TIME MACHINE LANDS ON BRONZE AGE - BeadWoven Peyote Necklace

This necklace was created for the Etsy BeadWeavers monthly challenge. Aprils' theme is TIME MACHINE.

This Time Machine takes us to the Bronze Age, the beginning of human recorded history and the first Phraos.
The bronze colors mimic royal amulets and the grace of this piece reflects the growing importance and refinement of the arts at this period.

No surprise I would choose a bronze pallet of colors. The inspiration for this time period are the three focal center beads. These glass beads were whispering, "Bronze Age, Bronze Age."
These beads are glass, clear with bronze/copper edging. They are rectangular but round on the short edges.
They have an interior circle of the same coloring.

I found myself trying to incorporate many of these focal beads.
Seems I was taking apart the piece more than I was putting it together. After trial and error, the final result was, elegance is measured not in quantity but quality.

This necklace measures roughly 19" from end to end.
The piece is beadwoven with seed beads in several sizes, firepolished beads, and delicas.
Metallic dark bronze, metallic bronze, topaz gold luster, matte metallic dark bronze, sparkling light bronze lined crystal and brown iris unite to create this one of a kind ensemble.
The clasp on this necklace is a bronze/copper colored snap closure. Easy to put on and easy to take off.
This necklace has a wonderful variety of interest and texture.

The soft green cardstock is embossed with flowers and adhered to the blush blossom. It serves as the backdrop.
Stamped and layered is bunny with the sentiment "ears wishing you a happy day".
The bunny has glitter on its' ears.
This piece has rounded corners and is adhered with foam tape for dimension.
The card is finished off with a soft green bow.
This is a well made card, with fine details.

Where's Waldo - Oops... I Mean Where's Lizard - Beadwoven Peyote Bracelet

This bracelet is my entry for Etsy BeadWeavers June challenge theme, "Humor".

Lizard lives in my backyard, on my porch and around the Shop.
I'll be out back, in these areas, and quick as can be, I'll see something dash away. I'll be startled for a minute and then comes the chuckle..... Lizard.
Lizard is such a scaredy-cat and spooks so easily. Lizard quickly scatters away. Mostly the chuckle comes, when I see lizard quickly move up the wall.
I think, oh yeah, that's a good place to hide, like I can't see you.
Then I chuckle and realize lizard is much smarter than I think. Lizard knows I'm not good at climbing walls.

I choose natural surrounding colors from my back porch, for my color palette on this bracelet. I did that with the intention of Lizard blending in.

This bracelet is 71/4" from end to end.
The bracelet is done is peyote stitch.
Delicas in matte metallic copper plated, dyed matte opaque chesnut, bronze, copper plated copper and shimmering crystal/light peridot blend together to hide lizard.
The bracelet has crimp bars and a snap closure.
This makes for a well finished look.
This closure is easy to put on and easy to remove.
Lizard is about 1 1/2" long and 5/8" wide.
This is a one in a kind bracelet, done in peyote stitch.

The design pattern is from Juanita Carlos.
I have permission from Juanita to make this bracelet for
resale.

CRYSTAL LEI - BEADWOVEN SPIRAL ROPE NECKLACE

This necklace was beadwoven with the intent of the "Vine Nugget" bead as the focal.
The necklace measures 19 1/2" from end to end.
The spiral rope was beadwoven with size 11 seed beads in turquoise and carmel.
The clasp on the necklace is a sterling silver small size S hook.

The focal bead is carmel blue, a free formed nugget, 15mm x 20mm, mandrel size 2.75.

The rope is heavily embellished with over 60 4mm swarvoski crystals in olivine. Embellishments of seed beads and crystals trail along the spiral rope like a vine.
The focal bead has a touch of olivine color and the crystals give the necklace sparkle and jazz.

My trip to Punta Cana, two years ago, over Valentines Day, was the inspiration for the lei.
So, here's to Punta Cana in my mind.

This is a soft, delicate, beadwoven piece, one of a kind.

Cardstock colors are blue-grey, orange, brown and white.
The blue-grey cardstock serves as a backdrop. It is embossed with circles. It is adhered to the orange cardstock.
Stamped and layered is giraffe. Sentiment reads "reach for the stars". This is set on foam tape for dimension.
The top right corner is turned over with a star brad.
Word window strips are placed on the top and bottom for added embellishing. They are adhered with brads.
This is a well made card with fine details.

I just love this color combination. I'm afraid the pictures don't do justice to the bracelet.
Chic and sassy, this is one sparkly, fun and whimsical bracelet.

The bracelet measures 7 1/4" from end to end.
It is 1" wide.
The bracelet is beadwoven in a brickstitch and herringbone
pattern.
The beads are triangles in champagne color and vanilla color.
There is an embellishment done in seed beads of the same colors.
The clasp is a Swarvoski crystal champage/gold colored button on one end, and a peyote strap on the other.

BEATNIK SQUARES - Colorful Crazy Log Squares Quilt Wallhanging

This quilt wallhanging measures 20" x 20".
The pattern is crazy log-cabin. Instead of traditionally using one half one color and the other half another color, I continued each round in the same fabric. Thus, creating crazy log squares.
There are a delight of colors throughout the quilt. The sashing and border fabric reminds me of a bunch of paint cans with their lids off.
The back fabric is a colage of seed packets, flowers and vegetables.
The binding fabric is the same as the background and sashing fabric.
All fabric is 100% cotton.
The wallhanging is machine pieced and hand quilted.

This is such a soft delicate bracelet.
It measures 7 1/4".
The bracelet is made with rectangular grey-dove colored glass beads, sterling silver endcaps, glass pearls and swarovski crystals.
On each side of the glass beads, sits a delicate endcap.
Between each endcap is a 3mm beige glass pearl and a 4mm grey Swarovski crystal.

This quilt wall hanging measures 26" x 17 3/4".
The pattern is an old fashioned favorite, pinwheel. It is made using two fabrics, which alternate in the pinwheel pattern, thus creating a delight in motion.
All fabric is 100% cotton. The colors of the fabrics are white with blue background and dark blue background with green-blue paisley. The binding is a double binding of a green background with red-beige paisley.
The wallhanging is machine pieced and machine quilted.
The back of the quilt is the same as the binding.
Two rings are sewn on each end of the top for easy hanging.
This would be a lovely accent for any room of house.

CUTE AS A BUG - Versatile Greeting Card

This is a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card.
Cardstock colors are brillant blue, very vanilla and black.
Stamped on the very vanilla cardstock are colorful, fun bugs.
A word window punch and circle punch were used to make a magnifying glass.
Another punched circle is stamped with a rolly-polly bug and layered with foam tape ontop of the magnifying glass.
The sentiment reads "cute as a bug".
Seems one of the bugs has been nibbling on the corner of the very vanilla cardstock.
Fanciful and fun, this is a great versatile card for many occasions.
