This is a 4 color block print created using "Easy Cut" a material that is like a giant erasure that cuts like butter. I used two blocks and carved on both sides for a total of 4 color separations: Yellow Ocre, Blue, Gold and Deep Blue. This is a bleed print, meaning the colors are printed all the way to the edges.

Joyama mountain was the view from my Mother's studio window when she lived in Ohito Japan. In Japan mountains are Goddesses. Joyama is known as a very jealous Goddess. When local men are approaching the apex they expose their genitals so that she doesn't mistake them for a female rival and kill them in jealous rage.

In this edition I scrap the intaglio ink into etched lines of my printing plate. After wiping it clean of most of the ink I hand paint ink thinned with linseed oil onto the un-etched areas of the plate. I then print the hand colored plate through the press to transfer the whole onto a sheet of print making paper.

This is a print of my son Chris when he was 12. He and our golden Keya had just finished a rowdy game of soccer.

This is a color photo copy of an original monoprint on bright white laser bond paper.

The original was made by rolling ink onto a Plexiglas plate. I then removed ink from the plate to create the skull. I laid a sheet of paper atop the inked plate then transfered the image by burnishing the back of the paper. This technique is called a subtractive technique because ink was removed to allow the paper to show through and create the highlight areas of the image.

This listing is not for the original one of a kind artwork, its is for a photo copy of the original. The original is available in my website; if your interested send me a convo and I will create a private Etsy listing for you.

Artwork will be sent in a protective archival plastic sleeve with a foam core board backing.

This tiny collage was created for Illustration Friday, a website where each week on Friday artists are given a theme to illustrate. This weeks theme was "Sour."

I used decorative papers to create this. The backing is a dark blue art paper. the lemon is make with a paper that has an embossed texture. The orange skin is a mulberry paper printed with gold leaves, the pulp is a peachy mulberry printed with yellow leaves. The lime skin is a marbled paper and the lime pulp is a paper printed with green chrysanthemums.

Once I pasted the papers down with pva glue I embellished with a little magic marker.

8x10" 3 color Woodcut Print on various 9x12" printmaking papers; edition of 19.

This woodcut was done in the Japanese Hanga technique. Rice paste and watercolor paint is brushed onto the carved block, paper is placed on top then hand burnished. When the paper is pulled away the printed image is revealed on the reverse side. A separate block is carved for each color in the artwork. The colors used were magenta, yellow and cyan.

The inspiration for this print came from a large figure study painting.
