Boudicca was a warrior queen in ancient Britain who revolted against a Roman takeover. This regal lamp represents the agony and the ecstasy of taking a stand. She is stained with a deep red dye and embellished with golden Celtic designs (I used a stamp made from my grandfather's wood carving.) The burgundy colored leaves and black and gray lichen complete her majestic attire.

This sturdy little lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca paper which is known for its strength. I start with the raw fiber. After cooking in an alkaline solution, the pure fibers are beaten to make a slurry and then formed into sheets which are wrapped around the twig framework. As the paper dries it shrinks tight creating a very taut and stable surface. The frame is made with a ¾” wood base to which the upright twigs are attached with epoxy clay.

As with all my lamps, this piece is finished with an acrylic medium for durability and ease of cleaning. It is lit with a 4 to 5 watt night light bulb in a candelabra socket that is inserted into the bottom of the lamp. The fixture has a 6 foot brown cord with an inline switch. Felt pads on the legs protect your fine furniture from scratches. To clean, dust lightly with a feather duster. The paper will tolerate humid conditions such as in a bathroom or on a covered porch but it must be protected from getting wet.

I am called Teague.
I offer the grounding of a strong base from which to grow.
As the tree, one needs deep roots to thrive.

The name Teague is of Celtic origin and means handsome bard. This lamp summons up the image of a young poet sitting under a tree as he writes an ode to his true love.

Teague is made from a Magnolia branch that has a few small buds and is glowing with a little rosy glimmer. Celtic knot designs mark the corners of the paper shade. Rosy-peach stains on the paper add character and interest.

I've covered the book board with black book cloth and a lovely Thai marbled paper. It has a little gold braid accent. This book opens flat revealing a black book cloth liner and nearly 100 pages of high quality recycled paper. [I weigh the paper rather than count the pages so cannot guarantee an exact number.]

The cover paper is finished with acrylic gloss medium for durability and color enhancement. I discovered this little secret by making a mistake one day. I accidentally got some glue on the cover of a book I was making and found, much to my wonder, that it made the colors pop and added an amazing depth to the paper. The result is a book cover that is rich with inspiration and beauty.

This night light is certainly elegant enough to bring a little natural light to your living or dining room.

I've made a twig framework and wrapped it in handmade hickory bark paper. The Japanese Maple leaves are adhered with acrylic medium which also seals the paper protecting it from soil and moisture. I added little bits of gray tube lichen, a Linden twig and some tiny Cedar cones to bring a bit of the outdoors in.

The shade measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches and it's about 7 inches from the top of the shade to the bottom of the lighting fixture.

It comes with a 4 watt nightlight bulb, which never gets hot enough to harm the paper, and a UL approved night light fixture.

Certificates come in denominations of $25, $50 or $100 (US$), or I can make a special one, just for you, in any amount you request. Just contact me. You’ll find a contact link in the column on the right.

I gift-wrap the handsome certificate in a beautifully designed, origami-folded envelope tied with a ribbon. I can either mail the wrapped certificate directly to the recipient or I can send it to you (I pay all postage). Alternatively, I can e-mail the named and numbered certificate to you if you wish to print it yourself.

Redemption is simple (instructions are included on the certificate). During checkout, your recipient will choose “Other” as their payment method and then enter the certificate’s unique redemption code in the “Message to seller” box.

This is an undemanding little lamp, totally accepting and open without pretension. The embossed gold colored Celtic weave border imparts a simple elegance. Bronze and brown colors in the paper lend an air of antiquity. Both sides of the lamp have the same design. This lamp will add a touch of warmth to a sleek modern décor. Or it would be as equally at home in an Asian inspired interior. But no matter what your décor, Elegance will undoubtedly inspire appropriate oooh’s and aaah’s from family and friends.

This lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca (banana leaf fiber) paper. I start with the raw fiber. After cooking in an alkaline solution, the pure fibers are beaten to make a slurry and then formed into sheets which are wrapped around the twig framework. As the paper dries it takes on its own character.

As with all my lamps, this piece is finished with an acrylic medium for durability and ease of cleaning. It is lit with a 4 to 5 watt night light bulb in a candelabra socket that is inserted into the bottom of the lamp. The fixture has a 6 foot brown cord with an inline switch. To clean, dust lightly with a feather duster.

With this lamp you will receive: the lamp (carefully packaged), the lighting fixture (with brown cord), 4 watt bulb and a blessing card that has an image of the lamp and the blessing.

Made of handmade paper and twigs these whimsical stars are the perfect decoration for a tree, a gift, a wine bottle, a wall or wherever else you desire a little charm. Some little folk have even been known to bring in an unadorned branch from the out of doors to make them a cozy home.

Luna - handmade paper and twig art lamp

Luna is pretty spectacular, if I do say so myself! Encrusted with frilly black and silver lichen, this lamp is both earthy and elegant. The silhouetted black twigs add a touch of delicacy to this sturdy lamp. It looks like the moon shining through tree branches. The paper is tinted with a pale aqua coloring using fiber reactive dyes.

Size: 6 x 6 x 12 inches

This sturdy lamp is made of handmade hickory bark and abaca paper which is known for its strength. I start with the raw fiber. After cooking in an alkaline solution, the pure fibers are beaten to make a slurry and then formed into sheets which are wrapped around the twig framework. As the paper dries it shrinks tight creating a very taut and stable surface. The frame is made with a ¾” wood base to which the upright twigs are attached with epoxy clay.

As with all my lamps, this piece is finished with an acrylic medium for durability and ease of cleaning. It is lit with a 4 to 5 watt night light bulb in a candelabra socket that is inserted into the bottom of the lamp. The fixture has a 6 foot brown cord with an inline switch. Felt pads on the legs protect your fine furniture from scratches. To clean, dust lightly with a feather duster. The paper will tolerate humid conditions such as in a bathroom or on a covered porch but it must be protected from getting wet.

I build my lamps to last. With care this lamp can become a cherished heirloom -- a legacy of the wonder of the natural world.

A delight for the eye, a balm for the soul, this magical star mobile will provide hours of peaceful pleasure. But watch out, it can be addictive to watch!

Hang it in the nursery. Hang it above your bed. Or hang it in your special room as a peaceful reminder to relax and go with the flow.

Dancing in a delicate balance the five handmade paper and twig stars are dyed in tones of peach and aqua. Gold embossing powder reflects the light as the stars circle about. The sticks of trumpet vine are painted gold completing the fantasy. Each star is suspended with very fine fishing line.

This mobile measures 45 inches from the top of the ring to bottom of the lowest star and is approximately 30 inches wide. The stars range from 5 to 8 inches across. It is quite lightweight and can be hung from a very small hook.
