Folk Art Prim Santa Make do

This Santa is made from muslin and sits on an old wood bobbin. I painted the bobbin a linen color. It is considered a make-do.

He has a needle sculpted nose with water color pencil eyes and mouth. His hair and beard are needle felted on to his round head and face. I fashioned him some glasses out of rusty wire and they are sewn to his head under the hat.

His coat is made from a burg fabric with stars. It is trimmed with cotton batting and I stitched with red perle cotton around the hem, sleeves and collar. Rusty tin bells are sewn down the front.

The hat is made from a burg homespun with blue homespun for trim. I prim-stitched stars around the brim and added a rusty tin bell at the center top.

Santa's bag is made from a burg felt and filled with candy canes, faux presents and some sweet Annie. It is gathered with a green ribbon and tied in a bow.

Little Annie is a wee 3 inches tall. She is made from muslin with a stitched face. Her hair is red perle cotton. She can be removed from the bag as she is tied to it with the green ribbon.

Simple Primitive Santa with Sweet Annie and Stocking

This Santa is 22 inches tall and made from muslin.I then aged him for that prim antique look. His head is round with painted eyes and pinch stitched nose. His beard is needle felted raw sheeps wool. On the top of his cap is a bell and I tied a piece of twine around it, in case you would like to hang your Santa. He would look wonderful sitting near your fire place or on the mantle.

The coat is made from a burgundy brushed cotton. He has short pants on underneath. Boots are painted with thread stitched on them for faux laces. He holds an 11 inch stocking with pip berries, chenile candy canes, cinnamon stick, and a rusty star. The stocking can be easily removed and hung on a peg shelf if you wish.

On his back he carries Sweet Annie in a burlap bag. This is stitched to him and not so easily removed.
He also has a hang tag with a vintage Santa on it. I added some glitter to the perimeter of the tag. Vintage graphic by ewe n me printables.

This baby was made from a vintage baby doll pattern. She is approx. 10 inches. Her face is hand drawn with water color pencils. Red hair is needle felted raw wool. I have been saving this out of print cherry print fabric for something special and she told me it was her! Her dress is made from a cherry fabric that has Life is a bowl of cherries written all over it. I added a big collar with a red heart button. Underneath she has red striped pants. This doll is my latest creation. She is made from muslin and aged. She is made with a pattern I created. She has water colored pencil hand drawn face. Her hair is raw wool which is needlefelted on to her round head. I wrapped cheesecloth around her head and added a rusty wire wrapped with red and green Sweet Annie. Her bodice is painted an antique gold and her sleeves and pants are made from a stained shabby and chic rose fabric. Her skirt is made from shiny tulle. I added an aged doily to the outside.
Around her neck are sewn fabric roses. Around her waist is cheese cloth with There is also pink and green ribbon wrapped around her waist. She has painted shoes. I added a wire loop that I stitched to the back top of her head for hanging.
