A fairly easy, very pretty hat pattern. A good introduction to colorwork, or a nice relaxing project for a more experienced knitter.

Requires 2 skeins of Noro Kureyon and size 7 circular and/or double pointed needles.

KNITTING PATTERN- Bad Oyster Scarf/Shawl

Why Bad Oyster? 'Cause it's got no purls ;-)

This shawl takes one 100g skein of sock yarn (I used Malabrigo sock, and highly recommend it) and is knit entirely in the round, then steeked open, a process which also creates the fringe pretty painlessly. Great, low pressure introduction to steeking! The stockinette body would be a great canvas for lace or cables, even colorwork since it's in the round. Have fun with it!

Uses US size 4 needles (you'll need some way to do small circumference, such as dpns or a long needle for magic loop, as well as circulars to handle it as it grows. I did the entire thing on a 16 inch, but it was a bit crowded at the end.)

Quirky convertible mittens! Fold the finger flaps back to find your keys, or take them off entirely to type in a chilly office. Work 'em striped or plain- the recommended yarn comes in all sorts of colors, and the simple stitch pattern is a great canvas for your embellishments.

Pattern is knit in the round and calls for size US 7 DPNs and two skeins of Reynolds Sea Soft Wool. You also need 6 buttons of approximately the same size and a needle that will fit through them.

A dainty little beret, easily adapted to all sorts of yarn and great for relatively small amounts. It is designed to perch delicately on your head, somewhat like a fascinator, but is very easy to alter into an ear-warming floppy beret (directions to do so are included...you just knit some extra rows.)

Pattern calls for size US 7 circular needles and/or DPNs, and two skeins of Crystal Palace Yarns Maizy (held together as one.) Easily adapts to most worsted weight yarns. You'll also need enough ribbon to go around your head and tie in a bow.

KNITTING PATTERN- Dandy Scarf

A quite unique little scarf! Absolutely luscious in the recommended silk yarn, but would be beautiful in anything that's got a nice drape to it. Flexible pattern could easily be adapted to a different size of yarn or needles, and could be made deeper at the center point (though you will need more than 2 skeins of the recommended yarn if you do that). Includes link to a good tassel-making tutorial, though you could also just do some scarf-type fringe, or add bobbles, pompoms, beads...anything you want!

Requires 2 skeins of Debbie Bliss Pure Silk yarn, and size 6 needles. I would say it's an intermediate/adventurous beginner knit (and even easier if you use something other than pure silk, which is a bit slippery) :-)

Zippy! 420 yds, 100gm. Never again worry that your socks just aren't bright enough :-)

This yarn has been dyed with professional acid dyes. It is superwash merino, but for best results, wash by hand in lukewarm water and lay flat to dry. I strive for color accuracy in my photographs, but please keep in mind that all monitors are different, and what is accurate on my computer may not be on yours.
