Another for all of you beach combers out there. This version of Gifts from the Sea features the impression of small sand dollars captured in fine silver (99.9% silver).

The richly, detailed charms have been slightly oxidized to enhance the pattern. They are topped with iridescent moonstone and round, pink garnet. The ensemble hangs from a sterling silver lever back earring finding.

The sand dollar charms are 1/2 inch in diameter and total earring length is 3/4 inch.

The charms are unique and lovely and each varies slightly.

This earring design is dedicated to finding beauty in unlikely places. The texture in this earring is taken from grooves made by engraver beetles in Douglas-fir wood. The grooves are random, artistic and .... beautiful.

The charms are made of fine silver (99.9% silver). They measure just under 1/2 inch in diameter. The charms are slightly curved and are patterned on a single side. They are polished to a crisp shine and treated with just a hint of patina to emphasize the texture. Patterns in charms vary.

The extra large hoop ear wires are sterling silver and measure 5/8" across.

A truly beautiful and wonderful earring....inspired by an overlooked, random act of beauty.

Wedge Leaf Earring

On my daily hikes in this part of northern California, I often come across an evergreen shrub, which is a favorite of the local deer: Wedge Leaf Ceanothus. It has tiny, green leaves that sport lots of lovely detail, including a small wedge at the tip of some, but not all leaves.

Wedge Leaf Earring features a handmade, round fine silver (99.9% silver) charm textured with tiny Ceanothus leaves. Each round charm measures ½ across. They have been treated with just a touch of patina to bring out those sweet, little leaf impressions, then polished to a crisp shine.

Each charm is toped with a perfect, pale green aventurine bead. The ensemble is attached to a sturdy French sterling silver ear wire. Total length is approximately 1 inch.

This is a sweet earring.

This earring features the impression of Pacific Coast fern fronds. Each fine silver disk (99.99 silver) is perfectly textured of fern fronds. The disks measures 1/2 inch across (15 mm across) and are slightly curved. They have been treated with a touch of patina to accent the pattern, then polished to a crisp shine.

Topping each charm are smooth, round, green jade and tiny, pink garnet. Each ensemble hangs from a sterling silver hoop ear wire. Earring length is 1 inch from ear wire attachment.

This earring design was inspired by California Poppy flowers. It features fine silver squares (99.9% silver) textured with the leaves of California Poppy. The Poppy charms are just slightly oxidized, then polished to a crisp shine. They measure just under 1/2 inch square.

The charms are topped with bright orange carnelian buttons or Madagascar carnelian. The ensemble is attached to a sterling silver ear wire. Total length is 3/4 inch.

The “California Poppy Earring” is an actual impression from the poppy leaves found on our property in the Klamath Mountains of Northern California. Each fine silver charm receives its own individual leaf impression, so most are unique from each other; the charms are complemented by a carnelian stone bead that is a shade of orange like the poppy flowers. The second set in this package is “Loreto Treasures – Sea Urchin Earring” which is a crisp impression from sea urchin shells we found on a vacation some years ago. Karen has made molds from the surface of the urchin, then uses them to impress the round, fine silver charms on both sides. A silvery freshwater pearl and dark pink garnet sits atop the charm, embellishing it. These are favorites that “can be worn all the time with anything” according to numerous reports from satisfied customers. . Lastly, the two earring pairs may be hung on the “Small Black Walnut Personal Earring Display Rack” which is included (earrings shown on rack in photo for display purposes only and are not the earrings included in this offer). This beautifully figured and colored walnut came from Cottonwood Creek just south of the Oregon border. The tree blew down in a storm over 20 years ago and was salvaged, milled, and air dried shortly thereafter.

Each piece comes individually boxed (all shipped together in a single box) and includes a “story card” which describes the components used. Each earring box includes fine silver care instructions, an individual polishing cloth, and satin pouch.

This large (6” x 9”) Black Walnut rack will hold up to 20 pair of open wire (French wire, loop, or lever back) earrings for easy selection and beautiful display hanging from polished brass rods. Following the teachings and philosophies of master craftsman James Krenov, the hand shaped and smoothed features make each rack unique; there is no “cookie cutter” mass production work here. Each frame features traditional hand-fitted mortise and live-tenon joinery, band sawn veneer panel, and finishes that are hand rubbed. These are the same fine materials, exacting methods and thoughtful techniques that I use to build fine furniture.

I use sustainably-harvested or recycled woods endemic to forests of the Pacific Northwest in these unique pieces. Each piece is made with care and forethought in my small one person shop/art studio overlooking the Marble Mountains of Northern California.
