Since purchasing our first set of vintage bubble lights a few years ago, our Christmas tree has developed a mid-century modern flare and this ornament is a design straight from our personal collection.

Replicating the primary colors of our bubble lights this atomic starburst's center is made from vibrant swirls of Multi Blue, Green, Yellow and Sparkling Silver. We then added clear glass dots and rays to complete the 50's inspired ornament.

It's no secret we are passionate about sealife at Full Blown Glass, whether influence by our gorgeous Florida environment or purely the mysticism of the unknown abyss. The true inspiration for this piece actually started with a news report over our morning coffee...a Giant Squid sited in Japan. A few hours later, in the studio, we decide we must pay homage to the Giant Squid...albeit a mini-giant squid.

The Squid began by swirling rods of Multi and Green Amber Purple then hand blowing to create the head. Clear lampwork borosilicate glass tentacles were added along bold sparkling Blue Metal eyes. A matching Multi hook completes the piece.

Our squid is perfect as an ornament or suncatcher, but in true Zissou/Cousteau style we prefer to hang ours in the aquarium. (We added a hole to the blown head so it will remained submersed in water).

All our ornaments are handmade from strong, durable borosilicate glass.

At Full Blown Glass we are not known for holiday ornaments in traditional motifs or colors (octopus ornament anyone?!?) but there's nothing like the nostalgic feeling we get each time we create one!
This one reminds us of delicious homemade peppermint bark.

This hand blown ornament began with clear glass tubing before we added Santa's favorite colors of Red and White. After the color is swirl we blew out the ornament, reheated it with the torch and stretched and pulled to create the hourglass shape. Finishing touch was the additional of a clear glass hook.

A traditional blown glass ornament has a modern appeal when overdosed with color. We choose to use only Northstar color rods in our glass work due to bold true-to-life color and vast selection. We then encase all the color with clear glass to further enhance it's vibrancy.

We've had many a "do they or don't they" conversations on the topic of dragons. We've find it interesting how many culture have their own unique versions of dragons and a trip to the aquarium brought us face to face with a weedy sea dragon! Our ornament is a true fantasy piece influenced by many types of dragons (land and water dwelling) to create a true mystical beauty.

Our handmade lampwork dragon began by swirling Amber Purple and encasing in clear to form it's eel like body. Next we added wings of Transparent Green, which become a rich reddish tone when using an oxidizing flame. The finishing touches: devilish horns of sparkling Blue Metal and Onyx Black fangs complete the piece.

We are totally in love with this bold, modern shadow box!

We started with an up-cycled cherry stained wood frame and added a bright glossy white photo paper background. We used the cherry stained frame as inspiration and created an abstract borosilicate glass lampwork sculpture in some coordinating colors.

Abstract sculpture has clear center and swirls of Burgundy, Sky Blue and Brown. A clear circle was attached to the back so that the piece appears to "float" in the shadow box.

Handmade palm tree long stem candle holder showcasing both lampwork and blown glass techniques. We started clear borosilicate glass scalloped tubing and blew into a tea light holder. We then accented with thick clear glass truck spiral of Rust. Forest Green leaves complete the piece.

We started by hand blowing clear borosilicate tubing dusted with Cobalt Blue glass frit (crushed glass) to create the fish body. We then added ampwork clear fins, Green eyes and Cobalt Blue lips to complete the piece.

This wise snowy owl is a gorgeous addition to a nature lover's holiday decor. We envision him delicately hanging from a dark evergreen tree decorated with big natural pine cones, festive red cranberry garland and soft twinkling white lights.

Our snowy owl is handmade from northstar Oregon Grey glass rods, we heated and rolled in Egyptian White frit (crushed glass) to create the speckled body and wings. We added matching Oregon Grey feet, ears and beak along with Ninja Black eyes. The entire piece is encase in clear glass to enhance the richness of the color.

All our ornaments are handmade from strong, durable borosilicate glass.
