The deep blue center of this piece is actually copper. After constructing this piece out of silver and copper I let it sit in a home-made mixture (my little secret) that forces a beautiful blue patina onto the copper. Once the piece has dried out, I polish the silver and coat the copper in a protective lacquer to preserve the blue patina. It's quite an involved process so I have only made a few of these pieces. Get 'em while they last!

This Blue Moon pendant comes on a 16" silver chain with a lobster clasp.

Three delicate buds peak through the center of a protective oval frame. This is my contemporary, nature-inspired take on a cameo pendant (which is why I named this piece "Bud Portrait"). The oxidized surface is lightly brushed.

The ginkgo is said to be the oldest living seed-bearing plant, and, as such, it has become a symbol of longevity and of hope.

These handmade earrings were inspired by the shape and spirit Gingko leaf. I abstracted the form slightly to give it my own unique twist. My designs are not exact replications of nature. I am inspired by the shape and feeling of specific elements of nature and strive to capture the essence of the form. The abstraction in the design allows the piece to be open to the interpretation of the wearer.

In addition to "Gingko Leaf", this shape has been referred to as "the butterfly necklace", or the "whale tale". Any way you look at it, this pendant captures a light, fluttery, strong, yet gentile feeling.

The leaf shape is created by hand from a light gauge red brass sheet. I use different metal fold-forming techniques to create the gentle curves. The red brass is also textured by hand, heat treated, and brushed for a unique surface finish. This texture is unique to Mushka Designs... you won't see it anywhere else!

The Gingko Leaf pieces were produced in limited quantity. Only a few remain in stock.

Ear wires are 14k gold filled.

My designs are inspired by the nature's elegance and rustic beauty. In this design, two hand formed bronze leaves balance in perfect harmony. As a metalsmith I enjoy hand fabricating each original design in my studio in Surfside, FL. A variety of metalsmithing techniques including fold forming, hammer forging, and your basic sawing and soldering were used to create this design. I consider jewelry miniature sculpture and pay just as much attention to the design of the back of the piece as I do the front of the piece. You will enjoy this necklace from all angles!

The leaves are heat treated and brush finished to bring out a range of golden brown tones. The surface is treated with a light coat of metal lacquer to preserve the color. The chain is gold-filled with a lobster clasp. 16" long.
