This tiny button is a smidge bigger than a diminuative..it is 7/16" across. It is a gilded brass, enamelled in dark blue, antique flower button. The convex surface has a fancy border and the back sports a soldered loop shank. This tiny beauty could add a subtle little embellishment or be a sweet closure.

Vintage Buttons 6 MOTTLED PLASTICS from the 60's

These buttons came from some Saleman's Samples from the 60's. They are different sizes and colours of the same button.. a peculiar material that is plastic, resembling hard rubber, mottled in hue. 1 1/4" (red), 1 1/8" (dark blue, black), and 3/4" (dark blue, black). Each has a molded self shank, and are in new condition. Excellent closures for art ventures. Each is a half round, deep top with a flat bottom. Six buttons in all.

VINTAGE BUTTONS a dozen liddle hats

They aren't really liddle hats.. but that's what they remind me of..tiny straw hats, straight out of the "Music Man". In reality, there are a dozen (12) very small tan buttons, each 1/2" across, with another little round of plastic sitting on the middle of the round. They have a self shank, and are ready for the next project of imagination.

Here is a Mother-Daughter Vintage Plastic Button Set. Black Plastic with a self shank, the center is a molded design emulating a needlework or embroidery center. 125 Mother Of Pearl Buttons All Alike New Old Stock

You probably remember the drill. Here are pictures of 125 Antique real Mother of Pearl, 1/2", 2-hole sew thru Buttons. These are the stock pictures. You will receive a bag with at least 125 of the brand new, old stock MOP buttons from Muscatine, Iowa. These are all whites, with a border line cut into the edge of the button.

They were all cut alike, altho there is that wonderful variation in the shells, that shows up in the buttons. The little bumps and curves, the thins and the thicks, that make some of the buttons bump and curve, thin and thick, too. In this particular case, all these buttons came from the same factory box, all "alike", all old but never used. If you are doing a project where it would be nice for you to embellish with a large number of small buttons, alike, these are for you. When a bag sells, I will put up another, until they are all gone and the box is empty.

Antique RHINESTONE BUCKLE LARGE Dazzling Rectangle

Here is a very large and very sparkly Rectangle Buckle of Rhinestones. It is 2" X 2 3/4", set in a silver pot metal. This antique buckle has all its original stones and is in great shape relative to its age of 75-100 years. Can't you just imagine this buckle adorning the waist of a slinky, satin ball gown on an early Hollywood Starlet.. or perhaps on your own gown tomorrow???

Vintage Buttons 5 Black Textured Bear Paws

These buttons immediately reminded me of the Victorian metal buttons that look like Bear Paws that were popular in the early 1900's.

These are not Bear Paws, their shape and texture are just reminiscent of that style. These are plastics, probably out of the 60's, heavy black textured plastic with a self shank back. The largest is 1 1/16" (2 of these), the next are 7/8" (2 of these) and 1 at 3/4". they are heavy,strong buttons which will make good closures, or handsome embellishment. There are five buttons in this lot.

One sheet of old English diecuts. These rectangles may be called something else, I dunno. I bought these in a local bookstore and stationer in Maseru, Lesotho (southern Africa) during the late 70's. The school kids bought them..and I did, too. I thought they were rather cool. I have used many of them over the years, and I still have a stash of them to share.

These rectangular pictures each show a different kind of farming or agriculture. On the back, its crop name is printed in several languages. The sheet is 6 1/4" x9 1/2".

They look like stickers but there is no glue on the back.. you just cut them apart. That is all I know. Sweet, aren't they? For you paper people, there are a myriad of uses for these little beauties.

There are six individual circles in three different florals on each sheet. Iris, Crocus, and Lily are depicted. Each circle is about 2 3/4 inches in diameter. They look like stickers but there is no glue on the back.. you just cut them apart. That is all I know. Sweet, aren't they? For you paper people, there are a myriad of uses for these little beauties. I have some duplicates, so convo me if interested in more than one copy.

For your perusal, I give you a Fetching Glass Bead and Button Bracelet. Strings of small Cobalt Blue Beads draw your eye in. Then you will notice various Clear Glass Beads with bits of Cobalt and various colours in them. Three Sew Thru Vintage Glass Buttons, some dangles, and a hit of coral and voila! A great bracelet. The piece is on braided cord with a silver lobster clasp closure.

The bracelet is about 7 1/2 inches long. Flexible and comfortable. See pictures for details.

