With Child (Bright)

$19.00
I designed these hammered, sterling silver earrings as a tribute to my daughter-in-law, who delivered the first baby girl in my husband's family for nearly a century! I would have designed them even if the baby was a boy; but I was especially prone to ♥Baby Brain♥ with the birth of a child of the female persuasion.

I made myself a pair, too; because, heck, I was kinda "with child" as well! (Even though that protrusion is NOT a baby bump...)

"With Child (Bright)" earrings are extremely lightweight, and about 1 1/2" long; the finish is shiny, polished silver. The wires are sterling, as well. I also have a listing for "With Child (Oxidized)" earrings, which are finished to a darker, antiqued patina.

The perfect gift for an expecting mom or grandma-to-be, "With Child" earrings are individually handmade; so each pair is unique.

IronGirl...IronMan

$39.00
I created this design for my friend, Peter; who wanted a silver bangle he "couldn't break." So I hauled out my heaviest sterling, torched the ends into strong, snakeheady finials; then hammered it and tumbled it for additional strength. Gave it some rounded angles and a heavy coat of oxidation, for drama. Peter gave it the thumbs up.

Then he told me that on Bali, where I first met Peter, the day I completed the bangle was Pagerwesi - pager=fence, wesi=iron. The day to fortify oneself against negative influences. How perfect! And I have several brave friends training right now for the IronGirl. Clearly, the universe wants me to call this piece "Iron" something!

Because this bangle is open, it has a bit of flexibility. Easy on, easy off. And a little "wiggle room" for my bangle-breaking friend...

Please include your wrist measurement when you order your "Iron", so that I can build one just for you. Yours might look just the tiniest bit different from the photos, because it will be custom-made for your own personal wrist! (If you are "gifting" the "Iron", we can make a fair guess on size, and fine-tune after delivery, if necessary.)

Wiggles - Ice Bangle

$59.00
Oh, how I love to make "Wiggles"! Torching, curling and hammering miles of sterling silver; never knowing exactly what I'll crank out. Combining the heavily oxidized silver curlicues with gorgeous glass globes; resulting in moody-cool confections. What a way to spend a day!

Along with the oxidized sterling, this "Wiggles" bangle features icy, frosted, recycled Java glass from Indonesia. The beads have a watery-aqua cast. They are beautiful; and they are joined by a couple of Bali beads; so they don't get homesick. Everything mingles on a heavy, hammered silver bracelet.

This bangle is sized for an average 6" - 6 1/2" wrist. If your wrist is substantially larger or smaller, send me a message with your measurement; and I will make a "Wiggles" just for you!

"Wiggles" is proud to be part of my TangleBangles collection. This bracelet has a matching "Wiggles - Ice" necklace, also available for purchase, if you like jewelry sets.

Beachlet Number 5

$26.00
So there's a board meeting next week, and you just can't get to the beach...don your "Beachlet" and the beach comes to you!

"Beachlets" are made from genuine sea glass, hand-collected from shorelines around the world - California, Scotland, Canada, and my favorite collection site, Macau! (Now part of China, but a Portuguese outpost for many years.)

"Beachlet #5" features a beautifully distressed piece of green glass from Monterey Bay. I encased it in fine silver, and suspended it from a 16" bronzed leather cord. The pendant is approximately 2" in length. It has just the tiniest bit of oxidation, for subtle drama. Simple, organic and unique. Just like you!

Your friends will be so jealous, they'll ask you why you didn't send postcards.

"Beachlets" are new for 2009.

A LITTLE Magic

$32.00
It's a modern conundrum. In this day and age, we need our Magic Wands more than ever. Yet the signs are everywhere:

"No Magic Wands beyond this point!"

"Magic Wands must be placed in checked baggage!"

"Please check all Magic Wands at the door!"

Not even Glinda could get hers through security. Even if she used Extra Sparkly Super Strength Glitter Dust. And not even Glinda could qualify for a Concealed Carry Permit.

What's a Princess to do?

Here, My Dear, is "A LITTLE Magic"! A discreet, personal-sized Magic Wand, guaranteed not to trip security sensors. If you find yourself in front of a cute little Costa Rican rainforest cafe with no lunch date? No worries! Any frog can now be your Handsome Prince! Missed your flight home? Just click your heels together three times...

Inspired by my friend Sherie, who knows that I have a REAL, full-sized magic wand - and frequently asks me to "wave that sucker until it breaks" for her - I created "A LITTLE Magic" so that every Princess can score her heart's desire EVERY SINGLE TIME. Each teeny two-inch treasure is adorned like no other, and features fine silver, copper, a shiny bead or two; and a stamped brass charm. I have suspended each Wand upside down on 16 inches of extra pretty leather cord. (The easier to wave it, My Dear. If it was upright and you tried to direct it at a toad, you 'd just poke yourself in the neck.)

"A LITTLE Magic" is the first offering in my enCHANTments series; for Discerning Princesses and Wannabes.

Christmas Tree Farm

Let's hide!

Or we could get all of our little red and green ducks in a row, and get some shopping knocked out...and who DOESN'T need a Christmas tree around their wrist?

These squiggly, sideways Christmas trees are perennial best-sellers at my holiday shows. They are made of lightweight, hammered sterling silver, with silver or gold "tree toppers." I always sell out by the end of the day.

I have them in "snug" (wrists smaller than 6"), "average" (wrists 6" to 6 1/2"), and "loose" (wrists larger than 6 1/2") sizes; and also in an "extra snug" size for older children. (I don't recommend them for children aged 7 or younger.) Just leave me a "Message to Seller" with sizes and gold/silver tree-topper selection; I'll get them right out to you.

These bracelets are GUARANTEED not to drop needles.

ReMEMbrants

$25.00
Mini masterpieces, major memories! Magical moments can last a lifetime as ReMEMbrant jewelry. Send me a wedding invitation, birth announcement, graduation program, theater playbill, memorial program, or any other event promotion and I will turn it into a unique collage. We can make it as festive or as formal as you wish. These tiny treasures are great for bridal party gifts, corporate promotions, proud grandmothers, first communions, recitals...I have created ReMEMbrants for so many occasions!

