CLEAR CRYSTAL QUARTZ EARRINGS (April Showers)

CRYSTAL IS A TERM that began with the ancient Greeks to describe the colorless variety of the mineral quartz. They thought that water from deep in caves had frozen so solid that it would not thaw. The Medieval Japanese thought that rock crystal was ice or snow that was frozen hard. These beliefs probably originated from the fact that during this time much rock crystal was collected from veins that filled rock clefts in the mountains, where glaciers and permanent ice is seen.
The physical properties of quartz, combined with its relatively great abundance when compared to many other gem materials, allow it to be one of the most used raw gem minerals. Quartz is cut into beads and spheres, carved into many types of objects, from animals to abstract objects and is faceted into beads and variously shaped individual stones.

The shimmering April Showers Designer Earrings were inspired by the month of April and for it's diamond like brilliance. Illuminating faceted Clear Quartz Crystal Rondelle Gemstones handwired with 925 Sterling Silver by me, and surrounded with 925 Sterling Silver and Bali Silver Beads. The 925 Sterling Silver Floral drops are handcrafted and patterned on both sides. The pretty earrings are suspended on lovely 925 Sterling Silver Floral Ear Wires from Bali.

The closure is outstanding, and a beautiful floral heart design suspended on top of the body of the clasp. It has an open filigree style on top of the heart design, and the sides and back are solid shiny 925 Sterling Silver and features a locking clasp.

Peridot is the birthstone of August and signifies joy and happiness in marriage. Peridot is known to have been mined by the Egyptians over three thousand years ago. Today, it is mined in Brazil, Tanzania, Pakistan, and Mexico. The word peridot, although said to be French, may get it's origins from the Arabic word faridat, meaning gem. Olivine is another word used by mineralogists because of it's olive color. Peridot, a variety of chrysolite, is a light to olive green, moderately hard, transparent mineral that is cut and graded as gemstones.

The inspiration for the Alyssa Designer Bracelet came from the Birthstone Month of August. Oval faceted and smooth round Peridot gemstones accentuated by illuminating South Sea Shell Pearls, 925 Sterling Silver detailed tube for the focal. 925 Sterling Silver beads and Sterling Silver bead caps from the Hill Tribes. Peridot is the birthstone of August and signifies joy and happiness in marriage. Peridot is known to have been mined by the Egyptians over three thousand years ago. Today, it is mined in Brazil, Tanzania, Pakistan, and Mexico. The word peridot, although said to be French, may get it's origins from the Arabic word faridat, meaning gem. Olivine is another word used by mineralogists because of it's olive color. Peridot, a variety of chrysolite, is a light to olive green, moderately hard, transparent mineral that is cut and graded as gemstones.

The inspiration for the Alyssa Designer Earrings came from the Birthstone Month of August. Smooth round Peridot gemstones, accentuated by illuminating South Sea Shell Pearls, 925 Sterling Silver beads and Sterling Silver bead caps from the Hill Tribes. A lovely 925 Sterling Silver oval ring holds three Peridot and Karen Hill Tribe Silver treasures. The earrings hang on shiny Sterling Silver ear wires from the Karen Hill Tribes.

Freshwater Cultured Coin Pearls have been extremely popular over the recent years. When they first came out, they were almost prohibitively expensive, but now they are more reasonably priced for these gorgeous pearls. Coin pearls are formed by placing a disc shaped pearl bead nucleus in a mollusk (instead of a round bead nucleus). The nucleus is made from natural shell material. The white coin pearl surfaces are pretty smooth, but there are occasional bumpy spots, with creamy white base color, excellent luster and opalescent highlights.

The Poor Butterfly Designer Bracelet is created with luscious and shimmering coin pearls in 13mm - 20mm in size. Each pearl is hand-wired with 925 Sterling Silver and 925 Sterling Silver round beads. Sodalite is usually found in "syenite and trachyte rocks" Most deposits of sodalite are known to be found in Brazil, specifically Bahia.
Stories about the origin of the "Princess Blue" designation for sodalite from the Bancroft area of Ontario, Canada, and
to honor Princess Patricia of Connaught (and later Lady Patricia Ramsay), a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She chose sodalite for shipping to England to enhance the decor of Marlborough House. Another story was that the mine from which "Princess Blue" comes was named the Princess sodalite mine after the Prince and Princess of Wales (Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and later King George V and Queen Mary) visited the mine during their trip to Canada in 1901. Apparently Princess Mary liked the stone so much that 130 tons of it were quarried and sent to London to decorate Marlborough House.

Natural citrine is one of the rarer varieties of quartz. Natural citrine is pale yellow to pale orange, much lighter than the heat-treated material which is dark orange-brown to reddish-brown. All of the heat-treated material has a red tint, while Natural Citrine does not.
The name comes from the French word for lemon, "citron".
Although often cut as a gemstone, citrine is actually somewhat rare in nature. These polished quartz crystal gem stones have excellent transparency with a light golden citrine color.

Gorgeous and faceted natural citrine focal gem stones fashioned on illuminating 925 sterling silver wire hoops designed and hand crafted by me. Bali silver beads at the top of the shiny hoops, and hand wired with sterling silver onto Bali silver ear wires.

Sodalite is usually found in "syenite and trachyte rocks" Most deposits of sodalite are known to be found in Brazil, specifically Bahia.
Stories about the origin of the "Princess Blue" designation for sodalite from the Bancroft area of Ontario, Canada, and
to honor Princess Patricia of Connaught (and later Lady Patricia Ramsay), a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She chose sodalite for shipping to England to enhance the decor of Marlborough House. Another story was that the mine from which "Princess Blue" comes was named the Princess sodalite mine after the Prince and Princess of Wales (Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and later King George V and Queen Mary) visited the mine during their trip to Canada in 1901. Apparently Princess Mary liked the stone so much that 130 tons of it were quarried and sent to London to decorate Marlborough House.
Lovely deep blue-violet NATURAL sodalite, accented with white streaks of calcite, is a wonderful lapis lazuli look-alike at a fraction of its cost.
Sodalite is a member of the feldspathoid group of minerals.

Three large deep red (Jatoba) sponge coral focal round beads were designed with ovals of the same coral stones.
