No one would have guessed that Scarlet's teeth were firmly gritted behind that winsome smile. After all, wasn't she quite the belle of the ball in her lovely new frock? The tributes had poured in- she was the most graceful, the best dancer, the most lovely. Everyone had said so.
Everyone but Bobby Butler, that is. Scarlet seethed. Dimly she heard Mrs Grigsby introducing her to Major Fairchild, the guest of honour, and she dropped an elegant curtsey. Still sealed 1930s pattern by Blackmore for a little button up coat, with shoulder fullness, pockets, fitted waist and shaped hem.

Although this is a beautiful pattern, I'd recommend it for sewers who have some sewing experience (especially working with vintage patterns). This is because there is no technical line drawing/schematic and because the only instructions provided in Blackmore patterns are the text on the back of the packet (see photos).

Short bolero jacket has long sleeves and fullness in the shoulder. Short sleeve dress has waist yoke extending into sash that ties at the back and shaped neckline.
