When I found this plate, I knew exactly what I wanted to paint on it. It is a square plate with round edges,and an inset in the middle and measures 9-1/2 x 9-1/2". It was the perfect surface for this amazing design from Renee Mullins.

I have painted the wood plate black, and the speckled with white for a snowy background. I then painted this sweet snowman gazing out the window watching the snow fall. The word Welcome Winter were handpainted to the top and bottom. After painting it was sealed well for for protection. This mousepad would be a welcome addition to any prim or country decor. I have handpainted this mousepad with a Kim Klasson design, of a red saltbox house, willow tree,and a flag with the word "peace". Across the top of the pad I have painted the words "Simple Blessings" in black. The background of the pad is done in a very warm shade of beige.

After painting it has been sealed several times to stand up to constant use. A damp cloth is all that is required for cleaning, so please do not immerse in water. The mousepad itself measures 9"x7" and 1/4" thick making for a very substantial pad, not like many of the thin ones you often see. The large size makes for a very nice work surface.

I have handpainted this bar of soap with a primitive snowman holding a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, and wearing a scarf painted in maroon. The background of the soap has been painted a light beige, and after painting the soap has been sealed well for lasting protection.

These soaps may be used from the bottom up, and the design will remain, but please do not leave immersed in water or the design will come off. I use my soaps for decorative purposes only.

I have handpainted this wood breadboard with an adorable snowman reaching to top the tree with his favorite star! The breadboard is made entirely of wood, and is quite thick measuring 14-1/2"x5-1/2"x1". Since it is painted it is not food safe though. The background is painted black, with the snowman scarf done in a soft french blue gray. His long stocking hat is painted in deep burgandy. I have flecked the entire piece with snow, and then sealed it for lasting protection. It will come ready to hang with a homespun tie, or it may be removed and hang by the hole drilled in the top.

I have been gearing up for summer and love to change my mousepads out for the seasons, so this is one that I did for this summer. It measures 9"x7" and is 1/4" thick giving you lots of mouse room. I have wanted to do this design for a good long while, as I just love it. This is a sampler design by Kim Klasson, that I have painted on a canvas board and placed into a black frame.
The colors are very prim, done in dark tans and deep burgandy. The painting itself measures 8x10 and with the frame the piece is 12x10. After painting it was sealed for protection. The frame has been painted black and then distressed. This piece just brings back such wonderful childhood memories, as my stocking was always my favorite part of Christmas...thanks for looking!

Up for your consideration today is a wooden paddle that I came across at an estate sale this summer. It has a slightly beveled edge at the bottom that I just loved. I have painted the background of the paddle a pale sage green, then distressed and antiqued for a very old appearance. I then painted a Terrye French design of Santa, his gingerbread helper, and a saltbox house. The bottom of the paddle has been painted black, with the words "Jingle Thyme". A piece of aged cheesecloth was used for the hanger, and a rusty tin jingle bell was also added. The paddel itself measures 13"x5".

Handpainted Primitive Willow Tree Shelf Sitter

I have had a wonderful time painting these sitter blocks. I plan to do several, but this one is for the Home Sweet Home Willow Tree block. It is made of wood, that has been cut to measure 4-1/2"x5-1/2"x1-1/2". The wood is not perfect, but I felt it lended an even more aged appearance to the piece. You will find imperfections, but it does not take away from the piece in any way.

I have painted the entire block black, added crackle medium, and then applied a top coat of light beige, allowing for the black to come through the cracks. I then painted a design by Rhonda of Primitive Stitches of a Willow Tree and added the words "Home Sweet Home" in black.

They are just a wonderful addition to any country or primitive shelf gathering, or to set in a cupboard. Please check back as I will have more block sitter designs coming soon. Thanks for looking!

Primitive Handpainted Sheep and Willow Blessings Mousepad

I just did this design for a customer and loved the way it turned out, so I did another one to offer here at my Etsy shop. The background of this mousepad is a linen beige.....my camera picks up a blue cast but there is no blue. It is a very rich beige. I then painted two sheep, and the willow tree sitting on the sage green hill, and then to the bottom I included a burgandy strip, with the word Blessings added.

These mousepads are 9x7 and are a wonderful size surface. The wipe up nicely with just a damp cloth, as they have been sealed several times to stand up to the constant use. Please do not immerse in water though.

Up for your consideration today, is a new item that I have added to my shop. Make-do's are so popular now with all the primitive and country style decorators. This make do is constructed of a rusty bed spring that has been sealed, and then a fabric star as been tied to the spring with pieces of grungy cheesecloth. The star itself is made of muslin, and then painted a mustard yellow. The phrase "Wish Upon a Falling Star" has been painted in the center. The tip of the star has been embelished with a scrap fabric star, with a button attached. A small grungy tag has been added to the left side that reads "Free Wishes" and it is held in place by a safety pin. The entire piece has been lovingly grunged for a wonderful old time appearance.

The entire piece measures 10"x7" and would make a wonderful addition to any primitive shelf, cupboard, or just as a "make-do for any entrance table or coffee table. I really enjoyed painting this design from Terrye French. I painted this on a 9x12 canvas, with staple free sides, so that it can either be hung as is or placed in a frame of your choice. The colors in this piece are so soft, as I used a pale pink for the background, and French Mauve on the blanket. I added prim flowers and vines to the outside edges, giving it that perfect shabby look. It has been sealed for lasting protection and will wipe clean with just a damp cloth.

Christmas Tree Guest Soap

Here is an adorable addition to any Holiday decorating! This is one of my soaps that I have handpainted for that extra little touch to any holiday themed room.

