Detailed simplicity creates a striking contrast against the beauty of this exotic hardwood.

Floating freely on top of East African Blackwood, our little feathered friend is cutout using a dremel and a jeweler’s saw in a tear drop shaped sterling silver pendant. It hangs on a black leather cord with a handmade sterling silver jump ring.

The wooden pendant, (turned on a lathe by my husband Bruce) measures 1 3/4" in diameter, and the black leather cord is 17" long with a 2" silver plated chain attached to allow the wearer to adjust to the desired length.

Inspired by the Great Waves off Kanagawa, the simple yet powerful design of these earrings were cutout using a jeweler's saw and sanded smooth by hand.

Lightweight and sturdy earrings are linked by several sterling silver jump rings and move freely from ear wires that were also handmade and textured at the top of the ear wires for strength. The surface of the waves were given a soft, satin brushed finish.

Like many things...clothes, furniture, people, I like adaptability. Jewelry is also among one of those things that are more fun, new, exciting when they can be adaptable - to me.

Take this necklace for instance, I like to wear it long with my black evening dress - the one with the lower neckline. Then I want to wear it diagonal when I'm brunching with the girls in Yaletown. And, well then I might wear it across at the office.

This little flower has one of the most amazing scents with its small white star-shaped flowers. Flowers picked at night has the most intense aroma and have been used in so many ways since ancient times. It is a symbol of purity, humility, simplicity and strength.

This jasmine flower was hand cut from a sheet of sterling silver and riveted onto east african blackwood; the wire wrapped bail is secure and delicate. The flower is given a satin brushed finish and the pendant hangs from a sterling silver chain.

Paper winged bats come out once a year to decorate my doorway, sweeping past unsuspecting trick-or-treaters. Despite their association with many villians and vampires, bats perform a vital ecological role by pollinating flowers, and eat various plants to disperse their seeds. Many tropical plants depend for their seeds to be distributed entirely by bats. Chinese folk lore claims the bat is a symbol of longevity and happiness.

Batman would agree.

Handcut from a sheet of sterling silver, this friendly bat is given a satin brushed finish, measures approx. 2" across and 3/8" high (5 x 1cm), hangs from a sterling silver chain and closes in the back with a sterling silver clasp. Please allow 3 days after payment for fabrication.

Do you know what sound the chickadee makes? Do you need a hint?

It's no surprise that these little chickadees turn up in more of my designs - I can't seem to get enough of them.

These dainty birds sit perched on tree branches and swing slightly on handmade sterling silver ear wires. The cutouts were made with a fine jeweler's blade using a saw piercing technique. All made entirely of sterling silver and given a satin brush finish.

I'm not much for deep ocean anything, but who can resist these lovely tentacles that function as a defense and as a means to capture prey!

Patiently constructed from many hours soldering together these tentacles and work hardening them to hold their shape, they look delicate but are quite sturdy. The sterling silver ear wires are soldered to the back making this a solid little number.

Here's a hint about knitting that I learned when I was about 18...don't make your first project out of mohair. You could say I was a teensy bit ambitious. I don't knit anymore - except for an ocassional scarf that can be wrapped around my neck however many times my final project allows - and you can never tell with me.

I created this adorable necklace for a co-worker who knits fabulously. This necklace is for her. Yours will be made especially for you or for your knitter friend and will be similar to the one pictured. Knitting needles are securely soldered to the 'yarn'.

Bold mingles with delicate in this statement necklace.

Floating freely on top of ebony, our little trickster friend cutout is achieved using a very fine blade fitted in a jeweler’s saw and cut from a teardrop shaped sterling silver disk. The disk is domed slightly and floats on an ebony pendant, turned on a lathe by my husband Bruce.

The pendant is convex on the front and concave on the back making this necklace lighter than it appears.

Organix scribble necklace

These organix shaped ovals remind me of scribbles that my young daughter use to make to create the start of my portrait. Here I've linked three haphazard ovals with 2 round circles and suspended the mess onto a half round neckwire. The main parts of the necklace is given a light airyness by texturing flat. If this isn't the perfect summer necklace then I don't know what is. Remember making daisy chains and looping them around your hair? With the dreary gray clouds above us we need every bit of flowery brightness!

Three linked daisies measuring 1 3/4" (4.5cm) in total length are hand cut from a sheet of sterling silver using a fine jeweler's saw and given a satin brushed finish. The top jump ring is oval shaped to allow the chain to be switched out easily into a thin crepe ribbon or satin cord (ribbon/cord not included).

You can choose to have your own message, names or date. The letters are not oxidized unless specified otherwise.

The disks were hand punched, domed and sanded smooth and given a satin brushed finish. The locket hangs from an extra long oval, flat cable sterling silver chain.

I love the look of this large flower not only because it is big and bright but it has an asymmetrical look with the extra chain on one side.

The flower is drawn in freestyle and is cut from a thick sheet of sterling silver. Little centre pistils are pierced through and the flower is given a brushed finish.
