This yarn was spun on my little Ashford spinning wheel. I first handpainted roving consisting of 75% soft merino wool with a 15% mohair for extra sheen and softness, and then spun the yarn single ply. It is bulky and very soft and yummy and was spun to be thinner and thicker in places to create a lovely texture for knitting or crocheting. I love using this yarn as a novelty yarn in my felted hats.
The color scheme of this yarn is a lovely combination of purple, magenta and yellow.

This is a beautiful neckwarmer, which was knit with my own soft handspun yarn. I am in love with the wild and scenic Skagit River that flows by our homestead. Its colors have always inspired me: deep turquoise, blue and green... When I handpainted the roving for spinning this yarn, I had this color in mind, and I think I succeeded!

The material for these fingerless gloves came from my friend's alpaca. I did it all from start to finish: from the raw fleece to these beautiful handwarmers.
When the fleece was clean and dry, I carded it, then spun it, and later handdyed it with turquoise and blue-green colors. This produced a lovely effect because the fleece was originally different tones of brown.
I handknit the mittens with my own design, which is narrower at the cuff and gets bigger at the top for an elegant look and perfect fit. The top of the gloves is decorated with angora yarn, which I get from my own bunny and spin it into beautiful, soft, warm and silky yarn.

I love the beautiful river that flows close by our wilderness homestead. It is the wild Skagit River, and its colors have haunted me ever since I first laid eyes on its waters. Deep turquoise, blue, green and grey, with white caps swirling, salmon spawning, and eagles hunting for fish.
I tried to recreate this color when I handdyed and handpainted roving to make it into yarn for these mittens. I think I have succeeded and fell in love with the yarn I spun and then knit into these fingerless gloves.

Why did I make a flower purse just when winter is knocking on the door? Because I am already sick of the cold, rainy, dark weather, and that's why I needed to make a flower purse to remind me that spring will, indeed, come again.

This purse is special since I made it from raw alpaca fiber. I sorted and washed the fiber, dried it, carded it, and then spun it. It was such a joy to knit with this yarn that I had created from the raw material of one of my favorite fiber animals!

The texture of the felted fabric is lovely. You can only get that kind of detail from knitting and felting handspun yarn.

I needle felted a pretty purple flower on it, with quite a lot of detail and coloring in the petals and the stem. Needle felting is like painting with wool!

The bag can be closed with a beautiful silver button that echoes the flower theme of the purse.

The elegant handle is made from glass beads that sparkle like diamonds when the light hits them right. The length of the handle measures 14 inches.

The purse measures 9 inches wide, 8 inches high, 3 inches deep.

This yarn was spun on my little Ashford spinning wheel. I first handpainted roving consisting of 75% soft merino wool with a 15% mohair for extra sheen and softness, and then spun the yarn single ply. It is bulky and very soft and yummy and was spun to be thinner and thicker in places to create a lovely texture for knitting or crocheting. I love using this yarn as a novelty yarn in my felted hats.
The color scheme of this yarn is a lovely combination of green tones, mixed with a little brown.

Alpaca is one of the softest and warmest natural fibers. I spun the yarn from 100 percent pure Alpaca roving on my Ashford spinning wheel, then handdyed it with purple and green tones. I couldn't wait to knit up the yarn into this cute baby and toddler hat. It has a moss-stitch band for decoration.
The circumference of the hat at its widest (lowest) point is 16 inches, its height 5.5 inches, which fits a baby and a toddler.
The Alpacas belong to a friend of mine, who treats them like they are her own children - they are happy and lucky animals!
Gently handwash hat with mild detergent.

When I wanted to take a picture of the hat in order to list it, I didn't have a model because my own little boys are a little too big for the hat. Since they don't play with dolls, I didn't have a model for the hat, and it looked too strange on various teddy bears. So my ever-resourceful husband suggested a balloon as a model. Alas, you see this beautiful hat modeled on a jaundiced-looking balloon...
