Boudicca handmade paper and twig lamp

$125.00
'Lamps With Soul' ♥ ♥ ♥ Handmade paper and twig one-of-a-kind sculptural accent lamp embellished with leaves, lichen and Celtic designs.

I am called Boudicca.
I am the power, the strength
to stand for is right, just and fair.
Let me support you in your journey.

Boudicca was a warrior queen in ancient Britain who revolted against a Roman takeover. This regal lamp represents the agony and the ecstasy of taking a stand. She is stained with a deep red dye and embellished with golden Celtic designs (I used a stamp made from my grandfather's wood carving.) The burgundy colored leaves and black and gray lichen complete her majestic attire.

• The paper shade measures 6 x 6 x 10.5 inches (15 x 15 x 27 cm)
• Snap in lighting fixture with a 4 watt bulb in a candelabra socket
• Six foot cord with inline switch
• UL approved wiring
• Handmade paper is coated with a protective acrylic medium
• Signed and dated by the artist
• Care instructions included

This sturdy little lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca paper which is known for its strength. I start with the raw fiber. After cooking in an alkaline solution, the pure fibers are beaten to make a slurry and then formed into sheets which are wrapped around the twig framework. As the paper dries it shrinks tight creating a very taut and stable surface. The frame is made with a ¾” wood base to which the upright twigs are attached with epoxy clay.

As with all my lamps, this piece is finished with an acrylic medium for durability and ease of cleaning. It is lit with a 4 to 5 watt night light bulb in a candelabra socket that is inserted into the bottom of the lamp. The fixture has a 6 foot brown cord with an inline switch. Felt pads on the legs protect your fine furniture from scratches. To clean, dust lightly with a feather duster. The paper will tolerate humid conditions such as in a bathroom or on a covered porch but it must be protected from getting wet.

With this lamp you will receive: the lamp (carefully packaged), the lighting fixture (with brown cord) and 4 watt bulb and a blessing card that has an image of the lamp and the blessing.

Sea green Refillable Blank Journal

$20.00
Refillable 6 x 9 inch hard bound blank journal with a screw post binding.

Just like you, this journal is unique. There’s not another one like it in the entire Universe. And just like you, it is full of potential. It can be whatever you want it to be. Fill it with your thoughts… hopes… dreams… all your wild imaginings. And when it’s full, you can remove the pages and put in more blank sheets, which I can make available upon request.

I've covered the book board with black book cloth and a lovely Thai marbled paper. It has a little gold braid accent. This book opens flat revealing a black book cloth liner and nearly 100 pages of high quality recycled paper. [I weigh the paper rather than count the pages so cannot guarantee an exact number.]

The cover paper is finished with acrylic gloss medium for durability and color enhancement. I discovered this little secret by making a mistake one day. I accidentally got some glue on the cover of a book I was making and found, much to my wonder, that it made the colors pop and added an amazing depth to the paper. The result is a book cover that is rich with inspiration and beauty.

See more of my work at:
http://www.wyldewoodpapers.etsy.com and
http://www.bijouteriepapier.etsy.com

Or visit my blog to find out how I make this stuff:
http://www.wyldewoodpapers.blogspot.com

The Japanese Maple leaves are adhered with acrylic medium which also seals the paper protecting it from soil and moisture. I added little bits of gray tube lichen, a Linden twig and some tiny Cedar cones to bring a bit of the outdoors in.

The shade measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches and it's about 7 inches from the top of the shade to the bottom of the lighting fixture.

It comes with a 4 watt nightlight bulb, which never gets hot enough to harm the paper, and a UL approved night light fixture.

See more of my work at
http://www.wyldewoodpapers.etsy.com
http://www.bijouteriepapier.etsy.com
Skylar handmade paper and twig lamp

$90.00
I am called Skylar.
Welcome to my embrace
I offer protection and safety
when your journey is fierce.

*****

Linden tree twigs rise up like arms to embrace the weary traveler and magnificent lichens create a soft place to fall. Skylar's soothing presence brings a welcome respite.

The paper has subtle streaks of greenish-gray colors which compliment the pale green and black lichens. The paper shade measures about 4 x 4 x 6 inches and the twig extends to about 20 inches.

I love to find leaves like this one. It's a little weathered and old looking along with the delightful shape.