Here is a delicate pair of earrings, dangling from long, Sterling Silver wire. The WATERMELON TOURMALINE are a beautiful gemstone of pink, green and clear colours. The tourmaline is in the shape of a tiny bell, and is accented with pink Czech Vintage glass, and light Greens. The dangle hangs about 2" below the end of the Sterling Earwires.

They are lightweight and pretty, but don't take my word on it. Look closely. ZOOOOM in lets you see all the details.

A Cheerful, Little Maiden.. complete with a DAISY on her hat. She is made with Vintage and Modern Buttons and Beads, strung and knotted on rayon cording. The necklace cord itself is braided with more Vintage buttons embellishing it. She includes some collectible buttons of BAKELITE, and various polymers from the last few decades. Her head is a large glass bead. She is flexible and so her limbs move around. She is easy and fun to wear, and is about 5 inches in length. See photos for all the details.

I have been making BABES for some time. They have matured and become more refined over the years. I collected buttons and beads by colours and size and materials for many years. It was only then I was able to put together the right pieces to make a BABE. Each one is different and unique because of what they are made from. They are very durable and make good friends.

These remind me of three big pieces of chocolate ready to pop into your mouth...when actually, they are three (3) Large (1 1/4" x 3/4") Celluloid Rectangles with 2 hole sew thru. Flat back and three dimensional layered fronts. These very vintage buttons are likely from the 40's and are in great shape, especially relative to their age. These eight matching buttons look like real Victorian Black glass with Gold Lustered edges. Each button is a hair over 1/2". They are actually black and gold snap-aparts, but from the front you would not guess so. Here are ten white Bakelite or Catalin Buttons, in great shape (and yes, I realize they needed to be dusted off better before photographing, but I was over-tired). These are white buttons. The white is a light, creamy white colour.

The two larger buttons have a Deco design, 1 1/8" across, and 4-hole sew thrus. There are 8 of the smaller 3/4" whites, each with concentric circles on their face and a 2-hole sew thru. They are like new except for the dust.

Four (4) very nice Rhinestone Buttons in Vintage plastics.

..Two are a plain black plastic base button with a single Faux Diamond (Rhinestone) set into the middle. They are 3/4" and 5/8" across.

..The other two Rhinestone buttons are fancier. Buffed celluoid buttons with a single Faux Diamond (Rhinestone) set into their centers. One is a green stylised, carved flower design (3/4"). The other is a black and cream coloured, pierced, and very pretty (1/2").

All have self shanks and are in good shape.

Red CORAL EARRINGS with OSTRICH SHELL and Little Pearl Buttons

A wonderful pair of easy to wear dangle earrings. About two inches long, LIGHTWEIGHT, and very fun to sport on your next adventure.

They start with a silver wire filled with RED CORAL beads. The Ostrich Shell heishi came out of the Republic of South Africa, along with the little bone beads. The small mother of pearl buttons are the kind we see around us each day on our shirts and blouses. They move nicely, feel and look great on the earrings.

I began to use clothing buttons in my work in the 1980's. While collecting buttons for use in my art, I also began to learn more about their history and use over the last centuries. I have become an avid collector and have a deep love and respect for their special place in our lives. The Button Babes, as they have affectionatley become known, evolved from interest in early Crib toys made by women for their children out of the family button box. In an attempt to utilize the many varieties of buttons, my Babes are like Women in real life...they come in all sizes and shapes. Each has her own personality. No two are ever alike. Each celebrates being different, and is loved for being unique.

Here is a Beautiful Babe, ready to hang out with you! She is made from Vintage Applejuice BAKELITE buttons, some Vegetable Ivory buttons, and glass beads. She wears a lovely widebrimmed hat decorated just for the occasion. Her neck cord is long enough to be adjusted to your perfect length.

This Bakelite Babe is about 6" high. Her large sew thru skirt is a Bakelite button with a daisy flower carved into the surface. She is made with cording and knots, so she is very flexible. The buttons are not altered or harmed in any way. Some of the buttons I use are collectible, some more expensive or unusual than others. This can affect the price of a BABE.

Antique Buttons 4 Victorian Celluloids

These are the very, very old celuloids. From the days of Queen Victoria. They have a mottled red celluloid sheet held into the button with the brass edge bezel. They show their age, over 100 years, but are still four very handsome old buttons.Each button is 1/2" across, set in brass, with a metal self shank. Victoriana for your collage or wearable art works? Red for a bit of wonder. They would also be great in a jewelry piece with buttons.

