Medium Porcelain Donut One Hole Toggle with Lines and Dots Image

This medium porcelain donut measures approximately 1" in outside diameter, and has a 1/2" inside diameter hole.

They are all hand-made by me, and cut from porcelain slabs of clay. The thickness of the piece is about 1/8" thick, but may vary slightly.

They are extremely light weight... And fired to around 2232 F, which makes them durable (not indestructible...). A fellow bead maker once said: I treat them as I would something made from hard glass, which to me, is a good way to think about it.

The pattern is one of my original doodle drawings that I call Lines and Dots which appears on both sides of this donut piece.

You can use this piece as a toggle to finish one of your jewelry designs or as a focal piece. The possibilities are up to what your designing imagination can come up with...

This porcelain pendant is my large diamond shaped pendant, measuring about 1-1/2".

The texture is my Wavy Grid drawing which is no longer in my main production line and the glaze color is new for Fall 2009: Torched Copper.

All of my textures and glaze colors have names... and all of my pieces are glazed both front and back.

I create the texture by carving a design into clay. Once that clay is fired, it becomes my texture plate. I roll porcelain clay into that texture plate and get a sheet of the reverse image. I then cut out the pendant and a bunch of steps later... wha-la... a pendant is created..

Any pendant can be made into a necklace or earring set (depending on the listing) if you want it as a finished piece. If you look at my other listings under jewelry, you will see examples of how I choose to finish a piece by creating a wire wrapped bale to connect the pendant to a silk strand, or to connect earring sized pieces to ear wires. Doodles and drawings fill my sketch books and margins of notebooks from classes when I should have been paying better attention but instead let my mind wander...

This is one of my ink pen drawings of a Chickadee. These tiny birds visit my garden and bird feeders throughout the year... They are always on the move and are so much fun to watch... And the image of the chickadee wraps around the larger pendants to reveal the tail on the back side of the pendant...

This listing is for one pendant, and the actual pendant you receive may vary from the one pictured due to natural variations in my process. The way that the solid area of the image interacts with the glaze is always different. See third picture for an example of possible variations. These variations should be considered unique to your individual piece - such is the way of things made by hand...

PENDANT SIZE:
Large Round Pendant approximately 1-1/2" in diameter.

I scanned my original drawing into the computer and printed it on water slide decal image transfer paper and place it on one of my porcelain pendants. Once dry it is fired in my kiln to over 2000 degrees F which allows the iron oxide in the ink transfer into the glazed surface permanently.

IN ADDITION:
I have 6 basic pendant shapes: Round, Square, Diamond (actually square on angle), Rectangle, Triangle-like, and Oval. Smaller pendants are available also (think earring pairs or just a single smaller piece). Convo me to discuss custom orders with decal images.

Flower Cluster Printed Scarf With Silve Shimmer Ink

This is one of my Marsha Neal Studio original flower drawings that I have scanned into the computer and had fun playing with size and arrangement. I had my friend Kim of Aspenwear (www.aspenwear.etsy.com) print them on scarves for me.

Please choose your color scarf and leave it in the message when checking out (Lt. Purple, Lt. Blue, Olive, Navy, Eggplant, Brown, Black, Asphalt) with the flowers printed in silver shimmer ink. At first I thought, silver shimmer, won't that be glittery. But to my very pleasant surprise, it wasn't that chunky glitter look that I expected. They call it shimmer and that is a good description. It shimmers when the light reflects off of the small particles in the ink.

This is a very long scarf, which I personally love! I usually wrap it around 3 times and wear it all the time, indoors and out. It feels like you are wearing a really comfortable old tshirt around you neck. Perfect to keep that indoor chill off your neck.

CARE:
It is recommended to usually wash these kinds of scarves in the delicate cycle and dry it on low to keep them looking newer longer. I do that sometimes, but usually throw them into a garment bag so they don't get all tangled with the other things in the wash and put them into whatever load the color goes with on nothing hotter than warm.

I love how the edges of this scarf curls too. It reminds me of when I was younger and my mom used to give us old tshirts as dust rags. I always spent more time fooling with the curled edge instead of dusting...

This is one of my ink pen drawings of a Dark Eyed Junco. You know that winter is on it's way when these little birds start showing up to your feeders around here. They spend summers up in the Northern US and Canada, and winters here (we get our share of ice and snow). These little birds like it chilly!

The image of the Dark Eyed Junco wraps around the larger pendants to reveal the tail on the back side of the pendant...

Small Porcelain Tablet Bead with Drawing Design Number 1

This small tablet bead measures about 1/2" by 1/2".

The end shape, where the hole goes through the bead is about 1/4" at the thickest part (if you look at the end shape, it looks like an oval or eyeball with the hole going through the center of it.

The hole is about 1/8" (or about 2mm).

The bead is cast porcelain, which is glaze fired to around 2232 F. This makes for a very durable bead. The image is one of my own drawings, applied to the bead by hand.

Doodles and drawings fill my sketch books and margins of notebooks from classes when I should have been paying better attention but instead let my mind wander...

This is one of my ink pen drawings of a flower - I've got a lot of them..

I scanned my drawing into the computer and printed it on water slide decal image transfer paper and place it on one of my porcelain pendants. Once dry it is fired in my kiln to over 2000 degrees F which allows the iron oxide in the ink transfer into the glazed surface permanently.

I wire wrap the pendant with 20 gauge non-tarnishing brass wire so that it can be hung securely onto a necklace.

