An exquisite glass scarab hugged by brass filigree is mysterious and timeless. Intensely pink and purple, it's feminine and alluring and will mesmerize, you'll see.

Here’s an alternative to my best-selling peacock scarab necklace – a new color in blue/pink/purple vitrail! I love the mysterious feeling that accompanies this fascinating and reflective jewel.

Glass scarab (measuring about an inch all around) is securely wrapped in brass filigree. The chain - two rows of raw golden brass - a combination of cable and bar chain - is both delicate and pretty. Center back neck brass lobster clasp closure.

The surface of the scarab shows some texture that is normal for this kind of bead and the lines happen during firing. I love the organic look of the surface - it looks iridescent like a real beetle!

Length: a generous 32 inches - perfect for the lady who likes to play with her jewelry. I show this at a shorter length (18 inches) but it can be customized to any length shorter than 32 inches, though I do love the full length (fan of long necklaces here).

Brass door knockers have been given the green patina treatment, then were buffed with fine steel wool to give an uneven texture. It’s as if they’ve been out in all weather and pried off their respective doors just to grace your ears. You can actually move the lever!

They hang on oxidized hammered copper ear wires and copper jump rings. Length is just under two inches from top to bottom.

Each pair of earrings comes out differently after their individual treatment. Your will resemble the pair in the photo, but will not be an exact match.

A vintage Benrus watch face has been wired to a steel washer and is accented by a gleaming wee vintage sew-on bead, ¼ inches wide at most. A tarnished brass mesh fob piece and oxidized pewter heart lock complete the hanging trio. The heart is on the back - it will be a secret between the two of you. The brass chain has been oxidized and sports more tiny red beads – round and square, and they’re connected by annealed iron wire for more dark texture. It’s comfortable and lightweight, sexy and tough, and can be worn year-round.

Chalcedony and Sterling Silver Bracelet

Six translucent nuggets of pillow-cut chalcedony beads beguile with their subtle color. Aqua? Celery? Mint Green? Celadon? They’re milky and serene and look gorgeous in the light. One bead has a tiny chip in the corner – I’m not sure why it was left that way, but I included it as it’s a luscious fat bead and shouldn’t detract from the prettiness of the bracelet overall. Stepping Stones Aqua Chalcedony, Jade, Amazonite and Crystal Necklace

This was inspired by the luminously beautiful pillow-cut chalcedony rectangles in palest aqua and hints of mint and celery – the color is hard to nail down as it changes in the light. The beads are fat, milky and translucent, and blend harmoniously with smooth pale blue amazonite pebbles, carved jade and glowing watery crystal beads in blue and green. The jade comb and carved oval are beads that I have hoarded for a few years that seemed to belong here; the beads are securely wire-wrapped together so that the necklace will not break. Handmade hammered brass rings are beautiful warm golden color that adds warmth and interest, and at the center back neck I placed a chalcedony bead that is hugged by vintage brass filigree bead caps.

There is a flaw on the surface of one of the chalcedony rectangles, and I debated whether or not to use it, but as it was important to the composition, I included it as it's a beautiful bead otherwise. You can turn the bead around to hide the ding or reverse how you wear the necklace to hide it, but I don't think it's readable unless one is peering closely at the bead. If you look at the last two pictures, I have marked it with a red circle.

This beauty measures 24 inches and goes over the head easily, so it doesn’t require a clasp.

It’s good to have a little calming talisman on hand. Brightly, colorful bamboo domino tiles are decorated with famous Keep Calm and Carry On text. I added some wonderful matte glass beads in harmonious colors...the stripes and whorls are so vibrant and cheerful and I think complement the tiles wonderfully.

These images were applied to both sides of a bamboo domino tile that measures 1.25” by almost 2 inches. I printed the images on quality paper with my lovely printer, sealed and glossed them with a resin-like glaze for protection against the elements. The full length w/o the clasp is 3.25 inches.

They hang from a gold-toned swivel clasp and will clip on to thinner handbag hardware, necklace chain/cord, or key ring.

I have done my best to edit these pictures so that the colors are accurate. All monitors see colors differently, and the pinks, oranges and reds are hard to capture accurately. There are subtle differences between the salmon, orange and pink tiles.

Lovingly detailed vintage rare two-hole coral butterfly beads still glow in this sweet sterling silver necklace. Some of the rhinestones that once adorned their tiny bodies remain, and others have been lost to time. The butterfly beads are small (roughly ½ X ½”) and lightweight; I am not 100 percent sure if they are glass or plastic, but they are very vintage and incredibly sweet, and would make a great sweet sixteen gift for a young lady who loves butterflies.

They’re hung in a ladder design and have a glass pearl shank button dangling for extra vintage sweetness. The delicate chain is sterling silver and it closes with a pretty hook clasp. Another vintage glass pearl button hangs from the back neck.