I've made a twig framework and wrapped it in handmade hickory bark paper. The leaves are adhered with acrylic medium which also seals the paper protecting it from soil and moisture. I added little bits of Staghorn lichen, and some tiny Cedar cones to bring a bit of the outdoors in.

The shade measures 5 x 5.25 inches and it's about 7 inches from the top of the shade to the bottom of the lighting fixture.

It comes with a 4 watt nightlight bulb, which never gets hot enough to harm the paper, and a UL approved night light fixture.

See more of my work at
http://www.wyldewoodpapers.etsy.com
http://www.bijouteriepapier.etsy.com
Hestia - Handmade Paper and Twig Lamp

$150.00
I am called Hestia.
I am full of the warmth of the hearth and the heart.
Come and rest in my abundance and know that all is well.

Hestia is a big lamp full of heart and soul. With grace and warmth, she will enhance any décor from rustic to contemporary. Red Japanese Maple leaves impart a spacious woodland feel. Each image shows a different view revealing how great this lantern looks from any direction.

Size: 7 wide x 7 deep x 21 tall

*****

This lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca paper. I start with the raw fiber. After cooking in an alkaline solution, the pure fibers are beaten to make a slurry and then formed into sheets which are wrapped around the twig framework. As the paper dries it takes on its own character.

Little felts pads on the legs protect your fine furniture from scratches.

Elegance - A lamp with soul

$90.00
I am openness.
I am simplicity.
I am honesty.
Nothing is hidden.
I receive with an open heart.
Enter into peace and acceptance.

This is an undemanding little lamp, totally accepting and open without pretension. The embossed gold colored Celtic weave border imparts a simple elegance. Bronze and brown colors in the paper lend an air of antiquity. Both sides of the lamp have the same design. This lamp will add a touch of warmth to a sleek modern décor. Or it would be as equally at home in an Asian inspired interior. But no matter what your décor, Elegance will undoubtedly inspire appropriate oooh’s and aaah’s from family and friends.

Size: 5.5 wide x 6 deep x 7.5 tall

*****

This lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca (banana leaf fiber) paper. I start with the raw fiber. After cooking in an alkaline solution, the pure fibers are beaten to make a slurry and then formed into sheets which are wrapped around the twig framework. As the paper dries it takes on its own character.

To clean, dust lightly with a feather duster.

With this lamp you will receive: the lamp (carefully packaged), the lighting fixture (with brown cord), 4 watt bulb and a blessing card that has an image of the lamp and the blessing.
Some little folk have even been known to bring in an unadorned branch from the out of doors to make them a cozy home.

Each one-of-a-kind star measures 4-5 inches across. You can choose from purple, green, blue or rosy peach. Just note your preference in the ‘message to seller’ during checkout. Each star is totally unique. The star(s) you receive will be similar to those represented here and in the colors you choose.

The stars are also listed in groups of three for your shopping ease. You’ll also get a little quantity discount to boot! If you would like to purchase a larger quantity, let me know and I will create a special listing for you.

These whimsical delights came about years ago when someone challenged me to make a star. So I took some twigs and some bark and waved my magic wand and . . . Voila! Wyldestars were born!

•Made of my own handmade hickory bark fiber paper and willow twigs
•Adorned with hand-dyed rococo and glitter edged ribbon
•Each is a one-of-a-kind (OOAK)
•Dyed with fiber reactive dyes in soft pleasing colors
•Embellished with golden embossing powders for a little sparkle and shine

Given birth in the wild, they have been lovingly tamed to bring you joy.
Luna - handmade paper and twig art lamp

$125.00
I am called Luna
I am the goddess of the moon.
I bring light to the darkest of nights
So you will always find your way home.

Luna is pretty spectacular, if I do say so myself! Encrusted with frilly black and silver lichen, this lamp is both earthy and elegant. The silhouetted black twigs add a touch of delicacy to this sturdy lamp. It looks like the moon shining through tree branches. The paper is tinted with a pale aqua coloring using fiber reactive dyes.

Size: 6 x 6 x 12 inches

This sturdy lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca paper which is known for its strength.

I build my lamps to last. With care this lamp can become a cherished heirloom -- a legacy of the wonder of the natural world.

With this lamp you will receive: the lamp (carefully packaged), the lighting fixture (with brown cord) and 4 watt bulb and a blessing card that has an image of the lamp and the blessing.