You can choose a silver- or gold-tone 1" square pendant; or a 3/4" x 1 1/4" rectangular pendant. I have all sorts of natural and metallic leather colors for the cord, or you can choose from an assortment of silver-tone and gold-tone chains.

I can also work your keepsake into a 1 1/2" diameter key ring.

When you purchase a ReMEMbrant, be sure to tell me whether you would like the square, rectangle or key chain, and also your preference for silver or gold color in the Message to Seller. I will convo you the cord and chain choices that will work with your selection, and ask you some questions about embellishments. Then you'll send me your "memory" (please bear in mind that I will be cutting it up for collage!) and you'll have your finished ReMEMbrant a week or so later. I will be glad to sign, date and inscribe whatever you wish on the back; and preserve the words with a coat of sealer.

Keep a Kleenex handy, because I have seen a lot of people cry upon receiving a ReMEMbrant.

Carbon Nation Blue

The ultimate Trash-to-Treasure.

This coppertone frame features a chunk of cast-off cola can; covered with cola-can curlycues and crumbs. And right smack on top, like a mega-magnifying glass, is a clear flat glass marble. (Who on earth would throw away a bag of perfectly serviceable flat glass marbles? It was so my lucky day when I found them. If I knew how, I would have played the lottery.)

The cord is brown leather with a silvertone clasp. It is 18 inches long.

There is nothing flat about this soda can creation. Check out the side views! So cool...and signed and dated on the back by the artist. That's me! Your personal Carbon Nation Blue might appear just a little different from the one in the photo, because you never know what part of the can you'll get...it will be its own special self.

(Oh, this might not be the best gift idea for someone who drinks Coca Cola. I'm just sayin'...)

If you are new to American RoadKill, The Series, here is the lowdown, the downlow, the scoop, the dish.

The Story of American RoadKill, The Series:

So often I find myself wishing I was walking a beautiful beach, gathering sparkling sea glass to work into silvery treasures; rather than scrubbing bathtubs, hauling 50 lb. bags of dog food and getting my mammogram. There's nothing quite so satisfying as finding that perfect "jewel" in the ocean, and knowing exactly what I will make of it. And to think, beach glass is really just trash.

Hmmm...beach glass is really just trash. So I'm just taking a walk, picking up trash and making it into stuff. Hmmm...

Several thousand "hmmms" later, and a walk on a busy road, dodging curious onlookers as I darted out between cars to save bottle caps, American RoadKill, the Series, is born!

One Girl's Trash is Another Girl's Jewelry.

Please do not purchase this piece if you have 4 kids under the age of five, and you've been nagging hubby about "that little operation." You've been warned.

However, if you enjoy antiquities, simple adornments and organic design, this piece is lovely on its own, and melds beautifully with other bangles. Just be sure they are well-chaperoned when they are together.

"Fertile Turtle" has an inside measurement of about 7 1/4". It will comfortably fit an average wrist - about 6" to 6 1/2". If your wrist is considerably larger or smaller, please leave your wrist measurement in the "Message to Seller" box, and I will make adjustments for you.

My crystal collection is mostly from the 1930's and 1940's, so you can imagine the stories these gems could tell!

"Crystal, Light" earrings dangle just about 2" from their midpoint. They are happy to go to the grocery store, or sit at the Captain's Table on your next cruise. Wanted to stop shivering in the studio. Oh, if only the lavender hyacinths outside the slider would poke through the cold, hard ground...I would have hope that summer was on the way. But, no shoots, no sprouts.

So I made my own. Pale green new jade, green java glass and gorgeous lavender and green lampwork. Miles and miles of curled and curved and hammered and twisted sterling silver.

This 16" choker-length necklace is made of a curved, rigid center section and two rigid side pieces, interspersed with handmade, hammered silver links. It is substantial, without being heavy. And completely, utterly, totally and absolutely unique. Springtime colors, light enough for warm weather wear; and guaranteed to bring a summer smile to winter whites.

Like when you have to dress up for your cousin's solo clarinet performance at The Club. But tuxedos can also be fun. Like penguins. Tennessee Tuxedo! Or your super-cute Tuxedo Cat.

This pendant is definitely the fun kind of "Tuxedo." The just-about-one-inch-square, antiqued silvery frame is filled with a whole bunch of black-and-white Murano glass mosaic slivers, imported from Italy; and some fancy, silvery sparkles. It is suspended from an 18" oh-so-pretty, multi-strand ribbon cord.

It would be just stunning at the clarinet performance, or while you are carrying your cute cat around.

I make each "Tuxedo" to order. Yours might not look *exactly* like the photo, but it will be very similar. And it will be its own special self.

"Tuxedo" is part of my ColorCrumbs collection.

Just leave me a "Message to Seller" with sizes and gold/silver tree-topper selection; I'll get them right out to you.

These bracelets are GUARANTEED not to drop needles.

ReMEMbrant, Embellished - Custom

The 1" square antiqued silvertone frame features the college gold seal in the background, and layers of the graduate's many accomplishments (and a little glitz and sparkle) floating on top. I have finished it with a sterling swirl, signed and dated it on the back; and suspended it on a 16" bronze skinny saddle leather cord with sterling findings. So subtle from a distance, and so special up close.

You and I can transform any special event into a ReMEMbrant. Simply purchase your ReMEMbrant, Embellished; and then we will convo the details and you can mail me the "innards" (which will have to be cut to pieces, BTW) so it is exactly the way you want it. Silver or gold? What color cord? Simple or Over the Top? We'll talk, OK? What a special gift for new moms and grandmothers, bridesmaids, graduates...if you want to remember it, a ReMEMbrant is the perfect answer!

Discounts apply if you order 4 or more of the same design. You might also want to look at my other ReMembrants listing, where you will see some "unembellished" ideas; and other sizes and styles (including a key ring.) You should receive your finished piece about a week after I have received the material to make it from you.

So many rules...one strand at a time. Don't THROW the tinsel. (There goes all the fun!!!) Don't let the cat eat the tinsel. Sorry, I won't go there, but you can imagine. Even if you've never had a cat.

If I could take one tinsel strand at a time and coil it into a pair of earrings, it would look something like this. Truth be told, hammering and coiling the silver is easier than making sure that I decorated the tree correctly; according to the pickypickyparentals.

