For a contemporary twist on the traditional Victorian inspired tussie mussie, I have made some fresh paper cones using my original pen and ink, gouache and watercolour illustrations I plucked from my portfolio.

Originally hand illustrated in pen and ink and painted with gouache and watercolour on canvas paper, these have been printed in my studio on Strathmore, acid free, 100 lb. smooth finish Bristol board, hand cut with a scalloped edge. Each tussie mussie has a coordinating scalloped edge tag made of the same Bristol board. A generous organza coordinating ribbon pulls through punched holes for hanging. Beads and baubles finish each with some sparkle.

This collection is from one of my All Gouached Up!™ hand illustrated, pen and ink, gouache/watercolour paintings. Remember, this is original art work, not clip art!

Gorgeous wrought iron filigree images in luscious jewel tones ~ these original hang tags are from my collection of colour photography.

The edges are rubbed with an antique gold ink and a generous twelve-inch (12”) organza ribbon pulls through a punched hole for tying.

Winter Narcissus in Vintage Glass Bottles - Backyard Archeology - Original Colour Photograph

Treasures found in our backyard ~ old medicine and toiletry bottles and narcissus popping up in unexpected places ~ all after having our backyard bulldozed and cleared, the old 1920’s concrete swimming pool filled in, and a few fallen trees removed.

The winter rains exposed the bottles in addition to so many other treasures and fertilized the miniature bulbs, which continue to grow after being planted over fifty years ago.

I gathered all these relics and put them together in a beautiful tablescape and made the photograph. I hope you like it.

Angel Kiss - Black and White Giclee Print Appliqued on Cotton Boudoir Pillow

Charming, romantic, simple elegance…

I started by making some giclee prints of my black and white angel photographs on cold press watercolour paper. For those of you who may not be quite sure of what a giclee print is, the definition is simple ~ a giclee print is an ink-jet print on fine art paper or canvas. It may be a print of a photograph or a painting.

Then I had my way with those chubby cherub cheeks and machine stitched the images onto 100% white cotton twill, sewing up some boudoir pillows.

The details include black organza ribbon bows hand stitched with mother of pearl buttons, and soft torn edges of the fabric.

Now you ask, “What would I do with these?"

Don’t you think that the little pillows would be unique ring bearer’s pillows in a wedding or even a charming decorative baby pillow in a nursery? So sweet.

Each piece is made to order and each is signed in pencil by me.

Convo me if you would like to have a different angel or cherub on the pillow. Remember this is not clip art, but my original black and white photographs!

If you're looking for the perfect place to record your adventures, sketch your ideas, preserve memories, or store your thoughts, look no further than this lovely handmade booklet.

This booklet contains twenty four pages of 50 pound acid free sketch paper and ten sheets of transparent tracing paper. The book cover is a giclee print of one of my original gouache designs on 120 pound watercolour paper. The inside cover is printed with a coordinating design.

On the inside of the front cover there is a hand cut pocket made from 80 pound textured cardstock and within it a giclee print bookmark on with ribbons. The book is hand bound with grosgrain ribbon and tied with a floppy bow.

It is crafted with care and skill. This is a one of a kind booklet.

This delicious photograph of baskets fuzzy peaches is such an icon of the South in the summer. I saw this display of peaches outside an old market in a small town in Alabama as I was driving to Mobile one hot August day. Parisian Flat - A Modern European Courtyard Apartment - Original Colour Photograph

Several years ago while visiting Paris I stumbled upon this colourful flat in a courtyard surrounded by grey buildings.

This was one of the very few buildings in Paris with any significant exterior colour that I came across while walking around the city. The rich ochre and crimson are striking with the black shutters. The simplicity of the architecture and aged patina I find very appealing. I have this one enlarged to an 11" x 17" and framed in an antique gold frame hanging in my dining room. It is a stunning piece.

Venezia - Gondola in the Canal - Original Colour Photograph

Walking through the canals and neighborhoods of Venice, with the colourful and ancient architecture and smell of salt water, is truly a unique experience.

The Venetian Gondolier, who we do not see, was just pushing his way through this tiny canal as fast as he could and as I rushed to get my camera in focus, I almost missed him entirely. What resulted was a photograph of just the tip of the gondola and the beautiful old home behind it. Take yourself to Venezia with this photo!
