Doggy Bank

This sweet little doggy bank was inspired by my granddog, Stoli, a labrador retriever. Stoli doesn't think he's a dog, he's sure he's a person.

This bank started on a potter's wheel. His features, tail, and paws were added afterwards. The glaze used is a beautiful soft buttery yellow gold. There is a slot on his back to put the money in and a cork on the bottom for removing your savings. He sits approximately 5 3/4 inches tall and is approximately 3 inches across the base.

The last picture is a group of piggy banks and two different doggy banks going through the drying process. This little bank is the brown dog at the back of the group.

Cowboy Piggy Bank

This cute little piggy bank was thrown by me on my wheel and then its ears, feet, tail, and cowboy hat were added by hand. This glaze is a gorgeous glaze called Seaspray.

This Piggy measures approximately 6 inches from tail to nose and stands approximately 5 1/2 inches tall from his toes to the tips of his ears.

Money goes in through a slot in his back ...and you won't have to "break the bank" to retrieve your savings. The cork comes out of his nose at your convenience. This little piggy would make a wonderful gift for a child..... or even an adult.

The last picture shows a whole herd of piggies (and a couple of cute little dog banks) drying and waiting to go into the kiln.

Leafy Windspinner - Jewelry For Your Trees

These windspinners are a collaboration between myself and a friend who makes jewelry. We like to call them Jewelry For Your Trees. Actually they can be hung from branches in a tree, your deck, your porch, or even from a window inside your house. I'm sure there are other great places they can be hung also.

These are so difficult to take pictures of in the trees. They tend to get lost in the picture but look just lovely when you see them in person. The jewels catch the sun as they sway in the wind.

The stoneware portions are created by me and are hand cut and shaped. They are then and fired 2-3 times in the kiln during the process. All of my windspinner pieces have a different glaze color on each side. They are created with heavy copper wire which will develop a love patina with time.

This particular spinner measures approximately 23 1/2 inches from the copper hook to the sparkling gold colored gem at the end. The sparkly gems are gold and a lovely deep purple in color.

Fairy Door - Natural Bark Finish

The Fairy Door phenomenon seems like a new fashion, but the folks in Northern Europe have been allowing the little folk into their homes for centuries. They bring love, laughter and good luck to all who welcome them.

What is a Fairy Door? Fairy Doors are magical entrances for fairies and other wee folk, you will spot them in a wide variety of places, from homes to businesses. These Fairy Doors can be installed indoors or out and provide a portal to comfort and security for the Wee Ones around your home or apartment.

Simply lean them against a tree or rock, place them on a bookshelf, hang them on a wall or set them against a baseboard and – Voila! – you have an instant Wee home. But you can be sure that wherever you place your Fairy Door, a little Fairy magic will escape through and into your home. Fairies are very protective creatures, and it is said that no nightmare or frightening thing dare enter a room that contains a Fairy Door.

All of my Fairy Doors are hand cut and no two doors will be the same. When I roll out my clay, I let the shape of the clay dictate the shape of the door and they all have different shaped windows cut into the door. The clay for this particular Fairy Door was rolled against a tree trunk in my back yard. The window cut into the door is cut in the shape of a half moon. The bark finish is created by using multiple underglazes to achieve that natural effect. The door measures approximately 4 1/4 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall. The separate window is approximately 2 1/2 wide by 3 inches tall and may be slightly different from the one shown in the picture.

Bottle Dispenser

This gorgeous bottle was thrown on my wheel and the decoration was hand carved. The beautiful shino glaze shows all the carving to perfection.

You will have a choice of purchasing this bottle with a spout (for pouring oil, vinegar, or even thinned down dishwashing soap), a pump (for liquid soap, hand cream, etc.), or a cork top. Please just include a note when purchasing this bottle to let me know your preference.

The bottle is 8" tall (not counting the spout or pump), 4" across, and holds about 1 cup.

Dishwasher and microwave safe.

Earring Bowl - Chun Blue Glaze

Here is another earring bowl. This glaze was a happy accident. I layered Mint Coffee over White Satin Matte and got this lovely, delicate aqua glaze. The ivory and white exterior of this bowl is unglazed stoneware with a three-dimensional porcelain bumpy finish.

Earrings can be hung two to a hole or one in each hole depending on how many pairs of earrings you possess. There are 32 holes in this bowl to accommodate a lot of earrings. This bowl measures 4 inches tall and has a 5 1/2 inch diameter at the top.

This earring bowl will look lovely on your vanity or in your bathroom. Of course, the bottom of the bowl is perfect for holding rings, your watch, necklaces, or anything else you want to drop in it.

(The earrings pictured do not come with the bowl.)

Absorbent Coasters - Set of 4 - Monet's Garden

While working, I would sip ice water from one of my favorite big mugs all day long. I used to use a paper towel folded under my mug to keep a puddle from forming on my desk. Not a good solution to problem and not very nice looking either.

These coasters are my solution to that problem and they work so well!!! No puddles to damage furniture or get papers wet. No coaster sticking to the glass to drop off just as you lift the glass to your lips to take a drink.
The textured, unglazed side of the coaster is for cold drinks and will absorb all condensation that runs down your glass. You won't see a drop of water on the coaster. The glazed side is good for hot drinks so you don't get coffee or tea rings on your furniture.

The glaze on these coasters is a beautiful crystalline glaze called Monet's Garden. This particular glaze has shades of emerald green, royal blue, and white. The coasters measure approximately 4 inches in diameter. The textured side is unfinished white clay with a gorgeous floral texture. All of my coasters are cut and textured by hand and are fired at least twice in my kiln.

These coasters would also make wonderful trays to go under round candles.

These coasters would also make wonderful trays to go under round candles.

This matte glaze is similar to weathered copper with lovely, lovely shades ranging from clear aqua to grayish green in the letters and texture. The pendant measures approximately 1 1/4 inches wide by 1 1/4 inch high. The pendant is finished off with a heavy weight black satin cord and measures approximately 17 1/2 inches from end to end.

This particular Fairy Door is a little larger than most of the ones I make and was textured against a live tree in my backyard. It is stained with an an assortment of underglazes to make it look "barky." The door measures approximately 8 1/4 inches tall by 4 1/4 inches wide. The window is approximately 2 1/2 wide by 3 1/2 inches tall

I love, love, love this saying! This little tile measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches high and is sized just right for your favorite artist's christmas stocking. It comes complete with a jute cord for ease in hanging. A tiny chartreuse butterfly completes the tile.

All of my plaques are hand cut and stamped by me. They are then fired in a kiln to about 2230 degrees.

This textured wall pocket can hang on the wall or can be attached to your refrigerator or file cabinet via a super strong Neodymium magnet on the back.

This wall vase is water tight and, of course, great for holding flowers but can also be used to hold pens, pencils, scissors, toothbrushes, etc.

This textured vase measures approximately 5 1/2" long x 2" wide and is glazed in a lovely periwinkle blue color which really shows the texture nicely.