Unusual and fun brooch (pin) made from the pristine stems of organic white garlic (see photos) wrapped and covered with papers. Embellished with a bead and dangle also made of paper.

The pretty little pin will look attract the Beautiful People, and make you feel well accessorized. At the same time, the garlic stems will perhaps keep the real "Vamps" away!

I couldn't help myself. I kept saving the beautiful white stems from the garlic. Organically grown in Idaho, it seemed a shame to just toss them. I saved them until I could figure out some things to do. Eventually, some brooches were born! After all, it is the decade of "Green".

Here are four buttons from the Haute Couture of the 70's. Large, 1 1/4" across, 1/4" deep, with a brushed, incised surface decoration that has been subtley washed with a luster. There are some gorgeous buttons in this lot of clear lucite plastic buttons. Faux Glass. Some are all clear, some have some faux pearl plastic in their makeup, some are carved, others pierced.. each of the 14 different buttons is unique. This Itty Bitty Babe is about 4" high. She is one of my smaller ones. The smaller are more difficult to do. It is much more challenging to find the appropriate buttons and beads in the smaller sizes. Her petite figure is endowed with Rhinestone embedded Silver Boobies. Her knees are pretty wire lattice silver beads. She is embellished with smokey Mother of Pearl Vintage Buttons. She's quite the little item!

Vintage Beads 24 RECYCLED GLASS BEADS Vintage Nigerian Craft

The pictures show you a pile of Vintage (from the early 60's) Glass Beads, made in Nigeria by local artisans. They figured out how to use the old beer and soda bottles and made beads. They sold them to the tourists by the strand. A dear friend was working there and bought these. She later gave them to me when they moved. I haven't used them all, so I am passing them along to you.

Each bead is different. Two colours. Each is about 3/4" long. They are fragile beads, probably because they had no way to anneal the glass. So they do chip and break. I have removed the broken ones. These are great for the collector, as an unusual find. They can be used but their fragility would have to be taken into consideration in your design. They are also just pretty to look at..and I love the idea of someone being resourceful enough to use their local garbage dump as their materials store.

There are two different styles of navy blue buttons..15 total. Nine of them are 1 1/8" inches across and are a plain, slightly cupped, plastic sew thru buttons in a smokey, pearly, navy blue. The other six are a tad smaller at 1" across. These are also slightly cupped and are a bit brighter navy blue. When you need some big, plainer, matching Navy Blue closures.. these will work great. Good for clothing and fabric projects.

Vintage Buttons 3 BLACK GLASS ...CURVES AND LUSTRES

Three very pretty yet very different black glass Vintage Buttons. One is very curved in its own shape. It is 7/8" long, and just under 3/4" across, with grooves from end to end, and a splatter gold luster surface trim. The larger round button is about 1" across with a surface trim design of silver luster enclosing a faux beaded area. The third, another round button, at 3/4", has a silver and gold luster trim dividing the surface into thirds. Each button has a glass self-shank and all are in great shape. They would make beautiful closures on a bag or purse, or an accent in a piece of jewelry. Lots of other ideas are probably in your own mind on how you could use them?

Here are 4 interesting little, not too little, 7/8" diagonal measure, brick red Vintage Buttons. They feel rather like wood, but are a vintage plastic of some sort. Each has a strong metal loop shank, carved sides, rounded top, with a bit of design in each corner. Antique Button One-Piece VICTORIAN PIERCED METAL DOME

This single button is fab.. it is a 1" domed brass, one-piece, with a long, soldered, loop shank. The pierced dome is about 3/8" high and it has a "shining star" engraved in the middle of the top surface. The design is broken into four sections, with little clouds at the bottom of each section. The rim of the button is like a bezel of brass. This is a lovely, lovely old button, from early in the twentieth century. It deserves a home on a wonderful garment or fabric piece. It is Yummy.. and Queen Victoria would be proud of it.

ANTIQUE BUTTON Victorian Carved Pearl with Star Escutcheon

These photos do not do this beautiful little button justice. It is perfect and lovely, 5/8" across with a carved faceted star in the surface of the smokey purple pearl button. Within the faceted surface there is a pretty little cut steel star escutcheon connected to the loop shank on the back. This Victorian button will make a gorgeous closure, part of a jewelry piece, or a nice embellishment for some other project. Trust me, it is gorgeous..my pictures aren't.