This bar of soap is a regular bath size bar, which I have painted with prim lovers in mind. I first painted the background black, applied crackle, and then topcoated with a light beige, allowing for the black to show through the cracks. I then painted a Charlie Brown Christmas tree standing on a mound of snow. It has been shaded, antiqued and aged for a very primitive appearance. It will come ready for gift giving in a clear cello bag, tied with a kraft colored twist tie and my own logo tag.

These soaps are usually used for decorative purpose but they can be used from the bottom up, and the design will remain till the soap is gone. If you choose to use the soaps, just don't leave them immersed in water, as the design will not stand up to constant soaking.

Please keep in mind that these soaps, although they are small, weigh in at 4.5 ounces, without packaging. So I can mail 1-2 bars First Class, but any more then that must go Priority Mail. I can fit 7 bars of soap in a Flat Rate Envelope for 4.75. Thanks for looking!

This frame has been painted black, and then distressed on the corners and edges for a very time worn appearance. I have added a mustard star with vines and berries to the top, a mustard saltbox with star on the left, a sheep in the center, and a willow tree in the right hand corner.

Primitive Handpainted Crow and Willow Mousepad

This mousepad would be the perfect primitive touch to any office decor. It is of ample size measuring 9"x7" and is 1/4" thick. This was based on a design from Susan Burd, but as always I have to make changes to give it my personal touch. The background is painted a golden brown, and then painted with the willow tree, and two crows resting on the grass below. The bottom border was painted black, and the word "Primitive" was added in the same shade of golden brown as the background at the top.
After painting, the mousepad was sealed several times with an durable sealer, so that it stays fresh and clean with just a damp cloth.

Here is an adorable addition to any Holiday decorating! This is one of my soaps that I have handpainted for that extra little touch to any holiday themed room.

This bar of soap is a regular bath size bar, and I have painted black, added crackle to allow the black to show through. I then topcoated with an antique white and shaded and antiqued for a very time worn appearance. The candy canes have been painted a dark burgand. After painting I sealed it well with three coats of durable sealer, and they clean up wonderfully with just a damp cloth.

These soaps are usually used for decorative purpose but they can be used from the bottom up, and the design will remain till the soap is gone. If you choose to use the soaps, just don't leave them immersed in water, as the design will not stand up to constant soaking.

Please keep in mind that these soaps, although they are small, weigh in at 4.5 ounces, without packaging. So I can mail 1-2 bars First Class, but any more then that must go Priority Mail. I can fit 7 bars of soap in a Flat Rate Envelope for 4.75. Thanks for looking!

Up for your consideration is a one of a kind wood plaque that measures 16"x6-1/2". The edges are beveled giving the plaque an old colonial feel. I first painted the plaque black,applied a top coat of ivory, and then distressed to give it that old time charm. This design is based on one by John Sliney, with my own primitive touches added. The saltbox house is a deep burgandy, and "Old Salt Inn" is written at the bottom. It will come to you ready to hang with a hanger on the back. Here is another of the soaps that I have painted for this Holiday season. This prim moon Santa soap would make a terrific gift for all those Santa collectors, or those on your list that are so hard to buy for.

The is a standard size bar of bath soap and I have painted the background a midnight blue. I then painted the Santa moon and added snow in the background. After painting it has been sealed several time so that the design will remain if you used from the bottom up. Please don't leave immersed in water though, as the design cannot stand up to soaking.

Up for your consideration is a prim bar of soap that would make a great addition to any prim or country themed bath or kitchen. I have painted this bar black, and then crackled with a top coat of beige. It has been shaded and further antiqued to give it a very aged appearance. I then painted a black star with burgandy pipberries, sealed with several coats of sealer, making it easy to keep clean with just a soft cloth.

Here is another one of my holiday soaps! These soaps make wonderful gifts for co workers, teachers, and family and friends.
I have handpainted a standard bath size bar of soap white, added an adorable snowman face, with a garland of green boughs, stars, and berries to the top. After painting I sealed it well, and added German Glitter Glass to the entire bar.

Up for consideration is a double switchplate cover made of wood, that I have painted black,and then topcoated a deep tan. I then sanded and distressed the plate allowing for some of the black to come through. The screws were painted black also. the star is done in black and also distressed.

Up for your consideration today is a set of three sitter blocks that I have handpainted. The blocks are made of wood, and each measures at 5-1/2"x4"x1". When they are stacked they measure 8". The sides and back of this set have been painted black. The front of the crow block is painted a brown with black allowed to show through. The salbox house block was painted a very dark red, and the sheep block is navy blue.
These would look great in any cabinet display, on the fireplace, or on any primitive shelving grouping. After painting they have been sealed well for protection. These were based on a Susan Burd design.

I don't know about you but I am always trying to find creative storage solutions and I thought this cute storage box would be an adorable addition. It is made of wood and measures 7-1/2"X 4"and is 3" deep. I painted it black, and added a topcoat of Antique White. It was then sanded, and further antiqued for a time worn appearance. On the top I have painted a penny rug in burgandy red, and black with blue pennies. The phrase Americana Wool Company has been added to the center of the penny rug. I have painted a paper mache box with an adorable design my Renee Mullins. The box itself measures 10" across and 4" deep. The top of the box has been given a rusty faux finish, to which I then have added birdhouses. A garden fence runs on each side. The bottom of the box has been painted a warm camel color, and then a dark red checkerboard was added along the bottom.

What a neat place to hold all those gardening notes, a journal, or pictures of your garden as the year progresses. Also great for birdhouse collectors or to add any touch of spring to any room of your home.
