Here is a lovely set of hang tags done in soft hues of taupe and gentle lilac. The center picture is of a bulb flower...possibly a variety of crocus flower but as the inscription was in Latin, I'm not sure. These tags are sold as a set of 6 and measure approximately 3 x 4 1/2. Here is a delightfully sweet set of Snow Angel hang tags that features an antique, German Die Cut image. Light snow crystals are falling about the child and the blue and cream colors on this tag are light and delicate, making it one of my most favorite tag designs to date. There are several gold embossed snowflakes in the design that were placed in there for interest and for contrast. When turned in the light, they shimmer so nicely. I made several garlands using this tag design.

Ah, summer at the beach! When I think of summertime, I think of wind, sea and surf...warm sand between my toes and collecting shells to bring home and place on my coffee table. Now, I don't know too many birds, except maybe penguins, who lay eggs in the winter time, but I loved this image when I found it and I just couldn't pass up using it in a Christmas collage. It would have looked funny to use a penguin, so I choose to use this Oreole...so for my bird enthusianst customers, please forgive the artistic liscense that I took in creating this:)

Despite what ever you think about this tragic queen of France, it has been historically argued and nearly proven that she NEVER said, "Let them eat cake"! Fact is, when she was supposed to have uttered those fateful words, she was in hiding and on the run to Austria for her life. Marie's image has been moved down through time to represent spoiled decadence and royal indifference, but lately, it has been the icon of a different revolution by being transformed into a favored image of the shabby chic style. Honoring the requests of several of my customers I have created this digital collage image from one of her younger and more happier portraits. This is said in some sources to be her betrothal portrait when she was engaged to her husband King Louis. This comes as a set of 6 and is garnished with baby pink, vintage seam binding. These tags are a bit larger than my standard size and measure approx. 3.5 X 4.5 inches.

I just love the "spun sugar confection" look of all of Marie Antoinette's wardrobe! And it always amazed me that a fashion designer of the time was able to create those frou-frou hats to sit on top of a three foot wig! This tag was desgined one evening when I stumbled upon some antique fashion plates of Rose Bertin's work, (fashion minister for the queen) Plate after plate showed detailed drawings of whatI consider to be beautiful work. I have used two of Bertin's designs here and a drawing dating back to the time of the Revolution of one of Marie's shoes. (Yes, I'm a history GEEK)

Here is a delightfully whimsical creation that combines old ephemera elements from my collection. The fairy Queen comes from an antique print that I have which is a Victorian "whimsy" piece that depicts the fairy queens dressed in flowers. The Tulip Queen sits atop an antique French birdcage dating back tho the 1700's....not sure who created that print but it is quite lovely. The Fairy Queen's wings were added by myself and come from other ephemeral elements in my collection. The background has other antiqhe, French elements burnished and "grunged" into it.

I really enjoyed creating this tag. There are so many subtle layers and colors in this design, even though it stays in the monochromatic colorway of taupe, it just can't be captured with the camera. The hues are all subtle yet they stand out; pink, mauve, taupe, mint green, lavender and chocolate brown.

Here is a tag with a definite aged, vintage appeal. It was originally created for one of my clients which is a Victorian Floral shop and it is part of a larger series, but I have decided to offer it here on Etsy as it has been the most popular tag design of that set. Here is a set of 6 hang tags taken right out of a naturalist's field guide. The print on the tags is faithful to the antique, ephemera appearance of the original plate. The tags measure approximately 3 X 4 1/2. I have further enhanced them with inks, dyes and pigments.