But, just barely.

These 1 1/2" swirly trees are made of hammered silver, accented with gorgeous green metallic toppers. You can hang them on your tree, also.

But, don't let the cats eat them.

This is a Full-Fledged Christmas Tree For Your Wrist! With stars, and bells, and lemon-yellow dots of candlelight...

An antiqued, bronzetone chain hosts colorful red, gold and green anodized aluminum loops; which in turn feature a frenzy of new and recycled beads...I love the vintage glass stars and tiny jingle bells! This bracelet is one-of-a-kind. Some of these beads are so rare that I'll never be able to make the same design again. "This is Not a Holiday Tree" closes with a festive, diamond-shaped brasstone clasp.

"This is Not a Holiday Tree" measures just about 7 1/2" excluding the clasp. It will fit an "average" 6" to 6 1/2 " wrist comfortably; if your wrist is not "average", simply leave me a message in the "Message to Seller" box and I will make adjustments.

While this bracelet appears quite chunky, it is surprisingly lightweight and fun to wear.

In fact, my mind is generally there when my body is at dance class, or cleaning the garage. This dainty, hammered sterling silver bangle bracelet features a piece of antique lemon-yellow Java glass that I found in a shop in Ubud, Bali. The star-shaped spacers boast Balinese pedigrees, as well. Colorful, sunny, unpretentious, friendly and beautiful; this bracelet captures the essence of my second home.

"Jumpin' East of Java" is sized for an average wrist. If you would prefer it to be larger or smaller, just leave a "Message to Seller" and we'll talk, so we get it just right.

Please be aware that the Java glass beads are verrrrrrry old. Ancient, in fact. I have a limited number of them, and they are all a little different...your bracelet might not look EXACTLY like the one pictured, but it will be very, very similar. And it will be its own special self. I also have a few clear Java glass beads...let me know if you would prefer one of them to the yellow ones.

REALLY COOL BREAKING NEWS ABOUT THESE BEADS!!! Torching, curling and hammering miles of sterling silver; never knowing exactly what I'll crank out. Combining the heavily oxidized silver curlicues with gorgeous glass globes; resulting in moody-cool confections. What a way to spend a day!

Along with the oxidized sterling, this "Wiggles" bangle features pumpkin-colored recycled Java glass from Indonesia. The beads are rustic and chunky; they are joined by a couple of Bali beads; so they don't get homesick. Everything mingles on a heavy, hammered silver bracelet.

This bangle is sized for an average 6" to 6 1/2" wrist. If your wrist is substantially larger or smaller, send me a note with your measurement, and I will make a "Wiggles" just for you!

"Wiggles" is proud to be part of my TangleBangles collection.

If he has any taste at all, it is Bad Taste. He would NEVER buy you this oh-so-pretty 46-inch string of multi-colored pearls dangling daintily from a gorgeous antiqued copper chain. Oh, no. Not Earl.

He'd go right on down to the Walmart and get you a new vacuum cleaner.

"Oh, Pearl, Pearl, Pearl..." looks great worn long, or doubled; to fill your neckline perfectly. It can even be tripled, thanks to a hammered and oxidized copper clasp. If your neck is slim (unlike Earl's!) you can wear it as a choker.

But wait, there's more! I just experimented with using it as a bracelet. Six wraps around! And it jingles when you shake your wrist.

Who needs Earl?

Way off in the distance...just some whitecaps at first, then a flash of shimmery green tail fin. All of a sudden, she broke the surface of the water; so gracefully. Just like Esther Williams without a bathing cap. And then she was gone, in a splash of pearly droplets.

I challenged myself to commemorate the event with this one-of-a-kind sterling silver bracelet. It is made of a single strand of sterling silver wire; diving and bobbing amongst the most beautiful pearly green, white and champagne glass beads. The bracelet is so comfortable and light to wear. It has a springy quality about it, almost as if it is floating atop the whitecaps.

Because "Mermaid" is made of one continuous strand of sterling, it cannot be re-sized. It will comfortably fit an average wrist of 6 to 6 1/2 inches. If your wrist is not "average," let me know your measurement; and we can create a "Mermaid" just for you.

Like the ones at Farallon Restaurant, in San Francisco; or like a Dale Chihuly Sculpture Lite.

I was torching stuff the other day, and made a series of little curlycues with tiny balls at the ends...looked over at
my collection of "special" glass beads, simultaneously wished I was in SF. And ended up with a whole family of Jellyfish!

These delicate amethyst siblings measure about 1 1/2" long. The wires are sterling; the dangles are fine silver. I went down into the studio, turned on the radio, grabbed some silver, and started making...A Fish. I have no idea where that fish came from.

He's hammered sterling, and about two inches long. For whatever reason, he has a silver swirl in his belly, and it is adorned with the sparkliest antique blue Aurora Borealis crystal. He hangs on an 18" long collection of black ribbon and cords, with silvery findings and a lobster clasp. Because he is made in two parts, he will dance when you do.

Maybe you need "One Fish"; or you know someone who does. I just hope he finds a good home.

Let me know if you'd prefer a different colored crystal on your Fish. (Not really surprising - my mind is often at the beach when it should be focused on the cat food aisle of the grocery store instead.)

This unusual, hammered sterling silver bangle features the clasp as a focal point. You simply squeeze the bracelet to fasten and release the clasp. (I know. Because once I invented it I openedandclosedandopenedandclosedand...well, you get the idea...for a very loooooong time before I got bored.)

The finish is an oxidized antique sterling silver patina, . I also have a listing for a shiny bright version; and the two of them look great together.

"Surf" has an inside diameter of about 7 1/2". It will fit an average, 6" to 6 1/2" wrist perfectly. If you need it sized differently, please leave your wrist measurement in the Message to Seller box, and I will make adjustments.

"Surf" bangles are individually handmade; you might note slight variations from the bracelet in the photograph.

"Surf" is very proud to be part of the TangleBangle Series.

$24.00
I just finished a stable full of equestrian beauties - a custom order for a favorite customer. I love them so much that I want to make some more! Okay, I have a little bit of Horse People in me, I admit it...and if you're Horse People too, you know what I'm talking about.