Here's a good stash of the old Leather Buttons..the kind your dad and grandpa had on their sports coats and dress coats. Cordovan brown, chocolate brown, dark tan, woven, stretched, sew thrus and leather shanks, loop shanks. These harken out of the 40's and 50's. They are sporting and handsome and will make super duper closures and embellishment on many an art wear (ware) project. Twenty-three (23) examples, some matching, some singles. All in good to new shape.

Vintage Button.. Bakelite with Lustered Black Glass.. One Large

This is a very striking Vintage/Antique Bakelite button. The Bakelite base button is 1 1/2" across, while the middle glass piece is 1 1/16" across with a raised stylised floral design that is lustered in silver.Metal Loop Shank.

Until I photographed it and looked closely, I did not notice that it has a chip out of the glass. It is very subtle to the eye when looking at it. Because of the colour it is not that noticeable. It is a beautiful button and still has lots of utility left in it.

This button would make a fantastic closure, and/or embellishment in someone's art work or art wear/ware.. Let your imagination find a place for this beautiful little treasure.

Antique Button.. Tiny Gold Plated Oval with Intricate Design

A beautiful little Gold Plated Oval, 3/8" x 1/2", with a soldered loop shank. The face of the button has a raised rim border. Inside are two little kite shaped raised pieces in the middle. There are tiny consecutive circles engraved around them to the edge. It is a lovely, tiny piece of Victoriana, dating back to the early 1900's or earlier. It very well could have been part of a cuff button set originally. Pretty, pretty. I have several of these if someone wanted more. Just let me know.

Here's a nice bunch of small to smallish, wooden buttons. Six (6) are dark brown, gently domed with self shank. Good shape. Another five (5) are medium brown, 1/2" round balls with a self shank..in good shape. Then there are two other round ball buttons a tad bigger. One is painted and has a little smidge of paint gone on the surface.. it could be touched up easily. The other has little brass brads embellishing its surface.

A Baker's Dozen (13) buttons of Wood .. ready to embellish or enclose.. Simple, nice, closures.

2 ALUMINUM STENCIL Antique Buttons

Aluminum Buttons came out of the 1930's. They were made for a short time, in only five designs and ten colours. they were intended to take the place of the china stencil buttons that broke easily in the mangles. However, these were painted and covered with a coat of lacquer, which also did not hold up well. So few of these are found in good condition.

These two are in quite good condition. The blue one is almost perfect. The black has some paint missing in the sew hole, but the rest of the button is in great shape.

They are wonderful little pieces of history, as well as a great addition to a fabric piece you may have to embellish. Fun buttons to use! The buttons look better in person than in the photos, because the pix show every minutia of any dings..but they really are nice.

Vintage Buttons..Lustered Glass in Honey Yellow with Floral Border

Here is a Mother-Daughter pair of glass buttons, round with a domed, transparent middle and a lustered floral border on each. Self shanks. 3/4" and 5/8" sizes. Each is a pretty transparent honey coloured glass. The raised floral border is touched with a metallic gold luster. Pretty Pair. Excellent trim or embellishment.. or use as a closure. These are likely out of the 50's and come from Germany or Czechloslavakia.

FIVE (5) Black and Blue Buttons.. 3 larger ones 1 1/8" across.. and two smaller..3/4". Each would make a handsome closure in Art Wear or Art Ware.

Two of the large black buttons are plastic with a silver dome center surrounded by a little silver rope border. Slightly concave with a nice rounded edge. The other large is black and blue together.. in a 40's domed plastic with a border of geometric shapes around a flatter edge.

One small black has a carved edge, a frosted black center with a pin shank escutcheon. The other is a dark blue plastic hexagon with beveled edges.

All are in good shape and ready for YOUR imagination and projects.

Antique Buttons.. Sweet Little Ivory Tan Vegetable Ivory Buttons

NINE (9) Tiny to Little, light tan or ivory tan (plus ONE RED)buttons made from vegetable ivory. These could be as old as Victorian.. they loved their glass and vegetable ivory buttons on their clothing.

4 of them are a little inkwell shape with a two hole sew thru. (5/8"). Carved round border.

One has little dimples in the mounded top.