PENDANT SIZE:
Large Round Pendant approx 1.5" in diameter and about 1/8" thick

For a necklace, I often use one of my silky ribbons. The ribbon is hand washable, color fast (won't bleed or fade) and is approximately 40-42" long with unfinished ends. Just tie it in at back of your neck like you would your shoelace and you're good to go.

All pendants will ship with a silky black ribbon unless you want another color ribbon. My website MarshaNealStudio.com has all 64 colors listed under the hand painted silk page.

I have 6 basic pendant shapes: Round, Square, Diamond (actually square on angle), Rectangle, Triangle-like, and Oval. Smaller pendants are available also. Convo me to discuss custom orders with decal images.

This is one of my ink pen drawings of a Chickadee. These tiny birds visit my garden and bird feeders throughout the year... They are always on the move and are so much fun to watch... And the image of the chickadee wraps around the larger pendants to reveal the tail on the back side of the pendant...

This listing is for one pendant, and the actual pendant you receive may vary from the one pictured due to natural variations in my process. The way that the solid area of the image interacts with the glaze is always different. See third picture for an example of possible variations. These variations should be considered unique to your individual piece - such is the way of things made by hand...

Triple Daisy Scarf in Grass

This is one of my Marsha Neal Studio original flower drawings that I have scanned into the computer and had fun playing with size and arrangement. I had my friend Kim of Aspenwear (www.aspenwear.etsy.com) print them on scarves for me.

This particular item is the Grass scarf color with the flowers printed in black ink.

This is a very long scarf, which I personally love! I usually wrap it around 3 times and wear it all the time, indoors and out. It feels like you are wearing a really comfortable old tshirt around you neck. Perfect to keep that indoor chill off your neck.

CARE:
It is recommended to usually wash these kinds of scarves in the delicate cycle and dry it on low to keep them looking newer longer. I do that sometimes, but usually throw them into a garment bag so they don't get all tangled with the other things in the wash and put them into whatever load the color goes with on nothing hotter than warm.

I love how the edges of this scarf curls too. It reminds me of when I was younger and my mom used to give us old tshirts as dust rags. I always spent more time fooling with the curled edge instead of dusting...

This is a set of my porcelain or chocolate clay shards for you to use as you would like... jewelry making, mixed media, whatever you can think up.

I have used soft wire and have wire wrapped them for a pair of earrings. And it seems that I always get comments about how unique they are when I wear them.

They start out as small clay balls that I roll in-between two wooden textured blocks. You can see a tutorial on my blog on the actual process:

The porcelain and chocolate clay is fired to 2232F so it makes for a more durable product. Now mind you I did not say indestructible... They can break, so be "smart" when creating with them. Treat them as you would if they were a glass bead (a glaze is glass by the way).

And if you want a particular "general" length, color and clay combination, just convo me via Etsy and I'll let you know if I can make them for you for you. Remember - all are different because they are hand-made...

If you want them as an earring pair, convo me about that too... I like taking a break and making jewelry once in a while (there are also some jewelry designers out there that make jewelry with my pieces...).

One of my textured porcelain pendants - my gnarly spiral design... on a Hand Painted Black Silky Ribbon.

All of my textures and glaze colors have names... and all of my pieces are glazed both front and back.

I like naming things to make it easy to remember them and so that I can have clear conversations about them with others...

I create the texture by carving a design into clay. Once that clay is fired, it becomes my texture plate (see the background - that's one of my texture plates). I roll porcelain clay into that texture plate and get a sheet of the reverse image. I then cut out the pendant and a bunch of steps later... wha-la... a pendant is created...

I have a lot of standard glaze colors to choose from, and have a number of new ones to try out for some variations. My website has individual pendants - not necklaces - to choose from. Please note that there is a lot here on Etsy that I do not sell through my website. I do that on purpose...

This particular pendant measures about 1-1/2" in diameter.

The wire on the pendant (and earrings if pictured) and any small charm, is either Brass or Bronze from Vintaj.

The hand painted silk strand measures about 40-42" long, is color fast (won't bleed or fade), and is hand washable. The ends are unfinished, so you just tie it around your neck in bow and you're ready to go...

Flower Drawing 15 on Large Rectangle Porcelain Pendant with Black Silky Ribbon

Doodles and drawings fill my sketch books and margins of notebooks from classes when I should have been paying better attention but instead let my mind wander...

This is one of my ink pen drawings of a flower - I've got a lot of them..

I scanned my drawing into the computer and printed it on water slide decal image transfer paper and place it on one of my porcelain pendants. Once dry it is fired in my kiln to over 2000 degrees F which allows the iron oxide in the ink transfer into the glazed surface permanently.

I wire wrap the pendant with 20 gauge non-tarnishing brass wire so that it can be hung securely onto a necklace.

PENDANT SIZE:
Large Rectangle Pendant approx 1.5" tall x 1" wide x 1/8" thick

For a necklace, I often use one of my silky ribbons. The ribbon is hand washable, color fast (won't bleed or fade) and is approximately 40-42" long with unfinished ends. Just tie it in at back of your neck like you would your shoelace and you're good to go.

All pendants will ship with a silky black ribbon unless you want another color ribbon. My website MarshaNealStudio.com has all 64 colors listed under the hand painted silk page.

I have 6 basic pendant shapes: Round, Square, Diamond (actually square on angle), Rectangle, Triangle-like, and Oval. Smaller pendants are available also. Convo me to discuss custom orders with decal images.