You can design your own "Whoa, Nellie!" Just tell me which frame you would like, 1" round, 1" square or 3/4" x 1 1/2" rectangle. Choose your frame finish, antiqued gold- or silver-tone. And choose your horse color. I'll take it from there! A bit of adornment, maybe some sparkle or a sprinkle of leather and rhinestones. I'll suspend it from a coordinating 16" leather cord (longer if you wish) and add a lobster clasp. You'll end up with a pretty pendant from a distance, that tells a story up close. And you'll probably be the only cowgirl at the rodeo sporting a "Whoa, Nellie!"

I'm going to ride off into the sunset now.

"Whoa, Nellie!" is part of the ReMEMbrant Series.

No, wait, it's a bracelet!

"FruitLoopy" is a convoluted collection of fruity festivity. An antiqued brasstone chain sports colorful anodized aluminum rings; which, in turn, boast lampwork donuts. A brassy diamond-shaped clasp adds a little unnecessary-but-fun sass.

"FruitLoopy" measures just about 7 1/2" excluding the clasp. It will comfortably fit an average 6" to 6 1/2" wrist. If your wrist is not "average", just leave me a message in the "Message to Seller" box, and I will make adjustments.

This bracelet is chunky, but surprisingly light and comfy to wear.

A LITTLE Magic

I abandoned the really delicious hummus and pita to daydream about creating a similar design in mosaic. Well, until the Greek salad with grilled tiger shrimp showed up...

This "Sunday Best" is crafted from the most beautiful Murano glass millefiori pieces; in reds and whites, and some little glimmers of other colors. After arranging them in Sunday Style, I sprinkled the entire collage with tiny silver sparkles. The antiquey-silvertone frame measures just about 7/8" by 1 1/4". It is suspended from an 18" black ribbon cord.

If you would prefer to express your faith in different colors, just ask. I have a lovely collection of millefiori, in an entire rainbow of hues!

"Sunday Best" is a part of my ColorCrumbs Collection.

Not so weird, you say? Well, except that this peacock lives in town. In a dog house. He chases dogs. That is one Loopy Peacock!

And so is this can't-be-recreated bracelet! An antiqued, copper chain anchors a zillion copper loops, and an assortment of vintage and new peacock-colored beads. My favorites are the flat, teal rectangular ones, circa 1940, which were found (so I am told) in an abandoned warehouse in New York City! This beauty closes with a diamond-shaped, antiqued coppertone clasp.

"Loopy Peacock" is about 7 1/2" long, excluding the clasp. It will comfortably fit an average 6" to 6 1/2" wrist. If your wrist is not "average", leave me a note in the "Message to Seller" box, and I will make adjustments.

"Loopy Peacock" is chunky, but not heavy. I can't say it's as light as a feather (oh, I crack me up!) but it is quite comfortable to wear.

They were fun and funky, smooth and bumpy; and more interesting to me than the quilts with perfect patterns.

I'm not the kind of grandma who could make a crazy quilt. Those needle eyes are so little; and I have such a time coercing thread through them. But these mosaics evoke the same feel to me...a riot of color and texture; and a whole lot of fun.

My mosaic slices are Murano, imported from Italy. They are all different sizes and patterns, and I have corralled them into antiqued coppery frames. The frames are just over 1/2 inches across, and fall from copper ear wires. I have added some silver sprinkles for fun, because THAT'S the kind of grandma I am. A sparkly one.

I have a matching necklace, if you like "sets":
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20127398

I make each "Crazy Quilt" pair to order.
April Showers

$49.00
Sometimes it stinks to make jewelry. Because sometimes you make something that you really, really want to keep; but you have that entire drawer full of things that you really, really wanted to keep. And those things in that drawer are starting to breed, and your husband is not pleased.

But both the kids were born in April! On the same day, no less! And April is when the weather starts to be civilized, and those pale pink and green flower beads are so sweet, and...

Every single sterling silver link and jump ring and clasp in this 17" piece was hand forged and hammered, by me. The teeny focal flower was made by a glass artist who is long gone...and I've never encountered a bead like that since. When I finished this necklace, I just knew that a bit of oxidation would add the romantic polish I wanted; without looking too Lady Godiva or Pub Wench.

All in all, I love this piece; and if it doesn't go to a good home, it will go to my drawer of things that I really, really want to keep.

Wild Thing

$78.00
I have made quite a few TangleBangles in my day, but I have never been quite so enamored of a Tangle as I am of this one. I started it, I set it aside. I added to it, I set it aside.

I wasn't sure exactly where it was going.

Until last weekend.

Our rural homestead has been visited recently by hungry and thirsty armadillos, coyotes, foxes and turtles. Not to mention swarms of birds, armies of lizards and plagues of locusts. Because we have bird feeders, bird baths and peanuts in the shell. And it is dry, and hot, and the creatures are seeking relief in our always-full birdbaths and feeders.

The Wild Things provided the inspiration I needed. A dose of "earthy", a dose of "natural", some semi-precious agate, jasper and quartz; and heavy oxidation finished off this chunky hunk of sterling silver and stones. The drama of the Wild Things...with just a little tumble and polish.

I have favorites. This bracelet, an inch wide and utterly unique, adorned with dangles and swirls and infinite drama; is, without a doubt, one of my favorite creations. I will not conduct a background check before it goes to its "forever home". But I really want to.

"Wild Thing" is sized for an average 6" - 6 1/2" wrist. If "average" doesn't describe your wrist, just send me your wrist measurement; I'll make you a "Wild Thing" that is juuuust right.

"Wild Thing" is a part of my TangleBangle Series.

I love poking that pile of seaweed, the kind that has the little bobbly ends on it, to see what might be tangled up inside.

So it's no surprise that the pile of seaweed was the first thing I thought of when I made this bobbly little pair of rings.

The squiggly set is made of fine silver, hammered into squarish shapes, and tumbled to a high shine. These rings can be worn alone, or together in several configurations. So you can play with them if you find yourself in a boring meeting. They are rustic, organic, unique and a little bit silly.

The pictured pair is a smallish size 5; although they have a bit of "give". They are really cute "pinky" rings. If you would like a different size, just let me know; and I will create "Seaweed" just for you!