Vintage Button.. A Copper and Silver Landscape

A handsome Vintage Metal Button.. made of copper, with half of it silver plated. The design is produced by a zig-zag line down the center, which can give the illusion of silver mountains and copper sky.. or vice versa. Or side by side it is rather like a broken egg shell.. my imagination and interpretation. What's yours?

1 1/8" across, with a soldered loop shank. Probably produced in the 1960's. It is strong and handsome button. Great for Art Wear or Art Wares.

Vintage Buttons.. Black Rhinestone or Jewel Domes ..3

THREE (3) Black Buttons with Black faceted faux gems or you might think of them as black rhinestones. Technically, I think they are not rhinestones unless they mimic clear faux diamonds. They are considered faux jewels..but they make me think of Rhinestones.

Two different styles. One button is a 1" heavy metal domed button with a long key shank, and the entire surface is covered with black faceted glass faux stones. All stones are there, but there is a bit of gentle wear to the black paint on the metal.

The other two buttons are also domed, a bit more shallow of a dome. These are plastic buttons with a molded surface that emulates a finely crocheted button. It also has many black faceted glass faux stones scattered on the surface..and all stones are there. These two buttons are quite elegant in their appearance. The 7/8" buttons have a plastic loop shank. They are in perfect, like new condition.

These could make a nice embellishment, or could be used as an interesting closure.

Antique Button..X LG Carved Pearl Button WOWSER

This Button is very large..Antique and Stunning. It is 1 1/2" across, 4-hole sew thru, Carved, White Pearl with brown and rainbow nacre. It is unusually pretty. The outer edge has a lovely domed, crosshatch carving for a border. There is a carved inner with tiny little circle indentations. There are carved rays that come out from the 4 sew thru holes. This is one very gorgeous button.

Even tho it is from early in the 1900's it is as pretty, and as strong as it was in those days. It will make a fabulous embellishment or closure in a fabric or wearable art project. Or treat it as a mini sculpture and just enjoy it.

I pulled out a few special little buttons. Little is the operative term.

This is a TINY button, 7/16", an antique carved shell out of the Victorian Era. Unusual, lovely, a fabulous little pearl of a button. The Button Border is formed by the dark brown upper layer; the inner button center is cut into the white layer; the purple layer is left in the very middle , with lovely nacre glow. It has an embedded brass loop shank.

This button would make a fantastic closure, and/or embellishment in someone's art work or art wear/ware.. Let your imagination find a place for this beautiful little Victorian treasure. It is exceptional.

Here's a group of nine buttons, each in a silver coloured metal. Some are pewter, some are faux silver sheet metal. The smallest buttons are 1/2" and the largest is 1 1/8". Different design on each button.. from a crest or crown, a four-leaf clover, hammered, sylised florals and whirlygigs. Even the button with the Bear and the crossed golf clubs.. can't recall what it represents.. but it is a funny button. A nice stash for your upcoming projects.

Here are ten (10) small (7/16"), brass, Victorian treasures. These little metal beauties, have drum sides (straight up) with a swervy linear lined texture. The center is round and filled with tiny little orbs that make it feel like the inside of a sunflower. The outside is bordered with tiny tiny leaves. The brass self shank backs are perfectly intact, and the buttons are in excellent shape for being over a hundred years old.

All ten are matching. They would make beautiful closures, or fabulous embellishment in art wear or art ware.

THREE (3)silver metal buttons, 7/8" across, with a fluted patterned edge and a flower blossom in the central face of the button. Self loop shank, and these are in great shape. Three pretty buttons for that special need..

Here is a set of FOUR (4) Green Fabric Buttons, 7/8" across, set in a metalized plastic bezel cup with a self shank. The pretty green fabric has a subtle textured stripe woven into it. The metalized plastic button base is a bit tarnished and could use a bit of a shine, but otherwise the buttons are in great condition.

Vintage Buttons.. Faux Tortoiseshell BAKELITE.. 3 Closures

Here are some Fabulous Closures. BAKELITE, Faux Tortoise Shell.

A very large, 1 3/4" across, handsome, Round Button. This one has a brass pin shank escustcheon shank. It is a flat button with a smooth, rounded edge and surface. Light dances thru the browns and golds in the transparent BAKELITE. It would be fab on an art wearable, shawl, bag, whatever.

The other two buttons are smaller.. 7/8" round, with a brass edge, which could use some spit and shine. The smallest is a thick square with a slightly rounded top and flat bottom. It checks in at 1/2" across diagonally, and has a metal loop shank.

