The patterns created by the tie dyeing process truly seem to radiate Spiritual Light.

The spiral S/He is wearing is based on an uncurling fern leaf often used by Polynesian people to denote the unfolding of new life.

Inspired by Baubo - The Goddess of Laughter, the belly and sacred sexuality

Baubo is an ancient Grecian Goddess, one of many wild goddesses of sacred sexuality. Like so many other goddesses, she is also a goddess of life, death and fertility.

She is a Crone goddess with irreverant joy and liberation towards sexuality, she reminds us to relish sex, love and above all laughter. When Demeter was pining for Persephone and witholding fertility from the world, Baubo danced and performed merrily for the Great Mother, inducing Her to forget her anger long enough to take some nourishment to continue Her search.

My design is based on Clarissa Pinkola Este's version in "Women Who Run With the Wolves"

I felt drawn to make this goddess into wearable art as a way to reconnect with our power centres - our wombs - as a way to honour the women we are, and perhaps heal any sexual wounds we may have.

This original cloth doll features wide juicy hips and breasts - including beads for nipples - with a needle sculptured yoni and belly button.

Baubo contains a carnelian crystal to further enhance her connection to our sacred source of power