"Seaweed" are a part of my Ringles collection.
You'll discover every cut and facet imaginable! They are knotted randomly on a rich, dark brown leather cord; boasting the slightest sheen.

While this necklace is stunning worn long, it has a lobster clasp so it can be easily doubled to fill a neckline beautifully.

I have collected antique crystals for years. I can't help but imagine the adventures they have seen...a coronation? New Year's Eve in Times Square?...and the ones they have yet to see.

"Sticks and Stones - Emerald" is part of my Theme Chain collection.

This 46" heavy sterling silver chain is H-O-T. Sunset red and orange glass and crystal baubles share the night with some frosty fragments that sizzle on contact with the steamy asphalt. And look! Over there! A Cat on the Hot Tin Roof!

(Come closer. I'll tell you a little secret...a couple of the beads are so hot that they glow in the dark. But it can be doubled, if you dare.

"Hot Summer Nights" is part of my Theme Chain Series, and it is on Super Sale Right Now! Long sterling Theme Chains are usually $75... but I'm hot and bothered and offering it for $65. Fall means winter is on the way, and I have an even worse attitude about winter. This is a problem because it prevents me from appreciating snow; which means I never go skiing, or sit in a hot tub with a hot toddy, or admire nature's winter finery, or check out Colorado ERs and their bone-setting skills.

It is a virtual avalanche of regret, and I have decided to improve my outlook by embracing my Inner Jacquie Frost; creating positive associations with cooler weather. A benefactor recently endowed me with a fabulous collection of gorgeous vintage crystal necklaces, and I could hardly wait to rip them apart to craft chilly new creations. This is my initial offering, First Frost; a medley of autumn tones, and a little sunlight reflecting off frozen droplets.

Most of the crystals are from the '40s and the '50s. The jeweled focal bead is a re-purposed clasp. They are all safely knotted together on bronze colored skinny saddle leather. The findings are sterling, and there are a few silver and goldtone Bali beads here and there for extra sparkle.

The three strands range in length from 17" to 23", and they nicely fill a neckline.

I shaped and hammered the sterling wire in my Outdoor Studio (the deck) and puzzled over a name while the scent of the sweet olives wafted gently here and there. Wafted. The scent was wafting. If I drew "wafting", it would look like this pendant. I added a vintage aurora borealis crystal for drama, and suspended it from a 16" skinny brown metallic leather cord. And "Wafting" was a done deal.

Measuring about 2" x 2", it would look great with a t-shirt and jeans, but it wouldn't mind a ballgown and the opera, either.

"Wafting" is made to order, just for you. It conjures up visions of "Zen Gardens," where people use little rakes to etch pleasing patterns in sand piles, accentuated with smooth rocks. The closest thing to a Zen Garden in my house is the litter box.

But I am trying. I am deep-breathing and "ohming" as I type. And I am working on some serene adornments.

This piece incorporates a yummy 1" by 1 1/2" slice of aqua glass heaven. I swirled and hammered a sterling silver overlay, and suspended it on 16" of deep bronze rolled saddle leather.

It's all I can do to continue the posting process. I am feeling an overwhelming urge for a yoga class.

My crystal collection is mostly from the 1930's and 1940's, so you can imagine the stories these gems could tell!

"Crystal, Light" earrings dangle just about 2" from their midpoint. They are happy to go to the grocery store, or sit at the Captain's Table on your next cruise. And they won't take up any room at all in your luggage!

These things have minds of their own, and they evolve when I think I am going to make, say, a hammered silver ring. The metal will begin to gyrate under my twitching fingers, and fly off in directions I could never imagine. Like speaking in tongues, I am possessed by the Muse of The Tangles. I wrestle the silver to no avail; it will be what it will be.

"Spring, Green" is a sedate and orderly Tangle; comprised of a hefty chunk of hammered sterling silver, adorned with a beautiful, authentic beach glass gem from the Canadian coast. The pendant is approximately 2 1/4 inches in length, and 1 1/4 inches across. I have suspended it from a 16 inch triple strand of bronzed leather.

Elegant and bursting with visual interest, there will never be another "Spring, Green."

"Spring, Green" is a part of my TangleDangle Series.

Wound Up

$22.00
So last night we had a fire in our furnace, complete with fire trucks and gawking neighbors; and we can't get the part to fix the charred remains for 4 days. No furnace, no heat; and it's the middle of winter.

Is it any wonder I am making cold and edgy bracelets? Nothing warm and fuzzy here.

"Wound Up" is a cacophony of hammered pieces of copper; wound randomly onto an open copper bangle.. It is stark and metallic; but there IS that warmish copper glow about it...

This is getting a little to warm and fuzzy for my mood. And after my great success, tossing "Barbed Wire" http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20731020 into The Oxidizer and making it super-shiny gunmetal and black; I threw in "Wound Up", too.

But I know you might prefer the natural copper option, so I'm offering both. Just state your preference in the "Message to Seller" box.

I love natural copper because it changes over time; becoming darker and richer as you wear it. Of course, you can polish it; but why?

"Wound Up" is "bendy", and will conform to any wrist. It is lightweight and comfortable, and can mingle beautifully with other wrist adornments.

Each "Wound Up" is unique. Yours might not look *exactly* like the ones in the photos, but it will be very similar; and it will be its own special self. Please note that it is the nature of oxidized metals to exhibit color changes over time. They are natural and beautiful. But if you ever decide that you would like your "Wound Up" re-oxidized to a more uniform finish, just let me know. I'm happy to oblige.

"Wound Up" is part of my TangleBangle Collection.

But they have one positive aspect - they are perfect for fusing silver. When it's sunny and beautiful outside, it is very hard for me to see the flame of my torch. It is also very hard for me to stay inside and work.

On a recent gloomy day I started fusing and hammering a fine silver bracelet. My intention was to make a simple linky thing. But the gloom didn't lift, and I kept on fusing. I love the result; and the little extraneous links that slide in and out of the big links. Perfect for fiddling when you have jury duty.

BTW, "fine silver" refers to the very-high silver content of the silver, 99.5%. Not to the "delicacy" of this piece; which is chunky and substantial. It's not heavy, though. It is comfortable, and happy to solo or to share a wrist with other creations.

