There is something fantastic about the art that is painted on the backs of skateboards. It's gritty, colorful and funky. I made it my mission to recycle a few of our old boards into something functional...art!

Artwork is created using iridescent glass and cowrie shells on a recycled skateboard deck. Sides & back painted black. Hanger on back for attaching to wall.

**The glass used for the squid's body is iridescent. It changes color from dark glass to a full rainbow of color in the light. It is very tricky to photograph!**

Size: 31 x 8 inches

This ring is fresh & cool, like just picked vegetables. It is made with chunky smalti, a type of tesserae that is made by pouring molten opaque glass onto a steel slab and allowing it to cool. The large pieces of glass are then cut into rectangular chunks. Smalti is known for its inherent air bubbles and hard candy appearance.

The smalti & millefiori are set in a 2cm square sterling silver bezel. The adjustable ring band is 8mm thick and can be sized (by you) to fit any finger.

I am inspired by intense color palettes, unexpected textures and the wonderful chaos that emerges when the two are intertwined.

Self admittedly a nonconformist, my artwork often reflects my refusal to conform to conventional ideas and motifs. admire cultures that use color fearlessly and am inspired by the mysteries of space and mythological creatures. My obsession with the sparkling imperfections of glass and iridescence have spurred on many of my designs and continue to serve as inspiration for future projects.
