Postcards for past events have been turned into confetti! This is great for decorating tables (and other surfaces) or use it to pad fragile mailings.

This bag is made from a postcard consisting of mostly yellow, orange, and light blue colors, with some white and black thrown in. The bag measures 10in tall, 7.75in wide, and about 2.5in thick. The postcard is made from high-quility glossy paper.

100% cotton yarn in a red, purple, green, blue marble. I used an open weave, but since it's cotton it doesn't stretch much. I made it a tad bigger so you don't feel like your head is stuffing inside a bowl. Machine wash, air dry. All measurements taken with the item lying flat.

100% acrylic yarn in a blue-multi and mauve/tan/purple/blue pattern. Open work at the top and on the sides. My first try with open work and I think it came out well. This will definately keep your head warm this winter with space for a little air flow. The hat comes with a crocheted drawstring to cinch it for smaller heads. Please check your measurements. All measurements taken with the hat laying flat. Sorry the picture is fuzzy. The colors are bright and vivid.

100% cotton yarn in white little 'confetti' flecks of blue, green, yellow, and light blue. (You can see the color best in the 1st 2 pics.) The edge is finished of with a lime/neon green ultra-silky cotton yarn from King Tut. (The company, not the pharoah.) I love the softness and sheen of their yarns.

My first test of a new pattern. I like it - the openness, the style.. and this eggshell color. Too bad I only have 2 skeins of it. So about the hat: Eggshell and dark blue acrylic yarns, completely machine washable. I'd say it's a small-medium in size. It's very stretchy, but the last thing you want is something way too tight on your head. Color is like the bottom picture.

Crochet Winter Hat pattern PIF - Pay It Forward

This is a PIF for the pattern (designed by yours truly) of a crocheted winter hat in an adult size. Something simple that takes about 1.5 - 2oz of yarn. The pictures shows a few of the ones I've made.

PIF means Pay It Forward. But for this one no payment/purchasing necessary! (Unless you really want to.) Just print this page (or cut and paste). Simple Winter Hat

Materials used:
-Red Heart No Dye-lot Yarn (any non-bulky worsted weight yarn will work)
-Size J crochet hook.

Sitiches:
bpdc - back post double crochet
ch - chain
dc - double crochet
fpdc - front post double crochet
rd - round
ss - slip stitch
() - repeat

Ch 5 and ss to connect ring.
Rd 1: ch 3; dc 10 times, ss to connect
Rd 2-3: ch 3; 2 dc in each stitch. connect
Rd 4-6: ch 3; 1 dc in each stitch. connect
Rd 7: ch 3; (1 dc, 1 dc, 2dc) repeat around. connect
Rd 8-19: ch 3; 1 dc in each stitch. connect
Rd 20-22: ch 3; (fpdc, bpdc) around to create rib. connect

Note: can also be worked as a spiral, just skip the 'connect' and 'ch 3'. Doing this will make a child-sized hat, depending on your tension.

3 old mills are featured in this set: De Immigrant Windmill, Cave Spring Mill and Tharpe's Mill. Also included is a plain white envelope. These are standard letter-sized envelopes made from old magazine covers. They come to you in a little bundle tied with hand-spun hemp yarn.