This "Fusion" is 7 1/2 inches long. It will fit an average 6" to 6 1/2" wrist perfectly. If your wrist is not "average", no worries. Just leave me your wrist measurement, and I will make one that is just right.

(And because the ice maker broke. My muse is not amused, and keeps whispering to me to use parts that look like ice cubes.) I chose some of my very favorite tumbled quartz nuggets; and the result is "Got Rocks"!

This piece is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG 50 inches of chic. These black Czech dichroic beads capture the moment, with no oily residue! The beads are framed with hammered sterling silver. The wires are silver, as well. The earrings are about 2 inches long, and waterproof...perfect for puddle stomping, or pairing with that little black dress.

Important Note: The beads and the frames are both handmade; your earrings could be slightly different from the ones in the photos.

Simple, earthy and serene, the stone reflects the buttery-soft colors of new foliage. The cord is 20 inches of antique bronze skinny saddle leather, with a simple lobster clasp. The top bead is handmade raku. The overlay is hammered sterling silver, adorned with a tiny, smoky-brown leaf.

This "Weeping Willow" is a representative photograph. Your "Willow" piece might be slightly different from the picture, as each pendant is hand-cut, each bead is handmade, and the hammered silver has a bit of a mind of its own.

What could be a better gift for the moms, grandmoms and even GREAT-grandmoms (not to mention sisters, aunts and godmothers!) than a special baby necklace made from that special birth announcement? From a distance, ReMEMbrants are stylish adornments. Up close, they reveal fanciful memories.

You can choose a 1" square antiqued silver- or gold-tone setting, and the type of 16" cord or chain you would like. I have many choices! Convo me to get my address and discuss a few style details, and then mail me your announcement. I'll turn it into a one-of-a-kind, guaranteed-to-make-her-mist-up-a-bit, oh-so-special gift; and have it back to you in about a week.

Order 4 or more and get a 10% discount!

(And if you don't have a baby announcement, but you want to turn another important document into jewelry, well, can do! Keep in mind, however, that I DO have to cut it to pieces. So no original birth certificates, OK?)

"Baby Love" is part of my ReMEMbrant Series.

Or even when you're just daydreaming of that beach. I will make it just for you...simply leave me your size in the Message to Seller. I would have designed them even if the baby was a boy; but I was especially prone to ♥Baby Brain♥ with the birth of a child of the female persuasion.

I made myself a pair, too; because, heck, I was kinda "with child" as well! (Even though that protrusion is NOT a baby bump...)

"With Child (Oxidized)" earrings are extremely lightweight, and about 1 1/2" long; the finish is a subtle antique-y, oxidized sterling patina. The wires are sterling, as well. I also have a listing for "With Child (Bright)" earrings, which are finished to shiny silver perfection.

The perfect gift for an expecting mom or grandma-to-be, "With Child" earrings are individually handmade; so each pair is unique.

They were fun and funky, smooth and bumpy; and more interesting to me than the quilts with perfect patterns.

I'm not the kind of grandma who could make a crazy quilt. Those needle eyes are so little; and I have such a time coercing thread through them. But this mosaic evokes the same feel to me...a riot of color and texture; and a whole lot of fun.

My mosaic slices are Murano, imported from Italy. They are all different sizes and patterns, and I have corralled them into an antiqued coppery frame. The frame is about 1 1/2 inches across, and I have embellished it with a little silvery-copper dangle. I have added some silver sprinkles for fun, because THAT'S the kind of grandma I am. A sparkly one. The neck cord is 18" of multi-strand, copper colored ribbon.

I have matching earrings, if you like "sets":
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35193920

I make each "Crazy Quilt" to order. And gambling. Sometimes it just takes a little extra luck, in the form of string of bling and lucky charms to impress the fates and walk with all the quarters!

This 46" sterling silver chain is chockablock with every imaginable piece of glitz I could find...crystals, silver, gold...and goodies like slot machine cherries, lucky stars, and dice. It can be worn long, or doubled for added impact. Each "High Roller" is made to order, and not exactly like the next; so yours will be its own special self.

"High Roller" is, by far, my most popular Theme Chain. I have made a slew of them for friends of friends of recipients. I'm not sure if that means these necklaces are really lucky, so everyone wants one; or just that they are so darned cute. But if you have a Gamblin' Mama, Grandma, Sister or Friend, this might just be the most perfect gift ever. And, of course, you can snag one for yourself if you are also inclined to roll the dice on occasion.

As my son, the poker player remarked when he first saw this necklace, "Ooh, shiny!"

Rock Candy

I just love the gorgeous gunmetal blue-black patina I can create in the process.

I decided I wanted a bangle that combines this dark, dark finish, and a collection of one of my favorite embellishments, vintage clear and aurora borealis crystals.

To me, the combination is magic. And I have decided to share.

This bracelet is loose-fitting and comfortable on my exceptionally average 6" wrist; and will easily accommodate a larger one...to about 7", I would guess. If your wrist is substantially larger or smaller, leave your measurement in the "Message to Seller" box, and I will make a "Rock Candy" that suits you to the proverbial "T".

So, treat yourself to some "Rock Candy!" And we can be TWINS!

Please note that oxidized copper can develop color variations over time. These are natural, and beautiful. But if you ever decide that you would like your piece re-oxidized to a more uniform finish, I am glad to oblige.

The photos show a sample of this design. Because your "Rock Candy" will be made to order, it might not look exactly as pictured, but it will be quite similar. And it will be its own special self!
The sterling silver is oxidized, for a subtle patina. It is a size 6 1/2, but I can make one for you in YOUR size if 6 1/2 isn't just right. Just leave me a Message to Seller.

Ringles are for grown-ups. The little beads are not suitable for small children with appetites for shiny stuff.

Although the majority of my dancing finds me teaching aerobics in tights and a t-shirt, I daydream about sparkly, swirly dresses and strappy shoes; and a strapping dance partner to twirl me around. "ChaCha" is just the bracelet for that scenario!