Marie Lloyd Altered Art Music Hall and Theatre Lovers Tile

Miss Marie Lloyd was Queen of the English Music Hall at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries. A common girl of uncommon talent, her specialty was the double-entendre in song, such as in “A Little Of What You Fancy Does You Good.”

On one side is an early photo of a rather wistful Marie with lovely long hair, in a pretty, late 1880s gown. On the other is a sheet music cover of the song, “Keep Off The Grass”.

The mahogany-colored tile bamboo tile measures 1.25” by almost 2 inches – the larger size that these tiles come in. I printed the images on quality paper with my lovely printer, sealed and glossed them for protection against the elements. The full length of this piece is 5.5 inches.

Elements used in this charm include a red glass rose, a vintage glass pearl button, resin dice, brass charms with a G-clef, musical notes and a vintage style heart locket that will open to take a tiny picture, dangling off an oxidized brass chain.

A brass and copper embossed tea cup filled with a tiny antique cream linen button. The cup sits on another antique button – a lovely mother of pearl. It’s epoxied and will stay put – no worries about it coming off with normal use. Please don’t get this piece of jewelry wet, though.

Your large button may vary slightly from the one pictured, as my natural pearl buttons in this size are all vintage and one of a kind.

Here’s an addition to my best-selling peacock scarab necklace range – a new color in deep cobalt! I love the spiritual feeling that accompanies this powerful color. The surface does not have the reflective coating that the other two colors in my shop feature and is perfect for lovers of deep blue who want a piece of serene and simple scarab jewelry. Witchy, gothic brass clock hands earrings feature chain and red and black Czech glass beads. They’re long and dangly and oh so Dark and Dangerous.

Brass hands are black on one side, shiny black on the other. Both are medieval in feel, and look like elegant gothic spikes that could do real damage. They won’t, but we’re the only ones who know. As they’re different lengths, I added a delicate copper-plated steel chain and iridescent black glass cathedral bead to the shorter one to balance both. Blood-red vintage bohemian Czech glass beads with veins of hematite add a hit of intense color. The earwires are brass, as are the rest of the findings. Clear rubber ear nuts are included so that you don’t lose these beauties.

Length: The longer clock hand is a bit under 3 inches long, and the total length is just under 4 inches.

Unusual Czech glass red, cobalt and sky blue etched with gold numbers clock face earrings on lovely brass handmade ear wires.

Rectangular opaque glass two-hole beads are frozen at ten past six. I decorated the wires with sparkly wee seed beads in corresponding colors so that the back of the bead is pleasing to the eye. They’re wire-wrapped and solid, and available in three colors – sky blue, a dark cobalt blue (that reads a little blacker in real life than in the photos), and tomato red. Please specify your color choice at checkout.

The beads measure 20 X 17 mm, or roughly 0.75 X 0.75 inch. They hang on brass handmade ear wires that are an inch long, and the length of the earrings is just under 2 inches.

Luminous and mysterious, a multi-chain, opulent Bohemian Czech glass bead necklace in hues of ice blue and white is a OOAK extravaganza of decadence.

It all started with two beads: a faceted briolette in opal glass, on which I wrapped icy blue glass chip beads for a sparkly little hat, and a huge periwinkle blue molded glass oval focal bead. The “tassel” hangs from the rest of the necklace as an attention-getter, enhanced by interesting, organic-looking blue glass beads with tiny gold dots that have an crustacean feel. I’ve used vintage baby blue striated rounds and smoky iridescent peacock glass “pearls”, labradorite, special Victorian “sequins” in pearly iridescent glass that look like moonstones, Egyptian Revival gold-etched oval beads in light blue and opal glass and modern opal glass round beads, hugged by brass and copper bead caps. Warm copper-plated steel chain contrasts well with all of that coolness, and the wire employed is annealed iron, which is very strong.

There are three rows of beaded opulence and the closure is a bright copper toggle, though the necklace is long enough to go over your head without opening it. I think there’s a 1920’s feel to this necklace, very flapper-like, like Daisy Buchanan. I think that you’ll enjoy examining and playing with the many lovely beads, and everyone who looks at it will feel a huge urge to touch it as well.

Length: the longest row measures 37".
The dangly section is 9.5".

Illuminate Me Medieval Altered Art Domino Bracelet

A red bamboo domino tile is covered with a section of a beautiful illumination of the Neville Family at Prayer, from The Neville Book of Hours, 1430-35. The Illuminator (artist) is The Master of the Munich Golden Legend. I have printed out sections and glued them to both sides of a brilliant red 1.75 X almost 7/8 inch tile and sealed it for maximum protection.

It’s glossed but not impervious to water – I recommend removing it when washing your hands.

Two rows of oxidized brass cable chain converge and are joined by new and vintage red Czech glass beads. The bracelet closes with an oxidized brass lobster claw clasp. Wire is oxidized brass.

