lifted easily with a damp brush - wonderful for creating edges, the highlight in the eye, whiskers, etc.

My intent with these paintings is to interpret the subject, not to paint it exactly, although I do strive for accuracy of proportion. I choose a limited color palette and let the paint and paper do a lot of the work. After selecting the image, I'll often choose a title which is related to a color and then come up with the color scheme.

White Rose, Flower - Original Scratchboard ACEO - Ranlett A4C

This highly detailed drawing of a white rose is rendered with an X-acto knife on black scratchboard. The scratchboard is approximately the thickness of 65-lb card stock and consists of a paper base with a top coating of clay which has been coated with black ink. I use an X-acto knife to scratch detail into the surface. In a few places, I went back in with a technical pen to add black.

This piece took at least 3 hours to complete. Keep in mind, that the scratchboard started out ALL BLACK, and I carefully scratched away most of it, leaving black in just the right places to define the petals of the rose. Why, you ask, didn't I just draw black onto white? Well, it just wouldn't result in the unique etching effect that black scratchboard provides.

I have initialed the drawing on the front and signed it on the back. I've also included the title "White Rose" on the back as well as the copyright year. The drawing is enclosed in a clear plastic sleeve along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Spike - White Tailed Deer Buck - Original ACEO Framed - Watercolor and Color Pencil - Ranlett A4C

For this mini painting I used watercolor and Prismacolor color pencils. The surface is Multimedia Artboard, a stiff bright white paper about the thickness of 300 lb watercolor paper; it's archival and has a textured surface. The edges of the piece have been lightly scraped so a bit of the paper shows through. This ACEO is already framed. I used 2 mats (dark green and burgundy and a dark green frame) and it's framed to 8" x 10" - see the second photo.

This handsome young buck had stopped on our road just long enough for me to sneak out and snap a couple of photos. I titled the piece "Spike" because his antlers are just single spikes at his young age.

I often choose color schemes other than what you would expect - I render the subject accurately, but choose a different palette. In this case, instead of browns & tans, I decided to use shades of yellow, orange & even magenta for the buck.

This package of five cards features a reproduction of my pet portrait of a dog in a Halloween costume (a witch's hat, bandanna and mask). The original painting was created in watercolor on Yupo. All I did for the cards was to add "Happy Howl-oween" to the image.

The image shows the proportions of the art on the card. The copyright watermark does not appear on the card. My logo and contact information are on the back of the card.

These note cards are great for all occasions.
Cards are 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" (A-2 size), blank inside with matching white envelope (opened up, each card is half of an 8 1/2 x 11 page).

I print these cards on my Epson R1800 printer on Epson premium presentation paper (a bright white card stock - coated on the image side). The reproduction is high quality - the images are crisp, clear and bright.

Bunny Rabbit Earrings - Laminated Paper with Sterling Silver French Hooks - Ranlett A4C

These earrings feature a reproduction of my watercolor painting "What's Up Doc?" - a white bunny rabbit.

The paper portion of the earrings measures approx. 3/4" wide by 1" long. The earring hooks are sterling silver. The backs of the earrings are a matching color and I also sign the back of one. I hand craft each pair of these earrings from start to finish - print the image, laminate both sides, trim and attach the earring hook. The hooks may vary slightly from what's shown in the photo.

The colors of the earrings in the first photo are a bit dark. The actual colors are more like those in the second photo.

Jack Russell Terrier Puppy - Original Watercolor Painting, Framed - Ranlett A4C

"Julep" - Jack Russell Terrier Pup

The real pup's name is Jazmin. I decided to call her Julep when I chose minty green for her coloring. Actually, I have to give my husband credit for the name, he's the one that said "Mint Julep?". A friend of mine raises and shows Jack Russells, so she lets me know when she has pups and I head over there with my camera for a few hours of puppy fun!

This painting is already framed! See the second image for mat/frame proportions.

This is a watercolor painting on Yupo, one of my "Paintings with Petzazz". When the painting was dry, I added just a bit of color pencil in a few places for enhancement.

Yupo is made of polypropylene, it's slick and bright white. The water/paint mixture isn't absorbed into the surface as with traditional watercolor paper - this results in vibrant colors and interesting swirls and watermarks that appear as the paint dries. Paint can also be lifted easily with a damp brush - wonderful for creating edges, the highlight in the eye, whiskers, etc.

My intent with these paintings is to interpret the subject, not to paint it exactly, although I do strive for accuracy of proportion. I choose a limited color palette and let the paint and paper do a lot of the work. After selecting the image, I'll often choose a title which is related to a color and then come up with the color scheme.

"Hans" Moon Bear - Original ACEO
Graphite Pencil Drawing.

This is an original miniature drawing in pencil on paper (smooth bristol).

Hans was rescued by Animals Asia Foundation and lives in a sanctuary in Vietnam. Animals Asia (AAF, www.animalsasia.org) rescues moon bears from "bile farms" in China and Vietnam where they live in horrible, inhumane conditions. The reference photo I used to create this drawing was provided by AAF (see second image).

Monkey Earrings - Laminated Paper with Sterling Silver French Hooks - Ranlett - A4C

These earrings feature a reproduction of my drawing "Mangabey Boy" - a golden-bellied mangabey (an endangered African monkey). Now really, who doesn't need a pair of monkey earrings?!?

The paper portion of the earrings measures approx. 3/4" wide by 1" long. The earring hooks are sterling silver. The backs of the earrings are a matching color and I also sign the back of one. I hand craft each pair of these earrings from start to finish - print the image, laminate both sides, trim and attach the earring hook. The hooks may vary slightly from what's shown in the photo.