Then again, this fun and funky collection of anodized aluminum loops and new and vintage beads - all attached to an antiqued coppery chain - would be just as happy with a peasant skirt, or jeans. The matte coppertone clasp provides a calming influence. (But I can't guarantee it will be calming enough if "Copacabana" comes across the Muzak at the grocery store.)

"ChaCha" measures just about 7 1/2". If your wrist is not "average", just leave me a message in the "Message to Seller" box, and I will make adjustments.

While this bracelet is rather chunky, it is not clunky! Torching, curling and hammering miles of sterling silver; never knowing exactly what I'll crank out. Combining the heavily oxidized silver curlicues with gorgeous glass globes; resulting in moody-cool confections. What a way to spend a day!

Along with the oxidized sterling, this "Wiggles" necklace features icy, frosted, recycled Java glass from Indonesia. The beads have a watery-aqua cast. They are beautiful. I was right in the middle of getting a large order together for a gallery when something - I'm not sure if it was lightning, or a power surge, or a hot flash - something told me to stop packing the Christmas tree bracelets and get some silver and start bending and hammering, and add one of those vintage German crystal beads while you're at it, then throw it into the antiquing solution for a few seconds.

This is what happened. It is about 1 1/4 inches tall, and about 1 1/2 inches wide. I looked at it, and it looked at me, and I thought to myself, "what an interesting twist on a pendant!" I decided to highlight its twistyness by suspending it from a very simple 16" bronzed leather cord.

And then I finished boxing the Christmas tree bracelets.

The End.

PS: Your "Twist" might differ ever-so-slightly from the one photographed, as it will be made to order, just for you!

As I finished one recently, I was marveling at the way cool-colored beads pop in contrast to copper's warmth; and this blue-eyed, red-headed confection just kind of...occurred.

The little multi-hued donut dangles are Turkish Evil Eye beads. They protect the wearer from Evil Eyes. So if Evil Eyes are on your list of day-to-day worries, this is the bracelet for you! Even if your life is relatively Evil Eye free, it doesn't hurt to have a little extra protection. These days, you just never know.

"Eyerish" is about 7 1/2 inches long, excluding the beautiful, antiqued coppery clasp. It will comfortably fit an average 6" - 6 1/2" wrist. If your wrist size is not "average", just leave your measurement in the "message to seller" box, and I will adjust it for you.

Please be aware that copper will naturally develop a beautiful, dark patina over time. That is just part of its charm!

$49.00
Like so many other students, I had to arrange my college career around "All My Children." Back in the day, before Simon pronounced singers "dreadful" and real people were summarily booted off desert islands, our idea of "entertainment" was to hear Phoebe English Tyler Wallingford - generally in an alcohol-induced frenzy - pass out "hussy"s and "harlot"s and "trollop"s to every female arrival to Pine Valley.

Admittedly, some of the newcomers reeked of Harlotness. A little over the top, a bit too brassy...oh, how we loved them.

"Harlot" is a SERIOUSLY over-the-top bangle, with enough sparkle to please Myrtle, or Opal or any of their cohorts. It is practically dripping glitz; boasting a big ole square multicolored foil bead, a giant amber barrel bead, some fascinating bright orange Czech beads, and a whole bunch of sterling silver.

This is a substantial bracelet. It makes a (very loud) statement on its own; but it plays nice with others, too. And it won't call anyone names. The internal circumference measures about 7"; and it will comfortably fit an average wrist of 6" to 6 1/2". If your wrist is significantly larger or smaller, please leave me a "Message to Seller" and I will make adjustments.

"Harlot" is part of my TangleBangle series. Meet "Harlot"s sister, "Trollop":
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30421818

$34.00
Having grown up in the south, I have participated in my share of Ambrosia Wars. Is it for holidays only (no!); or can you eat it, just for the heck of it, on June 21st (why not?) Does it contain nuts (no), marshmallows (no again), cherries (what are you, crazy?) or sour cream (you have got to be kidding!)

Ambrosia is oranges, grapefruit and shredded coconut. Period. They mingle, and the whole becomes much greater than the sum of its parts...it's magic!

Just like this bracelet! Sterling silver, orange recycled Java glass, and an antique Vaseline bead. And here's the magic...antique Vaseline glass glows under black light! You can read more about my fascination with Vaseline glass here:

http://nancyandthekitties.blogspot.com/2009/06/around-world-in-eighty-years.html

How cool is that??

"Ambrosia" is made to fit an average 6" to 6 1/2" wrist. If your wrist is not "average", just leave me a message with your wrist measurement; and I'll make a custom "Ambrosia" just for you.

My Java glass and Vaseline beads are unique...no two are the same. So your "Ambrosia" might not look exactly like the one in the photo, but it will be very, very similar. And it will be its own special self!

"Ambrosia" is a part of my TangleBangle Series.

Or, at the very least, a princess. I was so excited when I found these Czech dichroic glass beads at a recent bead show. I had never seen anything like them, and learned that they are a brand new product. I didn't even see them on a buying trip to New York just a few weeks ago! They practically glow. Cool and beachy and reflective...the aqua color is gorgeous, and the iridescent dots change colors with the light. And I looooove the lime green! The sterling necklace is 45 inches long, just about belly-button length when worn as a single strand. Or double it, for twice the impact. This "Lady Di-Chroic" will never happen again exactly like this - I don't have enough beads!

Lady Di-Chroic is a part of my Theme Chain Series.

She looked in the mirror, swinging her head from side-to-side, and exclaimed, "They're little wind chimes for your ears!" And, I had to admit, they DO make a faint twinkly-tinkly sound when the sterling silver, hand-hammered swirls tap against the equally sterling hand-hammered edges. The stones are lovely textured lava rock, and the dangly parts are just a bit over 2 inches long. The wires are sterling silver.

The finish is bright, shiny sterling silver. I also have a listing for an oxidized version; and the two of them look great together.

The stones are lovely translucent jade green, and the dangly parts are just a hair shy of 2 inches long. The wires are sterling silver.

Each pair of "Wind Chimes for Your Ears" is made to order for you! They might not look exactly, exactly like the photo; but they will be super-similar; and they will be their own special selves.

Silver wires, tiny bintang (Indonesian word for "star", and also a renowned Balinese beer!) spacers to keep everything in place.

These glass beads are some of my favorite beads ever, and I also have a few in pale green if you would like a pair in that color.