Length: 8 inches to allow for the size of the domino. It fits my 6.25 inch wrist perfectly and is a very comfortable piece of wearable art. Perfect for a student or lover of art history or the Medieval era.

Beer bottle caps and colorful chandelier crystals as a necklace? Surprisingly, it works. Imagine wearing this at karaoke night, or even at the Oscars? It works with jeans and with designer duds.

11 recycled used beer caps were soaked and washed thoroughly before using. I chose colorful and graphically pleasing caps for the full spectrum of beers experience, and added nearly all of my prized teardrop chandelier crystals for the ultimate in glassy goodness. Smaller octagonal crystals in bright colors perk the proceedings up considerably. Oxidized brass jump rings and other hardware keep things together, and the two rows of copper-plated steel chain lends more rich color. It closes with a bright copper toggle – big and easy to find at the back of your neck.

Weight: 4.5 ounces.
Noise factor: It jangles, so it might not be the right choice for a night at the opera.
The necklace chain measures a hair over 20 inches.
Hanging length: 7.25 inches at center front.
The red crystal is 2 inches/51mm long.

The glass turquoise nuggets look like dyed chalcedony, don’t they? Smooth, fat red ovals have sweet little bead caps on each one, as do luscious black faceted jet rounds (different ones on those, for variety). If you're a fan of Victorian/Edwardian chatelaines, you'll love this homage necklace perfect for fans of Gothic, Steampunk and Neo-Victorian fashion.

A Chatelaine was a decorative yet practical hanging assemblage of items necessary for a lady in an era of no pockets and tiny handbags. Her scissors, a tiny pencil, keys - each suspended by chains, rattling musically as she went about her business, hanging from a belt at her waist.

Today we have no need for anything so quaint, but I love the look of them and made one that I hope evokes that period costume accessory and substituted lightweight shiny danglies in place of useful tools.

A lovely bejeweled vintage bar pin that once had a broken clasp is given new life as the mainstay of this evocative piece. Brass charms, dyed freshwater pearls, a gold aurum glass bead and a coppery oval locket are suspended from this ornate pink-gold-plated bar.

The locket actually opens – you can keep a picture or tiny memento inside. The clear window in the locket is not glass, so it's very lightweight yet sturdy.

The pin back has been removed and sanded smooth and a pretty, delicate 23” copper-colored brass chain closes with a copper lobster clasp. The pendant section measures an additional 4” long.

Arsenic and Old Lace Antique Celluloid Hat Feather Necklace

A shiny black vintage celluloid hat feather that would have once adorned a fabulous chapeau is now a necklace on gunmetal chain. This spectacular paisley feather trimming in celluloid was purchased a generation ago from a trimming store that has been around for over 60 years, that still stocks early and mid 20th century trimmings. They were made in France, where some of the most special embellishments for the millinery business originated.

Celluloid was one of the first plastics to be widely used and was originally developed in England in the 1850s. It was a very popular material for jewelry in the 1890s and 1920-1930s.

This example is a shiny flat black celluloid cutout, beautiful in its design. It's flexible, and for durability I have put two together and attached them to a lightweight gunmetal chain with a silver plated pretty toggle clasp. The necklace measures 20 inches, chain and pendant span included.

Size of paisley piece: 4.5 inches long by just under 2 inches wide.

This trimming is sturdy but also brittle, and requires gentle handling. As it is antique, the surface shows some age, but it is in remarkable shape. It should be stored away from anything that can scratch it or cause it to break. It can be damaged by moisture, temperature extremes, or chemicals.

Detailed golden brass leaf stamping is lightly oxidized, polished, and adorned with a single white freshwater pearl on a gold-plated chain. Simple and elegant, and perfect for a bride.

Length: the chain is almost 18 inches, and the leaf measures 0.75 inch by 2 inches. The pearl is irregular and measures 9 mm. The side that sits against the leaf is slightly flattened. Red, white and multi unusual irregular oval glass beads remind me of 1950s Italy, and make for a wonderful one of a kind necklace for lovers of interesting glass beads. The dimensional lozenges are contemporary, but the smaller variegated glass beads are vintage, purchased in London in the late 1980s. I’ve wire-wrapped the beads together using annealed iron wire (strong) and added rustic hammered copper rings and a brass lobster clasp as a closure.

Unusual, collectible and OOAK history collage necklace made from vintage medals, glass beads, and a lot of religion and politics.

I have paired two vintage enameled medals: one is The USA Minute Women, Crusaders against Communism, and the other is a multi-tiered religious medal for A Christian Reformed Sixth Year Achievement.

Online research reveals that the stunningly detailed “Reformed” medal was made by Little’s Crown and Cross System, a maker of school and religious medals in NY.

