I knit this super warm yet lightweight beauty out of pure, natural Irish wool.

The design is braided all the way which adds a lot of texture and visual interest.
The wool is chunky and so soft. The bright beautiful colors range from Chocolate Brown to Grassy Green and everything in between! :)

I knit the neckline with organic Dark Chocolate wool. It is styled in an open turtleneck style so you can wear it 'as is' or open as a polo shirt. I added two hand carved wooden buttons made out of a Larch tree, typical of Patagonia Argentina.

The combination of wool and wood looks fabulous!

I started weaving this piece as a cape, half way through I decided that it would be a poncho and at the end, a very original hybrid showed up! I called it 'the poncho pullover'... because it is not a poncho, definitely not a cape altough the sleeves are very wide and wing like and it has a neckline so it may be a sweater or pullover...!

With all the rave there was about Batman, then I decided to called this model BATGIRL! Just because of the winglike sleeves that give you so much freedom to move your arms!

The body of the poncho pullover was hand woven in a loom while the neckline and waistband were hand knitted.

I added hand carved buttons made out of gourds.

I used pure raw wool in gray color that has been hand spun.

This new design looks just stunning and has a dash of Japanese feeling to it!

Very stylish! Not your typical poncho! ;-)

To make the story short...

I wove a beautiful blanket for my in laws as a "Hanumas" gift.
(Hanumas = Hannukah + Christmas due to our mixed religious family :)

This morning I threw it in the laundry machine to settle the weave without checking the laundry settings... why should I have done that when I am the only person in this house who does the laundry and most of the time I use cold/cold water setting?... ok, my DH in an abrupt desire to help did some laundry yesterday while I was at my weaving group at the Guild... he did 'whites' so changed the setting to HOT WATER!!!!!!

The blanket ended up to be a third of its size! I almost passed out! but saw the half glass full and decided to make 4 wonderful scarves for this holiday season.

This one is the first one and I chose the Dove of Peace to be the embellishment in these times of renewed hope in this country and around the world!

The scarf measures 40" long x 9" wide. It is absolutely soft, fuzzy and warm. I used 100% organic merino wool for the "wonderful mistake' blanket/scarf :) in Ivory color.

The dove of peace is made out of felt from different projects same as the branches/leaves. I used a mini tiny glass bead to make the dove's eye.

It looks beautiful...
It feels wonderful to the skin...
And I'm sure it will make you smile every time you think about its 'birth' story!

NOTE: Miracles DO happen. It it weren't for my darling husband and his choice of water setting, you would not be strolling around smiling with this 'miraculous' piece.

Then I decided to dye it naturally using beets... a wonderful scarf showing a range of pinks came out of the boiling pot. :-) (working the magic!)

I embellished it by cutting and hand sewing different size of flowers made out of upcycled sweaters/projects.
One of the flowers is attached to a pin so you can wear it as a brooche by itself or attaching it to the scarf to give it many styles. (some shown in pix)

It looks beautiful...
It feels wonderful to the skin...

I have knotted the ends and faced them all on one side of the weave (the knotty side) and leaving the other side neat and 'clean', a more conservative face, let's say.

I used the same braiding-basket weaving technique for the body of the corset/vest and add a very feminine knit ruffled and a wide satin ribbon for closure.

The design is tight fit so it will enhance your curves nicely!

Absolutely stunning hand woven shawl/stole/scarf.

I have chosen to weave this piece in an open weave style to show the beauty of the blended yarn from the well known store Silk City in New York.

The silk rayon cotton blend is gorgeous and the bumps in the yarn add a dramatic texture. It is super soft to the skin, drapes beautifully.

This piece is so flexible and versatile, given the open weave and measurements, that it can be worn in a number of different ways. As a shawl with a brooche, an oversized scarf that can be tied European style knot (shown in picture), wrap around your neck/shoulders, as a head wrap (think Jackie O) ;-)

The fringes have been hand twisted.

Each woven segment of the shawl has been hand sewn to prevent stitches from 'running'.

I have attached a picture with all the yarns from Silk City that I carry to make this design.

In a very short trip to Puerto Rico I was so inspired and blown away by the beauty of El Yuque, a National Rainforest. So many colors, smells and sights!

As a shawl with a brooche, an oversized scarf that can be tied European style knot (shown in picture), wrap around your neck/shoulders, as a head wrap (think Jackie O) ;-)

The fringes have been hand twisted.

Each woven segment of the shawl has been hand sewn to prevent stitches from 'running'.

I made this unisex scarf using the Honeycomb threadling method... This style represents one of the joy of hand weaving...

This scarf was woven out of 5/2 mercerized cotton in variegated tones of Hot Pink, Purple and White for the warp and 8/2 cotton in Teal and Dark Marine Green for the weft. The sections for the 'waffle or honeycomb' was done using thick yarn in Turquoise.

It measures about 3' long and 8" wide.

The fringes were hand twisted.

It looks beautiful and shows amazingly with any outfit!

It could be display as a table runner as well.

I started weaving this piece as a cape, half way through I decided that it would be a poncho and at the end, a very original hybrid showed up! I called it 'the poncho pullover'... because it is not a poncho, definitely not a cape altough the sleeves are very wide and wing like and it has a neckline so it may be a sweater or pullover...!

With all the rave there was about Batman, then I decided to called this model BATGIRL! Just because of the winglike sleeves that give you so much freedom to move your arms!

The body of the poncho pullover was hand woven in a loom while the neckline and waistband were hand knitted.

I added hand carved buttons made out of gourds.

I used pure raw handspun wool in Forest Green color for the weft and a nice soft Moss Green for the warp.

This new design looks just stunning and has a dash of Japanese feeling to it!

Very stylish! Not your typical poncho! ;-)

I hand knitted this beautiful vest out of a blend of natural pure and mohair in Burgundy color. I have tapered the design in the right places to accentuate the curves of the female body.

I chose hand spun wool and silk in matching colors to make the ruffles that run along the whole garment, giving it a sophisticated, elegant yet daily look.

I crocheted a flower that was hand sewn in a pin to wear as a brooche either in the neckline or as a button to close up the vest. The brooche is embellished with a glass bead.