Barbed Wire

$24.00
So last night we had a fire in our furnace, complete with fire trucks and gawking neighbors; and we can't get the part to fix the charred remains for 4 days. No furnace, no heat; and it's the middle of winter.

Is it any wonder I am making cold and edgy bracelets? Nothing warm and fuzzy here.

"Barbed Wire" is a confluence of twisted and hammered pieces of copper. It is stark and metallic; but there IS that warmish copper glow about it...and the curly self-clasp is just a little bit sweet.

Maybe a little too sweet.

So I subjected it to The Oxidizer. And, holy moly geez louise! It became the most gorgeous gunmetal color ever! I polished it to have highlights and lowlights, and it is more "Barbed Wire"-y than ever!

You might prefer natural copper, however. So I offer both options. Just let me know with a note in the "Message to Seller" box.

I love natural copper because it changes over time; becoming darker and richer as you wear it. Of course, you can polish it; but why?

"Barbed Wire" fits my 6", very average wrist perfectly. (Causing me to have a fair amount of discussion with myself about whether we can keep it even though we have a rather decent collection of our own designs.) It's a little bit "bendy" and has some "give," and I think it would be quite comfortable on a wrist a bit smaller or a little larger. But if YOUR wrist is no in the 5 3/4" to 6 1/2" range, I can create a "Barbed Wire" just for you...again, a note in the "Message to Seller" box with your wrist measurement, and I'll make one that's just right!

Each "Barbed Wire" is unique. Yours might not look *exactly* like the ones in the photos; but it will be very similar. And it will be its own special self! Please note that it is the nature of oxidized metals to exhibit color variations over time. They are natural, and beautiful. But if you ever want your "Barbed Wire" re-darkened to a more uniform finish, I'm glad to oblige.

"Barbed Wire" is part of my TangleBangle Collection.

The sunny collection is knotted randomly on very fine metallic antiqued copper leather cord.

While this necklace is stunning worn long, it has a lobster clasp so it can be easily doubled to fill a neckline beautifully.

I have collected antique crystals for years. I abandoned the really delicious hummus and pita to daydream about creating a similar design in mosaic. Well, until the Greek salad with grilled tiger shrimp showed up...

This "Sunday Best" is crafted from the most beautiful Murano glass millefiori pieces; in purples, periwinkles, greens and whites. After arranging them in Sunday Style, I sprinkled the entire collage with tiny silver sparkles. The antiquey-silvertone frame measures just about 7/8" by 1 1/4". It is suspended from an 18" purple ribbon cord.

If you would prefer to express your faith in different colors, just ask. I have a lovely collection of millefiori, in an entire rainbow of hues!

"Sunday Best" is a part of my ColorCrumbs Collection.

The Innards (excluding the resin and bubbles, of course) are 100% Certified Road Waste. No Faux Trash here! The 18 inch cord is black leather, with an integral silver-tone lobster claw clasp.

Torching, curling and hammering miles of sterling silver; never knowing exactly what I'll crank out. Combining the heavily oxidized silver curlicues with gorgeous glass globes; resulting in moody-cool confections. What a way to spend a day!

Along with the oxidized sterling, this "Wiggles" bangle features multicolored, mosaic recycled Java glass from Indonesia. The beads are cheerfully spotted; they are joined by a couple of Bali beads; so they don't get homesick.

It was sterling silver loops and swirls, interspersed with BIG mother-of pearl beads. It was also VERY, very, pricey. She wondered if I could create something similar, yet budget-friendly; and, as it takes little convincing for me to get out the torch to melt metal, I got to work.

The original piece was pretty; but kinda, um, uninspired. I pulled out my fave "garlic pearls" and started twisting and fusing and tumbling fine silver. And ended up with this uber-organic chain. "Organic" contains A LOT of silver. Twisty and rustic and irregular, just like nature. Yet pearly, and refined. So pretty long, at 33 inches; but with a clasp so it can be doubled into a GORGEOUS choker.

Each "Organic" is made to order. It will not look exactly like the last one; oh no. It will be its very own special self. Happy to share a neckline with a long copper chain, or a strand of Barbara Bush pearls. But perfectly equipped to stand alone, as well.

I love this so much that I am making one for myself.

It looks like someone had a Space Picnic and tossed all the wadded up aluminum foil overboard. It is a Czech foil bead with issues. Not the typical, beautifully smooth and polished glass-encased foil bead; rather one with a dark side and a bright side. Just like the planets! And, maybe all of us!

The hammered sterling silver bangle has been lightly oxidized; and polished to a subtle shine. It sparkles with metallic silvers, grays, and even a bit of blue, purple and gold. It is lightweight and comfortable; and will easily fit an average 6" to 6 1/2" wrist. It stands rather tall due to the depth of the bead; so a larger wrist can be accommodated also. If you have a wrist that is not particularly average, please note your wrist measurement in the Message to Seller, and I will size it accordingly.

There are some genuine (I purchased them from the artists on Bali) Bali beads for contrast.

The pendant is just a tad more than an inch square. It is suspended from an 18 inch multi-strand coordinating ribbon cord.

I make each "Simply Blue" to order. Yours could vary a bit from the photo, but it will be its own special self.

Frost on the Pansies

$26.00
I always feel sorry for pansies in the snow...even though I know they can take it. But their pretty little colorful selves in drifts of brrr.....without even a scarf!

This bracelet features an encased flower bead, one of my very favorite designs. The artist first creates tiny glass flowers, then wraps them in a clear glass bubble. This particular bead features pinky-lavender, cobalt and turquoise flowers. It is suspended on a super-delicate bangle of hammered sterling silver, and secured with sterling silver beads and a twist of silver wire.

The clasp is easy to maneuver with one hand, and the finished piece is lightweight and comfortable; at home alone on your wrist or with other accessories.

"Frost on the Pansies" is designed for an average 6 to 6 1/2 inch wrist. If your wrist is not "average", I'm happy to make a "Frost on the Pansies" just for you. Simply leave me a message in the "Message to Seller" box, with your wrist measurement.

This bangle is designed to be delicate. I would not recommend it for active young children, or tree surgeons or wrestlers.
