Chirpy the Bird -

Does't he look like he belongs on a tree branch singing a song? This sweet little bird pendant (that I brilliantly named "Chripy") is made of fine silver (.999) that was hand stamped using PMC.

PMC or precious metal clay is a mixture of fine silver, clay and water. The piece then needs to be fired at an extremely high temperature so that the binder burns away. The end result is gorgeous fine silver.

Chirpy was delicately created, filed, fired and burnished with lots of love. Chirpy is a little under 3/4 inch wide and long and hangs on a sterling silver (.925) chain which measures 16".

The lotus is revered as a symbol of purity and elegance, and it is a common motif in ancient Chinese poetry. That lovely point aside, they’re delicious. My mom used to give me dried lotus root as a snack. It would have some sugar sprinkled on top and although it was not aesthetically pleasing (would look a bit shriveled up), it was incredibly tasty. This is my tribute to my childhood snack.