Here's a Baker's Dozen (13) Rhinestone Buttons, single stones set in plastic. The largest is 1/2" while the smallest is 1/4".

Whoops.. there is ONE set in metal. They are mostly black, with some red and gold also. These little faux diamonds are in good shape with good clarity and self shanks. They were popular in the 40's and 50's, often on dressy blouses and shirtwaist dresses.

Antique Buttons..7 Small Composition Buttons ..Early 1900's

Here are SEVEN (7) Composition Buttons from early in the 1900's. FOUR (4) of them are matching flat topped rounds in a mossy green colour and self shank. The other three are singles with different designs molded into their faces.

Composition Buttons were made with a mixture of materials, and one of the materials was often rubber. They have that look..similar to the early rubber buttons..sometimes, a bit more snazzy.

VINTAGE BUTTONS..Fabulous Fakes..3 Wood.. Looking Like Sewn Leather...

I did a double take when I went to photograph these three buttons. I thought they were some old fancy, sewn leather buttons. But when I turned them over and looked at the shank, it was apparent that they were wood mimicking leather. And Mimicking it in great detail.

THREE (3) Wooden Buttons, 7/8" across, a domed top with the ribbing, texture and stitched edge of a leather button. Brown, and such a good faux job someone did on these buttons. Self shank with a hole drilled thru. In great shape..to look like they are old leather.. will you be fooled? Try 'em, you'll be delighted.

These would make a handsome closure as well as embellishment in your artwork today. Art Wear or Art Ware.. there is a place for them.

Aluminum Buttons are not so easy to come across and other materials. And sometimes they are not even recognized as Aluminum. You can tell by the shank and by their light weight.

These are silver coloured,each 3/4" across , and the design on the front seems to look to be a fancy calligraphy "S". The "S" has a textured background, clean not oxidized. If this design means something else, and you know more than I..please let me know and I can update the listing. These kinds of things are often mysteries to those of us studying our buttons.

Vintage Buttons.. 4 Small, Bright Yellow MoonGlows.. Glass

FOUR (4) matching, small 1/2", Bright Yellow Glass, Moonglows. Each has a linear border of gold luster and is in great shape. Self shank. While these are not backmarked, most of them originated in West Germany and/or Czechloslavakia, from the 40's and very popular in the 50's. Each is a little dome of yellow glass covered with a clear glass, which is why they are called moonglows.. they take on a luminescence from the clear covering. Great little buttons for embellishment, or for closures in art work and art wear. Do something fun with these little pretties.

VINTAGE BUTTON Charm BRACELET.. Vegetable Ivory, Copper and Brass Plus Embellishments

A Charm bracelet made from tiny Vintage and Antique Vegetable Ivory Buttons,as well as other special buttons for embellishment. The closure is a copper lobster claw and loop. The entire bracelet is made of doubled rings of copper, with other rings of brass and glass. It is 8 1/2 long so it can fit a large wrist. However, it is constructed so that you can use a different ring anywhere along the bracelet to get a different length. Therefore, it will fit from a 6.5 inch to an 8 inch very comfortably. An average bracelet is 7 to 7.5 inches.

The bracelet is heavily laden with 30+ small buttons, plus brass and black coloured rings. Most of the small buttons are tan and black vegetable ivory.. with a few cobalt blue glass and pearl, a glitter ball, and a rhinestone stud. Intense attention to detail. Here's a great looking fake. It is, perhaps, a faux cord button made out of silver plastic. Or is it a faux fossil snail or wormy shape? . Who knows? Whoever designed these big buttons in the 40's and 50's was probably mixing their alcohol and their work.

This is silver in colour. 1 1/2" across and 3/8" deep. It is an unusual and/or strange closure. On a bag, or other wearable art..or just a wearable.. this will be Noticed. Fun button. Molded self shank on back. Good detail on front.

Beautiful Victorian Black Glass Button, 3/4" across, with brass loop shank. The raised design consists of bars and faux steel cuts. There is a lot of Victoraian black glass around, but most is not this beautiful. Its design is classical and timesless. Incredible detail to such a small button.

It looks like it is made of metal, because of the silver luster.. but it is all black glass. Fantastic. It is in very good shape, especially relative to its age of a century or more. The button could make a gorgeous closure, and/or embellishment in someone's art work.
