These earrings are just marvelous. Solid green turquoise column shaped cylinders are topped off by handmade granulation sterling from Rajasthan. Sterling silver wirework finished the look with a spiral at the bottom of the drop. The turquoise is a yellow green, a very versatile color. The drops are suspended from sterling silver ball posts.

The marvelous focal bead in these earrings is a handmade Kashmiri, also called Lac beads. They are made in Jaipur, India now, but used to be made in Kashmir (hence the name.) They are resin decorated with metal and little pieces of glass, totally unique, no two are completely alike. These are black resin with red and blue glass and silver color metal decorations.

These earrings are wirework stacks of red jasper, matte finish black onyx and the Kashmiri bead. The findings are sterling silver.

OK. Now, these are my favorites. They look ancient to me, sort of Roman...don't ask me why, as they actually feature healing pendants from Nepal. (I found them at Pema Arts which is a site run by the Tibetans. Everything I have picked up from them has a wonderful energy.)

On top of the repoussee decorated brass cones with white freshwater pearls is a stack of blue chalcedony. It is secured with a lot of 14k gold wire piled on above and below, which gives these a more primative, ethnic feel. The earrings are suspended from 14k gold filled French hooks.

The snowflake obsidion stones in this bracelet look like double ended pyramids- a very interesting shape. They are graduated and interspursed with sterling silver tribal beads from Rajasthan. There are 'dog bone' shaped snowflake obsidions tapering towards the magnetic clasp. All of the silver you see is sterling with the exception of the clasp which is silver plated.

The black and white of the gemstones is reflected in the deep detail on the sterling silver beads. The variety of shapes is eye pleasing as the contrast of modern and tribal motifs blend so well.

You might be a little surprised at the cost on these earrings. There is a good reason! The diamond shaped piece at the top and the round piece between the chevrons are Pumtek beads. These are very old (made in the Himalayas between 1600-1700 AD) from decorated, opalized palmwood. They come from Burma and are sometimes called "buried thunder." So, these components are rare!

These are accompanied by brown soo chow jade chevrons which look like arrows to me...hence the title. Everything is brought together with sterling silver and topped off with sterling silver earwires.

These are unusual, ethnic style earring in a neutral earth tone palette which will compliment just about everything and everyone! Plus, it is like wearing some real history.

Where will you go and what will you know when you wear this interesting lapis and silver piece?

This necklace combines both cut and unpolished Afghani lapis and Afghani lapis pendants with heavy gauge handmade sterling silver melon shaped beads from Rajasthan. The color is amazing and ranges from a deep to high noon blue with pyrite inclusions.

The three pendants feature a 10mm x 8mm lapis over a 30mm x 22mm lapis inverted triangle set in silver metal of unknown composition. These are traditional Afghani pieces and there is a lot silver in them as they do take a polish. The melons are made of sterling silver as are the rounds and decorative Bali beads at the ends of the necklace. It is finished off with a sterling silver hook and eye.

All I can tell you about the large, round, flattish black glass bead in these earrings is that they are African and they are OLD. I have one more bead (slightly larger) which would make a terrific pendant on request! If you like tribal ethnic style, these earrings are for you!

These black glass beads were formed and decorated with a central ‘eye’ and radiating spokes. It looks like a Sun symbol. To keep it simple, they are accompanied by a small carved bone round and sterling silver wirewrap piled onto the top of the focal bead. They are suspended by a fancy sterling silver French hook earwire.

The oval fossil stone here is millions of years old…the fossilized life forms from the ocean floor! It is a form of agate as all of the interstitial spaces have filled in with quartz. In the center hole of this carved piece is a speckled round of vegetable ivory ( a seed ). Circuitous sterling silver wirework binds these two components as mirror images of one another.

The colors in these earrings are amenable to so many palettes… earth tones, tan, black… and the patterns are organic and natural interpretations of classic black and white. This is sophisticated ethnic at it's best!

This necklace features super high gem quality American turquoise heishi in graduated sizes from 8mm to 3mm with shell at about 12mm intervals. American turquoise is the very best quality in the world. The shell is peach colored on the tips with mottled brown and white on the inside. The sizes range from 40mm to 30mm in length.

This vintage Native American necklace has been restrung and reworked so that the longer shells from the middle are now a primitive pendant with a stack of turquoise on top wrapped in gold wire. The amethysts in this necklace are some of the most beautiful, rich purples I have ever seen. To make it even more amazing is the star ruby at the center of the round pendant of the centerpiece. This piece features an ancient brass coin from China. It is at least 400 years old, inscribed with four characters on one side, two on the other. These coins are real money from long ago, and now copies of them are used for everything from tossing the coins for the I Ching to jewelry. I have had this coin in my collection since the early '80's (have some Roman coins that are 2000 years old! watch for them!!!)

Like time weaving a pattern in our lives, I have woven Baltic amber and freshwater pearls through the coin and some assymetrical brass beads for a very interesting and serpentine look. This bracelet is made from components from around the world.
There are two kinds of jade in this bracelet: large Chinese green jade and small green and black jade from British Columbia. Handmade sterling silver from Rajasthan are featured as both a focal piece and as caps for the larger jade beads. Round sterling silver spacers set off all of the components of this bracelet. It is finished off with a sterling lobster claw.

Made from lusterous green freshwater pearls, light filled labradorite, grass green peridot and multi-colored ametrine with a handmade hook and eye closure featuring an ametrine. The rope is 52 inches long. The stones are hand faceted and range in size from 5 x 8 millimeters for the smallest peridot to 10 x 15 millimeters for the ametrine. The hook and eye closure is 14K gold filled wirework.

This is one of the most beautiful color combinations ever, called "Moonlight Through The Cherry Blossoms"... dusky mauve pink and stormy gray. These lusterous pearls are semi-baroque near rounds, high graded for color and sheen. Interspersed randomly with stunning Rajashani sterling silver and finished off with a sterling S-hook set with a garnet. The strands are made so that when worn, one lays perfectly just above the other to form a continuous stream of color and shine. The strands can also be twisted to form a graceful spiral effect.

The necklace measures 19 inches for the shorter strand, the other is about 1 1/4th inch longer. The earrings measure 1 1/2 inch from the top of the ball post. All findings and wirework is sterling silver.

African Shield Earrings

The brass shield featured in these ethnic style earrings is a Tuareg type of design (the Tuareg are from North Africa.) The shield is engraved on both sides. Hanging from the bottom is a central carved bone with a geometric cut flanked by two black horn tubes. The decorative gold rounds are 14k gold filled as are the earwires.

These surprisingly lightweight earrings make a slight jingling sound when they move. Anything that jingles is always good for warding off negativity. These earrings have a pleasant sound which is soothing. If you like ethnic jewelry, then these will please you!