According to Wikipedia:

“The Minute Women of the U.S.A. was one of the largest of a number of militant anti-communist women's groups that were active during the 1950s and early 1960s. Such groups, which organized American suburban housewives into anti-communist study groups, political activism and letter-writing campaigns, were a bedrock of support for McCarthyism.

The primary concerns of the Minute Women and other similar groups were the exposure of communist subversion, the defence of constitutional limits, opposition to atheism, socialism and social welfare provisions such as the New Deal; and rejection of internationalism, particularly in the form of the United Nations. They campaigned to expose supposedly Communist individuals, focusing particularly on school and university administrators."

The mystery of the garden is celebrated in this layered necklace composed of assorted brass stampings, dyed freshwater pearls, and czech glass beads. Cicada in verdigris is the focal element of this OOAK piece.

Stampings include an Art Nouveau lady wearing a wide-brimmed hat trimmed with flowers, ornate Victorian-style brass pieces, and a fantastically detailed cicada. I gave some of the components a healthy patina of green and then polished them carefully with steel wool to bring out the golden highlights, and sealed them. Brass chain, dyed teal freshwater pearls, faceted watery blue, topaz and teal Czech glass beads, and deep bronze-toned brass bead caps add to the vintage-inspired feeling. It’s a OOAK piece of wearable art, gently asymmetrical, and sure to invite comments and thinly-disguised envy.

The green focal piece is a hair over 2.5” X 1” and the cicada measures just under 2 inches long. The outer necklace length is 25 inches, the pearl inner necklace is 20 inches, and the full length to the bottom of the cicada is 30 inches. Hardware is a mix of brass and copper. I was looking through my fall leaves bead stash this week and noticed that I had just enough to make one last bracelet before re-ordering for the fall. I love Fall; like a lot of others’ preferences, it’s my favorite season as well, and the colors of these glass leaves are so rich and warm.

It’s a simpler and less expensive version of an ornate Autumn Leaves bracelet that I made last year that was studded with pearls as well as glass leaves. I love the simplicity of this bracelet and the fact that it’s lightweight yet packs a colorful, leafy, textural punch.

The largest leaves measure 18 X 22 mm, or 7/8 of an inch long. Handmade copper head pins in rose and eggplant alternate, depending on the color of the leaves, and annealed iron wire is also used. Brass has been oxidized.

The bracelet measures a hair under 7.5 inches and closes with a large brass lobster claw clasp.

Fall colors, molded glass leaf beads, freshwater pearls, glass beads, copper-plated brass chain. Autumn reigns in this woodland necklace.

The focal bead in this necklace is a huge vintage molded glass flattened oval, 20 X 30 mm in a gorgeous jade green. In inches, it’s almost an inch and a quarter by 7/8 of an inch wide, framed by sweet antiqued brass bead caps.

I have assembled some wonderful leaf beads and have had a lovely time assembling this salute to this glorious time of year. All beads have been securely wrapped with copper wire:

It closes with a stunning matching hammered copper S-clasp and the chain has been given a coating of lacquer to help maintain its beautiful color. All findings are copper-toned or have an antiqued brass patina.

Warm shiny copper plated dimensional brass leaf necklace, deep jewel tone freshwater pearls, brass chain and handmade copper clasp.

The focal leaf of this pendant is wonderfully coppery brass stamping, 1.5” long, which hangs from a heavily detailed rectangular filigree frame. Other components include freshwater pearls in smoky gray-blue, teal, fresh green and burgundy, copper plated steel chain, a handmade antiqued copper hook and eye, antiqued brass wire and rosy copper and eggplant headpins.

The leaf and the rectangle have been given a light coat of lacquer to keep their wonderful patina. It's a pretty and feminine necklace, very lightweight; 24” long with the entire pendant section measuring almost 4”.

Verdigris Brass Butterfly, Green Patina, dyed peacock teal freshwater potato pearls, turquoise chandelier crystal, locket, brass clasp.

20 dyed peacock freshwater potato pearls, in an ombre from darkest to palest, grace this sweet bracelet for anyone who loves butterflies. The bug is a sturdy brass that has been given a patina of verdigris, then buffed with fine steel wool to bring out the delicate veins in the wings. A turquoise chandelier crystal and oval locket charm that has also been given a slight green patina, (that really opens, and will accept a tiny picture) finish off this pretty bauble.

The butterfly is green on one side only. The back side has been left its beautiful coppery brass color, for contrast. The back is flat with a slight cross hatch texture.

The closure is an oxidized brass lobster clasp. Annealed iron and brass wire hold everything together.

The pearls are strung on 22 gauge brass wire which can easily be curved to fit your wrist. Length: 7 inches, which fits my 6.25 inch wrist perfectly. Need more length? Let me know your wrist size and I will add an extender.

What I really like about this bracelet is that the butterfly will stay put on the front of your wrist – it won’t slide around easily.
